The incident took place around 10.30 pm on May 17 in gali number 5 of Gautam Puri area in Delhi’s Seelampur. The team also recovered and confiscated the weapon of offence, which included three knives and one icepick.
The deceased has been identified as Iqwal (20), who was a resident of Bihar and was working as a daily wage labourer in the jeans manufacturing company at Gautam Puri, Seelampur.
Iqwal had sustained 6 stab wounds on left and right thigh. Upon getting noticed by the public, he was immediately rushed to the JPC Hospital and during treatment, he lost his life.
The police team received information from the JPC Hospital regarding the stabbing of the young boy.
The police team of Seelampur immediately reached the spot, nabbed the accused and registered an FIR against them, under IPC section 302 and further investigation is in progress.

Reportedly, around a week ago, Iqwal had a spat with the accused over a petty issue. In a fit of rage, they planned for revenge and, they accosted him on the streets and stabbed him to death.

On Saturday, 18th May, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal said in a post on X that the CCTV footage of the alleged assault at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence had been deleted. She further accused AAP of releasing an edited video to malign her.
In her post, Maliwal questioned if the entire CCTV footage had been deleted to protect Bibhav Kumar, PA of CM Kejriwal accused of assaulting Maliwal. “First, Bibhav beat me brutally. He slapped and kicked me. When I freed myself and called 112, he went outside, called security and started making a video. I was screaming and telling the security that Bibhav had beaten me brutally. That entire long part of the video was edited. Only 50 seconds were released when I was fed up with explaining to the security guys. Now they formatted the phone and deleted the entire video? CCTV footage is also missing! Even conspiracy has its limits!” Swati Maliwal said in her post.

Earlier on Saturday, Delhi Police arrested Kumar and produced him before a magisterial court. As he was already arrested, his anticipatory bail plea was subsequently observed as becoming “infructuous” by a Delhi Court and he was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal. Police sought 7-day remand to question him but got four-day custody. During arguments, police informed the court that custody was necessary for questioning him about the reason for the assault.
Furthermore, the court was informed that Kumar formatted his phone in Mumbai claiming there was some “malfunctioning”. The police said Kumar also did not provide them with the password to unlock the phone. The police said that they asked for the CCTV footage and were provided with a pen drive but when they checked it, the video was blank. The court said, “We asked for DVR. They gave us pendrive. Footage was blank. He gave his iPhone but did not tell us the password. Phone has been formatted.”
Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing for Delhi Police, Atul Srivastava argues on custody of Bibhav Kumar.
Says – We asked for the DVR, that was provided in a pen drive…Footage was found to be blank. An iPhone has been given to the Police, but now the accused is not sharing…
Aaj Tak quoted unnamed sources in its report and said that Delhi police suspected the CCTV footage was tampered with. During the remand, they may take Kumar to Mumbai where he formatted the phone. The source said generally people take a backup of the phone before formatting it and if there was nothing to hide, he might have taken a dump of the data. The police are also planning to take the help of forensic experts to recover the data. The police will also take him to the crime spot, that is the CM’s residence to find out the reason behind the assault. Kumar’s advocate claimed that the phone was formatted but it had nothing to do with the case.
What happened on 13th May
On 13th May, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal accused the Personal secretary of Arvind Kejriwal of assaulting her. In her complaint, Maliwal has alleged that Kejriwal’s personal Secretary Bibhav Kumar “slapped” her “at least seven to eight times” while she “continued screaming” and “brutally dragged” her while “kicking” her in her “chest, stomach and pelvis area.” According to the Delhi Police FIR, Maliwal described the events of May 13 when she had gone to the Civil Lines residence of Chief Minister Kejriwal.
“I went inside the camp office and called CM’s PS Bibhav Kumar but I could not go in. I then sent a message to his mobile number (through WhatsApp). However, there was no response. I then went inside the residential area through the main door as I have always done in the past year since Bibhav Kumar was not present I entered the residence area and informed the staff present there to tell the CM here to meet him,” the FIR read. “I was informed that he was present in the house and I was told to wait in the drawing room. I went into the drawing room and sat on the sofa and waited for him to meet me,” Swati Maliwal said.
“He then abused me and asked who are you to not listen to what I say. While saying these words, he came and stood right in front of me. Without any provocation whatsoever on my side, he started slapping me with full force. He slapped me seven to eight times at least while I continued screaming. I felt absolutely shocked and was screaming for help over and over again. In order to protect myself I pushed him away with my legs,” she said.
“I repeatedly told him…that he should please let go of me as I was in unbearable pain. However, he attacked me with full force again and again. I somehow managed to get free. I then sat on the sofa of the drawing room and gathered my spectacles that had fallen on the ground during the assault. I was in a terrible state of shock at this attack. I was deeply traumatised and called the 112 number and reported the crime against me,” Maliwal detailed.
In Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh, 30-40 miscreants have been booked for brutally assaulting a youth from the Dalit community. The accused identified in the FIR include Zeeshan, Naseeb, and Monty Khan, while another 30 to 40 unidentified individuals, who were part of the attacking mob, have also been booked. They are accused of assaulting the victim with an iron pipe while hurling casteist slurs. The incident took place on Saturday (18th May) when the victim Diwakar Nayak was returning from a BJP bike rally. The Police have arrested 3 accused, while an investigation to identify and arrest the remaining accused is underway.
According to reports, the incident unfolded in the Barkagaon police station area of Hazaribagh. Diwakar Kumar Nayak, who belongs to the Scheduled Caste community, stated that he was returning after attending the BJP bike rally with 150 of his friends on Saturday. On his way back, he was returning to Gondalpura by bike with his friend Vicky Rana. Meanwhile, his bike was forcibly stopped when they were passing through the Muslim-dominated locality of Badam.
The miscreants who stopped Diwakar are said to be Badam residents Zeeshan, Naseeb, and Monty Khan. Additionally, 30 to 40 other unidentified individuals also joined them. It is alleged that all of them started abusing the victim and hurled casteist slurs.
After some time, the miscreants took out iron pipes from a nearby shop and started beating Diwakar and Vicky Rana. Diwakar suffered injuries on his neck and face in the attack. The mob also physically assaulted Diwakar and Vicky and kicked and punched them.

Taking to X, Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and BJP leader Babulal Marandi has shared the victim’s complaint submitted at the Police station. In his complaint, the victim has demanded strict action against the accused. In the complaint, he has said that due to the injuries on his body, he is currently unable to walk. Another youth named Vicky Rana was also badly injured in the attack.
According to media reports, the police have registered an FIR against 3 named and 30-40 other unidentified individuals. So far, the Police have arrested three accused in this case. Following the brutal assault on the Dalit youth and others, the Bharatiya Janata Party slammed the state government led by JMM and raised question marks on the law and order situation in the state.
Meanwhile, according to the information received, the Muslim side is also preparing to lodge a complaint with the police in this matter. They allege that objectionable slogans were raised near Barkagaon Mosque, creating a tense atmosphere. Currently, the police are investigating the entire matter.
In a shocking incident, a Dalit youth was attacked and assaulted by Islamist miscreants over a love affair with a Muslim girl in Karimnagar, Telangana. As per reports, the Islamist miscreants were led and directed by political leaders from MIM and BRS.
Notably, the victim boy hails from the Dalit community and is a resident of Warangal district. He fell in love with a Muslim girl who hails from Godavarikhani town in Pedpadalli district. Their relationship has been going on for the last two years. On 14th May, the Muslim girl told her family members that she was going out to meet her relative in Siddipet, but she went to Basant Nagar. From there, her lover, the Dalit youth picked her up on a bike. Afterwards, they visited his friend’s house in the Raykurti Sheikh Khan Nagar area of Karimnagar 18 Division.
As per a report in Telangana’s Newspaper Disha Daily, a Muslim man named Sameer noticed it and called a BRS leader of the Saleh Nagar area, Rahim, and told him that a Hindu boy had brought a Muslim girl.
The BRS leader directed several Muslim youths to go to the Raykurti area and the youths went there. Following the instructions of the BRS leader, they terrorised the Muslim girl and forcibly took the Dalit youth to the residence of the MIM party leader who had earlier served as the Deputy Mayor and is the husband of the 27th division corporator of the city, Abbas Shami.
The miscreant youths indiscriminately assaulted and intimidated the Dalit youth. They called the Muslim girl’s parents and handed over the victim girl to her parents. It is said that on the insistence of a corporator, the MIM leader left the Dalit youth. Subsequently, the victim called his friends and narrated his ordeal. He then went on to lodge a complaint at the Kottapelli Haveli Police Station under the Rural Police Station.
Dalit Hindu Youth brutally at†a¢ked, nearly 'LYN¢HED' by Islamists for Loving a Muslim girl in Karim Nagar, Telangana. MIM-BRS Members involved.
BLT Propaganda keeps getting more dangerous.
They intercepted the couple while the victims were traveling on a Motorcycle.
After investigating the matter, Police booked the MD of Sheikh Khan Nagar, Sameer, Saleh Nagar resident Mohammed Asif, MIM 18th division president Yakub, Azim of Islampura Gopkatta area, former deputy mayor Abbas Sami, the mother and father of a young Muslim girl under an atrocity case.
Two accused namely Yakub and Asif have been arrested and taken to remand while the rest of the accused are absconding. The locals have expressed concerns as the man who directed the Muslim youth, Rahim has not been booked so far.
Meanwhile, the police are busy trying to find out whether he deliberately provoked the Muslim youth or if there was any other reason.
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), known for spreading falsehoods about India and its internal affairs, appointed a Pakistani-American ‘activist’ named Asif Mahmood as one of its Commissioners.
The US Federal Government Commission confirmed the development in a statement on Friday (17th May). Asif Mahmood claims to be an ‘inter-faith community organiser’ and an advocate for ‘human rights campaigns’ in South Asia.
Owing to his close ties with the Democratic Party, he was appointed to USCIRF by Democrat Hakeem Jeffries (Minority Leader in the US House of Representatives).
The appointment of Asif Mahmood to the USCIRF is not without reason. He has been at the forefront of peddling anti-India propaganda under the guise of ‘human rights’ activism.
Earlier this month, he was seen peddling the conspiracy theory about India’s supposed involvement in the killing of Khalistani extremists in the United States, Canada and Pakistan.
Asif Mahmood did not provide any evidence to substantiate his outrageous claims. Interestingly, a similar attempt was made by leftist news outlets such as The Guardian and Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) News to falsely implicate India in extra-territorial killings.

We had a thorough discussion about victimization and assassination by implanted agents from #India of #Sikhs in the United States, Canada and Pakistan and means to counter these… pic.twitter.com/HEAeMCtvIW
His tweets on the matter reveal his prejudiced mindset against India.
“Why #India is so obsessed with #Canada. While #HarderpSinghNajjar murder case is still matter of huge contention between the two countries and now an other even bigger allegation about Indian involvement in the the Canadian elections. India owes truthful and transparent explanation to the Democratic World,” the USCIRF Commissioner wrote.

Asif Mahmood claimed that the Uttar Pradesh government banned 25000 Islamic schools aka madrassas in the State for election gain. “Religious freedom is a basic human right,” he stated.
The new USCIRF Commissioner conveniently withheld the fact that the Yogi Adityanath government took the decision after the Allahabad High Court declared the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act of 2004 as “unconstitutional.”
The court had, in fact, instructed the Uttar Pradesh government to devise a plan to accommodate madrassa students in the formal education system.

Asif Mahmood was also seen misleading Indian Muslims about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), a humanitarian law which aims to fast-track the citizenship of religious minorities who took refuge in India following persecution in the neighbouring Islamic countries of Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
“Citizenship Amendment Act #CAA2019 being implemented in #India intentionally coincided with the #Ramadan2024 to send a clear message to the #Muslims of India that you are no longer equal citizens. Religious Freedom at its lowest and Religious Discrimination at its highest expose India and #Modi of its shallow Secular Claims,” the Pakistani-origin ‘activist’ alleged.

The new USCIRF Commissioner suffered a prolonged meltdown on X (formerly Twitter) on 22nd January this year after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part in the Pran Prathistha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
“Is the #RamTemple inauguration by Prime Minister #Modi and circumstances around it the beginning of the end of Secular #India? ReligousFreedom is at its the lowest point in India today and civilized world needs to pay attention,” he whined.

Propagating Pakistani agenda on Jammu and Kashmir
True to his Pakistani roots, the human rights ‘activist’ was seen repeating the talking points of the Directorate of the Inter–Services Public Relations (DGISPR) and calling for the secession of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir from the Union of India.
“Another sad and dark day for #Democracy #Justice and #SelfDeterminationRight for #Kashmiris in a long struggle for them and their children future. #US and rest of the Democratic world should pay attention on encroachment of #India in #Kashmir,” Asif Mahmood brazened out.

In 2021, the newly appointed USCIRF Commissioner extended support to the controversial US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, and hoped that he would rake up India’s internal affairs such as the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the motivated anti-farm law protests.
In April this year, the Pakistani-American ‘activist’ was seen fearmongering about the state of Indian democracy and religious minorities in the country. He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is pursuing a Hindu nationalist agenda to ‘scapegoat’ Muslims.
“We all need to stand up to save future and lives of quarter Billion Muslims and other Minorities in India,” he brazened out.

Asif Mahmood also sought to exploit the Kuki-Meitei ethnic clash in the Indian state of Manipur and the so-called ‘persecution’ of Muslims by the Indian State.

In a tweet posted in June last year, the USCIRF Commissioner passed his preconceived notions about India as the gospel truth. He hoped to tarnish the image of the country as an ‘unsafe place for religious minorities’ globally.
“It’s important to bring up the brutalities against #Muslims, #Sikhs, #Christians and other minorities in #India while #PMModi is in #WashingtonDC. #HumanRights protection and respect should be the foundation of any relationship #US has anywhere. Inclusive India is good for all,” he wrote.

Lies peddled by USCIRF against India
OpIndia had recently reported on the anti-India bias of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom.
In its annual report, USCIRF cited the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) and demanded the inclusion of India in the list of Countries of Particular Concern (CPCs) alongside Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, and Vietnam.
The rationale floated by USCIRF for such a drastic measure was alleged ‘systematic, ongoing, (and) egregious violations’ of religious freedom by the Indian government.
This is despite the fact that throughout its 96-page long report, the US federal government commission failed to provide a single instance of the incumbent Modi government’s direct involvement in any violation of religious freedom of any individual.
2024 USCIRF report on India, Page 30
OpIndia found that USCIRF dedicated two pages of its report (Pages 30 and 31) to portray a falsified image of India to the rest of the world.
It lamented that India has been upfront in enforcing the humanitarian Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against domestic terrorists and the cracking down on foreign funding of dubious NGOs through the cancellation of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) licences, and preventing forced conversions and illegal cow slaughter in line with constitutional principles.
USCIRF then went on to make sweeping claims about the use of anti-conversion, anti-cow slaughter laws, UAPA and FCRA cancellation to arbitrarily detain, monitor and target ‘religious minorities’ and those advocating for them.
It came to the rescue of the Delhi-based Centre for Policy Research (CPR), a think tank whose FCRA licence was cancelled for violating foreign funding norms. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs cited reports published by CPR on “current affairs programs” as one of the reasons for the cancellation.
2024 USCIRF report on India, Page 31
The US Federal Government Commission also defended NewsClick, even though it reportedly used funds received from China to procure weapons during the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) violence in the National Capital. It also attempted to whitewash the sins of ‘activist’ Teesta Setalvad.
USCIRF also sobbed over the detention of evangelists for the deceitful conversion of vulnerable and unsuspecting indigenous people (Adivasis) to Christianity. It also attempted to falsely impart a communal colour to the Kuki-Meitei ethnic clash in the Indian state of Manipur.
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) threw its weight behind Wall Street Journal (WSJ) ‘journalist’ Sabrina Sidiqqui, infamous for her anti-India rants, and ended up exposing the hypocrisy of the White House.
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom extended support to journalist turned-terror financer Irfan Mehraj and cried foul over the Supreme Court’s validation of the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Amid the mega political summer slam between the ruling AAP and the BJP over the arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal’s former aide in connection with the alleged assault on Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, Delhi Police sources on Sunday said it was considering adding the section for destruction of evidence in the case.
The development came close on the heels of the AAP leader and former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) alleging that Bibhav deleted parts of the CCTV footage from the CM’s Civil Lines residence that would have established his guilt beyond any reasonable doubt while validating her claim of assault.
Meanwhile, according to sources in Delhi Police, Kejriwal’s former personal assistant Bibhav Kumar, who was arrested on Saturday and is grilled for leads in the assault case, wasn’t cooperating with the ongoing probe.
Earlier, on Saturday, Bibhav was arrested in connection with the alleged assault on Maliwal and was produced before Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court, which remanded him in police custody for five days.
Further, according to sources in the Delhi Police, the sleuths could take Bibhav to Mumbai as they suspect that he dumped or disposed of all relevant phone data in the city before having it re-formatted.
According to sources, the police will try to retrieve the phone data with the help of forensic experts. Kejriwal’s former aide could also be taken to the CM’s Civil Lines residence in Delhi to determine the exact reason for the ‘fight’.
On Saturday, Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal remanded Bibhav to five days of police custody for further questioning in the case. He is scheduled to be produced before the court again on May 23, once the term of his remand expires.
Delhi Police, earlier, sought a week-long custody of the CM’s former PA. Bibhav, who was arrested at 4.15 pm on Saturday, was produced before Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court around 9.15 pm.
Bibhav was booked under IPC sections 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 354B (assault or use of criminal force on a woman with intent to disrobe), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
Earlier, in his first response to Bibhav’s arrest in the assault case, CM Kejriwal accused the BJP at the Centre of playing ‘Jail Ka Khel’ (game of putting leaders in jail) with the AAP, adding that they would lead a ‘Jail Bharo’ march to the BJP’s headquarters on Sunday along with fellow party heavyweights as well as workers.
Ahead of the AAP march, Delhi Police, earlier in the day, threw an elaborate security ring around the BJP’s national headquarters while also issuing a traffic advisory, warning of snarls at DDU Marg, IP Marg, Minto Road and Vikas Marg. It added that the DDU Marg may remain closed to traffic between 11 am and 2 pm, urging commuters to avoid stretches that are likely to experience logjams.
Maliwal, in her complaint, alleged that Kejriwal’s former personal secretary “slapped” her “at least seven to eight times” while she “continued screaming” and “brutally dragged” her while “kicking” her in her “chest, stomach and pelvis area.”

The attack on Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan which happened on 13th May has been trending on social media for a few days now. The people from India’s hostile neighbour have consistently voiced their disbelief, frustration and anger over the development as they come to terms with the reality of nation-states and the relevance of Muslim Ummah — a theological concept which is meant to transcend national, racial and class divisions to unite all Muslims — in today’s modern world.
Now, an Indian netizen by the name of Pooja Sangwan has compiled a string of similar responses from Pakistani users, who as a force of habit boasted about their “powerful” army and threatened a “nuclear attack” in an ineffective attempt to intimidate, only serving to highlight their despair and the sorry state of their international stature. “Pakistan First” and “F**k Ummah” have also emerged as recurring sentiments in these posts. One such Pakistani also expressed the same without mincing any words.
Tempers are clearly running very high as Sher Khan conveyed his desire to “bully” other countries because Pakistan is the only Muslim nation with nuclear weapons and possesses the largest army among all of them.
The already despaired Pakistanis received yet another inconceivable jolt when their “Turkish brothers” from their shared “Ertugrul” heritage sided with the Kyrgyz, reaffirming their conviction to dump the Ummah and reiterating “Pakistan First.”
The remarks were replete with references to nationalism and hatred towards Ummah. One person advocated for the application of a “nationalistic militarism” approach and getting rid of all those who support Ummah and oppose the nation. The user further added that Ummahjeets (a derogatory term for those who support the notion of Ummah) should be dropped in Turkey so they can be attacked by the locals.
A netizen communicated dissatisfaction with the “8th nuclear power” and “7th powerful army” in the world for failing to help both its own people in Kyrgyzstan and the Ummah in war-torn Gaza, implying that Pakistan has been rendered completely incompetent despite its tall claims.
Coco pointed out the irony that Pakistan has major conflicts with all of its Muslim neighbours and that its citizens are targeted in Islamic countries. The user mentioned that only “kafir” (infidel) India has not attacked Pakistan as of yet and stated that the poison which is imbibed in young and impressionable minds against the non-Muslims through the country’s curriculum should be scrapped and replaced with “Pakistan First” because the country’s sovereignty is of utmost significance and the bogus ideo of Ummah has proved itself to be futile even in Gaza.
Another individual highlighted the attack on Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan and lamented that unwary Pakistanis preach about Ummah while the nation is continually “sacrificing its best interests” and undermining itself for those who despise them.
Notably, like all things Pakistani, even “Pakistan First” has also its roots in India because the slogan “India First” was coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election campaign in 2014.
The reason behind the attack
Videos of a brawl between Kyrgyz students and international students especially Pakistanis and Egyptians spread widespread on social media, causing tensions to rise, according to local media. Locals perceived the fight as a flagrant betrayal of the hospitality extended to the foreign students. On the night of 17th May, several Kyrgyz personnel staged a protest in the streets, claiming that officials had given the foreigners “lenient treatment.”
However, according to the authorities, they took three students into custody as soon as they learned about the brawl on 13th May. The dorms at medical universities, which housed international students from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India were the target of the violent crowds which reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least four Pakistani students and injury of fourteen others. On 18th May, the Indian Embassy also released an emergency number and advised Indian students to stay indoors and remain in touch with the Embassy.
Pakistan’s Embassy in Bishkek initially claimed that it has not received any reports of any deaths yet and directed its students to “stay indoors until the situation returns to normal.” There are about 14,500 Indian and 10,000 Pakistani students in the Central Asian nation which was part of the erstwhile Soviet Union and became independent in 1991.
Amid the mega political showdown over the arrest of CM Kejriwal’s former aide in connection with the alleged assault on AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, Delhi Police on Sunday detained several workers of the ruling party as they marched towards the BJP headquarters in the national capital as part of a planned ‘Jail Bharo’ protest.
Decrying the arrest of his former aide in the assault case, CM Kejriwal, on Saturday, accused the BJP at the Centre of resorting to a ‘Jail Ka Khel’ (game of putting leaders in jail) against his party, adding that he would lead a ‘Jail Bharo’ march to the BJP headquarters on Sunday along with his top party leaders as well as workers.

Speaking to ANI on Sunday, DCP Delhi Central, Harsha Vardhan Mandava said, “Based on the information we received through social media and other channels, we have made preventive arrangements on DDU Marg to ensure that the law and order are maintained at all costs. We are focused and committed to making adequate security deployments and have barricades in place to ward off any attempt to disrupt law and order.”
“Section 144 has been imposed on DDU Marg and there is no permission for any kind of protest here,” he informed.

Earlier in the day, elaborate security arrangements were made outside the BJP headquarters ahead of the AAP’s ‘Jail Bharo’ march.
Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory ahead of the AAP protest, warning of possible snarls at DDU Marg, IP Marg, Minto Road and Vikas Marg. It added that DDU Marg may remain closed to traffic between 11 am to 2 pm, urging commuters to avoid stretches that are likely to experience logjams.
Earlier, on Saturday, Kejriwal’s former PA was arrested in connection with the alleged assault on Maliwal. He was produced before the Tis Hazari Court, which remanded him in police custody for five days.
Earlier, the AAP chief released a personalised video after Bibhav’s arrest, saying, “You can see how they (BJP) are after the AAP. One after another, they are putting our leaders behind bars. They put me, Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, and Sanjay Singh behind bars. Today, they put my (former) PA in jail. Now they are saying they will put Raghav Chadha, Atishi, and Saurabh Bharadwaj in jail. Perhaps it was our fault that we built schools and mohalla clinics, while also providing electricity for free, which they failed to accomplish. I would like to tell the Prime Minister: you are playing a ‘jail ka khel’ with us. Tomorrow, I will lead a march to the BJP headquarters along with all my top leaders, MLAs, and MPs at noon. You can put whoever you want in jail,” Kejriwal said.
Significantly, the Vigilance Department, last month, terminated Bibhav’s service as the CM’s personal assistant over a pending criminal case.

In the case of alleged assault on Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar, Delhi Police has submitted in the remand application that the attack on the AAP MP could have been fatal. Delhi Police mentioned this in its application submitted to the court seeking a seven-day police remand of the accused Bibhav Kumar.
The Police also mentioned in their remand request that Bibhav Kumar admitted to formatting his Apple iPhone 15, and the phone needs to be taken to Mumbai to recover the data, for which his police remand was needed. Notably, as per the Police, CCTV footage from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence during the period of assault on May 13 has turned out to be blank.
In their remand application, Delhi Police also highlighted that Bibhav Kumar could not explain why despite termination of his appointment as personal secretary to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on April 19, he continued to work in the CM’s residence whereby he had “potential to tamper with crucial evidence in the case.”
Earlier, on May 18, Bibhav Kumar was detained from Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence and later arrested. He was sent to 5 days judicial custody by the court later at night.
In her complaint to the police, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal had said that Bibhav Kumar attacked her at CM Kejriwal’s residence on May 13 with “full force, slapping and kicking her in the chest and abdomen.”
Notably, Aam Aadmi Party leaders are going to hold a protest outside BJP HQ on Sunday, May 19, after CM Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar was arrested on the complaint of AAP MP Swati Maliwal.
On 10th May a shocking incident came to light from the Mandvi area of Kutch, Gujarat where a Muslim young man living in Merau village was thrashed for bringing his acquaintances into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The victim has been identified as Alimamad Ilyas Shiroo. The accused abducted Alimamad, tied him up for hours and assaulted him. A video of his is making the rounds on social media in which he is holding the perpetrators responsible for this attack.
Some of Alimamad’s Muslim friends living in the nearby village of Shirva supported the BJP during the ongoing Lok Sabha election. On the other hand, the culprits, who were backing the Congress party, suspected that Alimamad had a role in persuading the individuals to join BJP. On 10th May, Akbarsha Syed, Hakimsha Syed, Jainulsha Syed and Aliasgar Syed abducted Alimamad as he was walking on the road. Afterwards, they beat him up and kept him bound for several hours. They then dumped the injured man in the middle of the road. He was then taken to 108 (emergency medical care) for treatment.
Alimamad also recorded a video which went viral online in which he revealed that he had been brutally thrashed and suffered internal injuries. According to the man, his urination has also stopped after the attack.
