“You voted for Narendra Modi and want me to get your works done”, Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy shouts at protesters

Kumaraswamy has also landed in a controversy over his very expensive village stay program

In a sheer display of arrogance, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday was caught on camera lashing out at citizens for protesting over wage issues while threatening to lathi-charge them.

According to the reports, HD Kumaraswamy was travelling to Karegudda for his ‘village stay programme’. While in Raichur, the bus was stopped by a group of protesters, who shouted ‘Shame Shame!’ at Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy.

The power workers from the Yermarus Thermal Power Station were protesting over wages and other issues. As they raised slogans, the Karnataka chief minister became angry and began lashing out at the people through the bus window.

“You voted for Narendra Modi and want me to get your works done! You want me to give you respect. Should I order to lathi-charge you? Leave the place,” said the angry Chief Minister Kumaraswamy. He also added that they don’t deserve any respect.

This incident came just a day after Kumaraswamy landed in a controversy following reports that the CM had spent over a crore of rupees for his single-day stay in a village. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has released a booklet claiming that that the Karnataka CM had spent Rs 1.22 crores during his single-day stay.

In the recent 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the JDS-Congress coalition in Karnataka was routed out by the BJP, which won 25 out of 28 seats. The Congress-JDS coalition despite all its strength and power could only manage to win 1 seat each.
