The Unnao gang-rape victim attempted to immolate herself outside CM Yogi Adityanath's residence on April 8, 2018, protesting no action by the police against the rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar

The victim's uncle has registered the FIR against Sengar, his brother and others over their alleged involvement in the accident. MLA Kuldeep Sengar has been lodged in Sitapur jail since last year after CBI took over the investigation in the rape case.

The Unnao rape victim was reportedly travelling in a vehicle with her lawyer and two aunts to meet her uncle in Raebareli. The car was hit by a truck in the Lalganj-Raebareli highway near Sultanpur Kheda.
