In Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, cops publicly shamed miscreants, unnecessarily wandering on the streets during the 'Janata Curfew' on Sunday, by making them hold posters that read, "I am the enemy of the society. I would not stay at home."
The victim has stated that he and his cousin were taken to a shed behind the agency and were beaten mercilessly. The assaulters had even dipped a screwdriver in petrol and had inserted it inside his rectum, causing grievous injuries.
The main accused Tinku Anwar, who was out on bail, first attacked the victim's husband with a knife in a busy market place before fleeing away with his accomplices.
The Congress workers were reportedly targeting RLP MLA Beniwal, who had earlier levelled corruption charges on the Congress leader and the state revenue minister Harish Chaudhary
