Delhi Anti-Hindu riots: Huffington Post spreads malicious report about GTB and LNJP hospitals discriminated against riot-victims

The “liberal-secular” media, which has been at the forefront of spreading false propaganda concerning the anti-Hindu riots, has yet again been exposed for its malicious false reporting.

The Huffington Post is now caught peddling false propaganda against the doctors of the reputed Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital and Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan hospital in Delhi claiming that the doctors of the hospital discriminated the victims of riots during the treatment.

In its report, the  Huffington Post had claimed that at least one doctor in the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital made communal remarks against a Delhi riot victim by referring to the person as “ugravadi” (militants/extremists) and “atankvadi” (terrorists) during treatment.

It had also made questionable claims stating that another doctor in the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) had asked the victim the full form of NRC and CAA, while another doctor in the same hospital accused another patient of indulging in violence.

The Huffington Post had based its misleading report based on the information released by a public health advocacy group named Jan Swasthya Abhiyaan (JSA). According to JSA, the claims in the report were based on information accessed by volunteers from the group who were working on the ground with patients in two Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government hospitals and elsewhere from 25 February till 1 March. Huffington Post provided absolutely no evidence to back these claims against the hospital doctors.

However, on Tuesday, the medical officials of the GTB hospital have outrightly dismissed the allegations made by the Huffington Post in its report and called it as malicious.

Speaking to Prasar Bharati, Dr Sunil Kumar, Medical Director of GTB Hospital in Delhi said that the reports claiming that riot-victims were discriminating was nothing but a baseless rumour and added that such misleading propaganda should be condemned in strongest possible words.

“I must clarify that we do not ask for the religion, name, caste from the patient during our initial assessment. It is our fundamental duty to treat these patients with the best of our capability…It is a completely baseless allegation against the doctors and staff of GTB hospital. It is so demoralising for us,” said senior doctor Sunil Kumar.

Dr Kishore Singh, Medical Director of LNJP Hospital, also slammed Huffington Post for its malicious reporting on anti-Hindu Delhi riots. Speaking to the media, Singh junked the Huffington Post report, called it “baseless and motivated”.

“It is wrong to suggest that doctors or paramedical staff are asking for religion or caste of Delhi Riots victims. There is no discrimination. All patients are treated equally irrespective of their caste/religion,” Dr Kishore Singh, Medical Director of LNJP Hospital.

There has been a concerted campaign across “liberal-secular” media to create a dangerous narrative out of the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi. Leftist propaganda website The Wire and NDTV were recently caught whitewashing how a Muslim-owned school was used as an attack base by Islamists and how a Hindu-owned school was brutalised. The Wire took vandalism and rampant and planned hooliganism by an Islamist mob and painted it as if a Hindu mob had attacked two schools that belonged to Muslims. Which was an absolute lie to begin with. The same sentiment was found in international media as well. The Wall Street Journal used a fabricated and made-up quote and attributed it to Ankur Sharma, brother of IB official Ankit Sharma who was brutally murdered by the rioting mob.

Exclusive: BJP leader Kapil Mishra in conversation with OpIndia about Delhi riots and subsequent blame games

The anti-CAA protests in Delhi which have been going on since the passage of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in December turned violent when mobs went rampaging on the streets of national capital February 24 onward. Soon the blame of anti-Hindu riots was placed on BJP leader Kapil Mishra and MP Anurag Thakur for their allegedly ‘provocative’ statements ahead of Delhi elections.

Speaking to OpIndia Editor Ajeet Bharti, BJP leader Kapil Mishra puts out his side of story. “What exactly did I say that Ankit Sharma was stabbed 400 times? Or that Shahrukh picked up gun and roamed about on the streets of Delhi? What made them collect petrol bombs and acid on the roofs? And more importantly, there are no riots when people chant ‘Bharat tere tukde honge’ or ‘Afzal hum sharminda hai’, painting Khilafat 2.0 on Jamia walls is not considered provocative nor is giving a call to hit the streets. But my request to the police to get the road opened is considered provocative,” says Mishra.

Mishra further says how the real anger is not against CAA, which does not affect the Indian citizens in any way but against the abrogation of Article 370 and the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict. “They are angry how did these two big decisions pass by peacefully,” he says.

Five foreigners asked to leave India for participating in anti-CAA protests and violating visa norms, says Government

Union Minister Nityanand Rai today said that five foreigners were asked to leave the country for participating in anti-CAA protests and thereby violating visa rules. In a written reply to a question informing the Lok Sabha on Tuesday he said that as reported by the Bureau of Immigration(BOI), five foreign nationals who violated visa norms by participating in the anti-CAA protests were asked to leave India.

Ever since the protests against CAA have erupted the authorities are acting in an extremely cautious manner to deal with agitators’ irresepective of religion, nationality, and origin. Recently, Polish student Kamil Siedcynski who studied at Kolkata’s Jadavpur University, Afsara Aneeka Meem, a Bangladeshi student who studied at Vishwa Bharati University Shanti Niketan, who was seen posting anti-CAA pictures on Facebook were asked to go back to their respective countries. In December 2019, Jacob Lindenthal, a German student at IIT Madras was sent back to his home country for indulging in Anti-government activities, Norwegian tourist Janne Mette Johansson was questioned by Foreign Regional office in Kochi for similar reasons.

The Citizenship Amendment Act proposes citizenship to persecuted six religious minorities of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan that have led to countrywide agitations after coming into action. However, the government already ensured that the Citizenship Amendment Act will not be taken back.

Netizens mock NDTV India Editor Ravish Kumar after Delhi riots shooter Mohammad Shahrukh is arrested

Canards propped up by NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar about the identity of the February 24 shooter who fired at Delhi Police officials were conclusively debunked when the Delhi Crime Branch today arrested Mohammad Shahrukh from Uttar Pradesh. Soon after his arrest, netizens mocked Ravish who had cleverly tried to portray that the Delhi riots shooter might be one ‘Anurag Mishra’ and not Mohammad Shahrukh as has been told by the Police and widely reported.

BJP leader Sambit Patra took a swipe at “journalist” Ravish Kumar for masquerading Shahrukh as Anurag Mishra.

Another Twitter user Shefali Vaidya expressed her revulsion for NDTV describing it as “disgusting cocktail of lies, half-truths and pure anti-Hindu bigotry”. Vaidya argued that if NDTV had any shame, they would ask Ravish Kumar to apologise for defaming innocent Anurag Mishra.

Taking a dig at NDTV, one Twitter user asserted that the arrest of Shahrukh by the Crime Branch would have sent the tendentious news organisation into mourning as Ravish Kumar’s handwork of projecting the perpetrator as Anurag Mishra fell flat.

Another Twitter user made a sarcastic jibe at Ravish Kumar’s longstanding habit of pursuing duplicitous journalism. In a satirical tweet, Twitter user Pramila stated the conundrum faced by Kumar these days. “This is the biggest problem in recent times. I have been following duplicitous journalism for a long time now but what is the reason that I am getting caught in Modi rule? Are the days of such duplicitous journalism in which one can perpetuate his agenda by passing off Mohammad Shahrukh as Anurag Mishra long over? There is an atmosphere of fear,” the tweet read lampooning NDTV “journalist” Ravish Kumar.

Amidst the riots that erupted in northeast Delhi following over the last few days, one Islamist shooter Shahrukh was spotted brandishing his gun at the Police and pro-CAA crowd and firing shots. In the ensuing commotion then, Shahrukh was successful in evading the police arrest.

NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar took misinformation and conjectures to a whole new level when he deviously attributed the shooter to be one Hindu named Anurag Mishra to assert that a Hindu had committed the crime, contrary to the media reports claiming a Muslim- Shahrukh’s involvement in the shooting. “Police ki haalat yeh hai ki abhi tak giraftar nahin hua hai. Police saaf kehti hai ki Shahrukh hai magar aap social media mein dekhiye Anurag Mishra bataya jaa raha hai. (Situation of Police is such that they have not yet arrested him. Police says his name is Shahrukh but if you see on social media, he is called Anurag Mishra),” he said.

Days after ‘journalist’ Ravish Kumar spread misinformation stating that the February 24 shooter who fired at Delhi Police personnel was not Mohammad Shahrukh but a Hindu man named ‘Anurag Mishra’, the victim of the Ravish’s fake campaign – Anurag Mishra started receiving a lot of threats online.

Mishra claimed that after his identity was revealed by the NDTV journalist, people mistook him for rioter Shahrukh and started abusing him. Mishra filed a police complaint with Varanasi police and sought protection from them as he feared the threats being directed at him and his family.

However, Kumar’s unscrupulous attempt to shield a Muslim perpetrator while besmirching Hindus by wrongly ascribing the crime to a Hindu was thoroughly defeated when the police caught hold of Mohammad Shahrukh who had opened 8 rounds of fire on Delhi Police on February 24 during the anti-Hindu riots in northeast Delhi.

Online Change petition filed demanding withdrawal of Padma awards of Barkha Dutt and Rajdeep Sardesai

IIMA alumni Anubha Sinha started a petition on Change.org to PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and India’s President Ram Nath Kovind appealing them to withdraw Padma awards of controversial journalists Barkha Dutt and Rajdeep Sardesai.

In her petition, she writes, “Rajdeep Sardesai was recently convicted in court of Peddling fake news and he has accepted and apologized. Barkha Dutta is infamous for her Niira Radia fixing audio tape. Do you think these people deserve to keep their Padma Awards?” Recently, Sardesai had issued an unconditional apology to an IPS officer for spreading fake news in 2007 in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case.

“Why should such liars, fake news peddlers, convicted criminals and fixers be allowed to practice journalism? They should be banned from Journalism and their Padma awards taken back”, Sinha wrote.

The Padma Shri is given by the Government of India to Indian citizens to recognise their distinguished contribution in various spheres of activity, including the arts, education, industry, literature, science, sports, social service and public life. It stands fourth in the hierarchy of civilian awards after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan. Rajdeep Sardesai, who was then the Political Editor of NDTV and Barkha Dutt, the then Managing Editor of NDTV 24×7 were conferred with the Padma Shri in 2008 by the then Congress-led UPA government.

Sardesai and Dutt have been time and again accused of peddling one-sided narrative and sometimes misreporting. Recently during Delhi anti-Hindu riots, Sardesai tried to pin the blame of BJP leader Kapil Mishra but locals dismissed it by saying how Mishra is not to be blamed. In January, ahead of Delhi elections, he shared fake news on Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally and deleted tweet twice when reality was pointed out. In fact, after almost two decades, Sardesai even admitted that PM Modi was not responsible for 2002 riots as Gujarat chief minister and that the media had sensationalised the riots.

Similarly, Barkha has also been accused of one-sided reportage. Recently, she came under fire after the Jamia ‘sheroes’ she glamorised turned out to be terrorist sympathiser and called India a fascist state for executing terrorist Yakub Memon. Her reportage of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack also came under fire for endangering the lives of 100s of civilians.

United Nations asks India to mediate between Israel and Palestine

In a bid to seek a peaceful resolution in the prolonged conflict between Israel and Palestine, the United Nations is now considering to rope in India to try and resolve the same. Earlier this month, a delegation of the United Nations on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People(CEIRPP) met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and senior officials in the ministry.

The United Nations delegation included UN Ambassadors and Representatives of Senegal(Committee Chair); and the State of Palestine(Committee Observer). Since India has good relations with both Israel and Palestine, the delegation sought to engage India to play a more proactive role in the settling of the question.

As per the official statement released, the UN group pursues to focus on the diplomatic and political support of India for a peaceful solution on the conflict between Palestine and Israel, and engaging Indian counterparts on synergies in capacity building for staff and institutions of the State of Palestine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first-ever Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel in the year 2017. The standalone visit to Israel raised many eyebrows on the topic of India-Palestine relations but those were also faded when Modi went to Palestine in February 2018.

US Presidential aspirant Elizabeth ‘Pocahontas’ Warren, who lied about being Native American, promises to fight for ‘freedom’ of Kashmir

Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democratic presidential aspirant for the 2020 Elections, has condemned ‘anti-Muslim violence’ in India and committed herself to “fighting for the rights and freedom of the people of Kashmir”. The Senator from Massachusetts hasn’t been performing very well in the Democratic Primaries thus far and going into Super Tuesday, the momentum is decisively against her.

The comments against India were made in a new plan Elizabeth Warren released on Tuesday for Muslim Communities in the USA. The abrogation of Article 370 and Kashmir figure into the political equations of the USA because Radical Islamists in the country consider Kashmir to be a matter that concerns the Ummah. After Vermont Senator and Warren’s rival in the Democratic Primaries, Bernie Sanders, made a pro-Jihad stance regarding Kashmir at an event organized by the ISNA which has links to terrorism, it appears Warren has decided to tread a similar trajectory.

Part of Elizabeth Warren’s Foreign Policy

Elizabeth Warren said in her plan, “Elizabeth knows we must stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. That includes speaking out against China’s cruel, bigoted treatment of its Uighur minority and to hold China accountable for its abuses; fighting for reconciliation and accountability for the atrocities committed against the Rohingya in Burma; condemning anti-Muslim violence in India and fighting for the rights and freedom of the people of Kashmir; and holding allies like Saudi Arabia to account for abuses of human rights.” As anyone aware of the nature of Kashmiri separatism knows fully well, it is Jihad that is being waged against India and any support for it is equivalent to supporting Radical Islamic Terrorism.

The Massachusetts Senator’s plan for American Muslims appears to be a desperate attempt to pander to the one community that had been left out of her pandering efforts thus far. As part of her pandering initiative, Warren had earlier announced that if she’s elected president, then any future Secretary of Education will need the approval of a transgender child she met last year. She had said that the transgender child will interview the potential Secretary of Education before any appointment is made. As it so happened, it didn’t help her with her voters and she continues to fail at winning the support of the electorate.

Elizabeth Warren has also lied about her race in the past. She claimed that she was Native American in order to gain employment as a professor at the Harvard Law Faculty. An exhaustive Boston Globe investigation in September 2018 reported that Warren’s “claim to Native American ethnicity was never considered by the Harvard Law faculty, which voted resoundingly to hire her, or by those who hired her to four prior positions at other law schools.”

Then, Harvard used her ‘Native American’ identity to amplify its diversity credentials and as a rebuttal to criticism of its hiring practices. Her lie had prompted US President Donald Trump to assign her the nickname ‘Pocahontas‘, a designation she hasn’t been able to shrug off yet. Warren had even taken a DNA test to prove that she was Native American but when the results came out, it proved exactly the opposite. The designation of ‘Pocahontas’ will play a major part should she manage to become the Democratic nominee through a brokered convention.

Senator Elizabeth Warren joins the growing list of Democratic politicians who have been using the internal matters of India to score brownie points among their own electorate. Her rival Bernie Sanders and US Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar had previously adopted an anti-India stance in order to secure the support of the Ummah. AOC and Sanders had also painted the communal riots in Delhi,  where scores of Hindus were brutally murdered and Hindus suffered great damage to their property, as an anti-Muslim riot. Presumably, when Warren was referring to ‘anti-Muslim violence’ in India, she was referring to the Delhi Riots.

From ‘thulla’ to ‘kabile tareef’: Sea-change in how Arvind Kejriwal talks about Delhi police under Modi govt

The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal today had a customary meeting with PM Modi to discuss on topics ranging from the unprecedented violence in Delhi last week to the coronavirus pandemic reaching the National Capital. The AAP chief convened a media briefing to inform them about the salient points of his discussion with PM Modi.

However, what stood out in today’s media briefing was Arvind Kejriwal’s polite deference and admirable praise for the Delhi Police. Heaping praise on Delhi Police, Arvind Kejriwal stated that the police was outstanding in stemming the vile rumours that emanated in the city on Sunday.

“There were strong rumours flying high and wild in Delhi on this Sunday. There was an atmosphere of fear and panic across the National Capital. But the Delhi Police played an exceptional role in containing the panic. The Delhi Police officials got on the ground to dispel the rumours and made appeals to people to maintain calm and peace. It is commendable the way the police tried to stop the rumours in the city and avert a major untoward incident,” Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal’s approbatory remarks for Delhi Police underscores the profound transformational change in views of the Aam Aadmi Party chief with regards to the police. From referring a Delhi Police official with a pejorative term- ‘thulla’ in 2015, Kejriwal has come a long way in granting the well-deserving respect the officials of police, who put their lives on the line every single day.

In 2015, a brash Kejriwal had used a derogatory term ‘thulla’ for policemen to express his frustration over AAP government’s constraints in ensuring the effective functioning of the Anti-corruption branch. However, with 5 years of experience in politics, Kejriwal seems to have realised that mutual-respect and co-operation is the sine qua non for the smooth and efficient functioning of a state. It is this sobering realisation that has made Kejriwal tamp down his arrogance and acknowledge the difficulties faced by the police officials while discharging their duties.

While Kejriwal has undergone a sea-change in his views about the Delhi Police under Modi government, leaders in his party have continued ridiculing the Delhi Police. Last week, AAP convener Mayur Panghaal made a derogatory remark against martyred IB sleuth Ankit Sharma who was killed by a murderous mob sheltered inside AAP corporator Tahir Hussain’s house. In a Facebook status update, referring to Sharma as a ‘thulla’, Panghaal said, “So a thulla called Ankit Sharma was found in the gutter today. Somehow I can’t feel sorry for any dead thulla so spare me the elegy.”

It is also notable to mention that AAP corporator Tahir Hussain, who is accused of enabling the murderous Muslim mob in unleashing their carnage against the Hindus in Chand Bagh, is currently on the lam, fleeing the Delhi Police. Tahir Hussain’s house in Moonga Nagar was used as a base by a violent Muslim mob to throw stones, bricks and petrol bombs on the Hindus in the region and to vandalise the Shiva temple situated across the street.

All Bangladeshis living in Bengal are Indian citizens, Mamata Banerjee says, read her views on the same issue when she was not the CM

The West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has stated that all Bangladeshis living in Bengal are Indian citizens.

Addressing a public meeting, Mamata Banerjee said on Tuesday that those who have from Bangladesh and have been voting in elections are citizens of India and they are not required to apply for citizenship afresh.

“Those who have come from Bangladesh are citizens of India. They have got citizenship. You don’t need to apply for citizenship again. You have been casting your votes in elections, electing PM and CM. Now they are saying that you are not citizens. Don’t believe them,” she said.

The chief minister, who is well known for her vote bank and appeasement politics to gather Muslim votes, also asserted she will not let “even a single person” be driven out of Bengal. She said no refugee, living in the state, will be deprived of citizenship.

The Trinamool Congress chief was quick at launching attacks at the central government over the Delhi violence, by saying: “Don’t forget this is Bengal. What happened in Delhi will never be allowed to happen here. We do not want Bengal to turn into another Delhi or another Uttar Pradesh.”

This is not the first time the Trinamool Congress chief has displayed her double standards regarding the NRC. In August 2018, Mamata Banerjee had slammed the Assam NRC (National Register for Citizens) draft list  saying, she did not want to see her “motherland divided.” She had then said she did not support the NRC in Assam, claiming that it could lead to unrest in the country.

In her futile attempt to paint BJP as an anti-Bengali party, Mamata had then in a bizarre statement compared illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to Hilsa fish and Sondesh, a Bengali sweetmeat.

However, in contrary, a video from 2005 shows that she had raised the same issue in the Lok Sabha, only at that time she had alleged that illegal immigrants from Bangladesh had spelt disaster for West Bengal.

On 4th August 2005, when Banerjee was in the Opposition and the state was under the CPI(M) rule, she held very different views on the issue. During a session in the Lok Sabha, Banerjee had raised the issue of illegal immigrants in West Bengal, saying that illegals migrants from Bangladesh have spelt disaster for the state.

Taking street-level protest into the Parliament, she had stepped into the well of the house after being disallowed to raise this issue in the Lok Sabha and was highly condemned for throwing the papers at the Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, Charanjit Singh Atwal, threatening to resign and storming out of the house.

Ironically, she had stated then, “Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants are a part of voter’s list in West Bengal. The state government has done nothing about it. Therefore, the issue must be discussed”.

It is bizarre to see the CM of an Indian state declaring foreigners living in India as Indian citizens. As per reports, millions of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, and Rohingya Muslims have infiltrated into India and have managed to obtain fake Indian identity documents via fraudulent means. It is not clear why a CM would bat for illegal immigrants casting votes in India. Bengal has been notorious for its porous border that facilitates illegal immigrants, mostly Muslims. The border districts of West Bengals are also the hotbed of terrorism, counterfeit currencies and smuggling.

The Bengal CM’s statement sounds like she is supporting illegals voting in Indian elections. It raises some questions. Why should people from other countries vote here? Is Mamata Banerjee supporting illegal immigrants voting in elections because she thinks that is her core vote bank?

Kashmir wing of terror group Al-Qaeda says recent Delhi riots have ‘energised’ the jihadis

Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH), the Kashmir-based wing of al-Qaeda has issued a statement in which it said that the US peace deal with Taliban and the anti-Hindu Delhi riots have energised the Jihadis in Kashmir.

According to a report by New18, the statement hails: “the glorious times when the crusader’s army in Khorasan have signed the final document of their defeat and in such a hopeful season when Indian Muslims have decided not to bear the atrocity and oppression of Hindu polytheist groups”.

The Kashmir based terrorist organisation in its statement vowed to “free the land of Kashmir from the Hindu polytheists, and will implement the shari’a law”. It also said it would continue fighting until the Masjid-e-Aqsa [in Jerusalem] and Babri Masjid are not free from kuffar [the unbelievers]”.

In its first statement since the Government of India ended Kashmir’s autonomy in August, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind saluted the killing of ethnic-Kashmiri jihadists Jehangir Rafiq Wani Raja Umar Maqbool, Saadat Thokar, last month on the outskirts of Tral in southern Kashmir. “We give glad tidings to the ummah [Muslim nation] of the martyrdom of its sincere and loyal sons”.

It is pertinent to note here that the Anti-Hindu Delhi riots in which the Islamists had run amok engaging in arson, stone-pelting, vandalism, brutal killing of innocent people in the national capital, has left a total of 87 people dead and around 300 people injured with bricks, stones, sticks, and other sharp weapons.

Even though al-Qaeda remains marginal in Kashmir’s jihadist landscape, there have been signs that its influence is growing among a section of young people.

In June last year, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH) released a video announcing the successor of Zakir Musa as 30-year-old Hameed Lelhari, a native of Pulwama and member of Islamist organization Jamiat-Ahl-e-Hadith. Hours after which the Al Qaeda released a video praising Zakir Musa’s martyrdom.

The Kashmiri group Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind is supported by the Al Qaeda and is regarded as its branch in Kashmir.

Zakir Rashid Bhat, an engineering college dropout, had founded al-Qaeda’s Kashmir unit in 2017. In one video, Bhat appeared under the al-Qaeda banner, accusing Indian Muslims of cowardice, and calling on them to engage in jihad against the government.

Then in July 2017, al-Qaeda had announced the formation of the Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, saying, “The jihad in Kashmir has reached a stage of awakening as the Muslim nation of Kashmir has committed to carry the flag of jihad to repel the aggression of tyrant Indian invaders”.

Zakir Musa is the former chief of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind who was killed on May 23 in an encounter in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. In 2017, he had threatened to liberate India from the Hindus. Mainstream media was caught in its effort to whitewash the slain terrorist.
