Is Arvind Kejriwal missing a tooth after 9.5 hours of CBI interrogation? Netizens speculate as he gives media byte

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, April 16, addressed media after being interrogated by the CBI in the Liquor scam. While speaking to media, he claimed that the AAP is ‘kattar imaandar party’ and that the allegations in the scam are fake. However, more than his statement, netizens were intrigued by the image where it appeared like Kejriwal had a missing tooth.

If one notices, there is a black-ish spot on his right side of upper jaw. Many thought this was the gap after he likely lost his tooth during the interrogation.

Twitter user Trupti Garg asked where did his tooth go.

To make it easier for other netizens, Twitter user Lala (@fabulasGuy) zoomed in on his mouth to show the black-ish looking portion on this teeth and raised question marks.

Twitter user Ninda Turtle (@nindaturtles) asked if Kejriwal was slapped that he lost his tooth.

One Mr Lolwa (@mr_lolwa) wanted to know who broke Kejriwal’s tooth.

Profound wisdom came from Twitter user @gadhwalitendua that Manish Sisodia also used to same things before he was sent to jail.

Meanwhile, OpIndia could not verify what the black-ish mark on Kejriwal’s tooth is. We cannot independently verify if Kejriwal lost his tooth during CBI questioning.

Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed buried in Prayagraj, Atiq’s wife Shaista Parveen does not attend amid speculations of surrender

Mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed both were buried in the Kasari Masari Kabristan of Prayagraj on 16th April 2023. Both of them were shot dead on 15th April 2023 in the government hospital while being taken for a medical checkup at around 10:40 pm by three attackers. Notably, Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista Parveen was speculated to attend the burial of the mafia and then surrender to the police, but it was later revealed that she did not attend the burial.

Only close relatives of Atiq and Ashraf were allowed inside the cemetery. Atiq Ahmed’s sisters, two minor sons Mohd Ahjam and Mohd Aaban, and two daughters had reached the Kasari-Masari cemetery. Apart from this, close relatives and several acquaintances were also present where he was buried. Ashraf Ahmed’s two daughters were also present at the time of burial.

When Ati Ahmed’s burial preparations were going on in the Kasari Masari Kabristan of Prayagraj, some women reached there and reached inside to attend the burial. It was being speculated that one of them is Shaista Parveen – Atiq Ahmed’s wife. As the women were wearing burqa, many media houses claimed that Shista is among them and she will surrender after the burial is completed.

As all these Muslim women were wearing burkhas, it was difficult to identify if any one of them was Shaista Parveen. One ABP News reporter also claimed that Shaista Parveen reached out to attend the burial. He claimed that he asked the policemen from a distance and they hinted that Shaista Parveen was there. However, it was later revealed that she was not there.

ABP News and ABP Ganga later confirmed that Shaista Parveen didn’t attend the burial of Atiq Ahmed.

Later, a reporter from UP Tak was seen covering the outside of the Kasari Masari Kabristan where a heavy police force was deployed. Many burkha-clad Muslim women were present there. One of them confirmed that Shaista Parveen was not present at the burial of the mafia. According to the report, the police have also confirmed that she was not present there.

When the reporter asked if Shaista was among them, the woman categorically denied it, asking him the check himself if Atiq Ahmed’s wife was there. These Muslim women also said that they were relatives of the dead mafia because he was a Muslim.

Another news channel Zee Salam also reported that Shaista didn’t attend the burial. Yesterday she also didn’t attend the burial of her son Asad Ahmed, killed in a police encounter on 13 April.

However, several other news channels and social media users are still claiming that Shaista Parveen reached the burial ground and then surrendered before the police, citing ‘sources’.

Shaista Parveen is also involved in the Umesh Pal murder case. She carries a reward of Rs 50000 rupees on her head. She was actively involved in planning the murder and instructing the killers including her son Asad Ahmed who was killed in an encounter on 13th April 2023.

According to a news by ABP News, Shaista Parveen has written a letter to chief minister Yogi Adityanath and urged him to spare her two younger sons. She said that they are not at fault and that they are being unnecessarily trapped in this. She also asked for an appointment to meet with Yogi Adityanath. The two minor sons are currently held in a juvenile home after they were detained by police following the Umesh Pal murder.

Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed were accused in the Umesh Pal murder case. Umesh Pal was a witness in the Raju Pal murder case of 2005. Umesh Pal was killed by Atiq Ahmed’s henchmen on 24th February 2023. Asad Ahmed led this killing.

Atiq Ahmed shot dead: Know more about the dreaded gangster-turned-politician’s family, many of whom are facing criminal cases

Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead late last night while they were on their way to hospital. The three perpetrators surrendered immediately before the police present at the spot and were subsequently taken into custody.

“There is no one left in the family who can advocate for my brother (Atiq Ahmed),” claimed his sister Ayesha Noori. Let’s take a brief look at the slain mafia and his family.

Atiq Ahmed: 102 cases

102 cases were filed against Atiq Ahmed, including those of threats, murder attempts, and kidnapping. The gangster act was brought against him a total of three times. Even while incarcerated in different jails in Uttar Pradesh, he held meetings and ran his criminal empire. The initial complaint was filed against him in 1979. A total of 54 cases have been heard so far at UP police stations.

Ashraf Sheikh: 52 cases

Ashraf Sheikh alias Khalid Azim, Atiq Ahmed’s younger brother, has the most cases reported after the latter. He was named as an accused by the police in the murder of Umesh Pal, and they charged him with planning the conspiracy. An accused in the murder of Raju Pal, 52 cases were filed against him.

Mohammad Umar: Accused of kidnapping

Atiq Ahmed’s eldest son is Mohammad Umar. He is accused of two crimes, including the kidnapping of businessman Mohit Jaiswal. The CBI is in charge of looking into one of these cases. He has been subject to a number of sections, and in one instance, life imprisonment may also be inflicted. A reward of Rs 2 lakh was declared on Umar and he surrendered in August 2022 only after the bounty was announced. He has been in charge of collecting ransoms since his father was imprisoned in 2017.

Mohammad Ali: Accused of demanding extortion and assault

Atiq’s second-eldest son Mohammad Ali is the subject of six pending criminal charges. Ali turned himself in in July 2022 when the police announced a reward of 50 thousand on him. He has been imprisoned in Prayagraj’s Naini jail ever since. He is charged with committing violence and extortion to obtain Rs 5 crore from a relative. He apparently handled extortion outside the jail because Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed were behind bars.

Asad Ahmed: Accused in the Umesh Pal murder case

Asad Ahmed was the third son of Atiq Ahmed, who was killed by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) in an encounter in Jhansi along with his aide Ghulam Muhammad. Both were wanted in relation to the murder of Umesh Pal and had a bounty of Rs 5 lakh on them. This year, he passed his 12th-grade exams and intended to study overseas, but his passport could not be cleared because of his family’s criminal background. There was no criminal case against him before his involvement in Umesh Pal’s murder.

Mohd Ahjam and Mohd Aaban are in a juvenile home

Atiq Ahmed’s two minor sons Mohammad Ahzam and Mohammad Aaban were taken into custody by the police on 24 Februry after the murder of Umesh Pal. Their mother and Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista Parveen filed an application in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate against the police action, alleging there their whereabouts were not known. After this, both the boys were kept in the child reform home.

Shaista Parveen: 4 cases

Shaista Parveen was also made an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case and four criminal cases are registered against her. She allegedly met the shooter before Umesh Pal’s murder. However, she is still absconding and has a reward of 50 thousand on her.

Ayesha Noori: Accused of hiding the accused

Ayesha Noori, Atiq Ahmed’s sister, accompanied him while he was transported from Gujarat to Prayagraj, following the police car. She along with her two daughters has recently been the subject of a case charging her of providing the accused of Umesh Pal’s murder with shelter and assisting in their concealment. Raids are being carried out in search of the sister and her daughters who are absconding. She and her husband Akhlaq Ahmed reside in Agra and have an opulent lifestyle which was provided by Atiq Ahmed.

Akhlaq Ahmad: Accused in the Umesh Pal murder case

Atiq Ahmed’s brother-in-law, Akhlaq Ahmed, a Meerut-based doctor was arrested on April 2 from his Meerut residence and was taken to Prayagraj in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case. He was later sent to jail for 14 days of judicial custody.

Atiq Ahmed received 8 bullets while Ashraf Ahmed received 5, critical parts of bodies were hit resulting in instant death, reveals post-mortem report

The post-mortem report of deceased mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed appeared on Sunday 16th April 2023 in the afternoon. The report revealed that the mafia brothers who were shot dead in Prayagraj’s government hospital while being taken to a medical checkup on 15th April 2023 at around 10:40 pm received several bullets. Atiq Ahmed received 8 bullets while Ashraf Ahmed received 5 bullets.

Gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were gunned down in police custody on Saturday night. The incident was carried out by three youths, who came near the police convoy posing as journalists and opened fire. During this time about 18 rounds of bullets were fired.

On Sunday afternoon, the post-mortem of Atiq and Ashraf was conducted, after which it was revealed that a total of eight bullets were fired into Atiq’s body during the shootout. Ashraf received 5 bullet injuries. The post-mortem of the bodies of Atiq and Ashraf was conducted by a panel of four doctors. The entire post-mortem has also been videographed. The bodies of both have been handed over to the family members after post-mortem, and they were buried at Kasari Masari burial ground in Prayagraj in the evening today.

The report revealed that all the bullets hit critical parts of Atiq Ahmed’s body, causing the death of the person immediately. One bullet hit the head and the other in the chest. The rest of the bullets hit the neck, stomach and waist. Ashraf Ahmed was hit with five bullets. He received bullets in his throat, the middle of his back, his wrist, stomach, and lower back. Three bullets were found inside Ashraf’s body and two passed through the body.

Dr Deepak Tiwari, Dr Brijesh Patel, Dr Ravindra Singh (Deputy Chief Medical Officer), Dr Dinesh Kumar Singh (Assistant Professor – Forensic), and Rohit Kanaujia (videographer) were in the team that conducted the post-mortem.

The court has sent the three killers of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed to judicial custody for 14 days. The police had arrested the three from the spot at the time of the incident. When the three were detained and questioned, they confessed to their crime and also gave the reason for carrying out this murder. Many cases were already registered against them.

Atiq Ahmed murder FIR: The killers wanted to become ‘popular and big gangsters’, Pakistan linked weapons used in Umesh Pal murder recovered as per Atiq’s confession

On Sunday, April 16, the three assailants arrested for shooting mafia brothers Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed dead confessed that they killed the two to ‘become popular and become big gangsters’.

Booked under IPC sections 302, 307, and Arms Act sections 3, 7, 25, 27, and Criminal Law Amendment Act section 7, the three assailants identified as Lovelesh Tiwari, Sunny Singh, and Arun Maurya told the police about the motive of the crime.

When police asked them why they did it, they said that they wanted to wipe off the Atiq-Ashraf gang and earn a name for themselves in the state which would help them in future. This has been revealed in the FIR filed by UP Police in the case.

According to the FIR, the accused persons said that they could not escape after shooting Atiq and Ashraf dead as they failed to anticipate the police cordon present there.

“We planned to assassinate Atiq and Ashraf by posing to be local news reporters and blending in with the crowd the moment we learned that they are being taken into custody by the police,” the FIR reads.

The FIR further gives several other crucial information regarding the case and the involvement of Atiq Ahmed with the criminal world and terror groups in Pakistan.

Atiq Ahmed’s ISI and Lashkar connection

The FIR further states that Atiq Ahmed confessed that he has direct connections with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. Weapons from Pakistan are dropped on the Punjab border with the help of drones and people in Punjab associated with the ISI collect these weapons and distribute them among LeT terrorists, others to Khalistani terrorist organizations, and some firearms such as .45 Bore pistols, AK-47s, sten guns and RDX are supplied to Atiq Ahmed.

“I made payments for these weapons and people belonging to these organizations. These people used to visit him often and through their conversations I got to know that they were planning to do something big in the country. I know one person from ISI who dealt in arms and from whom I procured weapons to kill Umesh Pal and his guards,” Atiq Ahmed told the police as mentioned in the FIR.

According to the FIR, on 14 April, Asad and Ashraf could not be questioned much as they were upset due to the death of Atiq’s son Asad in a police encounter. They also said that they were feeling unwell.

Detailed questioning of Atiq and Ashraf was done on 15 April, where they informed the location of the weapons used in the Umesh Pal murder. Based on their confession, one .45 bore pistol, one .32 bore pistol, 58 live cartridges of two different bores were recovered. Among the ammunition were five 9mm cartridges made in Pakistan’s ordnance factory. After the recovery of these weapons, additional charges under the Arms Act were slapped against them.

After they again complained about feeling unwell and scared, after after seeing that their conditions were not good, the police took them to the hospital for a health checkup. Accordingly, they reached the medical college and hospital in the evening. When the police were taking Atiq and Ashraf to the main gate of the hospital after deboarding the vehicle, reporters surrounded them to ask questions. The police arrived at the medical college at around 10.35 p.m. With the media all around them, they had taken no more than 15 to 20 steps when they stopped to give the byte to the media present there.

According to the FIR, one reporter dropped his camera, and another dropped the microphone as soon as Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf began speaking to the media. Suddenly, both of them took out weapons in a swift move and shot at them from point-blank range. After they fell to the ground, the third shooter shot at them. All of these were captured in cameras.

While Atiq and Ashraf were the primary target, stray bullets hit some people, including one of the shooters and a policemen.

Accused Lovelesh Tiwari, some journalists, and a police officer were injured during the firing

It is stated in the FIR that accused Lovelesh Tiwari was injured during the cross-firing by the co-accused persons and is being provided medical attention at Prayagraj’s Swaroop Rani Hospital.

Mann Singh, a constable, was shot in the right hand during crossfire. Minor injuries were also sustained by a few of the journalists who were covering the incident. However, it is believed that they were not shot but they were injured due to the ruckus created by the incident. Taking prompt action, the police nabbed all the assailants and seized their weapons as well. Severely injured Atiq and Ashraf were brought to the hospital, where the doctors pronounced them dead.

Weapons recovered from the accused assailants and formation of three-member enquiry committee

According to the press note, the police have recovered one country-made 30 pistol (7.62), one made in Turkey 9 mm Girsan pistol, and another Turkey-made 9 mm Zigana pistol.

The government has sought a report from the three-member judicial enquiry committee looking into the killings of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf within two months.

The committee will be headed by retired Justice Arvind Kumar Tripathi of Allahabad HC and will also comprise retired IPC officer Subesh Kumar Singh and retired District Judge Brijesh Kumar Soni. Earlier on Saturday, hours after the murder of the duo, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the Prayagraj incident and ordered the formation of a three-member Judicial Commission (Judicial Inquiry Commission) in the matter.

Western media makes little mention of the criminal background of Atiq Ahmed, focuses on the gangster’s political career instead

A day after the assassination of Atiq Ahmed in Prayagraj city of India, western media publications in their coverage laid more emphasis on the political career of the gangster than his criminal background. Almost all the foreign media houses called him a former lawmaker in their reports, choosing to omit that he was a former gangster and named in dozens of criminal cases, including murder cases.

In its report published on Sunday (April 16), Reuters not only referred to Atiq Ahmed as a ‘former Indian lawmaker’ but also made passing remarks about his criminal history.

While the assassination has been described in detail, the media outlet also ensured that the mention of a judicial probe into the case is prefixed by the reference to BJP as a ‘Hindu nationalist party.’

Reuters also referred to the police encounter of Asad Ahmed but without delving into the details of his criminal activity. Thereafter, it relied upon testimonies made by an Opposition leader (Akhilesh Yadav) to cast aspersions on the ability of the Uttar Pradesh government and police to crack down on criminals.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) also used a similar ploy wherein it focused on every other aspect except for the criminal record of Atiq Ahmed.

“Experts have raised questions on how a man could be killed in front of the media and the police,” it insinuated about government underhand in the assassination.

Not surprisingly, the UK’s national broadcaster also lay emphasis on the meteoric rise of the gangster in the political sphere. BBC also cast doubts about the encounters carried out by the Uttar Pradesh police.

“Rights activists accuse the police of carrying out extra-judicial killings, which the state’s government denies. The police usually calls them “encounters” – many say these are really staged confrontations which almost invariably end with dead criminals and unscathed police,” it claimed.

Associated Press employed similar tactics but went a step ahead in demonising the sacred Hindu chant of ‘Jai Shrim Ram.’

Screengrab of the article by Associated Press

“The men quickly surrendered to the police after the shooting, with at least one of them chanting “Jai Shri Ram,” or “Hail Lord Ram,” a slogan that has become a battle cry for Hindu nationalists in their campaign against Muslims,” the report read.

It also cast aspersions on police encounters, especially the one pertaining to Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad. The report also identified BJP as a ‘Hindu nationalist party’ and suggested a larger conspiracy into the assassination of the gangster.

While it is not unusual for Western media publications to whitewash criminals, it is perhaps the first time that a gangster’s political career is the topic of discussion rather than his criminal background.

History-sheeters, drug addict, attempt to murder, robbery and others: Atiq Ahmed’s killers have a long criminal history

0

On April 15, Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were killed by three assailants. Banda resident Lovelesh Tiwari’s family has said they were not in touch with him. They claimed he was a drug addict. Sunny Singh from Hamirpur was not in contact with his family. Third shooter Arun’s family members denied any knowledge of his involvement in the crimes.

23 years old Sunny Singh is a history-sheeter and has 14 cases filed against him at the Kurara police station, according to UP Police. However, some media reports claim that there are 17 cases against him. He hails from Kurara of district Hamirpur. Reports suggest he has linked to the mafia Sunder Bhati from Noida. The charges against him include attempt to murder, robbery, illegal weapons, smuggling of illegal drugs and offences under the gangster act.

Statement by UP Police

Sunny’s brother and father died long ago and his mother lives in her paternal house. Sunny has been active in the criminal world for over ten years, and has no contact with his family. His elder brother Pintu Singh said the family has had nothing to do with Sunny for a long time.

As per media reports, Lovelesh Tiwari’s father revealed he was a drug addict and left home a long ago. He was accused of slapping a girl. His father Yagya Tiwari assured the police to provide all support in the case. On the other hand, Lovelesh’s mother said her son is a devotee of Lord Hanuman and helps others. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shalabh Mani Tripathi has requested the media not to trouble Lovelesh’s father unnecessarily.

22 years old Lovelesh Tiwari is also named as accused in several cases including illegal alcohol smuggling, violence, harassment of women and offences under the IT Act. The cases against him are registered at Kotwali Town and Baberu police stations.

Lovelesh had enrolled for BA, but he had failed the exams, after which he left studies and started to get involved in petty crimes.

Statement by UP Police

18-year-old Arun Kumar Maurya, the third shooter, hails from Baghela Pukhta of Kasganj. According to a statement issued by UP Police, there is no information of any criminal case filed against Arun Kumar Maurya. However, a Zee News report claims that he was accused of killing a GRP constable.

His old mother did not know about the incident. Their hut does not even has a roof. Police are questioning Arun’s family to get more details on the matter.

Uttar Pradesh: MP-MLA court in Ghazipur to award punishment to Mukhtar Ansari on April 29 under Gangster Act

The MP-MLA court of Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh has rescheduled the date for the order on cases against Mukhtar Ansari to April 29. In this order, the court is going to award the punishment to Mukhtar Ansari and his brother Afzal Ansari under the gangster act.

The date for the court order was postponed, according to additional district government counsel (criminal) Ghazipur Niraj Srivastava, because the MP-MLA court’s presiding officer was not present on Saturday, 15th April 2023. He stated that on April 1 when the court withheld its decision, the trial in the case was completed.

Both Mukhtar Ansari and Afzal Ansari are booked under the gangster act in 2007. Mukhtar Ansari was charged for his role in the 1996 abduction of coal industrialist and Vishwa Hindu Parishad office-holder Nandkishore Rungta and the murder of BJP legislator Krishnanand Rai in 2005. After being listed on the gang chart created in response to the murder of Krishnand Rai, Afzal Ansari was also booked in this case.

The Krishnanand Rai murder case

Krishnanand Rai was an MLA from Muhammadabad. He was also close to Manoj Sinha, who was a minister for 5 years in the previous central government from 2014 to 2019. It is notable that Afzal Ansari defeated Manoj Sinha in 2019 to become an MP from Ghazipur. Krishnanand Rai was killed on 29th June 2005. His six companions were also killed in this mayhem.

Unfazed by the regime, the killers fired 400 rounds of bullets. After the incident, 67 bullets were removed from the bodies of the deceased during the postmortem. MLA Rai was popular among the people, which led to tremendous protests. Among those who protested were many people who are now in power in UP and Delhi. Rajnath Singh had staged a sit-in protest against this murder at that time for 14 days and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee himself had to come to end his protest.

Atiq Ahmed would have killed Mayawati just a day before she became CM: Read details of the Guest House Case

On 15th April 2023, mafia Atiq Ahmed was killed in Prayagraj’s government hospital when he was being taken for a medical checkup. His brother Ashraf Ahmed was also killed. Both of them were accused and convicted in many cases. Atiq, who had instilled fear in the minds of people for decades, was killed by the attackers in front of both the police and the media. A bullet was fired into his head, after which several shots were fired at the brothers. Atiq and Ashraf died immediately.

Atiq had spread his terror for 44 years. At the age of 17, he was charged with murder. Apart from this, he was involved in extortion. Despite his dangerous history sheet, he got political patronage in the previous governments.

Guest House case

As a result of this political patronage, he was involved in attacking Mayawati in the 1995 guest house case incident. Mayawati has also mentioned him in this regard many times from various stages. She has said in the past that it was Atiq Ahmed who had conspired to kill her. It is said that if Mayawati was not accompanied by two junior police officers that day, the mob that entered the guest house could have done anything.

The ‘guest house scandal‘ took place on the 2nd of June 1995 in room number 1 of the state guest house situated on the Meerabai road of Lucknow, when some goons of the Samajwadi Party including a few elected representatives had assaulted BSP leader Mayawati for withdrawing support from the then SP-BSP joint state government of the Uttar Pradesh headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav, founder, and president of Samajwadi Party. Mayawati was sworn in as the chief minister of the state the next day.

Raju Pal’s murder brought Atiq Ahmed into a trouble

Atiq’s political career began in 1989. He contested initially as an Independent, then sometimes from Samajwadi Party, and sometimes from Apna Dal. He became a five-time MLA from Allahabad West assembly and MP from Phulpur in 2004.

When the Allahabad MLA seat went vacant after Atiq Ahmed became an MP, he used his strength to get his brother Ashraf to contest the MLA seat. However, after Ashraf was defeated by Raju Pal, both the brothers became furious and within a few days MLA Raju Pal was murdered. Umesh Pal, who was killed by Atiq’s henchmen in February 2023, was a witness in the same case. On his testimony, a charge sheet was filed against all the accused including Atiq Ahmed.

BSP government started a crackdown against Atiq Ahmed as a revenge

Before the murder of MLA Raju Pal in 2005, Atiq Ahmed was named in the infamous guest house case in Lucknow. Atiq Ahmed was the main accused in the case. He was accused of plotting the guest house incident. After becoming CM, Mayawati did not forgive him for a long time. Whenever Mayawati’s government came to power, she took action against Atiq. Cracking down on the mafia, and taking action on his properties started during the BSP regime.

Yogi Adityanath finished the terror of this mafia

However, Atiq Ahmed’s terror was finished after 2017, when the Yogi Adityanath government came to power and appeared committed to a zero-tolerance policy towards the mafia. Atiq Ahmed has been behind bars continuously since 2019. In 2022, charges were framed against him in the Raju Pal murder case of 2005.

Atiq Ahmed’s family joined Bahujan Samaj Party

Meanwhile, Mayawati’s anger with Atiq Ahmed slowly faded away. The BSP chief herself came ahead and gave political patronage to Atiq’s family. On January 6, 2023, Atiq Ahmed’s family joined the BSP. It is said that on the instructions of Mayawati, Atiq’s family was associated with the BSP. Shortly after that, BSP’s former Rajya Sabha member Ghanshyam Chandra Kharwar also made Shaista Parveen the mayoral candidate of BSP from Prayagraj.

The Ahmed clan has been reduced to ruins

Before Atiq’s family’s career flourished with the BSP, this family and Atiq’s gang carried out the Umesh Pal murder and then the Yogi Adityanath government started a campaign to demolish the mafia cartel. A few days after the murder, Atiq’s henchmen were killed. Atiq’s condition was also bad. He had started opening his terror connections in front of the police. He told the police how he used to procure weapons from D Company, he also had links with Lashkar-e-Taiba and ISI. But then Asad Ahmed was killed in an encounter and Atiq Ahmed broke down as soon as he heard the news.

After this, Atiq again showed arrogance and threatened the UP STF officials that he would show his power after getting released from jail. However, he was shot dead a day after the threat. This also finished off the 44-year-old terror that he started in 1979 in the greed of becoming rich.

His father was a tanga driver, but he wanted to become rich and powerful so much that he never thought about anything before involving in extortion or committing murders. Atiq had more than 101 cases registered against him. Among them, the Raju Pal murder and the guest house case were the most discussed. Atiq and Ashraf were not bloated by killing Rajupal, but today, due to this case Atiq Ahmed, his brother, son, and his henchmen all are dead. At the same time, the police are still investigating the reason behind the murder of this mafia.

Netizens mock new AAP protest-drama over CBI questioning Kejriwal, point out uninterested Bhagwant Mann scrolling through his phone

On Sunday, April 16, Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning in relation to the Delhi liquor policy scam case. As Kejriwal’s questioning commenced, several AAP leaders including Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Raghav Chaddha, Atishi, Sanjay Singh, Saurabh Bhardwaj, and others staged a ‘dharna’ outside CBI headquarters and raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi such as “Gali gali mein shor hai Narendra Modi chor hai” and “Modi Adani bhai bhai desh bech ke khai khai.”

While other AAP leaders seemed interested in doing the sit-in protest and were participating in the sloganeering against the Modi govt, the eagle-eyed netizens were quick to notice that Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann seemed not interested in the protest. While he was sitting with other leaders, he was not chanting any slogans in support of Arvind Kejriwal. Instead, he was busy scrolling through his phone, as seen in a video from the scene.

A Twitter user named Trupti Garg wrote, “Just look at Bhagwant Mann’s reaction…Bilkul ignore kar raha hai (He is completely ignoring).”

Taking a jibe at AAP’s Sanjay Singh one CSK Fan (7) wrote, “Sanjay Singh looks professional. Rojka kaam hai lgta hai”(It seems like this is his daily job).

Himanshu Mittal seemed rather concerned about the Punjab CM’s security and also called out AAP leaders for causing ‘ruckus’ over Arvind Kejriwal being summoned for inquiry. “Very interesting to see how party workers are creating ruckus and obstacles when leader of their party is summoned for just enquiry!! More interesting, #PunjabCM is sitting on road with no interest and there is no security seen around him. Now this is actually concerning point,” Mittal tweeted.

Meanwhile, Miss Fair&Square wrote, “Ek nashedi, ek ticket blackiya, ek joota chor, PM ko chor bol rahein hain. Also, notice Chadda. He’s LSE educated so he won’t do a “culling mosquito clap” like the ticket blackiya. Pegwant Mann is checking out (Beer mug emoji) deals in duty-free shopping.”

Pointing out at an uninterested Punjab CM, one Sushen Tamkoria wrote, “Absolutely love how Punjab CM is not giving a fuck.”

One Aveer seemed upset with CM Bhagwant Mann as he wrote, “This person represents 3 crores Punjabis!! Shame.”

One Sushant wrote, “Bhagwant Mann and Chaddha look like the least interested ones in this whole nautanki…By the way, when @SanjayAzadSln is going to be summoned by the agencies??”

Some netizens also pointed out that Delhi assembly speaker Ram Niwas Goel was also sitting on the road in protest of CBI questioning of Arvind Kejriwal, and asked if it is proper for a speaker to join political protests. Rahul Kaushit wrote, “Sitting between Chadha and Atishi is the Delhi Assembly speaker Ram Niwas Goel. Is this allowed for someone sitting on a constitutional post to sit on the pavement like a sadak-chhap and raise slogans against the Prime Minister? Even as Kejriwal’s questioning continues, several AAP leaders protesting outside the CBI office have been detained.”

Even as Kejriwal’s questioning continues, several AAP leaders protesting outside the CBI office have been detained, including Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh and others.

Addressing a press conference, AAP leader Gopal Rai claimed that Delhi Police has arrested 32 MLAs and 70 councilors protesting in support of Arvind Kejriwal. Police also detained 20 MLAs of Punjab who were coming to meet the Delhi CM, Rai claimed.

Delhi Excise Policy Scam Case

The liquor policy was initially proposed in September 2020, but it was not put into effect until November 2021. The entry of private players and the departure of government-owned liquor dealers altered how alcohol was sold in the National Capital.

While eliminating black marketing and the liquor mafia was the goal of the Excise Policy 2021–2022, the Delhi government soon came under scrutiny for alleged corruption. Naresh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Delhi, uncovered irregularities and procedural errors in the new liquor policy. On the advice of Naresh Kumar, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena requested the CBI conduct an investigation.

It was discovered that Manish Sisodia had, under the pretext of the Coronavirus pandemic, wiped off 144.36 crores of the licence price that the private liquor merchants were supposed to pay. Additionally, he eliminated the $50 import pass fee for each beer case, costing the Delhi government money while helping those with liquor licences.

Moreover, the Delhi Excise Rules of 2010 and the Transaction of Business Rules of 1993 deem the changes to the Excise Policy to be unlawful because they were made without the Lieutenant Governor’s final approval.

The Delhi government revoked the new excise policy in July 2022. Following that, the CBI filed an FIR against Manish Sisodia and several other people for irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy 2021–2022.
