Jharkhand: Akhtar Ansari brutally kills his tribal wife, caught while trying to burry the body with his brother-in-law Sanaullah Ansari

Yet another interfaith marriage ended in tragedy after a Muslim man killed his Hindu wife in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga. Bal Muni Lohra, a woman from the Janjatiya (tribal) community, was strangled to death by her husband Akhtar Ansari on Tuesday, 7th May, according to a report in Organiser. The perpetrator carried her body to the cemetery after the brutal murder in order to bury her and hide the crime. However, the vigilant locals caught him red-handed and notified the victim’s parents. A case was then filed against Akhtar Ansari and the police apprehended him on murderous charges.

Laldev Lohra, the deceased’s father, submitted a First Information Report (FIR number: 13/2024) at the Kisko police station on 7th May. The culprit has been charged with murder under section 302, disappearing evidence under section 201, and crimes committed by multiple persons with common intent under section 31 based on the complaint.

According to accounts, the Hindu woman moved in with Akhtar Ansari after eloping with him nearly five years ago. She reportedly married Akhtar Ansari and gave birth to a boy. The couple was married in an Islamic ceremony. There is no information on whether her name was changed. Her family severed all connections with her since they opposed the interfaith marriage.

She was strangled to death at their home by her Muslim husband after which he brought the corpse to the cemetery where Sanaullah Ansari, his brother-in-law, joined him to conceal the heinous act. The pair intended to bury the woman quietly while keeping the residents in the area unaware of what had transpired.

The locals, in contrast to their expectations, found them burying a body and they immediately called the woman’s family. The family members accused the two men of killing their daughter, and the police were informed.

The body was transferred by the authorities to the Lohardaga Sadar Hospital for a postmortem examination. The Station House Officer (SHO) at the Kisko Police Station confirmed on 8th May that Akhtar Ansari was being held by the police, however, he did not reveal the lack of action against Sanaullah Ansari.

Allahabad Court upholds tenets of Islam to deny live-in relationship rights to previously married Muslim, says illicit relationships prohibited by Islamic law

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court ruled on Wednesday (8th May) ruled that Muslims cannot claim rights in a live-in relationship if they have a surviving spouse since such a relationship is prohibited by Islamic law.

A bench of Justices AR Masoodi and AK Srivastava made the observations while hearing a writ petition brought by Sneha Devi and Mohd Shadab Khan, who were seeking protection from police action after the woman’s parents filed a kidnapping complaint against Khan, and ordered that Sneha Devi be returned to her parents under guard.

The petitioners claimed to be in a live-in relationship, but the woman’s parents filed a police report accusing Khan of kidnapping and enticing her to marry him. They also sought protection for their lives and liberty, claiming that they were adults who, according to the Supreme Court, were free to live together in a live-in relationship.

“Islamic tenets do not permit live-in relationships during the subsisting marriage. The position may be different if the two persons are unmarried and the parties being major choose to lead their lives in a way of their own,” the bench said while declining to pass an order on the issue of protection of life and liberty.

Following an investigation, the bench discovered that Shadab Khan married Farida Khatoon in 2020 and that the couple had a child.

The court observed that constitutional morality and social morality in marriage institutions must be harmonized; otherwise, social coherence for accomplishing the goal of societal peace and serenity would fade and disappear. It further asked the police to send petitioner Sneha Devi to her parents under guard.

“The constitutional morality may come to the rescue of such a couple and the social morality settled through the customs and usages over ages may give way to the constitutional morality and protection under Article 21 of the Constitution of India may step in to protect the cause. The case before us is, however, different,” the Court observed while the couple sought protection under Article 21 (protection of life and personal liberty).

“The constitutional protection under Article 21 of the Constitution of India would not lend an un-canalized support to such a right, once the usages and customs prohibit such a relationship between the two individuals of different faiths,” the bench added.

There is no definition of a live-in relationship as such in India. It broadly refers to the proposal of two people living together with consent. It allows people to understand each other, which aids in making an informed decision about marriage.

Earlier, in March this year, the Allahabad High Court made a similar ruling considering the Hindu law. While hearing the plea filed by a live-in couple seeking police protection against their family members, the Court held that as per the Hindu Law, a person having a spouse alive cannot live in an illicit and live-in relationship in contravention of the provisions of the law.

Justice Renu Agarwal stated that the Court could not safeguard a connection that was not supported by Hindu law. If the court takes up such cases and offers protection to illegal relationships, it will cause disorder in society, hence such relationships cannot be backed by the court.

It was also decided that no law-abiding citizen who is already married under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955 can seek the Court’s protection for an unlawful relationship that is not part of the country’s social fabric. The sacredness of marriage presupposes divorce. If the girl has any difference with her husband, she has first to move to get separated from her spouse as per law applicable to the community if Hindu Law does not apply to her, it was observed.

‘If left to Congress there would be no country for Hindus’: BJP tears into Congress after EAC-PM study shows Hindus in India shrunk 8%

0

Amit Malviya, Bhartiya Janta Party’s in-charge of the National Information and Technology Department on Wednesday targeted the Congress party over the report of the Economic Advisory Council to the PM (EAC-PM) and said that if the country is left to Congress, then there would be no country for Hindus.

Taking to his official X handle, Amit Malviya tweeted, “Share of Hindus shrunk 7.8% between 1950 and 2015. The Muslim population grew by 43%. This is what decades of Congress rule did to us. Left to them, there would be no country for Hindus.”

The remarks of Amit Malviya come amidst the report of EAC which said that in India, the share of the majority Hindu population decreased by 7.82 per cent between 1950 and 2015 (from 84.68 per cent to 78.06 per cent), while the share of the Muslim population, which in 1950 was 9.84 per cent, increased to 14.09 per cent in 2015–a 43.15 per cent increase in their share.

Meanwhile, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister also held the Congress responsible for the decrease in the Hindu population and claimed that the Muslim population due to the party’s Muslim appeasement politics.

Speaking with ANI, Keshav Prasad Maurya said, “This is a topic of concern and this imbalance in the population–rise in Muslim population and decline in Hindu population, has happened because of the Congress’ Muslim appeasement.”

Maurya added further, “Congress party worked like the Muslim League and therefore, the country witnessed an imbalance in the population. That is why, the country needs Uniform Civil Code (UCC)… Just like Hindus, Muslims will only marry one person. ‘Ye nahi ki ham 5 aur hamare 25 ke formule se santulan bigde,’ and then the demand for another Pakistan rises in the country. To prevent such things from happening, Uniform Civil Code is important.”

According to the EAC report, the share of the Christian population rose from 2.24 per cent to 2.36 per cent–an increase of 5.38 per cent between 1950 and 2015.

The share of Sikh population increased from 1.24 per cent in 1950 to 1.85 per cent in 2015–a 6.58 per cent rise in their share. Even the share of the Buddhist population witnessed a noticeable increase from 0.05 per cent in 1950 to 0.81 per cent.

On the other hand, the share of Jains in the population of India decreased from 0.45 per cent in 1950 to 0.36 per cent in 2015. The share of the Parsi population in India witnessed a stark 85 per cent decline, reducing from 0.03 per cent share in 1950 to 0.004 per cent in 2015.

Instagram influencer Bhupendra Jogi, whose reel mocking Dhruv Rathee went viral, attacked by unknown assailants: Read what happened

On 7th May, Bhupendra Jogi, an Instagram influencer and businessman from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, was brutally attacked by unknown assailants while returning from his garment shop. Jogi rose to fame via viral social media reels. Reportedly, while returning from his shop, two masked assailants attacked him in the New Market area at around 9 PM. He tried to save himself but sustained severe injuries and ended up getting around 40 stitches.

Speaking to the media, a senior police official said that a case has been registered in the matter under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 307 at the Arera Hills Police Station. However, “so far there are no clues about the culprits. Jogi has not spoken about any rivalry or previous threats. We are scanning CCTV footage from the spot,” the police official said.

In a video uploaded on his Instagram account, Bhupendra Jogi said, “I had closed down my shop and was returning when two masked men attacked me with knives. They have not been arrested. I request everyone’s help in finding these people and helping me get justice.”

In an Instagram story, Jogi urged everyone to help him find the culprits. “I am BHUPENDRA JOGI, yesterday at 9:30 PM when I was returning home from my shop, some people attacked me with a knife at the Roshanpura intersection(100meter away from the police station) due to which I got 37 stitches on my body. After attacking they ran away easily and till now no one has been able to trace him. “PLEASE ALL OF YOU ARE REQUESTED TO HELP ME IN FINDING THESE PEOPLE AND HELP ME IN GETTING JUSTICE,” he wrote.

Jogi was reportedly supposed to go to Mumbai for auditions for an OTT platform. Had he managed to clear the auditions, he would have worked with Salman Khan. There is a possibility that he was supposed to audition for Bigg Boss OTT where Salman Khan is the host. Last year, YouTuber and influencer Elvish Yadav had won the season 2 of the show. However, it is unclear which show Jogi was supposed to audition for. His family members have alleged that the attack could have happened because of the auditions. It is unlikely he would be able to audition for the show.

Bhupendra Jogi’s meme and journey of becoming an influencer

Jogi took the opportunity of becoming a meme material and became a social media influencer. At the moment, he has around 1,96,000 followers on Instagram. In 2023, he reshared the meme in his own style as the first two videos on his Instagram account.

Following rising to fame, he met several influencial people including political leaders like former CM of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister Smriti Irani.

Video on Dhruv Rathee and the backlash

Two weeks ago, on 20th April, Jogi uploaded a video on his Instagram profile mocking propagandist YouTuber Dhruv Rathee. In the video, Jogi was seen driving a motorcycle with two of his friends as pillion riders. The one sitting on the rear asked if they knew Dhruv Rathee to which Jogi and his friend said they did not know him. When the other friend tried to praise Dhruv Rathee, they dropped him from the bike and said, “Don’t know whom he was talking about. Who is that person anyway?”

The video received a severe backlash on Instagram and Jogi’s comments were patched with Rathee’s fans asking everyone to unfollow him. Some accused him of being a sellout to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

UP: Minor Hindu girl’s body, chopped into two, found near railway tracks; family says Fariyad took her to mosque and converted her to Islam before killing her

On Wednesday, May 8, a 15-year-old Hindu girl’s body, chopped into two parts, was found lying near the railway tracks in Bareilly’s Fatehganj Purvi village. In what the family of the deceased is alleging to be a case of love jihad, the minor was hurled before a speeding train by a youth identified as Fariyad, son of one Wahid Hussain, after she was forced to convert to Islam. The family of the deceased minor also suspected that the accused had sexually assaulted the victim before killing her.

Reportedly, the accused Fariyad Hussain not only murdered the minor girl in cold blood but also attacked the deceased’s mother with a knife when he was caught by the family members and villagers while he was trying to flee after committing the heinous crime.

The Bareilly police have taken to X to confirm the incident. They have said that an FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the IPC and an investigation has been initiated in the case.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, as the young girl was en route to her school, as per the complaint filed by the family of the deceased girl. The mother of the deceased stated her daughter had gotten a call from her school stating she had obtained low grades on one of her examinations and needed to take an improvement test.

The girl was walking to school when Fariyad Hussain stopped her and offered to drop her to school on his bike. The accused, however, instead of taking her to the school, took the victim to the rail bridge near the Bahgul River.

According to local media reports, after reaching the railway bridge, the youths first assaulted the victim and then pushed her before a speeding train. The victim died on the spot. The report also quoted the deceased parents as alleging that the accused first took the minor to a mosque where she was forced to convert to Islam. She was also sexually assaulted before being brutally killed.

According to the complaint, the victim’s brother saw the accused drag her towards the railway tracks and alerted his family, who immediately rushed to the scene along with other locals. Despite the efforts of the victim’s family to restrain the accused, Fariyad Hussain shoved the girl in front of the moving train and tried to run away, only to be accosted by the locals. The police arrived at the scene after the older sister of the deceased girl alerted them and took the accused into their custody.

Hindu temple attacked in Trinidad, idols smashed, premise vandalised in Curepe city

On Wednesday (8th May), several people stormed into the Bharatiya Abhyas Mandali, a Hindu Temple on Watts Street in Curepe, Trinidad and Tobago and vandalised it.  The Hindu temple desecrated by the attackers is administered by Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha. The attackers destroyed six idols. Reports say that the St Joseph Police and CID are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha said: “Six murtis sized four feet were destroyed, and smashed to pieces in the most violent manner. Once again a place of worship was attacked. Obviously, this is not the unholy work of a vagrant or a band of vagrants.”

SDMS General Secretary Vijay Maharaj described the attack on the Hindu temple as the “worst form of sacrilege committed”.

This, however, is not the first time that a Hindu temple has been vandalised. In December last year, the Munroe Road Temple was also attacked and donation boxes with cash were stolen along with gold jewellery placed on Hundi murtis.

On the 15th of October last year, the Kali Maa Temple in Carli Bay was desecrated, with acid reportedly poured on the floor and the Kali Maa murti. In the same month, some people vandalised the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS) D’Abadie Maha Vishnu Mandir on Mausica Road.

In another incident of violence against Hindus and an attack on their temple in October last year, stones were hurled at the Pranavananda Ashram at Temple Street off Beaucarro Road in Freeport, when Hindus were performing Kanya Kumari pooja during Navratri festival. It was reported that some youths while were hurling objects from the temple’s rooftop. The attackers also damaged five vehicles.

This incident had sparked an outrage in Trinidad and Tobago with opposition MP Indra Singh calling it the “latest anti-Hindu attack in South Couva. Just two days before this attack, a popular Ramleela site, Tarouba Recreation Grounds was targeted. The attackers stole the tents and destroyed props created for use in the Ramleela production.  In September last year, the Williamsville Hindu temple was vandalised.

On 28th September 2022, the Kali Mata temple in Carli Bay in Couva was vandalised and desecrated by unknown miscreants. The vandals had broken into the temple in the night and damaged the idol of Goddess Kali. They also smeared olive oil on the idol. The attackers wrote a verse from the Bible on the walls of the temple, which contains a warning against non-Christians. They wrote ‘Read Exodus 20:3-4’ in big red letters on the outer walls of the temple.

This attack came just a week after a Ganesh Mandir was vandalised in Penal on the night of 22 September 2022. It was found that a Ganesh murti was broken, clothes were pulled out from other murtis, and a cigarette butt was left behind.

Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Army to stop importing ammunition from next financial year as India now capable of manufacturing all it requires domestically

According to a senior procurement officer, the Indian Army will stop importing ammunition in the upcoming fiscal year since its domestic industry has increased its production capacity to satisfy the military’s requirements.

The Indian Army’s Additional Director General (Procurement), Major General V.K. Sharma, said that although the army had previously placed a significant emphasis on imports to meet its yearly ammunition needs, it has now found domestic suppliers for about 150 of the 175 types of ammunition it uses.

“In the next financial year, we will not have any import of ammunition, except in cases where the quantity required is too low for domestic production to be economically viable,” Maj Gen Sharma said during a seminar on ammunition production organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).

The army currently spends between Rs 6,000 and Rs 8,000 crore a year on ammunition, all of which would now come from Indian manufacturers.

As a result of a gradual implementation of a negative import list or positive indigenisation lists, foreign producers currently supply only 5–10% of the army’s ammunition requirements.

Positive indigenisation lists are lists of items released by the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) that India has the capacity to make domestically and will not be imported.

The capacity for domestic manufacturing has risen due to the establishment of new ammunition plants by a number of private sector enterprises in recent years, in addition to the recently corporatized Ordnance Factories.

The largest ammunition complex in Asia was opened by Adani in Kanpur two months ago, in February 2024. Thousands of rockets, missiles, small- and large-calibre ammunition, and artillery rounds will be produced at the site for the security forces.

In addition, Tata became the first private aircraft producer in India, aside from the government-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, when it started assembling the Airbus C-295 transport plane.

The aim is to stop all ammunition imports by 2025-26.

Ex-Pakistani Army commando and Pakistani terrorist among three terrorists who attacked the IAF convoy in Poonch: Identity and pictures released

The security forces have released the photographs of all three terrorists, captured on CCTV footage, who are believed to have attacked the Indian Air Force convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district last week. The attack had claimed the life of Corporal Vikky Pahade while four of his colleagues were injured.

As per reports, all three terrorists used high-powered assault rifles, United States-made M4s and Russian-made AK-47s, in the attack. So far the investigation has revealed that an Ex-Pakistani Army commando and a Pakistani terrorist were involved in the Poonch terror attack.

The security forces have identified the three terrorists as Illiyas, a former Pakistan Army commando, a Pakistani terrorist named Hadoon (or Hadun), and Abu Hamza, the code-name of the commander of the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Notably, the former Pakistani Army commando, Illiyas also goes by the code name ‘Fauji’.

Earlier, the security forces released the sketches of two terrorists involved in the Poonch attack on the IAF convoy. According to the sketch released by the J&K Police, Hamza is a man aged between 30 to 32 years, of medium build, and fair complexion, with a neatly trimmed haircut. He was last spotted dressed in a Pathani suit accompanied by a brown shawl and carrying an orange bag. A reward of ₹ 10 lakh has been announced for any information that leads to his arrest.

India Today citing sources reported that the terrorists carried out attacks for the People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), an affiliate of the Jaish-e-Mohammed. Sources added that a massive search operation is underway in the forests of Rajouri and Poonch to track the terrorists down. So far, the officials have narrowed down on several suspects and have questioned multiple persons over their links with the three terrorists.

Notably, the PAFF is a Jaish-backed terror group. It also claimed responsibility for the attack on an Army vehicle that killed four soldiers in Poonch in December last year.

The assault on the IAF convoy on May 4th came after a series of terrorist incidents in the Poonch and Rajouri regions in recent weeks. Among these attacks was one in the Shadra Sharief area of Rajouri, where a 40-year-old government employee was fatally shot outside a mosque.

The 40-year-old man identified as Mohammad Razak worked with the social welfare department. It was revealed that his attackers used a United States-made M4 assault rifle and also a pistol. When the attack unfolded, Md Razak was accompanied by his brother who is a soldier in the Territorial Army.

A senior officer said that the terrorists tried to kidnap him but he managed to escape unhurt. According to security officials, the terrorist code-named Abu Hamza was behind that attack.

Prior to these attacks, two non-locals – a migrant worker from Bihar and a man from Dehradun – were targeted in the Anantnag and Herpora areas of Shopian district.

Meanwhile, in a major crackdown on terrorism, Kashmir Police on 7th May killed the most wanted commander of The Resistance Front (TRF) Basit Ahmed Dar in an encounter in Redwani Payeen of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. He was classified as an ‘A’ category terrorist and the NIA had announced a Rs 10 Lakh reward for details leading to his arrest. Kashmir Zone IGP, V K Birdhi stated that Basit was involved in more than 18 cases of killing of police personnel and civilians.

‘US neither understands, nor respects the sovereign Indian state’: Russia slams Biden govt over Pannun blame, reports on ‘religious freedom’

0

Rubbishing the allegations by the US on India for a foiled assassination plot against pro-Khalistan radical Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Washington has not yet provided any reliable evidence of the involvement of Indian citizens in the case.

“According to the information we have, Washington has not yet provided any reliable evidence of the involvement of Indian citizens in the preparation of the murder of a certain GS Pannun. Speculation on this topic in the absence of evidence is unacceptable,” the official spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Wednesday (local time).

She said that the US does not understand the national mentality, as well as the historical context of the development of the Indian state and it disrespects India as a state.

Zakharova’s remarks came in response to a media query on Moscow’s reaction to accusations against an Indian official of a foiled “assassination” plot, and the American news publication ‘The Washington Post’ stating that India is trying to do the same as Russia and Saudi Arabia against its enemy.

“‘The Washington Post’, it seems to me, should use the term “repressive regime” and everything you quoted in relation to Washington. It is difficult to imagine a more repressive regime than Washington, both in domestic and international affairs. Now directly about your question,” Zakharova said, according to the readout of the briefing released by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Regular unfounded accusations by the United States against New Delhi (we see that they groundlessly accuse not only India but also many other states) of violating religious freedoms are a reflection of the United States’ misunderstanding of the national mentality, the historical context of the development of the Indian state and disrespect for India as a state. I am sure that this also comes from the neocolonial mentality, the mentality of the colonial period, the period of the slave trade, and imperialism,” she said.

“This does not only apply to India. The reason is the desire to unbalance the internal political situation in India in order to complicate the general parliamentary elections taking place in the country. Of course, this is part of interference in India’s internal affairs,” she added.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is an India-designated terrorist who holds American and Canadian citizenship. Earlier in November, the US Justice Department unsealed an indictment against an Indian national for his alleged involvement in a foiled plot to assassinate Pannun.

The External Affairs Ministry, in April, had rejected a report in The Washington Post naming Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) official’s involvement in the alleged post to kill Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in the US.

Describing it as an “unwarranted and unsubstantiated” imputation on a “serious matter” that is under investigation, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the US media report was “speculative and irresponsible”.

In response to media queries on the report that appeared in the Washington Post, a US national daily, Jaiswal said that a High-Level Committee set up by the Indian government is carrying out an investigation into the security concerns shared by the US government on networks of organized criminals, terrorists, and others.

“The report in question makes unwarranted and unsubstantiated imputations on a serious matter. There is an ongoing investigation of the High-Level Committee set up by the Government of India to look into the security concerns shared by the US government on networks of organised criminals, terrorists and others. Speculative and irresponsible comments on it are not helpful.”

Citing officials and a US indictment, the Washington Post report claimed that the RAW official identified as Vikram Yadav had directed Indian businessman Nikhil Gupta, to hire a hitman to kill Pannun outside his New York residence.

Gupta, now in custody in the Czech Republic has a pending extradition to the US to stand trial in the case. As per the report in the US Daily, the operation targeting Pannun was approved by then-RAW chief Samant Goel.

Notably, as per the US Justice Department indictment, Indian national, Nikhil Gupta, who is currently in custody, has been charged with the murder-for-hire of Pannun.

The US Justice Department has claimed that an Indian government employee (named CC-1), who was not identified in the indictment filed in a federal court in Manhattan, recruited an Indian national named Nikhil Gupta to hire a hitman to carry out the assassination, which was foiled by US authorities, according to prosecutors.

Gupta has been charged with murder-for-hire, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Czech authorities arrested and detained Gupta on June 30, pursuant to the bilateral extradition treaty between the United States and the Czech Republic.

Following this, MEA said that a case filed against an individual in a US court and allegedly linking him to an Indian official is a “matter of concern” and is contrary to government policy.

India has also set up a high-level committee to probe the matter.

Islamist mob launches a deadly attack on Prerna Peeth Nishkalki Temple in Ahmedabad: Several idols of deities vandalised in ‘pre-planned attack’, says VHP

On Wednesday evening (8th May), the Prerna Peeth Nishkalki Temple at Pirana in Ahmedabad came under attack by an Islamist mob. The video of the incident is going viral on social media in which several miscreants are seen wearing skull caps. In the viral videos, the Islamist mob is seen holding sticks and iron rods. According to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, it was a pre-planned attack in which the Islamist mob vandalised several Murtis (idols) of Hindu deities.

It is pertinent to note that a controversy has been going on around this Prerna Peeth temple for years. While the Muslim party has been alleging that it is a shrine, the Hindu side maintains that it is a temple.

As per reports, there was a rumour that some graves were removed from the site. Subsequently, local Muslims gathered around the place in large numbers as the rumour about the removal of the graves spread. In the pandemonium, one such Islamist mob forcibly entered the temple. It is alleged that the miscreants also damaged the wall within the temple premises. The miscreants who can be seen holding wooden sticks and iron batons then launched an attack and vandalised the place.

A video of the attack was posted on the official Instagram account of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Gujarat. In the post, VHP claimed that the attack was pre-planned. It further claimed that several idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses installed inside the temple were broken in the attack. OpIndia tried to contact the VHP in this regard but failed.

Additionally, Bajrang Dal’s Gujarat unit also posted videos of the mob attack. It wrote in Hindi, “In this video, it is clearly visible that a large number of atheists broke the wall of the temple premises and entered inside and created a ruckus.”

Following the incident, the Ahmedabad rural district police station and police convoy including SOG, and LCB also rushed to the spot in Pirana. They immediately brought the situation under control. Further investigation is currently underway in this matter.

This report will be updated as more information comes to light.
