A massive agitation was initiated by student organisations of the Left and the TMC on 5th March after the SFI and ultra-left Naxal outfits disrupted an event of the West Bengal College & University Professors Association (WBCUPA), an organisation of pro-Trinamool professors leaving the state education minister Basu and several professors injured.
Suvendu Adhikari informed that the police did not take action against the accused because they constituted the core vote bank of Mamata Banerjee's party.
"Buoyed by the activities of the radicalists in Bangladesh who are trying to repress the festivities surrounding the Durga Puja, miscreants in West Bengal are trying to imitate the same, in order to fan communal tensions and create an environment of intimidation and fear during the festive season," Suvendu Adhikari said in his tweet.
Arjun Singh stated that seven bullets were fired at Priyangu Pandey's vehicle in an alleged assassination bid. He also said that the attack was carried out in the presence of the ACP. Leader of the Opposition in Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari also shared the video and said that the "toxic cocktail of Police & TMC Goons won’t be able to scare BJP.”
Suvendu Adhikari emphasised, “This would be a first time, when a Govt would be trying to destabilize a spontaneous Public movement by spreading fake news through 'toolkit' and fake social media profiles.”
