Former Congress leader and Christian Michel’s lawyer threatens Republic TV journalist

Joseph was expelled by the party after his links to Congress gathered a lot of attention on social media when he appeared in court to represent Michel.

Republic TV journalist Nalini Sharma was allegedly threatened by former Congress leader and lawyer of AgustaWestland middleman Christian Michel, Aljo K Joseph, for asking questions.

The journalist shared her interaction with Joseph on Twitter.

Joseph is claimed to have told Sharma, “I’m an arrogant man. You have not seen my arrogance yet. Warning you, don’t do this.” Joseph was expelled by the party after his links to Congress gathered a lot of attention on social media when he appeared in court to represent Michel.

The Congress party has a history of its leaders threatening journalists. Last year in November, a spokesperson of the party had threatened a journalist during a debate on Zee News. In June, a journalist was attacked at Congress headquarters after being accused of being a Modi Bhakt. Not merely journalists, the Congress party has threatened bureaucrats with consequences as well should it return to power in 2019.

The party also appears to have a particular grudge against Republic TV journalists. An India Today journalist had once shielded Mani Shankar Aiyar from pressing questions asked by a Republic TV reporter and the Congress leader had happily praised the journalist for shielding him. It is notable here that the journalists from Republic TV have been abused and manhandled on several occasions by leftists and their supporters, including Congress workers.

While AAP has claimed credit for Punjab’s rise in the education sector, the timeline suggests the state’s improvement may have begun before the party came to power in 2022. The AAP government was sworn in in March 2022. But some key surveys or studies have cited the data prior to 2022. It raises the question: Does the AAP government deserve the actual credit, or are they riding on someone else's work?
