Uttar Pradesh: Four cousins along with a teacher raped a minor girl for two years because she excelled in her studies

Once the minor girl was sedated, the youths and their teacher took turns to rape her while one of them filmed the act on a mobile phone

In another horrific incident, a minor girl was gang-raped for nearly two years by her own four cousins as they were jealous of her sister for excelling in studies. A teacher also participated in the crime against the girl.

Reportedly, the girl was allegedly raped inside a school by her four cousins and her own teacher, who captured the video of the rape inside the Islamia school in Sadarpur of Bareilly district, in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident came to the fore after the video of the rape reached the family WhatsApp group. As the parents of the victim came to know about the horrific incident, the victim then narrated the incident and accused her cousins and teacher of raping for nearly two years.

“Once the minor girl was sedated, the youths and their teacher took turns to rape her while one of them filmed the act on a mobile phone. When she regained consciousness, she was told she fainted on the playground and was hence, brought to the staff room. She realised what went on during those times only after the clips were shared,” said a police officer.

According to the police, the cousins wanted to “cut her to size” for excelling in studies while they failed in exams. Apparently, all of them lived in the same house and the cousins were allegedly often humiliated by the girl who stood first in the class.

Speaking to the media, Madhuvan Kumar Singh, Additional SP (north) confirmed that the girl in her complaint had said she was gang-raped by her cousins many times in the past two years.

The spate of incidents of criminal assaults against women especially minor girls in Uttar Pradesh has been on the rise. At the beginning of this month, at least five cases of crime against young girls have come to fore across different parts of Uttar Pradesh. Visibly miffed with the police for failing to ‘instil fear’ among criminals in the state, Uttar Pradesh CM, Yogi Adityanath, in a high-level meeting with senior police and home department officials on June 11, had asked the state police to re-activate the anti-Romeo squad.

Despite, persistent efforts by Uttar Pradesh government, recently we reported how 19-year-old Tausif Imran Khan had repeatedly raped a 14-year-old class X girl and recorded her on his mobile phone. He had, allegedly, also attempted to brainwash her to convert to Islam by taking her to various religious places.

In another such incident, on June 17, this time a teen boy had allegedly been raped by four men of his village in the Puwaya area in Shahjahanpur.

Moreover, recently, we had reported how the barbarity exhibited in the brutal killing of a three-year-old Tina (name changed) by Zahid and Aslam in Aligarh has shaken the conscience of the country.
