International tunneling expert, Professor Arnold Dix reached the Silkyara tunnel and conducted a survey where 41 workers have been stuck since 12th November.
The rescue efforts in Uttarkashi tunnel have encountered various challenges, with intermittent pauses attributed to factors such as fumes produced by the diesel-driven machinery, vibrations, and technical malfunctions in drilling equipment.
According to rescue team, the trapped men have a buffer of around 400 metres to walk and breathe. The rescuers have also ensured supply of essential things and are using 900-mm wide pipes to rescue them.
