Pakistan: JeM terrorist and close aide of Masood Azhar, Maulana Rahim Ullah Tariq, killed by “unknown men” in Karachi

0

Another Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist, and close aide of Masood Azhar, Maulana Raheem Ullah Tariq was shot dead by ‘unknown men’ in the Orangi town area of Karachi, Pakistan, on Monday (13th November).

According to media reports, he was going to attend a religious gathering when unidentified people opened fire at him. Local media outlets from Pakistan, citing police officials, reported that the incident appeared as a case of “targeted killing”.

The media report referred to the wanted terrorist as “Mauzin”, a person who proclaims the call to the daily prayer. It also cited Senior Superintendent of the Police (SSP) West who confirmed the murder and called it a “targeted killing”. The Police official added that two unknown individuals on a bike approached the deceased and fired three shots.

The police official said that the forensic team had recovered the mobile phone and other valuables from Tariq. However, the family of the slain terrorist Rahim Ullah has rejected the enmity accusations. This was reportedly the 19th terrorist shot dead in Pakistan this year by unknown gunmen.

This comes less than a week after Akram Khan Ghazi, a senior commander of the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was killed by unidentified bike-borne assailants in the Bajaur district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As per the reports, Ghazi was a recruiter for LeT who had radicalised many terrorists who had infiltrated the Kashmir Valley in several batches in recent years.

The news of Tariq and Ghazi’s deaths emerges amid a string of mysterious killings of terrorists in Pakistan by unknown assailants over the past few weeks. These incidents appear to follow a pattern of unidentified individuals carrying out similar mysterious killings of terrorists in the country in recent weeks.

Earlier, on 5th November, Khwaja Shahid, also known as Mia Mujahid, a key commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba and one of the masterminds of the 2018 terrorist attack on an Indian Army camp in Sunjuwan, which left six people dead, was reportedly abducted and then found beheaded close to the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Similarly, one of the masterminds of the Dhangri terror attack, Riyaz Ahmad alias Abu Qasim, was shot and killed in September inside a mosque in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir by unidentified gunmen.

In another such incident, an anonymous assassin shot dead a key Hizbul Mujahideen commander Bashir Ahmad Peer also known as Imtiyaz Alam in Rawalpindi in March of this year.

Former Al-Badr Mujahideen commander Syed Khalid Raza was eliminated in Karachi in February by unidentified gunmen in what the police called a targeted strike. Aijaz Ahmad Ahangar, a terrorist from Kashmir who served as the chief commander of the international terror organisation Islamic State was discovered dead in Afghanistan’s Kunar Province earlier this year. Taliban had reportedly assassinated him.

“Never imagined that ‘Sar Tan se Juda’ type slogans will be raised in India”: PM Modi attacks Rajasthan government

On 13th November (Monday), Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the law and order issue of ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ slogans and warned voters that such slogans are a result of abject ‘misgovernance’ by the Congress-led Rajasthan government.  While addressing a public meeting in Barwani, Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi lambasted the Congress party and coined a new phrase ‘Congress Aayi, Tabaahi Laayi’. (Translation – Whenever Congress comes to power, they bring in destitution.)

PM Modi warned first-time voters that whenever Congress comes to power, they bring corruption and lawlessness. While addressing Madhya Pradesh voters, he also took a dig at the Congress government in Rajasthan citing the chants of ‘Sar Tan se Juda’ (STSJ) slogans, pointing towards the Kanhaiyalal murder case. For those unversed, the STSJ slogans are direct violent threats of beheading the person against whom they are raised.

In a scathing attack on the rival party, Congress, PM Modi stressed that nobody would have ever imagined that ‘Sar Tan se Juda’ type slogans would be raised in India.

Referring to Rajasthan, the Prime Minister said, “Congress has another identity. Wherever Congress comes, crime reaches its peak. Riots become common under Congress’s government. Atrocities against sisters and daughters reach their peak under the Congress government. It becomes difficult for people to celebrate their customs and festivals.”

PM Modi added, “Look in neighbouring Rajasthan. What hasn’t happened in the last 5 years? Could we even imagine that we would ever hear slogans like ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ in India? But due to the misrule of Congress, this happened in front of the cameras in the land of brave hearts (Veerdhara) Rajasthan. We have to save Rajasthan and not let Madhya Pradesh go towards destruction. The country is not trusting the words and promises of Congress at all.”

During his address, PM Modi reiterated the slogan, Abki bar, BJP sarkar. PM Modi asserted, “Nowadays another slogan is echoing in Madhya Pradesh. It has come from the hearts of the people. Derived from decades of experience. This slogan has emerged from what voters have seen with their eyes. Whenever Congress comes to power, they bring destitution. Madhya Pradesh has suffered this. The experience of the past years says that Congress has been wiped out from many places. There has been prosperity there. Where the Congress government has come again, even the most prosperous states are in trouble.”

PM Modi also contrasted political promises made by the BJP vis-a-vis Congress. He contrasted the BJP’s commitment to delivering on promises with the unfulfilled assurances made by Congress in states like Himachal Pradesh.

Referring to states like Himachal and Karnataka, PM Modi accused Congress of making false promises to the public. PM Modi highlighted that Congress made tall promises to bring prosperity to the farmers, mothers, and employees of Himachal. They played with people by giving false hopes, but today the situation is such that petrol and diesel have become expensive there. Farmers had to dump their apple produce in the water. He highlighted similar happenings in Karnataka after the formation of the Congress government.

The Prime Minister further added, “This is what was done in Karnataka. As soon as the Congress government was formed, electricity became expensive, milk became expensive. Due to this, ordinary families, farmers, and everyone big and small are troubled. If development has come to a standstill in Karnataka, such destruction can bring prosperity to Karnataka, so imagine what it will do to Madhya Pradesh.”

Sarcastically taking a hit at the infamous phrase of Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi noted, “Right now Congress can promise to build a palace of gold to get the chair (form government). Now who will bring this gold, Aaloo wala? There is no hope from Congress. Currently, they will offer to give voters a palace of gold, then they will say that I will extract gold from potatoes and then I will build it. As soon as it gets power, Congress will forget you and start looting business.”

Delhi: CBI seeks LG’s nod to probe former AAP minister Satyendar Jain for extorting high-profile prisoners in jail

0

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sought permission from Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena to investigate allegations against Satyendar Jain, former jail minister of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, for extorting money from high-profile prisoners during his tenure.

The CBI has also requested permission to investigate the then Tihar Jail Superintendent Danics officer Raj Kumar, who allegedly aided in extorting money from one of the prisoners.

Jain and ex-Jail Superintendent Raj Kumar have been accused of extorting a large sum of money from “high profile prisoners”, including conman Sukash Chandrashekhar in exchange for providing protection in jails. The Tihar jail is under the AAP government’s jurisdiction.

The CBI claimed that it had proof that Satyendar Jain allegedly ‘extorted’ and received money from Chandrashekar in various tranches to enable the alleged conman to live a peaceful and comfortable life in jail.

Sources said the CBI sent the request for prosecution to the LG and sought permission to prosecute Satyendar under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Earlier, the Supreme Court on November 6 extended the interim bail granted to AAP leader Satyendar Jain till November 24 in the money laundering case.

Jain has been in custody since May last year after the Enforcement Directorate attached properties worth Rs. 4.81 crore belonging to five companies in the money laundering case against him and a few others. Satyendar Jain is accused of having laundered money through four companies allegedly linked to him.

The ED case is based on a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) complaint registered on the allegation that Satyender Jain had acquired movable properties in the name of various persons from February 14, 2015, to May 31, 2017, which he could not satisfactorily account for.

Former UK PM David Cameron returns to government as Foreign Secretary in Rishi Sunak’s cabinet

0

On 13th November (Monday), Former British Prime Minister David Cameron returned to the UK government as Foreign Secretary. Cameron will now replace James Cleverly, who was appointed Home Secretary after Suella Braverman was sacked reportedly for her remarks on pro-Palestinian protests in the country.

The shocking return of Former PM Cameron, who had been away from politics for almost seven years, came during UK PM Rishi Sunak’s cabinet reshuffle which was triggered after Braverman’s sacking. Earlier in the day, Cameron was spotted entering PM Rishi Sunak’s office after Braverman was sacked, which raised speculations about his return. Consequently, the speculations were confirmed when Rishi Sunak’s office announced Cameron’s appointment as Foreign Secretary.

Following his appointment, the Conservative leader Cameron took to X sharing why he chose to accept Sunak’s proposal. He said, “The Prime Minister has asked me to serve as his Foreign Secretary and I have gladly accepted.” He also highlighted the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict and Israel-Hamas war in the Middle East emphasising that Britain is a “truly international country”.

David Cameron noted, “While I have been out of front-line politics for the last seven years, I hope that my experience – as Conservative Leader for eleven years and Prime Minister for six – will assist me in helping the Prime Minister to meet these vital challenges.”

Regarding his disagreements with Rishi Sunak and praising Sunak’s overall leadership, David Cameron stated, “Though I may have disagreed with some individual decisions, it is clear to me that Rishi Sunak is a strong and capable Prime Minister, who is showing exemplary leadership at a difficult time. I want to help him to deliver the security and prosperity our country needs and be part of the strongest possible team that serves the United Kingdom and that can be presented to the country when the General Election is held.”

Earlier in the day, British media reported that Braverman was sacked as she had criticised the police on how it handled the pro-Palestinian protests. She also dubbed such protests “hate marches” and accused the country’s largest police force of having a “double standard” in dealing with aggression during the protests. Her statements put pressure on Rishi Sunak to sack her.

In an article in ‘The Times’ newspaper, Suella Braverman said the pro-Palestinian protests in London “are an assertion of primacy by certain groups – particularly Islamists – of the kind we are more used to seeing in Northern Ireland”.

Braverman also claimed that the police officers “play favourites” and alleged that right-wing and nationalist protesters who engage in aggression are met with a “stern response” while “pro-Palestinian mobs” are “largely ignored”.

Commenting on her article, PM Rishi Sunak’s office said her article was published without his clearance, as per the ministerial code.

Has AMU become a den of terrorists? After the arrest of 7 ISIS terrorists, ATS hunts for Abdul and Faizan

In the first half of November 2023, the Uttar Pradesh Police’s ‘Anti-Terrorist Squad’ (ATS) arrested 7 terrorists from the ‘Aligarh ISIS module’. The arrested terror suspects have been identified as Abdullah Arshlan, Maaz bin Tariq, Naved, Wajiuddin, Rakib Imam, Noman, and Mohammad Nazim.

Now, according to credible sources, ATS has intensified its search for two high-profile terrorists from this module who are currently absconding. The names of the absconding suspects are Abdul Samad Malik and Faizan Bakhtiar. As per the security forces, they have learnt that the accused had connections with the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). This has posed serious challenges and questions are now being raised about whether AMU has become a ‘safe haven’ for terrorists.

According to information received by OpIndia from sources, ATS is also looking out for another suspect Harish Farooqui who is being monitored by the NIA (National Investigation Agency) and the Special Cell of Delhi Police. Farooqui is a former student of AMU and is considered to have played an instrumental role in setting up the SAMU Group. He has been on the run since Shahnawaz, who was linked to the Pune ISIS network, was arrested by the Delhi Police.

Abdul Samad Malik, accused of having links with the ‘Aligarh ISIS’ module, is currently on the priority list of Uttar Pradesh ATS. He is an accused named in the FIR which was lodged by Aligarh in charge of ATS. According to sources, Abdul, originally a resident of Sambhal district, is well-versed in the Arabic language.

He is allegedly the most extremist thinker in this group who radicalises and instigates the youth to even become suicide bombers. Abdul did his graduation from Aligarh Muslim University from 2019 to 2022. Since 2022, he has been studying Master in Social Working (MSW). Malik is said to have been absconding since the arrest of Abdullah Arshlan and efforts are being made to nab him.

Another student of AMU, Faizan Bakhtiar, is also said to be associated with the Aligarh ISIS module. Faizan Bakhtiar is originally from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He is said to have expertise in using social media to radicalise the youth. According to information received by OpIndia from its sources, Faizan is also accused of buying and selling illegal weapons from other districts. He is also pursuing an MSW (Master in Social Working) course from Aligarh Muslim University.

Both Faizan Bakhtiar and Abdul Samad Malik have kept their phones switched off since the time UP ATS busted the ‘Aligarh ISIS’ module. Both of them were associated with Students of Aligarh Muslim University (SAMU) and had been seen participating in its functions.

Abdul Samad Malik was also accused of giving provocative speeches. All of them are accused of conspiring to establish an ISIS network inside the country. In their speeches, objectionable things were said against the Hindu religion. Besides, they also vow and announce that Sharia law will be implemented in India. The arrest of several of these terrorists associated with this network before Diwali was considered a major achievement of UP ATS.

“I am here for climate demonstration, not a political view”: Man slams Greta Thunberg for turning Amsterdam event into pro-Hamas campaign

0

So-called climate activist Greta Thunberg’s recent stint in Amsterdam was anything but about the climate. Thunberg was interrupted by a man for precisely this reason who grabbed the microphone from her hand after she turned the event into a platform for pro-Hamas voices.

A video doing rounds on X, formerly Twitter, shows Thunberg donning a kaffiyeh, a scarf worn in Arab countries, but more commonly adopted by Palestinians as a symbol of their hate for Israel and Jews.

In the video, the ‘student-turned-activist’ can be heard saying, “We have not been listened to, the people in power have not been listening,” when a man in a green jacket comes up to her and takes the mic from her hand. He says, “I have come here for a climate demonstration, not a political view.” It must be pointed out that at no point did the individual appear violent.

However, Greta appears bullish. Even when the man has been grabbed and is being dragged out with his hands locked, Greta keeps walking up to him and follows him all the while telling him to “calm down”. Throughout, the people in the audience, many waving the Palestinian flag, boo the man.

Once the man in question is out of the scene, Greta returns and joins the audience to chant “No climate justice on occupied land”.

The entire incident unfolded after Thunberg allowed a pro-Hamas Palestinian woman named Sara Rachdan and an Afghan woman activist for Palestinians named Sahar Shirazd, to speak during the climate protest.

Sara Rachdan has shared several video posts on Instagram directly supporting Hamas and calling the terrorist attack on Israel on 7th October an “action by the Palestinian people”.

Meanwhile, making absolutely no sense whatsoever, Greta Thunberg while peddling her leftist agenda, said, “As a climate justice movement, we have to listen to the voices of those who are being oppressed and those who are fighting for freedom and for justice. Otherwise, there can be no climate justice without international solidarity.”

What was projected as a climate event was in reality a propaganda platform for Islamists to be furthered by the left liberal cabal which Thunberg has historically represented.

This is not the first time that Thunberg has been promoting Hamas terrorism globally. In October, she posted an image with three more activists supporting Gaza and a soft toy of a blue Octopus with an angry face in the photo, which is deemed as a sign of anti-semitism. She later deleted the image and replaced it with one without the symbol.

Trinamool Congress comes out in tacit support of cash-for-query scam accused Mahua Moitra, hands her new responsibility

On 13th November (Monday), Mamata Banerjee-led All India Trinamool Congress gave a new responsibility to its Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra, who has been accused of asking questions in Parliament in exchange for gifts. TMC has appointed its MP from Krishnanagar and cash-for-query scam accused Mahua Moitra as the party’s district president of Krishnanagar (Nadia North), as reported by news agency ANI.

Moitra will replace the incumbent District President Kallol Khan.

The district falls in Mahua Moitra’s own constituency and the move is seen as silent support from Mamata Banerjee, especially after the Ethics Panel recently sought the expulsion of TMC MP from Lok Sabha after hearing testimonies in connection with the cash-for-query scam case.

Subsequently, taking to X, Mahua Moitra thanked the party for entrusting her with a new responsibility.

She wrote, “Thank you, Mamata Banerjee and AITC for appointing me District President of Krishnanagar (Nadia North). Will always work with the party for the people of Krishnanagar.”

However, it is important to note that so far Mamata Banerjee has not said anything openly in support of Mahua Moitra in the cash-for-query scam. Nonetheless, the recent decision to hand her new responsibility is being seen as tacit support from the party. On specific media queries, the party officials had refused to take a stand claiming that the concerned MP would respond to them in her own capacity. The repeated denial to comment on the controversy indicated that the party wanted to distance itself from the serious allegations levelled against Moitra, who had been one of their known faces and mouthpiece of the party.

Meanwhile, on 9th November, Abhishek Banerjee, who is considered second in command in TMC after Mamata Banerjee, had said that Mahua Moitra was fully capable of defending herself when he was asked to respond to the allegations against their party MP. However, he did cast aspersions on the decision of the Ethics Committee and asked, “If they have no evidence, how can they recommend expulsion? This is nothing but politics of vengeance.”

The cash-for-query scam came into prominence after BJP MP Nishikant Dubey filed a complaint to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla asserting that TMC MP Mahua Moitra sought favours from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions against industrialist Gautam Adani. Later, co-accused Hiranandani accepted that using her parliamentary credentials was an error of judgment on his part and submitted a sworn affidavit reportedly to turn approver in the case.

“BJP will help you seek darshan of Ram Lalla free of cost if govt formed in Madhya Pradesh”: Amit Shah

0

The Ram Mandir took centre stage in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh in the public rally of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Guna district on Monday with the BJP leader slamming the Congress party for “hindering” the construction of the temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.

Addressing a public rally in Guna’s Raghogarh, Amit Shah promised that the BJP would bear the cost for the darshan of Lord Ram Lalla if its government is formed in Madhya Pradesh.

“…You make the government of the BJP on December 3, the BJP Madhya Pradesh government will help you seek the darshan of Lord Ram Lalla free of cost…” Amit Shah said.

The 230-member Madhya Pradesh assembly is set to go to polls on November 17, with the vote count taking place on December 3. The Bharatiya Janata Party is looking to retain power in the state.

The union minister further accused the Congress Party of ‘halting’ the construction of the temple and ‘disrespecting’ the Indian culture.

“Congress party always insulted our pilgrimage sites and Indian culture. Narendra Modi built the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, and Baba Mahakal’s Lok and Somnath temples built of gold. The PM revived Badrinath Dham and Kedar Dham too,” he said.

Shah further said that the Ram Lalla was in a “humiliated state” for 550 years.

“The Congress party was stalling, deviating and delaying Ram Mandir for 70 years. Ram Lalla was in a humiliated state for 550 years. You made Modi ji the Prime Minister, he performed Bhoomi Pujan of Ram temple and today Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya,” he added.

Adding further, Amit Shah said that the state is set to celebrate the Diwali festival thrice in the coming months– on the day of Diwali which was on Sunday, on the day of the state poll results, and when the temple is inaugurated in Ayodhya in January 2024.

On Saturday, addressing a public event in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, Shah said: “First Diwali you will celebrate next month. The second time you will celebrate Diwali is when the BJP will form the government in Madhya Pradesh. Third time you will again celebrate Diwali when PM Modi installs the idol of Lord Ram in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple.”

Also, hitting out at the Congress Central and state leadership, Shah said, “This time, there are two camps in Madhya Pradesh. One camp has Digvijaya Singh and Kamal Nath, and the other camp has PM Modi, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Narendra Singh Tomar and (Jyotiraditya) Scindia. Between these two camps, you have to choose.”

Saudi Arabia turns down resolution to impose restrictions on Israel at Arab-Islamic summit. Here is what happened

On Saturday (11th November), Saudi Arabia turned down a desperate bid by some Muslim countries to economically and militarily isolate Israel during the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh.

As per a report by Channel 12, several Islamic nations met in Saudi Arabia’s capital city to discuss the Israel-Hamas war and wanted to impose 5 measures against Israel.

The measures included the prevention of the transfer of military equipment to Israel from US bases in the Middle East, suspension of all economic and diplomatic ties with the Jewish State, cutting down on oil sales to the US over its support to Israel, and stopping Israeli air traffic over Gulf skies.

The resolution also called for sending a joint delegation to Russia, the US and Europe to ensure a ceasefire. Saudi Arabia along with Jordan, Egypt, Mauritania, Djibouti, Sudan, Morocco, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) blocked the controversial resolution.

The OIC nations also turned down Iran’s demand to label the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as a ‘terror organisation.’ An Arab-Islamic summit was hosted by Saudi Arabia on Saturday (11th October) to call for the end of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, which started after the Islamic terror outfit launched a terror attack on the Jewish State, killing 1400 Israelis in the process.

Initially, only the 22 member nations of the Arab League were scheduled to participate in the event. Later, the summit was expanded to include all 57 members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

When Saudi Arabia called for emergency meeting of OIC

Earlier, Mohammed bin Salman-led-Saudi Arabia called a meeting of the foreign ministers of the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on 18th October in Jeddah in light of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. The official notification was released on 14th October.

The statement read, “At the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which chairs the current session of the Islamic Summit and the Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Organisation’s Executive Committee is convening an urgent open-ended extraordinary meeting at the ministerial level to address the escalating military situation in Gaza and its environs as well as the deteriorating conditions that endanger the lives of civilians and the overall security and stability of the region.”

It further added, “The extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the OIC will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah Governorate.”
