Muslim mob attack

In February 2025, Islamists threatened Hindus against celebrating Holi in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. This is nothing new as there are several incidents of Islamists attacking Holi in last few years.

Anjum Ara suggests that Hindus should maintain distance from mosques to avoid clashes. This is basically a warning-cum-threat to Hindus that if you happen to go near a mosque and get seen celebrating your festival, it would be justified for Muslims to get offended, and resort to stone pelting and assaulting Hindus.

The incident took place at Hindustan Chowk in Dumraon village under Ichak block. Many people have been injured in the violence, and are being treated in the Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital. Trainee IPS Shruti Agarwal, BDO Santosh Kumar, CO Ramji Prasad Gupta etc. are camping at the spot.

When the Baraatis objected to this, the situation took a violent turn as a significant number of Islamists gathered and started pelting stones at Hindus and assaulting them. The accused also allegedly robbed jewellery and cash from the wedding procession members

Incidentally, while Sharma is lamenting the death of four mobsters, the father of one of the deceased wants to shoot the policeman who allegedly shot his son, even as the police have confirmed that they only used rubber bullets and the mobsters was not injured in police firing but by bullet from illegal guns.

Some of the attackers also demolished the boundary wall built by Sunil. The number of attackers arriving from the direction of the nearby Dargah is said to be around 150

As the Ganpati immersion procession arrived at the Chamarajapete circle, the Hindus raised Jai Shri Ram slogans. This somehow infuriated the Muslims who started raising Islamic slogans and a verbal clash ensued. Soon after, stones were hurled at the Hindu procession.
