The notorious Ford Foundation was told to vacate its New Delhi office by the central government. Two international initiatives led by India were given the space which had been used by the foundation since the 1960s, reported The Indian Express. Its contract for the property at 55, Lodhi Estate expired, after which the eviction process was started by the Land and Development Office of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) last March. Officials informed that there was no “forceful eviction” because the foundation left the premises.
According to information obtained by the media house, the foundation moved out in February of this year, and its website now lists Level 8, DLF Centre, Sansad Marg as the new address. On 7th September (Monday), the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) and Global Biofuels Alliance were provided with accommodation on the ground floor and first floor of the foundation’s former location by the Directorate of Estates, under the MoHUA.
In 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formed the IBCA, a collaboration of several nations and agencies. Its website states that it currently operates out of a home in the Shanti Niketan neighbourhood of the national capital. During the 2023 G20 Summit in New Delhi, PM Modi introduced the Global Biofuels Alliance in front of world leaders. Its present office is located in South Delhi at Sanrakshan Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place.
American architect Joseph Stein, who also created famous post-independence structures in Delhi such as the India International Centre and India Habitat Centre, designed the Ford Foundation Headquarters in Lodhi Estate. The United Nations and its agencies have also used its grounds, and they continue to inhabit portions of it to this day.
Notably, the Gujarat government highlighted that the Ford Foundation was supporting the anti-India operations of Sabrang Trust and Citizens for Justice and Peace, the NGOs (non-governmental organisations) of Teesta Setalvad. As a result, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) put it on a watchlist in 2015. The foundation was placed on the “prior approval category,” which meant that any money it transferred to Indian organisations would first need to be approved by the government. It was taken off the list by the MHA in March 2016.
The glaring anti-India agenda of the Ford Foundation
The Ford Foundation is infamous for its involvement with multiple entities focused on intervening in India’s domestic issues, targeting the incumbent Modi government and damaging the country’s international reputation. It funds the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), an alleged election-reform NGO with strong ideological and financial ties to globalist networks, including the Open Society Foundations (OSF) of George Soros.
The NGO submitted a lawsuit in the Supreme Court last year, using similar arguments propagated by Rahul Gandhi in his campaign rallies in Bihar to claim “mass disenfranchisement” of voters. Of course, the unfounded charges made by the Islamo-leftist group and the opposition are strikingly similar to the foundation that is determined to malign India’s image.
ADR even contested the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Act 2023 in the apex court. Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and career propagandist Prashant Bhushan, whose name has been associated with the anti-Hindu Delhi riots and who has openly supported accused Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam, took to social media to announce this development.
The Reporters Collective, run by the National Foundation for India, which published an inaccurate report declaring that the Modi government manipulated a “Homemade Poverty Index” to portray a significant reduction in poverty in the nation, also received financial support from the foundation.
Predictably, there were a number of conceptual and methodological errors in the evaluation of India’s National MPI (Multidimensional Poverty Index). The assertions of manipulation and cherry-picking did not explain the logic for the government’s approach, and the rejection of additional parameters indicated a dearth of understanding of poverty’s complex nature.
It is, however, not surprising, as the goal was never to attain a factual conclusion but to use the government to attack the nation and cast aspersions on its progress and development.
Ravish Kumar, another propagandist disguised as a journalist, was awarded the “Independence Prize” by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), a group backed by the Ford Foundation. RSF also expressed support for “fact-checker” Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of Alt News, after he was charged by the authorities in Uttar Pradesh for jeopardising the sovereignty and unity of India. RSF has a track record of targeting India, including in relation to press freedom, where it ranked Pakistan higher in its 2023 report.
Moreover, it was disclosed in 2023 that the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which gets aid from OSF and the Ford Foundation, among others, was intending to disrupt India’s financial markets, emulating the actions of the United States-based short seller “Hindenburg Research.” The objective was to target Indian businesses and induce a ripple effect in the country’s economy.
OCCRP, similar to “Hindenburg Research,” carried out a hit job on the Adani Group. Afterwards, the report was utilised by international left-wing media outlets, such as the Financial Times and the Guardian, to accuse Adanis of secretly investing in their company shares, referring to them as “family linked to PM Modi.” However, the malicious effort could not succeed.
Hence, OCCRP chose to attack one of India’s major mining corporations, the Vedanta Group, insisting that it “covertly” persuaded the government to remove crucial environmental rules during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Ford Foundation is also associated with the “Access Now” NGO, which is linked to Soros. Its name gained attention after many Members of Parliament (MPs), politicians and other notable individuals reported receiving an alert from Apple indicating that “state-sponsored threat actors” might have attempted to access their phones. This issue escalated into a political controversy. However, it was subsequently unveiled that the messages originated from Access Now, and recipients were advised to reach out to its 24/7 helpline.
Ford Foundation: A cabal of left-wing extremists
According to whistleblower emails cited by Christopher Brunet on his Substack KarlStack in 2021, the Ford Foundation, which presents itself as a group working to advance human welfare, is a cesspool of intolerant and bigoted left-wing extremists. They mentioned that these left-wing ideologues and extremists go to considerable lengths to propagate their communist views while advocating cancel culture and harassing those who dare to voice opposing views and dissenting opinions.
The unofficial listserv for Ford Foundation Fellows, a private forum available to both current and former members, has been described as being heavily influenced by radicals who utilise the platform to foster a continuous groupthink aligned with extreme leftist ideology. A whistleblower, who has been a part of the group for more than 20 years and has firsthand knowledge of the conversations taking place on the listserv, made the statement in an email.
“The group consists of academics whose membership in the Fellowship Programs claims to ‘seek to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, maximise the educational benefits of diversity, and increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.’ This couldn’t be further from the truth,” the person highlighted.
Those who do not comply with the left-leaning worldview and dare to express competing viewpoints are ruthlessly attacked, discredited, criticised, accused of “provocation” or “racism,” and sometimes even doxxed, just because their opinions varied from those of the left-wing bullies.

The American NGO has been unwavering in its support for anti-India elements and has collaborated with the likes of George Soros, who has openly pushed for regime change in India. This private foundation has a long history of indulging in actions that are hostile to India, all under the pretence of “assistance,” which, in truth, aims to promote their detrimental agenda that opposes Indian interests.
