After the exhausting ‘Temple run’ by Rahul Gandhi, now its time for Iftar

0

The president of the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi has decided to hold a grand Iftar party on June 13. It is expected that most of the prominent members close to the party will attend the meet.

Rahul Gandhi will be hosting Iftar party for the first time since he took the charge as the Congress president. The grand Iftar party will be held at Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi, chief of Congress Minority cell chief Nadeem Javed said. Congress has celebrated Iftar party officially when they were in power. The then Prime Minister used to host the grand Iftar party during his tenure.

This party is being held after the span of three years, as last time Congress had organized it in 2015, under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi. It is expected that this party will be attended by leaders of all faiths and communities. It is also said that all the leaders of opposition parties will be invited along with the top diplomats. This event organized by Congress party is keenly watched as Congress is trying to woo as many opposition parties to fight against the BJP in the next elections.

This comes after the President of India has decided not to celebrate any religious functions officially in Rastrapathi Bhavan, as it involves spending from the public exchequer.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao decision to host Iftar party has caused a controversy. Activists have moved to court seeking to stay the celebrations as it involves public money. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also hosted an Iftar but Congress leaders stayed away from it.

While Rahul Gandhi had gone on a ‘Temple run’ during Gujarat elections and allied with radical Islamist group PFI during Karnataka elections, news surfaced of Congress providing tacit support to Maoists during the Bhima Koregaon violence. With these developments, it seems evident that Rahul Gandhi’s strategy is that of Soft Hindutva in public, minority appeasement in private and creating caste divide in secret.

‘Congress is finished, a man who spent 50 years in Congress visited RSS headquarter’ : Owaisi

Former President Pranab Mukherjee addressed the ‘Tritiya Varsha Sangha Shiksha Varg’ on Thursday. Since his address, a plethora of people have commented on the possible implications of such an address on India and the Indian Society.

On Friday, The AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi took a dig at Congress over Mukherjee’s visit to the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. According to him, this visit by the Congress veteran signifies the end of the Congress Party. Owaisi said that Congress is finished as a man (Pranab Mukherjee) who has spent 50 years in Congress and also the former President of India visited the RSS headquarters. He questioned after this incident how anyone can have any hope from a party such as this. Owaisi was speaking at an event in Hyderabad.

Owaisi brought in the reference of Nathuram Godse in his tirade against the Congress. He said that his visit to the RSS headquarters is against the Congress party’s secular credentials.

He also expressed his reservations about the appreciation shown by Mukherjee to the founder of the RSS, KB Hedgewar. Mukherjee has called Hedgewar ‘ a great son of Mother India’ in his speech at Nagpur.

Owaisi hinted at the need of a third alternative to the Bharatiya Janata Party. This proposed coalition of regional parties hopes to put up a fight against the BJP in the coming 2019 general elections. Although, questions as to how this coalition will be formed, who will be the face of this ‘third front’ are yet to be answered.

After Rahul Gandhi, ‘UP ka ladka’ Akhilesh Yadav dabbles with Soft Hindutva

After Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Temple Run‘ spree ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections last year, it appears his fellow ‘UP ka ladka’, former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, has decided to adopt a soft Hindutva approach as well.

In his tweet on Thursday, he proclaimed that everyone has to come together to protect cows and the Ganga river while insinuating that the BJP only uses the issues for electoral gains and that people no longer have any hope from them. In the past, Akhilesh Yadav has asserted that everyone had the right to lead life the way they chose to and nobody should interfere with it while daring the BJP to ban the export of beef. During his Chief Minister, his government passed an order to ban the slaughter of cows and illegal transport of milch animals but was never implemented strictly.

It appears that the recent electoral setbacks have had a profound impact in the manner the secular parties conduct themselves. The Congress party had even proclaimed Rahul Gandhi to be a ‘Janeu dhaari Hindu’ after the controversy at Somnath Temple where the Congress President had allegedly declared himself a Non-Hindu. Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav’s newfound ally, BSP’s mayor had suggested the cancellation of the ancient Nauchandi Mela because she believed it will disturb Muslims during Ramzan.

For this separatist, breaking India is the objective but taxpayer’s money still his birthright

Pakistani stooge Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s close aide Ghulam Nabi Sumji advocating Pakistan’s cause has no qualms about seeking Indian alms.

As reported, Sumiji, a former MLA wrote to Mehbooba Mufti government requesting a hike in his pension and release of his arrears, citing an amendment earlier this year to the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Act through which the pensions of former legislators were revised.

“We are at war with India against its military presence here. But pension and arrears are my right and why should I leave it,” Sumji told while talking to ‘Rising Kashmir’.

Sumji was an MLA of Muslim United Front (MUF) from 1987-89 and had represented Hom- the ShaliBug constituency of Anantnag. He resigned in 1989 when terrorism erupted in the state and joined Hurriyat Conference to represent Muslim Conference.

Although nothing legally bars the former legislators of all hues to claim pension and dues, ethical questions arise when pro-Pakistan separatists continuously in a state of war with India claim dues from the same.

A Kashmir onlooker said that separatists stand exposed before the people. “The investigations and the subsequent raids carried by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) across Kashmir have proved it beyond doubt that the group of separatists has been receiving huge money from Pakistan and other Gulf countries to burn Kashmir and they have been successful in keeping the pot boiling for the past 30-years.

“He further said that “Sumji’s statement has made it clear that separatists in Kashmir are obsessed with the currency notes and their only aim is to fill their coffers by selling the dead bodies of Kashmiris.”

The sources said the Assembly had approved the hike and communicated the decision to Sumji. Sumji admitted that he receives the pension and had applied for a revision citing the recent amendment.

However, his demand and the approval by the government raised a lot of discontent amongst the citizens who tried making a point through Twitter.

Netizens lashed out saying,

Its time India stops feeding parasites. It is rightly said that people who take oath as MLAs swear by the Constitution of India and take a pledge to safeguard it. Demands of elements like Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s and his close aide Ghulam Nabi Sumji, who claim the rights of an MLA but have turned into traitors ranting against India should be completely brushed aside.

Amit Shah mocks Rahul Gandhi: ‘Babua, what did Congress do in 70 years’?

Rahul Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress has been relentless in his attacks toward Bharatiya Janata Party. Today, BJP president Amit Shah mocked Rahul Gandhi and asked him to first give an account of works of three generations of his family that ruled India for nearly 5 decades.

Shah was addressing workers of Jaipur Rural loksabha constituency which is represented by union minister for Youth Affairs Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. He took a jibe at the Congress for celebrating winning by-polls, he stated his happiness over having such opponents who are happy for winning a few by-polls even when it lost power in several states. Shah’s comment was directed at the fact that the Congress Party lost 14 states while BJP lost eight by-polls.

Deliberating on Gandhi’s nagging and irrational claim about various schemes of central government not being implemented, Shah laid out detailed numbers of the work done by BJP in the last four years. It is during this remark he mocked Rahul Gandhi by calling him a Babua (Child).

“’Arre babua‘, tell me, brother, what you have done in 70 years? Your three generations were in power for 70 years and if they had done all these works then it would not be our luck to provide people toilets and poor mothers gas cylinders.”

Shah further stated that the opposition is disconnected from the ground reality and it has happened because in Congress the soul of the Party is its Leaders, whereas In BJP the workers are the soul. The BJP president urged party workers to work overtime to ensure the victory of BJP in upcoming Rajasthan poll so that the winning streak of BJP can continue after it emerged as the single largest party in Karnataka.  Here also, Shah mocked Rahul Gandhi’s frequent vacations by saying that the temperature in Rajasthan and Gujarat goes up to 50 degrees and it gets difficult to tolerate such temperatures for someone like Rahul Gandhi.

He credited the workers’ diligence for BJP governments in 20 states and asked them to propagate the party’s ideology and enhance the prestige of the Country and not merely to win elections and get to power.

No ABC, you didn’t ‘step into a complex political problem’, you denied genocide and perpetuated a dangerous lie

A snippet of Priyanka Chopra starrer Quantico’s latest episode ‘The Blood of Romeo’ which aired on June 1st made its way to Twitter. The snippet was about a Hindu terrorist, his identity asserted by the Rudraaksh Mala (a “Hindu Roserie” which is a “last thing a Pakistani Muslim would wear”, of course, said by Priyanka Chopra in a horribly fake accent with an annoying nasal twang) he was wearing. Why was a “Hindu terrorist” getting caught in Manhattan, you ask? Here is where it gets even more interesting. He was trying to “frame Pakistan in a mushroom cloud” that would “put America on India’s side forever”.

While creativity knows no facts and works of fiction can make ludicrous assertions, what this episode did was far beyond the realms of creativity and reasonability. After a massive backlash on Twitter, ABC “apologised”. They said :

The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.

It was amusing to see ABC assert that “the show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds” considering Joshua Safran, the creator and producer of Quantico had categorically said in an interview that it was deeply important to him that Quantico never features a “Muslim terrorist”. I quote a report from Vulture.com :

“For me, it was important to not ever put a Muslim terrorist on our show. There hasn’t been one.” He added that the show’s current season came close, but only for the sake of misdirection. “This year we have the appearance of one — which is a spoiler. But it’s not true,” he said. The guideline is just one of the ways Quantico is responding to the present political climate, according to Safran, who intends to significantly change the tone of the show. He revealed, “I called the network and I said, ‘Can we change the show?’ They said yes. We’re changing the show so that it can represent, in a dark time, more hope.” Yes, in the darkest of times, there is always TV.

Josh Safran is indeed a tolerant man. An interesting man. In 2016, when Quantico’s ratings were falling rapidly, he had decided to give the show a new direction. After Donald Trump’s election in the US, Safran said, “It’s been an interesting week because of course, none of us wants to deal with terrorism at this moment when a lot of us feel potentially terrorized.”

Hailing ‘West Wing‘, a political drama produced by NBC, as a model show, he said, “it was nice to see this hopeful president during a time of less hope. With a cast as inclusive as Quantico, it represents America but not the America that has just been elected.”

Safran’s basic premise is this: When Obama was President, it was a hopeful period and thus, showing scary images of terrorists and terrorist attacks was okay. But Trump’s election means the mood has changed to one of despondency, and hence, he wanted to change the tune of the show to inspire hope (assuming by not showing terrorists in their episodes).

It is unmissable that Trump’s repeated talk about illegal migrants and Islamic terrorism irked Safran. The “present political climate” has played a serious role, seemingly, in how the show, Quantico has been shaped.

When one puts his rants in context, one realises the depth of hate that was needed to air a ridiculous episode like the one which showed “Hindu Terrorists” trying to frame innocent Muslims from Pakistan. The depth of hate, and the level of propaganda.

When one connects the dots, one realises that the episode was certainly not a one-off and that a deeper malaise resulted in the debauchery. A product by a man (and a team that imitates the man) who is an insufferable “liberal”. A man who wants to shield the Muslim community from any criticism that might comes its way. A man who despises Nationalism. A man, who will just as quickly, brand a monkey stealing a banana as a terrorist than face the cold fact, that terrorism is synonymous with Islamic fundamentalism.

When Safran talks about the “current political scenario”, one realises that the “liberal” tirade here in India hasn’t been different. With the Congress meticulously spending years to paint Hindus as terrorists, to Rahul Gandhi proclaiming that “Hindutva terrorists” are a greater threat than JeM”. From the empty liberal rhetoric of the Media fraternity painting Hindus are “Brahmanical oppressors”, to using the term “Hindu nationalism” almost as a form of abuse. This, when not one case of Hindu terrorism exists. Even their “saffron terror” poster boys and girls were implicated in flimsy cases. Who doesn’t remember the ordeal of Col Purohit or that of Sadhvi Pragya? Who doesn’t remember Mani’s revelations about Congress’ desperation to built the saffron terror narrative? That Pakistani terrorists were exonerated just so the majority could be demonised. Who doesn’t remember the constant vilification of Hindus, over and over again?

The episode in question here was a manifestation of the malaise that was furthered by the “liberals” at home. And like two lovers divided by an ocean, Safran heartstrings were pulled. And how.

The Rudraaksh mala was another interesting aspect. Hindus generally aren’t the kinds who assert their religious identity. How many Hindus go to study abroad and attend classes with a tilak on their forehead? And that is not necessarily a desirable thing from the perspective of preservation of culture. But Quantico’s aim in the projection was indeed to equate fictional Hindu terrorists with Islamic ones. The subliminal messaging, too strong to miss.

In essence, the makers of Quantico equated the political atmosphere of the USA with that of India, considering the hollow rhetoric of liberals of both the worlds is so similar.

In doing so, ABC essentially, not only perpetuated a dangerous lie of Hindus being terrorists (no proof whatsoever) but became participants in the denials of genocide that Islamic terrorism has perpetuated all over the world. Even in the context of India, perhaps ABC or Safran forgot to research how deep the Indian wounds are with respect to Pakistan. The lives lost. The incessant terror attacks. The soldiers slain. The list is endless, and the numbers, heartbreaking. I won’t even bother enumerating these arguments with facts, because clearly, teaching a monkey how to play Mozart is an exercise in futility.

ABC must realise. There is no “complex political context” to the ire displayed by Hindus. This wasn’t about stifling freedom of art or any such humbug. ABC must ask itself what the repercussions would be had they decided the produce a show that portrayed Jews as the terrorists and Hitler as the victim who the Jews were trying to “frame in a mushroom cloud”.

The outrage was also partly directed at Priyanka Chopra. The only reason I find that ridiculous is because you can’t expect a half-brained pawn like her to realise the enormity of the situation. After all, she went to the Holocaust museum and clicked a selfie there. Clearly, the woman is clueless. The concepts of respect, reverence, the pain of the slain, the anguish of the victims are alien to her. After all, all that these Bollywood celebrities seem to understand, is the language of “roti”.

The treachery of our times lies in chasing livelihood, and not an honourable livelihood. Where even the ones who win the rat race, unpurposefully, mindlessly, soullessly, remain rats, after all.

Shooter appeals for funds to represent India in Junior world cup, Yogi govt immediately sanctions them

19 year old shooter Priya Singh who hails from Meerut – Uttar Pradesh, made her family proud when she became the one of the six shortlisted candidates to represent India in the ISSF Junior World Cup, which will be held in Germany from 22 June.

Though as reported by media outlets like Times of India and ANI, there was a spanner in the works. Priya who is the daughter of a labourer who earns about Rs 10,000 per month, hit a wall with regards to her dream. Which was, she couldn’t afford the expenses required to fund her participation which includes travel, accommodation costs estimated at about Rs 3-4 lakh.

Priya was also disadvantaged on the equipment front as she had come so far with the help of a borrowed rifle. And here “come so far” includes winning 17 medals between 2014-17 including a gold at the National shooting championships of 2016 and 2017.

As explained by reports, she was not immediately eligible for total government funding as she had ranked fourth in the six person strong merit list.

As per Rajiv Bhatia – secretary of National Rifles Association of India, they were sorting out a gun permit for Priya but expressed helplessness regarding the funding. He claimed that the top three shooters are fully supported by the government but the rest need to arrange their own travel and accommodation.

Desperate to not miss out on such a big tournament, Priya and her father knocked on the doors of moneylenders, wrote to PM Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for funds. The father even sold his buffalo for Rs 50,000 to somehow try and raise funds for his daughter.

After her desperate plea for support came into national limelight, common citizens vowed to help her using a crowd sourcing fund:

That though won’t be needed anymore as Yogi Adityanath while speaking to the media stated that he sanctioned an amount of Rs 4.5 lakh for Priya as soon as he was made aware about the matter. Meerut’s District Magistrate will be the one handling the issue:

It wan’t just the Yogi government and the citizens who got involved in the matter.

Neelam Kapur who is the Director General of Sports Authority of India assured that Priya would be given all possible facilities to come into the top three which would result in her being directly funded. She also informed that Priya is already part of the national camp which is fully funded by the government.

‘Rohingyas have come from Burma and will have to return’: Rajnath Singh

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday reiterated the government’s stand on illegal Rohingya migrants and asserted that “Rohingyans have come from Burma and will have to return.” Furthermore, he stated that an appropriate advisory has been issued to state governments asking them to identify Rohingyas living in the state and to ensure that they are not able to procure documents which would help them to stake claim to Indian citizenship in the future.

Rajnath Singh also stated that after illegal Rohingya migrants have been identified, the Ministry of External Affairs will take up the matter with the Myanmar government for their return to Burma. We had earlier reported on the advisory that was sent to state governments. The letter said that Rohingyas are a security threat and are involved in crime and anti-national activities. That some of them have managed to procure fraudulently Indian documents was also emphasized.

The NDA government has always taken a strong stance against Rohingyas, much to the chagrin of human rights activists. Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, had stated earlier that the Rohingyans are illegal immigrants and must be deported. A Bangladeshi newspaper had also reported that the Indian government had deported 18 Rohingyas despite ‘SC stay’.

Rohingyas have been arrested in the past for their alleged involvement in human trafficking. In January, the Police had arrested three people, including a Rohingya, in connection with dacoities in Kerala. There has also been a suspicion that there is a deliberate attempt to Islamicize Hindu-majority Jammu by the settlement of Rohingyas. Rohingyas have also committed massacres of scores of Hindu men, women and children as confirmed by Amnesty. Despite the obvious security threat that Rohingyans pose, ’eminent’ personalities have been demanding that they are allowed to stay in India.

British school bans students from wearing shorts, asks boys to wear skirts instead

As part of a ‘gender neutral’ policy to make transgender students feel more at home, a secondary school in Oxfordshire, England, has banned its boys from wearing shorts during summers and suggested that they could wear skirts instead. The new uniform policy of Chiltern Edge School in Sonning Common declares that students can wear only trousers or skirts.

The school has rejected requests by parents inquiring whether their wards could wear tailored shorts in warmer weather instead of trousers. Alastair Vince-Porteous, the parent who made the request to Chiltern Edge, told the Mail: “I was told shorts are not part of the uniform. It’s a shame we can’t be more grown up about it, we aren’t asking for ra-ra skirts or skinny jeans, just grey tailored shorts for two months a year, it’s not a big deal. I know that in the past other schools have worn skirts so I asked if my son was able to do that – and the school said yes.” Another parent said it was ‘nuts’ to make students wear ties and blazers in summers.

The popularity of Gender neutral Uniform Policies has increased since the implementation of the Equality Act, 2010, which makes it mandatory for schools to protect transgenders from discrimination. The Guardian reported that according to the charity Educate & Celebrate, 120 schools have adopted such a uniform policy. It’s founder, Dr Elly Barnes, said, “In our experience, primary schools are adopting [the program] faster than secondary schools. There doesn’t seem to be any type of school that’s more likely to take it up than any other, and no particular part of the country where there’s less or more take-up.”

As per reports, the decision came after Ofsted, a government organization charged with maintaining educational standards, deemed the uniform ‘inadequate’. Headteacher Moira Green said: In September 2017, with the support of parents, Chiltern Edge made the decision to move to a more formal uniform. This has been a success. Maiden Erlegh Trust, in preparation for September 2018, wholeheartedly support Chiltern Edge’s adoption of a more formal uniform.”

Last year, students at Isca academy at Exeter had protested their school’s uniform policy which forbids shorts by showing up at the school wearing skirts they had borrowed from their girlfriends or sisters or friends.

‘The Wire’ journalists think Ajit Doval should lose his job for keeping Modi safe despite assassination plots?

A day after Pune Police claimed to have recovered an incriminating piece of internal communication between suspected urban Maoists that had discussions of an assassination plot to kill Prime Minister Modi, some biased journalists are already on a overdrive trying to discredit the Pune Police’s allegations and downplay the entire issue.

Earlier, Journalist Shekhar Gupta and Saba Naqvi had claimed that Maoists would never discuss assassination over email, today two journalists from The Wire attempted to ridicule Home Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval over the issue.

Sharing a tweet with an image that listed news reports related to possible threats of life to PM Modi over last few years, leftist propaganda website The Wire’s journalist and abusive troll Swati Chaturvedi tagged Home Minister Rajnath Singh asking him to sack NSA Ajit Doval. Chaturvedi, however, failed to comprehend that if the Prime Minister is unharmed, it would only mean that the security agencies are doing their job very well. The fact was duly pointed out to her by Twitter users.

Swatis’s tweet had a reply from another star journalist from The Wire. Rohini Singh, who had earlier made mathematically and logically challenged conspiracy theories about a business venture by Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah, which eventually resulted in a 100 crore defamation suit filed against The Wire, supported Swati Chaturvedi’s tweets by claiming the NSA is unable to protect the PM because he is busy snooping journalists.

In their logic free rant, both journalists had forgotten that the image they had shared included reports from a time period when neither Singh was the Home Minister nor Doval was the NSA.

It is greatly ironic that such journalists, who make a hue and cry over Twitter trolls, memes and keep complaining about democracy being in danger each time someone disagrees with them, find excuses to ridicule incriminating pieces of evidence that hold plans for the assassination of a democratically elected Prime Minister.
