The West Bengal Junior Doctors' Front on Thursday wrote a letter to Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, expressing frustration over the state government's silence regarding their concerns.

Among those expelled, there were people close to the previous RG Kar Principal Sandeep Ghosh, on whose watch the brutal rape and murder of the junior doctor took place.

Kolkata junior doctors began fast unto death, protesting the rape and murder of a colleague in RG Kar Hospital, demanding justice, and accusing the West Bengal Government of neglecting their demands.

The CBI in its report on RG Kar College rape and murder case submitted before the court alleged that Sandip Ghosh failed to monitor the situation closely during the incident. He arrived at the hospital after the local police and homicide detectives had arrived.

Surprised by the missing challan of the victim's body when it was handed over for post-mortem, the Bench, which took suo motu cognizance of the horrific incident, had asked the state government to produce the crucial document on September 17th.

Senior advocate and Congress leader Kapil Sibal, who is representing West Bengal govt in RG Kar Hospital rape and murder case, objected to live streaming of SC proceedings.

His remand letter filed by CBI noted, “Sandip Ghosh did not intend to register an FIR in the case, even after being in consultation with an advocate.”

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, along with Abhijit Mondal, the officer-in-charge of Tala police station, in connection with the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in the state capital.
