PM Narendra Modi mentions OpIndia story on “big farmhouses” of the Gandhi family in his election rally

Prime minister Narendra Modi added that in corruption cases the name of naamdar family tops the list

While attacking the Congress party for its corruption, prime minister Narendra Modi quoted a story broken by OpIndia at an election rally today. The prime minister said that Congress and Corruption are so close to each other that they can’t be separated. He said that during Congress rule, corruption remains on accelerator and development remains on ventilator.

Prime minister Narendra Modi added that in this too, the name of naamdar family tops the list, referring to the Gandhi family. He said, ‘you may have recently seen in media that, how scams were done in big farmhouses also’. Recently OpIndia had revealed the dubious land deals done by the members of the Gandhi family.

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had done several land deals with HL Pahwa, who is close to fugitive arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. Rahul Gandhi had purchased land form Pahwa at a reduced price, while Priyanka Gandhi has bought land from Pahwa and later sold him back at an inflated price.

The Gandhi siblings also had rented their farmhouse a company which was accused of violation of norms. Moreover, the rent earned by the Gandhis was 4 to 9 times the declared value of the farmhouse, which was listed a little over Rs 9 lakh in Rahul Gandhi’s election affidavit.  Rahul Gandhi also had purchased properties from 2G scam accused Unitech in a questionable deal, where he was earning interest on the advance payment made for two commercial properties.
