A woman went missing amid violence that emerged during the Ram Navami celebrations in Khargone in Madhya Pradesh on 10th April 2022. A top police official said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to trace the woman. The woman’s family members said that the children had gone to see the Ram Navami procession. On hearing about stone-pelting and violence in the procession, the woman left the house in search of the children but later did not return.
The woman’s brother-in-law Pawan Kumar Saronia said, “Even after six days, my younger brother Dharmendra’s wife has not been traced. There is a curfew and we are disturbed. On Ram Navami, my two sons and Dharmendra’s son had gone to Jawahar Marg in the Sarafa area. As soon as the news of the violence came, she went out to bring the children back safely.”
Saronia said that the children later returned home but the woman is still missing. He said the family searched for her and also approached the police, but the police said that it was not the right time to search for her and the family should wait. He said Dharmendra Saronia has left for Gwalior in search of his wife. Some members of the family have approached the local unit of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for help.
Pavan Kumar Saronia said that the children in the house are crying since their mother went missing. Superintendent of Police in-charge Rohit Kashwani said, “A Special Investigation Team has been formed to trace the woman. Hopefully, we’ll know something about the woman soon.”
The Khargone Riots
On April 10, a Ram Navami procession that began in the Talab Chowk area of Khargone had to be abandoned midway after it came under a volley of stones. Riots escalated as several vehicles were set on fire. The cops resorted to firing tear gas shells to bring the situation under control. During the orgy of violence, a total of 24 people were injured, including six police personnel.
The day after the riots, the Khargone administration took strict action against the miscreants who had pelted stones at the Ram Navami procession. The illegally constructed buildings were bulldozed by the administration. Five JCB machines were deployed for the task. According to the reports, 77 people have been arrested and the city of Khargone continues to be under curfew.
Bhopal police have given permission for a Hanuman Jayanti procession in the city after imposing 16 conditions on the organizers. The procession will be taken out on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday, 16th of April at 4:30 PM.
After the recent incident of stone-pelting on Ram Navami procession in Khargone, police will also monitor the procession with drones to avoid a repeat of the violence. DCP (Zone 3) Riyaz Iqbal informed that the entire procession route has been mapped by drones, and accordingly security arrangements have been made.
The vice-president of Jai Maa Bhavani Hindu Sangathan (JMBHS), Naveen Khare, had sought permission to take out the procession on Hanuman Jayanti starting from Kali Ghat temple through various areas of Bhopal. While initially, police had given permission for the entire route, later on, they canceled the permission for the old city area of the city. Muslim clerics had objected to the procession and had raised security concerns due to the procession.
As part of the conditions for the procession, organizers will have to provide the list of songs that will be played by the DJ in the procession. The list of songs has to be submitted to the police before the procession begins. Organizers have also been asked to avoid any objectionable slogans or posters during the procession.
Only traditional trishul and Lord Hanuman’s weapon gada can be carried by the participants in the procession as part of the conditions. The organizers have also been asked to avoid any activity that may hurt the feelings of any religion or sect. In case of any disturbance during the procession, the organizers will be held liable by the police administration.
In light of the recent communal violence perpetrated on the Ram Navami procession in the state, police have also made elaborate security arrangements for the procession. Nearly 600 police personnel will be present to ensure nobody tries to disturb the procession. Police has also deployed drones to keep an eye on the area during the procession.
On Friday (April 15), the Delhi police arrested 3 people for putting up saffron flags and banners outside the campus of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The arrested individuals were associated with the organisation Hindu Sena.
The members of the Hindu outfit had pasted banners titled ‘Bhagwa JNU’ in and around the varsity campus, all of which were later seized by the cops. While speaking about the matter, the Delhi police claimed that the arrests were made for defacing the varsity property with the posters.
‘Bhagwa JNU’ posters, saffron flags were put up allegedly by members of Hindu Sena on the premises of JNU campus.
The cops said, “This morning it came to our notice that some flags and banners were put on the road and adjoining areas of JNU. The flags and banners were seized and a case was registered under Section 3 of the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007. Further investigation is under progress.”
According to DCP (Southwest Delhi) Manoj C, three people were detained and the vehicle used to put up flags and banners was seized. As per a report by The Hindu, the three men were not arrested but ‘bound down’ (not booked under any legal provision and released on the condition that they respond to summons) by the police.
Earlier, Hindu Sena Vice-President Srujit Yadav had warned the Left to not insult ‘saffron’. “The saffron has been insulted by anti-Hindu elements in JNU. Hindu Sena is warning you to mend your ways. Stop insulting saffron. We can take strong action against it,” he was heard as saying.
As per a report in The Times of India, Surjit Yadav was also taken into police custody for putting up saffron flags and banners at the main gate of the Jawaharlal Nehru University.
While responding to the police action, Hindu Sena stated, “Saffron is not a symbol of terror that the police are showing haste. It is a right under the law to protect saffron and Hindutva.” The development comes days after leftist goons attacked ABVP workers over Ram Navami celebrations at the central university.
Clash at JNU on Ram Navami
Reportedly, some members of ABVP had organised a Hawan and Puja on account of Ram Navami on April 10 inside the JNU campus. The student wing of the BJP had accused the Left-wing student organizations and the National Students Union of India (NSUI) of stopping them from performing the Hawan and Puja at the Kaveri Hostel inside the JNU campus.
The Leftist students alleged that ABVP members had a scuffle with the mess manager as non-vegetarian food was being served on the day of Ram Navami. The festivities ended in a tense environment with 7 ABVP members sustaining severe injuries. A day later, the varsity issued a statement, clearing the air on the issue.
After five days in coma, 16-year-old Shivam Shukla, who was fighting for his life in an Indore hospital after being attacked by Islamists during the Ram Navami procession in Khargone, has regained consciousness. Shivam, who sustained significant brain damage, is responding to treatment, according to doctors.
Shivam’s brother, Manthan Joshi, told Times Now that he is now stable, but that he is still unable to talk. Manthan added that 150 to 200 persons threw petrol bombs, pelted stones, and even fired bullets during the Ram Navami procession. He said that this had been prepared ahead of time. Shivam got hurt in the violence.
“Our mother is still reeling from the ordeal, and we can’t sleep at night because we’re so terrified. The administration is really helpful, but it will take some time for us to overcome our fears,” he added.
Shivam attends Khargone Polytechnic College and, according to his maternal uncle Surendra Joshi, he and his family took part in the Ram Navami celebration. According to reports, the state of Madhya Pradesh is footing the bill for his hospitalization.
Khargaon violence: What happened on April 10?
Shivam took part in a procession to celebrate Lord Ram’s birth anniversary in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday, April 10. The Islamists began attacking the procession with stones and petrol bombs. Shivam collapsed suddenly, and when the people surrounding him saw him, they noticed he had suffered a head injury.
He was hurried to a local private hospital amid the chaos, but there were no beds available. After that, he was sent to a government hospital. He had a hole in his skull, but he was still alive when the doctors arrived. He was then sent to Indore for treatment right away. Shivam was conscious on the trip to Indore, but by the time they arrived, he went unconscious.
The Bhopal Police on Saturday canceled the permission granted for the Hanuman Jayanti procession in the old city of Bhopal citing security reasons. The Police said that the procession can pass through other parts of the city except for the old city area of Bhopal.
The decision came after a delegation of Muslim clerics led by Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadwi met DGP Sudhir Saxena and Home Minister Narottam Mishra. The clerics in the city raised concerns over the permission granted for the Hanuman Jayanti procession. They said that conducting procession in the Muslims-dominated localities would be fraught with danger.

The Police on April 16 however denied permission for the procession in the old city of Bhopal, which is a Muslim-dominated area.
Last week, a Ram Navmi procession in the Khargone area of Madhya Pradesh was attacked by Islamists which led to communal riots disrupting peace in the state. Stones were pelted at the procession that began in the Talab Chowk area of Khargone on April 10.
Riots escalated after several vehicles and shops were set on fire. The cops struggled to pacify the situation and fired tear gas shells to disperse the violent crowd. During the violence, a total of 24 people were injured, including six police personnel. The Khargone administration later took strict action against the miscreants who had pelted stones at the Ram Navami procession. The illegally constructed buildings owned by the stone pelters were bulldozed by the administration.
The Bhopal Police is on high alert ahead of the Hanuman Jayanti procession and has arranged drones to monitor the situation in the city today. Also, a heavy police force has been deployed in the city to ensure peace and harmony during the procession.
The festival of Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman. The procession in Bhopal will begin at 4.30 pm today. Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi, on Saturday took to Twitter to remember his sister Michelle Vadra on her 21st death anniversary.
In a tweet, Robert Vadra paid tributes to her deceased sister, sayingshe will be remembered and missed each day.
“RIP Michelle, you are remembered & missed each day,” tweeted Priyanka Gandhi’s husband, Robert Vadra remembering her sister, who died in a car accident on April 16, 2001.

Reportedly, Michelle Vadra, sister of Robert Vadra, and another woman died in a car crash killed when the car in which they were travelling mysteriously overturned near Behror in Alwar district of Rajasthan on April 16, 2001.
Six others, including two children, were injured in the accident, which occurred when they were returning to Delhi from Jaipur. The Rajasthan police had said that the vehicle overturned after one of its tyres burst.
Michelle and another woman died on the spot. The bodies were sent to Delhi, while the injured were taken to the local hospital.
Interestingly, Ashok Gehlot, the current chief minister of Rajasthan and a close aide of Sonia Gandhi, was the chief minister of the state when Michelle died in an accident in Rajasthan.
Priyanka Gandhi’s estranged brother-in-law and father-in-law also died mysteriously
Two years after Robert Vadra’s sister Michelle died mysteriously in an accident, Richard Vadra – the estranged brother of Priyanka Gandhi’s husband, was found dead in a hotel room in Moradabad on September 20, 2003.
Intriguingly, no details are available on why Richard committed suicide. There are also no details pertaining to the investigation carried out after Richard’s death. Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh then.
In 2009, Rajendra Vadra, father of Robert Vadra, was also found dead at a guest house in the Yusuf Sarai area in New Delhi. Rajendra Vadra had allegedly died of suicide as Vadra was found with an ironing cord around his neck.
The Delhi police had initially claimed that a heart attack caused the death, but later it was revealed that Priyanka Gandhi’s father-in-law had died due to suicide. Again, there was no official statement from the Congres party or the Gandhi family.
There are no details pertaining to the suspicious death of Robert Vadra’s father, and the investigation details are also not in the public domain.
Reportedly, Robert Vadra was not on good terms with his father and brother after they had tried to gain favours by pretending to act on his behalf. Robert Vadra had also placed ads in newspapers, declaring that he had nothing to do with his father, Rajinder, and brother, Richard.
The Congress party had also directed all its Chief Ministers, PCC chiefs and CLP leaders to be aware that Robert Vadra had severed ties with his father and brother, and no favour they sought in Robert’s name should be entertained.
It is alleged that Robert Vadra had snapped ties with his father and brother for approaching a Congress CM over a contract for a major project, using Priyanka’s name. Another Congress leader had claimed that Rajinder Vadra had asked him for a favour by sending his visiting card with “father-in-law of Priyanka” boldly pencilled on it.
Hijab, which has long been contentious in India, is now gaining popularity in political arenas throughout the world. The hijab grabbed centre stage in the presidential campaign of France on Friday, as far-right contender Marine Le Pen sought to outlaw them in the country with the biggest Muslim population in Western Europe.
Both she and her opponent Emmanuel Macron, who face a close runoff on April 24 in the presidential elections, were approached by women wearing hijabs who questioned why their wardrobe choices should be entwined with politics.
A lady in hijab approached Le Pen as she navigated among fishmongers and sellers to greet supporters at a farmers’ market in the southern town of Pertuis. “What is the headscarf doing in politics?” the lady asked.
Image: France24
Le Pen defended her stance, describing the headscarf as a “uniform imposed over time by people who have a radical vision of Islam.” “That’s not true,” the woman countered. “I started to wear the veil when I was an older woman … For me, it is a sign of being a grandmother.”
On Friday, Macron, too, got into a heated debate with a woman wearing a hijab on France-Info. He attempted to distance himself from Le Pen by claiming that he would not modify any legislation, but he backed the present ban on hijab in schools as part of France’s secular ideals.
Sara El Attar, the lady, said she was offended by Macron’s past remarks in which he implied that the hijab destabilises male-female relationships.
Macron, on the other hand, attempted to defend his record. “The issue of the hijab is not an obsession for me,” Macron remarked.
It should be noted that Le Pen has declared that if she is elected, wearing an Islamic headscarf in public in France should be a crime punishable by a fine imposed by the police, similar to a traffic infringement.
Though the hijab is an issue in this election, Macron has also been accused of inciting anti-Muslim prejudice due to his stern stance on what the government refers to as “radical Islamism.” Following a wave of incidents linked with radical Islamists in late 2020, Macron pushed through a slew of counter-measures.
Meanwhile, Macron has exploited her tenacity to argue that Le Pen’s policies are no different than those of her father, Jean-Marie, and his radical National Front (FN).
The former district president of Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) Mohd Ruved Sabir and his wife Samina Parveen have expressed their desire to convert to Hinduism and reached out to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to seek help in the due process. The couple said that they have been compelled to take the decision after they did not receive any help from the leaders and organisations of their own community.

In fact, the couple had also lodged a formal complaint to the Moradabad Police in this regard. In the complaint, the couple wrote about being unable to convert to a religion of their choice. Expressing faith in the Hindu religion, they said that they have not been getting any response from their community to initiate the process.
In a video, that emerged on Twitter on April 11, the ex-AIMIM leader’s wife Samina Parveen is heard saying that they want to convert to Hinduism since no one from her community has come forward to help them in her fight against her in-laws, who have been harassing her for dowry. She claimed to have knocked on the doors of many influential Muslim leaders and organisations in search of justice, but she was snubbed by all. Left with no option, she reached out to Chief Minister Yogi Adtiyanath to seek help in the due process of voluntary conversion.
In the aforementioned video, Samina Parveen alleges that since she got married to Mohd Ruved Sabir, the ex-AIMIM leader, the latter’s family has been harassing her and her parents for dowry. She went on to say that prior to the marriage, Sabir’s parents demanded a large sum of money from her father, claiming that he was the family’s only son. After marriage, the demand for dowry continued.
Samina added that when her father ran out of money, her in-laws started threatening them and filing false cases against them. She sold off her jewellery to meet her in-laws’ demands. However, after a point when she too ran out of money, they started harassing her. Samina lamented that she approached all the Muslim leaders and organisations but, afraid of her in-laws’ political clout and connections, everybody backed out. Even if someone chose to assist, her in-laws threatened them with false cases, said Samina.
Adding that there was no point in being a part of a society that did not come to your aid when you were in trouble, Samina rued, “No one from our community has helped us. It has left us with no option but to convert. We will take up to Hinduism”.
Meanwhile, the ex-AIMIM leader and Samina Parveen’s husband Mohd Ruved Sabir is also heard saying in the video that they have full faith in Yogi Adityanath that he would help them in converting to Hinduism. He added that the people whom they are fighting are all goons of the Samajwadi Party. “Mohd Parvez is also a member of the Samajwadi Party. My father is also a supporter of the Samajwadi Party and adheres to the party’s ideologies, which is why he has been torturing and harassing us to this extent”, said the ex-AIMIM leader.
Moradabad police statement after video of ex-AIMIM leader and wife wanting to adopt Hinduism goes viral
Notably, two days after the aforementioned video went viral, the Moradabad police released a video byte on its official Twitter handle wherein it acknowledged receiving a complaint from Samina Parveen. The police confirmed that Samina Parveen and her husband have been involved in a family feud with her father-in-law, Sabir Hussain over the property.

According to the police, the old family feud had recently escalated over unpaid electricity bills. The police confirmed that the family has already been embroiled in legal wranglings for some time, with Samina Parveen and her husband Mohd Ruved Sabir on one side and Sabir’s father Sabir Hussain, his three daughters, and son-in-laws on the other.
The police stated that Samina Parveen had earlier in the year 2021 also filed cases against her father in law under sections 313 (causing miscarriage without woman’s consent), and 386 (extortion) of the IPC. The police had then filed a charge sheet in the case under IPC sections, 323 (voluntarily causes hurt), 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
On Thursday (April 14), a frenzied mob went on a rampage in the Swedish town of Linköping after Danish anti-immigration party Stram Kurs announced to burn a copy of the Quran on the following day.
Amidst chants of ‘Allahu Akbar’, the masked men attacked police vehicles and set them ablaze. According to independent researcher Hugo Kamman, a total of 4 police officers were injured during the attack. Two people have been arrested so far in connection to the case.

The cops eventually withdrew from the area, thereby encouraging rioters to continue the orgy of violence in other Swedish cities of Norrköping, Rinkeby, Stockholm and Orebro. “The mood has been aggressive and there have been attacks against police at the scene,” remarked police spokesperson Asa Willsund.
Violence in Orebro
On Friday (April 15), riots broke out in the Swedish city of Örebro during which a violent mob attacked the police and engaged in arson attacks. As per a report published by Reuters, the rioters pelted stones, broke through police cordons and set 4 vehicles on fire.
Reuters reported that at least 4 cops and a private individual were injured during the attack. According to the police, the officers were suspected to have suffered from arm fractures. According to independent researcher Hugo Kamman, the rioters also stole a police vehicle and were roaming around the city in that car.

“The fact that this is allowed to happen is a severe indictment of the Swedish police leadership’s failure to assert the rule of law,” he stated in a tweet. Violence was also reported in the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby and Navesta in Norrköpingover the scheduled Quran burning event.

While responding to the violence, Swedish prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said, “I strongly condemn the violence that is now being directed at the police and the general public in Örebro. Yesterday and during the night we saw similar scenes in Linköping and in Norrköping. Several police officers have been injured while working in their service to defend democratic rights “
The Quran burning event by Stram Kurs
The chief of the Danish anti-immigration party, Rasmus Paludan, had announced to burn a copy of the Quran in the Muslim-dominated neighbourhood of Linkoping. While a large mob of 200 odd Muslims had gathered to protest against the act of ‘blasphemy’, Stram Kurs chief went ahead and set the book ablaze.
Thereafter, the frenzied mob began pelting stones at the police, closed the road for vehicular movement and carried out arson attacks. Mikail Yuksel, the founder of the Party of Different Colors in Sweden, has accused Paludan of provoking Muslims by indulging in blasphemous acts outside mosques and in Muslim-majority areas.
He had claimed, “In Sweden, which defends human rights, freedom of religion and conscience with the highest pitch, the Qur’an is burned in the neighbourhoods of Muslims under the protection of the police.”

It must be mentioned that the party was given permission to hold the Quran burning event by the police, which later disbanded it due to the deteriorating law and order situation.
While reacting to the violence, National Police Chief Anders Thornberg said, “We live in a democratic society and one of the most important tasks of the police is to ensure that people can use their constitutionally protected rights to demonstrate and express their opinions…The police do not get to choose who has this right, but must always intervene in case of violation.”
Ramsus Paludan and 2020 Sweden riots
In August 2020, riots broke out in the city of Malmo in Sweden after a member of the ‘Stram Kurs’ group burnt a copy of the Quran. The burning of the Quran was a part of an anti-Islam protest which took place in the city, following the arrest of Rasmus Paludan.
Paludan is the leader of a Danish anti-immigration political party ‘Hard-Line’ and was supposed to hold a meeting in the city. Authorities had informed that Paludanone was banned from Sweden for two years due to concerns about him breaking Swedish law. As such, he was stopped at the border and was denied entry into Malmo.
In response, Paludan had put up a post on Facebook that read, “Sent back and banned from Sweden for two years. However, rapists and murderers are always welcome!” He was supposed to take part in an anti-Muslim rally and had earlier urged his supporters to burn the Quran.
In a viral video, a member of the ‘Stram Kurs’ group was seen setting spraying gasoline over a copy of the Quran and then setting the book on fire during the day. The man was seen pointing toward the burnt Quran and condemning Islam in Swedish.
The incident triggered radical Islamists, who then hit the streets and unleashed violence. While the rioters first protested against the actions of the group, they soon resorted to burning tyres and pelting rocks at the police. In 2019, Paludan had set a Quran on fire after wrapping the book with a piece of bacon.
A live concert by Punjabi singer Satinder Sartaaj which was to be held on April 17 in Houston, Texas, has been canceled after Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah requesting immediate action to stop the concert. The event was organized by Pakistani-origin ‘event manager’ Rehan Siddiqui, who has been blacklisted by the home ministry on terror-related allegations.
In his letter to the Home Minister, Meena stated that the proceeds from such events were utilised by Rehan Siddiqui for anti-India activities, particularly in Kashmir. According to reports, the concert updates were deleted from websites after it was abruptly cancelled.
Rehan Siddiqui, a Pakistani living in Houston, was blacklisted in 2020 on the advice of the Consulate General of India in Houston. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale had mentioned Rehan Siddiqui’s suspected anti-India activities. Rahul Shewale was then contacted by G Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs, who informed him that the matter had been investigated and that the Ministry of External Affairs had notified that 3 people including Rehan Siddiqui have been blacklisted based on the Consulate General of India in Houston’s recommendations.
The letter to Shewale further added that the Indian Embassy in Washington, DC, and the Indian Consulate General in Houston were also asked to engage with prominent influencers, cultural bodies, and genuine ‘Bollywood affiliated’ local agencies to ensure that appropriate information is conveyed to Indian actors and artists so that they can decouple themselves from such anti-national elements.
Who is Rehan Siddiqui?
It was reported in February 2020 that Rehan Siddiqui was on the radar of Indian authorities when it was uncovered that Siddique organizes Bollywood events and uses the proceeds to support anti-India operations overseas, especially with a focus on Kashmir.
Rehan runs a radio station on which he constantly promotes terrorist activities in Kashmir and promotes falsehoods. Rehan Siddiqui has vast expertise in the music and radio industry and is said to have organized over 400 successful concerts with many of Bollywood’s top performers.
The Indian diaspora in the United States has been outspokenly opposed to Siddiqui’s gatherings, demanding the authorities prevent Bollywood superstars from attending events organized by an ‘ISI agent.’ They have requested that Bollywood superstars be barred from appearing in performances organized by Siddiqui. They further claimed that Siddiqui and other Pakistani immigrants were organizing anti-CAA rallies in Houston as well as pro-Khalistan protests by the local Sikh population. Siddiqui’s radio station has also been accused of spreading anti-India propaganda in the aftermath of the Pulwama tragedy and the Balakot attacks.
