In India where cricket is almost like a religion, the World Cup brings out the most irrational self out of most of us. Some don’t move till their particular player is batting while some wear the same t-shirt they wore when the Indian team played the last crucial match and won.
Amongst all this, an elderly lady, Charulata Patel, has won everyone’s hearts in India v Bangladesh match yesterday. The 87-year-old lady was cheering for India and the men in blue later went to take her blessings for rest of the tournament in a heart-touching moment.

Business tycoon Anand Mahindra, who, as a tradition does not watch matches when India is playing (we all have our quirks), switched on the TV only to watch the lady cheer for India.

He later tweeted how the last over had all the drama he needed in the match and wished that the cheering lady is also present for semi-finals and finals. Referring to her as ‘match-winning lady’, he suggested she should be given a free ticket.

A Twitter user then asked him how about he himself sponsoring her tickets. To which, Mahindra readily agreed. He has promised to reimburse her ticket costs for the rest of the matches where India is playing.
