Shocker after Telangana rape and murder case: Rape victim’s name ‘trends’ on porn sites as most searched video

In what can be seen as a glimpse into the perverse minds, the Telangana rape victim’s name is on the top of ‘trends’ in search results for video clips on porn websites. A screenshot had gone viral on social media where the Hyderabad rape victim’s name was most searched for ‘video clips’ to check whether any video clips of the heinous crime have been uploaded on porn websites.

The body of the young veterinarian Dr Preeti Reddy (name changed) was found charred in Telangana’s Hyderabad where she was dumped after brutally gang raped by four men. The brutality of the case has sent shockwaves across India. However, the perversion of trying to look for the video clip of the brutal rape on porn sites is disgusting beyond words. This when neither the confession of the accused nor any police statement mentions any possibility of the culprits video recording the same.

Not willing to believe that humanity could stoop so low, some Twitter users verified the claims themselves.

27-year-old Dr Preeti Reddy (name changed) was returning home from work a little after 8 pm to pick her vehicle, she noticed a flat tire. She immediately called her sister, who suggested that she leave her two-wheeler at the toll plaza and take a cab home. Before she could that, two of the accused, Muhammad Ali and Chenna Keshavulu, approached her, who offered to take her vehicle for repair. The woman was then ambushed and dragged into the bushes by the accused barely 50 meters from Tondupally toll plaza behind a line of trucks that was parked near the road. She was forcefully fed whiskey and brutally raped repeatedly before she was killed by strangulation. The accused wrapped her in a blanket and set her dead body on fire. Her charred body was found under an underpass next morning.

MP Education Board prints ‘Gandhiji’ instead of ‘gambling’ in school test paper, faces criticism

The Madhya Pradesh and the State Education Board has stoked a controversy after it committed a huge blunder by replacing the word ‘gambling’ with the word ‘Gandhiji’ in class 10 preparatory exam paper.

According to the reports, the embarrassing error appeared in a 45-minute model test paper to prepare weak students before they appear for the final exams.

In reply to a question on what were the qualities of ‘subuddhi’ (righteous man) and ‘kubuddhi’ (immoral man), the answer read “kubuddhi was a wicked man and led a life of drinking and Gandhiji”, instead of ‘drinking and gambling’.

Class 10 exam paper

Many people have raised serious questions on the editing standards of papers. Following the outrage, the Congress-led state government ordered a probe into the “printing mistake” which cropped up in the test paper.

Madhya Pradesh Education minister Prabhuram Choudhury took cognisance of the matter and said that the department will act against the responsible person. ‘We will look into the matter and take strict action against the person responsible for this”.

Commissioner of Directorate of Public Relations, Jaishree Kiyawat said that the mistake was not intentional but it was a typing error and the proofreader of the test-paper has been issued a notice for the same. “The paper was for remedial classes held for weaker students to help them prepare for the boards. We take such mistakes very seriously and have also issued a correction for the same,” said the officer.

This is not the first time that the Madhya Pradesh State Education Board (MPSEB) has committed such mistakes. As per a report in Times Of India, In the General Hindi textbook of Class 12, the death year of India’s Missile Man and former president APJ Abdul Kalam was printed as 1915 instead of 2015. The books for class 12 were distributed in July this year.

Similarly, the English textbook of class 8 also mentions the date of birth of Kalpana Chawala March 17, 1962, instead of July 1, 1961.

Recently, a controversy had erupted over a similar issue after an official booklet of the Odisha government had described the death of MK Gandhi as an “accident” triggering a massive controversy in the state last month.

The two-page booklet titled “Aama Bapuji: Eka Jhalaka” (Our Bapuji: A Glimpse) was published on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The booklet presents a brief account of his teachings, works and links with Odisha. However, the booklet also states that MK Gandhi “died due to accidental reasons in a sudden sequence of events on January 30, 1948, at Delhi’s Birla House”.

Watch: ‘Hypothetical’ question to ANI Editor Smita Prakash at a lit fest leaves journalist Barkha Dutt uncomfortable

At the recently concluded Mangaluru Lit Fest, a ‘hypothetical’ question from the audience member to news agency ANI Editor Smita Prakash left journalist Barkha Dutt, who was sharing the stage at that time, quite red-faced, to put it mildly.

An audience member puts forth a question about unholy nexus between influential journalists and lobbyists reminding everyone about the ghosts of the Radia tapes which let the country know how the narrative was set during the UPA times. The audiene member asks Prakash, “Smita, we are talking about media leanings and employers. Here is a straight hypothetical question. You are a media boss. What would you do if hypothetically you found that one of your journalists or reporters was found to be in cahoots with lobbyists and fixing government ministries. Would you sack that person?”

Prakash says how as an Editor, it is not easy to sack these days. Gathering her composure at the googly thrown at her while sharing a stage with Barkha, whose alleged audio tapes with lobbyist Niira Radia ‘fixing’ ministerial berths had shook the political landscape in 2010, Prakash said this kind of lobbying does not work in her organisation. “Fixing, lobbying, positioning… Firstly we are not important enough to do it. And I don’t think the people who work with me, none of us are involved in such jobs. It is not just fixing ministries. You now see journalists openly write books about how they were part and parcel of India Pakistan peace talks. ‘I told ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan that you should start the bus service. I told ex-General of Pakistan that you should begin talks now. Or that elections should be held at this time. They are actually coming out in the open. Because now what has happened is journalists are 40-50 years’ experience in journalism, so they feel that they did it for the good of the country. Either you are reporting and you are a journalist, or you are a broker and whatever glorifying halo you might have of why you were doing a particular thing, whether for your organisation, whether for the good of the country, for the nation. The fact is you’re not a journalist, you’re a broker.”

Read:

When the Radia tapes controversy broke, it acquainted the country with how the narrative is set, Cabinet berths negotiated, the disgraceful nexus between journalists and politicians and the political impunity to brush aside the scam. Not only was this issue hastily swept under the rugs but also all the dramatis personae involved in brokering the deals in Delhi’s power corridors have escaped unscathed from its implications.

Some of those who have had central roles in these tapes have suddenly disappeared from the face of Earth. Others who were in the thick of the controversy have rubbished the tapes as doctored and extenuated themselves from any wrongdoing.

In fact, it is a glorious irony that one of them, Vir Sanghvi, who allegedly sought the lobbyist Niira Radia’s opinion on how ‘slanted’ does she wanted an article to be is today hosting a news programme with the name ‘Virtuosity’. The other journalist who featured in Radia tapes, M K Venu, today, has started his own leftist propaganda organisation ‘The Wire’ to counter the ‘supposed’ propaganda run by the MSM, notwithstanding the fact that he actively promotes fabricated and concocted stories through his social media account.

Another liberal lodestar, perhaps the cynosure of this story is Barkha Dutt, who sounded as an alleged conduit for Congress in the Radia tapes, relaying the information sought by Radia and seeking directions from her when in doubt. According to the conversation transcripts between her and Niira Radia, Radia was lobbying against the reappointment of Dayanidhi Maran to the post of Union IT and Communications minister and Barkha was allegedly actively mediating between the two parties to somehow end the stalemate and form a government at the centre.

In the 2009 elections, the Congress emerged as the single largest party but evidently, it was short of the 272-mark to claim a stake at the government. Congress needed DMK’s support to form the government. As a result, DMK came with a set of demands including Cabinet berths and ministerial positions for some of its ministers. The ensuing impasse sparked off a series of negotiation which the transcripts between Radia and Barkha allude to.

The impasse was eventually sorted out and A Raja from DMK was handed the ministry of IT and Telecom by the Congress then. It is pertinent to note that it was under A Raja, that the serious charges of arbitrarily allocating the 2G spectrum and crony capitalism were levelled against the government by the CAG.

This is not the first time Barkha Dutt has been left with an egg on her face on a public platform. Years ago on her show ‘The Buck Stops Here’ on NDTV while debating on corruption and lokpal, Dutt had asked Swami Agnivesh’s views on politicians stepping down on allegations of corruption.

Swami Agnivesh had responded with how would her reaction be if a ‘journalist’ who hosts a popular show is initiating debates on corruption while she herself is accused of indulging in it, should the journalist get themselves cleared of charges to have moral rights to hold debates? He has asked Dutt if such a journalist should step down.

New Delhi: Congress party leader chants ‘Priyanka Chopra Zindabad’ instead of Priyanka Gandhi

The Congress party, in an apparent mistake, chanted the name of Priyanka Chopra instead of Priyanka Gandhi in New Delhi. Congress former MLA Surender Kumar was involved in the process. In a video clip posted on social media, the Congress leader can be heard chanting the name of the Bollywood actress instead of their own leader. He also chanted the name of their interim president Sonia Gandhi and their former president Rahul Gandhi.

After chanting the names of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, he says Priyanka Chopra instead of Priyanka Gandhi. He was immediately corrected by a co-worker, and after that, he took the correct name of the Congress leader.

The Twitterati were not the ones to miss out and also had some fun about the flip about the clip.

The Congress party has developed a habit of having its foot in the mouth in recent times. Only today, senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah illegal immigrants while attacking the National Registrar of Citizens (NRC). It’s not really a surprise considering the fact that Rahul Gandhi has had such an impact on the work culture of the party for so long.

Hyderabad Rape Case: The accused were under influence of alcohol, confessed to their crimes, says police remand report

0

The remand report filed by the police in the shocking Hyderabad rape and murder case has revealed the brutalities inflicted by the perpetrators of the crime on the innocent woman. It now reveals that the four accused dragged her into an open plot, forced her to drink whiskey, hit her on the head, raped and killed her – all within one hour. The report details how the crime was committed in a detailed manner.

The remand report says that Muhammad Ali caught her hands, Shiva took hold of her legs, Naveen held her by her waist and together, they forcibly dragged her to the nearby bushes. She continued to scream and they shut her off by placing their hands over her mouth. It was Naveen who grabbed her phone and switched it off. They also fed her alcohol forcibly. Midway through her ordeal, she became unconscious. When she regained her consciousness, the accused decided to kill her.

It was Muhammad Ali who murdered her. He suffocated her to death. Naveen decided to keep her phone, power bank and wrist watch for himself. Then, they decided to dispose of her dead body with diesel and petrol. They found the bridge near the Ashiyana Hotel and decided to dispose of her body under it. The SIM card of the deceased was burnt along with her body. The accused have confessed to their crimes and have told the Police that they will lead them to the place where the deceased’s belongings were hidden.

According to the remand report, the Police also received help from one Lingaram Praveen Goud, who works at a petrol bunk in the area. He informed the Police that two men in a red scooter had tried to buy petrol in plastic bottles that night. However, he didn’t sell it to them because they looked suspicious. He also told the Police that he could help the Police identify the men. This helped the Police to nab the accused. Muhammad Ali was arrested first and the rest were arrested afterwards.

The remand report also notes that the plan was hatched under the influence of alcohol. It notes that at 5.30 pm on 27th November, the accused bought one 750 ml bottle of whiskey. They spotted the deceased for the first time as they were consuming alcohol. When they saw that she had parked her scooty at the spot and went somewhere, they decided that they will ‘satiate their sexual desire’ on her return. As per their plan, they went ahead and removed the air from the rear tire of her scooty. By the time she returned to the spot, it was late and they had already finished the bottle of whiskey and were already into their next bottle.

As Preeti Reddy (name changed) was returning home from work a little after 8 pm to pick her vehicle, she noticed a flat tire. She immediately called her sister, who suggested that she leave her two-wheeler at the toll plaza and take a cab home. Tamil Nadu: Class XI girl gang-raped by 6 men on her birthday and video-recorded the act, four arrested

In a heinous crime, a Class XI student who was celebrating her 17th birthday along with her male friend was gang-raped by six people. The act was also video-graphed by the accused.

According to the reports, the 17-year-old minor girl who was out with a male friend in a park to celebrate a birthday party was allegedly raped by six men. The incident took place on November 26 in Seeranayakan village of Coimbatore district in Tamil Nadu.

The city police have now arrested four of the accused on Friday within hours of her mother lodging a complaint. A special team has been formed to nab the other two accused. The accused have been booked under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and Sections 354 (assault on the woman to outrage her modesty) and 506(ii) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to police, the girl’s friend had taken her to the park around 8 pm on the day. As they were about to return around 9 pm, the two were attacked by the six-member gang. They assaulted the male friend, dragged him to an isolated place near the park, stripped and video-graphed him. They then gang-raped the girl in front of him and video-graphed that too, the police said.

Later, the gang members let them off. The police said the minor girl spent the night at the boy’s house. She returned home the next evening and told her mother about the incident. Subsequently, the girl and her mother lodged a complaint with the RS Puram all-woman police on Friday.

The team headed by Police inspector Prabhadevi subsequently arrested T Rahul (21), R Prakash (22), S Karthikeyan (28), and S Narayanamurthy (30), all residents of Seeranaickenpalayam on Friday. They were produced before the district Mahila court and remanded in judicial custody in the Coimbatore central prison.

The horrific crime at Coimbatore has occurred at a time when the entire country is shocked following the barbaric killing of a veterinary doctor in Hyderabad, who was brutally raped, murdered and her body was set ablaze on Wednesday.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury strikes again: Labels Amit Shah and Narendra Modi as ‘illegal immigrants’ while attacking NRC

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, leader of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha, has labeled Narendra Modi and Amit Shah as illegal immigrants. Calling them migrants, he added, “We will get to know whether illegal or legal afterwards.” Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was speaking in the context of the NRC.

The senior Congress leader from West Bengal said, “Hindustan is for everyone, for Hindus and Muslims.. I can say that Amit Shah ji, Narendra Modi ji, you are yourself illegal immigrants. Your home is Gujarat, you came over to Delhi. You are yourselves migrants.” It appears that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is either not aware of the difference between illegal immigrants from other countries and Indian citizens or he is deliberately trying to mislead the public.

Considering the fact that he is an elected representative to the Indian Parliament, the former seems hardly plausible. However, one also has to keep in mind that Rahul Gandhi has impacted the culture of the Congress party in a significant manner over the years. In recent times, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has made a habit of making foot-in-the-mouth comments.

Folllwing the abrogation of Article 370, he kicked up a storm by questioning the government whether Article 370 and the state of Jammu and Kashmir is an internal matter. He questioned how can matters related to Jammu and Kashmir be ‘internal’ if it is being monitored by the UN since 1948. Earlier in June, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had likened Prime Minister Modi to a ‘gandi naali’.

More recently, in November, Chowdhury had used derogatory remarks against the European Parliament members who had recently visited Jammu and Kashmir to review the situation. He had said that the European delegation that visited Kashmir were all “kiraye ke tattu (hired hacks)”.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is not the first person to label Indians as immigrants while criticising the NRC. AAP leaders including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal have made similar comments, saying BJP leaders living in Delhi will have to leave Delhi if NRC is implemented, ignoring the fact that NRC only identifis Indians and non-Indians, it does not prevent Indians in one state to live in another state.

Vijayawada: Raids on meat shops adulterating mutton with beef, license of three shops cancelled and 200 kg adulterated meat seized

0

The veterinary wing of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) on Friday conducted surprise inspections at meat shops and canceled the licenses of three shops that were mixing beef with mutton.

According to the reports, the veterinary wing chief Nuthalapati Sridhar had received complaints from the locals and conducted surprise inspections at multiple locations. On receiving several complaints, the VMC had decided to investigate the claims of mixing of beef in mutton by the butchers across the city.

The special teams headed by a veterinary assistant surgeon (VAS) Sridhar carried out surprise checks at Moghalrajpuram, Ayodhya Nagar, Jammi Chettu Centre and near Amma Kalyana Mandapam and seized 200 kg of adulterated meat. The civic body also imposed a penalty of Rs 10,000 on all three shops and canceled the trade licenses.

“People should be cautious while purchasing meat. One should check the seal of the civic body along with the date of slaughter. We will continue inspections in the city and take stringent actions on meat traders in the coming days,” Sridhar said.

Reportedly, the butchers allegedly mixed beef with mutton as a measure to earn quick money as beef is much cheaper than mutton. The beef is available at an affordable price of Rs 250 to Rs 300 per kg, in comparison to the mutton being sold at approximately Rs 500 to Rs 600 per kg in Vijayawada.

The VAS said that a continuous seven-day drive has already begun to sensitise the butchers to encourage their customers to bring steel utensils for carrying the meat, in order to stop the circulation of single-use plastic bags. He added that a notice will be given to each shop, containing a list of measures to be taken upon their respective premises, including selling of meat in a clean and hygienic atmosphere.

The action by the Vijayawada authorities was perhaps prompted after there were reports that illegal beef trade had rampantly increased in the state. Recently, the Andhra Pradesh police had busted a beef smuggling racket and seized about 10 tonnes of suspected beef.

The meat was being smuggled in a container from Visakhapatnam to Chennai and the vehicle driver and cleaner were taken into custody. During the investigation, the accused confessed that the meat smuggling gang has been operating for the last few years.

Burn him the way she was burnt: Mother of one of the accused in Hyderabad gang-rape

As per a report by Times Now, mother of one of the accused said that he should be hanged for his crime and she empathised with the victim’s mother.

In a video, the mother of one of the accused is heard saying if her son is wrong, he should be but burnt the same way he burned the gang-rape victim. “Isn’t the victim also the daughter of a mother? I am suffering today, I can imagine what the girl’s mother is going through,” she said.

Earlier today, the police remand report had revealed chilling details about the brutal gang-rape and murder of Dr Preeti Reddy (name changed). The police reportedly also have reasons to believe that she was sexually assaulted even after she had died.

On 27th November, as Preeti Reddy (name changed) was returning home from work a little after 8 pm to pick her vehicle, she noticed a flat tyre. She immediately called her sister, who suggested that she leave her two-wheeler at the toll plaza and take a cab home. Assam: 84 people murdered in witch-hunting cases between 2011-16, 23 since BJP came to power

0

A total of 107 people have been killed in Assam since 2011 due to witch-hunting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary informed the state Assembly on Saturday. Of the 107, eighty-four people died during the five years of the Congress government and twenty-three people died since May, 2016 when the BJP was elected to power in the state.

“Between 2011 and May 2016, before the BJP-led government came to power in the state, around 84 people were killed in witch-hunting incidents. From June 2016 till October this year, at least 23 more were killed in similar incidents,” Patowary said in reply to a question from Congress MLA Nandita Das.

“Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district registered the highest number of witch-hunting cases, with 22 people killed in such incidents, from 2011 to October this year. Neighboring Chirang registered the second-highest (19) witch-hunting cases during the same period,” said an official report. The report also said that cases of witch-hunting were recorded in at least 21 districts of the state, however, the maximum number of cases were registered in Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD).

The Assam Witch Hunting (Prohibition, Prevention and Protection) Act, 2015 was notified by the state government in October, last year and numerous steps are being undertaken to spread awareness about the issue in the state, Patowary said. Of the 23 killed during the BJP regime, 12 were men and 11 of them were women.
