In Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district, a Muslim man deceived a widowed Hindu woman, ensnaring her in a romantic relationship and subjecting her to prolonged sexual exploitation. Following a court order, the police registered a case against the accused.
In a complaint filed by the victim, the man, identified as Saddam introduced himself as Abhishek to trap her into a relationship. Her husband died in 2013 in an accident, following which she went to stay with her aunt in Robertsganj.
Three years later, in 2016, she met a man who introduced himself as Abhishek. They began talking over the phone, and he promised to marry her. However, he sexually exploited her and secretly made videos to blackmail her.
It was only later that she discovered that Abhishek’s real name was Saddam, and he had deceived her by pretending to be Hindu. When she became pregnant, he threatened her and forced her to have an abortion. Upon learning the truth, Saddam demanded that she convert to Islam before marriage and assaulted her when she resisted.
The victim filed a police complaint, but no action was taken initially. Finally, on the court’s order, the Robertsganj police registered a case against Sadham and began an investigation. The Superintendent of Police, Kalus Singh, confirmed that further legal action is underway.
