Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi booked for calling Azam Khan ‘Mogambo’

Magistrate MK Gupta, who was monitoring the rally, has written in his complaint that the 'Mogambo' remark can cause animosity among people and is in violation of the Model Code of Conduct

A police complaint has been lodged against the BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi for calling Azam Khan ‘mogambo’ and thereby flouting the Moral Code of Conduct.

In the wake of Azam Khan’s deplorable Khaki underwear remark for his opponent from Rampur constituency, Jaya Prada, Naqvi on Monday allegedly referred to Khan as ‘Mogambo’, the iconic villain character in Mr. India movie while addressing a public rally organised in Rampur. The rally was organised at Shahbaad Ram Leela ground in Rampur on Monday and an FIR was lodged on the same day late evening.

The Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Singh said, “The Magistrate who was monitoring the rally had given a complaint based on the alleged statements made by Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and an NCR has been registered. The case has been registered following an order from Magistrate M K Gupta.

Magistrate M K Gupta said in a statement, “ On 15th April, in the rally organised in Rampur, BJP’s Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi referred to Azam Khan as ‘Mogambo’ which can cause animosity and in violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

A few days back, Samajwadi leader Azam Khan had made derogatory remarks against his opponent and the BJP candidate from Rampur constituency, Jaya Prada in a rally and was defended by Samajwadi supremo Akhilesh Yadav as well.

Soon after the incident, Khan was also seen speaking to his supporters in a video, where he stated that after he is back in power, he will make collectors clean his shoes.
