Massive violence erupted in Murshidabad in West Bengal as a Muslim mob protesting against the Waqf Amendment Act clashed with police, set vehicles on fire, threw stones at trains and vandalized railway stations

Amidst the ongoing violence in the state, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has voiced her opinion in support of Muslims agitating against the Waqf Act.

During the anti-CAA protests, Mamata Banerjee played down the assault on Railways which started in West Bengal.

According to Amit Malviya, the news of the clash between Kirti Azad and Kalyan Banerjee soon reached West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, who asked both to exercise restraint.

WBSSC appointed individuals who submitted blank OMR sheets and had secured low ranks. It continued appointing candidates illegally beyond the expiry of the recruitment panel.

West Bengal party president and union minister Sukanta Majumdar stated, "Stones rained down on vehicles just for carrying saffron flags. Windshields shattered. Chaos unleashed. This wasn't random, it was targeted violence.

Kolkata District Secretary of ABVP, Debanjan Pal, called out the Jadavpur university's decision to allow Iftar but refuse Ram Navami celebrations.

While accusing the ruling TMC government of Muslim appeasement, the BJP added, "No power in the world can stop the Hindus of Bengal from celebrating Ram Navami. This year, the processions will be bigger and more spirited. Jai Shri Ram."
