Self-proclaimed ‘comedian’ Sanjay Rajoura, who is in soup lately over his abusive rants against the Hindus, its customs and deities, has yet again stoked a controversy after he continued to make casteist comments targeting the Brahmins.
Far-left ‘comedian’ Sanjay Rajoura, who is not only unfunny but extremely abusive, took to Facebook to share a video of motivational speaker Sandeep Maheshwari. In the carefully edited clip of one of the speeches of Maheshwari, the motivational speaker was heard speaking regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
In the video, shared by Rajoura, Sandeep Maheshwari was speaking about the increasing number of coronavirus cases and its psychological impact on people. He was seen putting his opinion on how the decrease in coronavirus testing would result in less detection of the cases, resulting in media lessening its sensationalism over coronavirus pandemic.
According to Sandeep Maheshwari, common people stepping out of their houses was the need of the hour, which necessitates a boost in demand and helps in the revival of the economy, which is stuck due to coronavirus pandemic. In the video, Maheshwari argues that it is the fear for coronavirus, thanks to the hysteria created by the media over the pandemic, rather than the symptoms of the disease itself, which has created such a scare among the public.
However, the self-proclaimed free-speech warriors like Sanjay Rajoura, who laments over lack of freedom to express their opinion, took to social media to mock at Sandeep Maheshwari for expressing his opinion on the issue. Not only he mocked Sandeep Maheshwari, but the far-left comedian also went on to make casteist comments against him.
Baaman is a term used to refer to Brahmins
“When will these Brahmins and Baniyas stop giving motivational speeches. This is how merit looks like,” said Sanjay Rajoura launching an attack on Sandeep Maheshwari. Essentially, Rajoura did not want Sandeep Maheshwari to express his thoughts and rather indulged in the usual anti-Brahmin rhetoric.
In another message posted last week, Rajoura had again referred to Brahmins as ‘Baaman’.
Sanjay Rajoura’s anti-Brahmin tirade
Sharing a video by Jamaican cricket commentator Michael Holding on racism, Rajoura said that in today’s India, for calling out racism, Holding would’ve already received ‘rape threat’ by some ‘Baaman’.
Sanjay Rajoura caught making anti-Hindu statements, complaint registered
In a video clip that has now gone viral on social media, Rajoura was heard mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement about the advancement of science and medicine in ancient India.
“He said first plastic surgery took place in India. You know whose? Of Ganesh. Even if I believe that world’s first plastic surgery took place in India, at least you could’ve done a good job. This shows how you shouldn’t do such things after smoking up,” he said to an audience roaring with laughter.
Soon, a complaint was filed against ‘Aisi taisi Democracy’ comedian Sanjay Rajoura for mocking Hindu gods and goddesses and hurting religious sentiments.
Sanjay Rajoura and history of abuses
Sanjay Rajoura is not new to abuses and the anti-Hindu hateful rants. With his ‘comedy’ career almost dead, Rajoura, just like his fellow far-left comrades now indulges in hurling abuses to other social media users.
He had earlier resorted to name-calling and threatening other Twitter users after they disagreed with his views. He has also displayed his casteist behavior on Twitter by abusing the Brahmin and Rajput communities.
India has thanked the Afghan leadership for its efforts in facilitating the release of 55-year-old Nidan Singh Sachdeva, an Afghan Sikh community leader. He was abducted a month ago from a gurudwara in the Pakita province of Afghanistan and got released on Saturday. Anurag Sachdeva, spokesperson Ministry of External Affairs expressed appreciation to the Afghan leadership, security forces and tribal elders.
The Indian government has hinted that if he applies for Indian citizenship under Citizen Amendment Act, the government will process the request. Sachdeva moved to India in the 1990s with his family and is eligible for Indian citizenship. He is currently living in Delhi on a long-term visa and often returns to Afghanistan. He was at the Thala Sri Guru Nanak Sahib gurdwara in Chamkani district at the time of abduction on 22nd June.
Wife’s appeal to PM
His wife wrote a letter to PM Modi on 25th June asking for help in his release. She said in her letter, “Paktia is an epicentre of Taliban insurgency and in the past has been a safe haven for militants from the Haqqani network… we apprehend that a militant organization may have abducted him”. She added that minorities living in Afghanistan are facing severe atrocities, and there is no guarantee of their safety.
Indian Express quoted Jasmeet Singh, son of Sachdeva saying, “We want his return to Delhi at the earliest. In videos we received, he can be heard saying he was tortured in captivity. We will get to know more details only after we speak to him.”
MEA criticises Pakistan for supporting terrorists
In its statement, MEA said that they are concerned about the targeting and persecution of minority community members by terrorists at the “behest of their external supporters” without mentioning Pakistan. The MEA further added that India has recently decided to facilitate the return of Afghan Hindu and Sikh community members to India who are facing security threats in Afghanistan.
In a video after his release, he thanked Afghanistan security forces and members of Sikh and Hindu community for their efforts. He alleged that he was tortured in captivity. Chhabol Singh, member, managing committee, Gurdwara Dashmesh Pita Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Singh Sabha Karte Parwan, Kabul said in a statement that Sachdeva is still in Chamkani. The details about his release will be clear once he is back to Kabul.
Previous attack on Gurudwara in Kabul claimed 25 lives
On 25th March, 25 people were killed and 15 injured in a heinous attack on Gurudwara in Kabul. Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) which is an arm of Islamic State (IS) in Pakistan and Afghanistan was behind the attack. Indian Intelligence hinted additional role of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Haqqani Network in the attack.
On Saturday, crude bombs were reportedly hurled at BJP workers, prior to the scheduled public rally by BJP MP from Barrackpore, Arjun Singh. The incident took place in Shymnagar in North 24 Parganas in West Bengal.
The State unit of the BJP reportedly wanted to take out a protest march against the rise of terror, perpetrated by the Trinamool Congress (TMC), in Bhatpara, following the attack on one of its members, and also against corruption in the distribution of relief to the victims of the cyclone Amphan. When BJP workers flocked to the protest site, an explosion took place at the spot.
The BJP had accused the TMC of trying to disrupt their rally. Following the explosion, a large contingent of police was deployed at the scene. Reportedly, 4 people were injured during the attack. Even though the rally was postponed for some time, it was resumed afterwards.
As per reports, a scuffle broke out between the BJP workers and the police after the latter stopped the party’s bus at Palta. The BJP workers then broke through the barricades put up by cops, in a bid to stop them, and continued with their rally. The rally was led by Arjun Singh.
Arjun Singh accuses TMC
“TMC leaders and police under the leadership of Joint Commissioner Ajay Thakur have tried to disrupt our rally by creating chaos, and unleashing violence. A young boy has suffered critical head injuries in the crude bomb blast. He may die at any moment. 200 police officers are at my house now. How can you lead a democratic protest in Bengal under these circumstances?” BJP leader Arjun Singh was quoted as saying.
Crude bombs recovered from TMC worker
Earlier in May, the Bhagwanpur police had reportedly recovered 153 crude bombs from the backyard of one local resident and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporter named Sheikh Kasemuddin in Lalpur village of East Midnapore District in West Bengal. The incident had created a state of panic among the residents of Lalpur village. The locals had questioned the police as to how such a large quantity of crude bombs was stockpiled under their watch. The cops were also in a state of a dilemma over the recovery of 153 crude bombs, amidst the Coronavirus lockdown.
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut speaking to Republic Media Network’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami opened up on the latest controversy over the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the role of the ‘movie mafia’ behind the systematic discrimination in the movie industry which could have resulted in the death of the 34-year-old actor.
The three-time national award winner did not mince her words in referring to the late actor’s death as ‘murder’, accused big producers, directors, and film-makers, calling them to be a part of ‘movie mafia’, who ‘systematically sabotaged’ Sushant Singh’scareer.
The 34-year-old Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14. The postmortem report said that the actor died due to asphyxia caused because of hanging. However, many believed that the actor ended his life due to the discrimination in the industry and the prevailing nepotism in Bollywood.
Why were powerful not questioned in the case: Kangana Ranaut
The Bollywood star, calling the ongoing interrogation by Mumbai Police a ‘complete sham’, said that the Mumbai Police have failed to summon powerful people who are being questioned in the public domain or the ones who pushed him into a depressed state of mind.
Kangana Ranaut, questioning the Mumbai Police, asked why have cops still have not summoned the ‘powerful’ people. She added, “What gives these people the license to say things like ‘Your end is near’ for artists? If they (Mahesh Bhatt) knew Sushant wasn’t feeling well, why didn’t they call his father and tell that your son is not well? Why did Rhea call Mahesh Bhatt? Who is he?”
Ranaut further said she was summoned, but told them to send someone to take her statement in Manali. I haven’t received anything after that, she said. Ranaut stressed that Mumbai Police should summon two big Bollywood producers — Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra.
Calls out production houses for restricting Sushant Singh Rajput
Kangana Ranaut also accused top production house, Yash Raj Films of being responsible for causing mental harassment to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
She also disclosed that Rajput was “hired” by YRF’s talent agency to manage his professional choices. However, she said that the company’s policies and its contract with artists were “evil” as they are restrictive and do not allow actors to make independent choices.
Sushant got very important big-budget films, but could not commit to this big opportunity as his contract with Yash Raj Films forbade him from signing other films, said Kangana Ranaut. Kangana claimed that Ranveer Singh, who was hired by YRF similar to Sushant, was allowed to do a lead role in Bhansali’s films instead.
She clearly stated that Sushant Singh Rajput’s contract with YRF restricted his progress and did not allow him to foray into other films. Kangana attacking Aditya Chopra, said that the producer did not even bother to compensate for Sushant’s missed opportunity. Kangana alleged Chopra was instrumental in ‘ensuring his doom’.
Javed Akhtar said she will end her life someday: Kangana Ranaut
In a shocking disclosure, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has revealed that the controversial song-writer Javed Ahktar had asked the actress to apologise to Hrithik Roshan failing which she might end up taking her own life.
Speaking to Republic TV, Kangana Ranaut exposed the notorious “suicide gang” in the Bollywood industry by alleging that filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar, among others, as a part of it.
Narrating a personal experience dealing with these individuals, Kangana alleged that Javed Akhtar had enough political connections to get away with pretty much anything in Mumbai and recalled the intimidation she was subjected to by these people a few years ago.
Kangana recalled how during the Hrithik Roshan controversy, Javed Akhtar had allegedly asked her to apologize to Hrithik.
She revealed, “I call this gang ‘suicide gang’. Akhtar called me to his house and said clearly, ‘If you don’t apologise to Hrithik Roshan, you will have to commit suicide. They will put you in jail, they have found evidence.’ I asked him, ‘What evidence? What have I done?’. To this, Javed Akhtar said, “Tere mooh kaala ho jaayega, tu jaayegi kaha?”(“You will be disgraced, where will you go?”)
The Bollywood actress also revealed that Mahesh Bhatt was Javed Akhtar’s dear friend and said that they can intimidate any person with such subtle threats.
Mahesh Bhatt instrumental in causing distress to Sushant: Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut alleged that Mahesh Bhatt was instrumental in causing distress to Sushant Singh Rajput’s mental health. She also recalled the ‘mafia hangover’, said Mahesh Bhatt gets offended if any artist declines his offer. She revealed that Mahesh Bhatt had thrown his footwear at her when she rejected his film and questioned its content.
Kangana also hit out at Mahesh Bhatt in her videos, and did so once again during the interview. She said she was offered a film Dhokha, where a female Muslim suicide bomber was to be glorified. She said that the premise of the film was such that a woman was tortured so much she became a suicide bomber. Kangana said that even at 18 she knew becoming a suicide bomber for ‘avenging’ torture was not to be glorified. “He yelled at me. He was about to come on to me like he was going to beat me. His daughter had to hold him back,” she said. She further alleged that Bhatt chased him when she went for screening of the film ‘Woh Lamhe’.
Kangana Ranaut questioning the role of director Mahesh Bhatt in Sushant Singh Rajput’s life, she asked, “Why was he counselling Sushant?” She added, “What gives these people the license to say things like ‘Your end is near’ for artists? If they knew Sushant wasn’t feeling well, why didn’t they call his father and tell that your son is not well?”
“What was Mahesh Bhatt doing between Rhea and him? Everyone wants to know. Why is Mumbai Police not calling Mahesh Bhatt for questioning?”
Wanted to commit suicide after personal targeting: Kangana Ranaut
Speaking to Republic TV editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, the ‘Queen’ actor Kangana Ranaut said that she at one point of time had contemplated of committing suicide after facing systematic suicide in the industry.
Recalling the 2016 incident, Kangana said, “I signed 19 brands after my blockbuster 2016. Then my ex from 2013 filed a case against me. Now, these corporates have a clause that if an actor has a legal case running, the brands should drop them. And they dropped me.”
“Someone like me who’s got 3 National Awards and a Padmashri only on the basis of acting would never make it to Karan Johar’s good actor list, Sushant also never made it to his list. 18 brands dropped me within 2 months. Where are my options? Maybe I didn’t have the thought of killing myself but definitely shaving my head off and disappearing,” the Bollywood actress revealed. She said she was labelled a ‘man-eater’ and ‘daayan‘ (witch) because of the rumours.
She added, “My relatives didn’t let their children meet me because you turned me into a nymphomaniac. Called me so many things in public. As a girl, having a marriage and a child is no more an option for me. They turned Sushant also into a rapist. How will he go back to Bihar? Small cities don’t value money, they value respect”.
Aditya Chopra said you are finished for refusing his film
The multi-award winner Kangana Ranaut said she was threatened by producer-director Aditya Chopra when she refused to work in Salman Khan-starrer ‘Sultan’.
“When I said NO for Sultan, Aditya Chopra told me that he will never work with me,” Kangana said in her interview with Arnab Goswami.
Kangana Ranaut said that she knew the internal workings of this industry is only through her own experience. She revealed that she did not want to work with Khans after delivering a blockbuster on her own. Reacting to this, Aditya Chopra apparently said to her that, “You are finished”.
“The director came to my house and narrated the script. I had a meeting with Aditya Chopra… just so that I could express my apologies in person and he was fine at the time. But later a news piece came out saying ‘Kangana said No to Sultan’. And then he messaged me, ‘How dare you?! You say No to me’. And then he told me, ‘You are finished’,” Kangana said.
Will give up my Padma Shri if I fail to prove charges: Kangana Ranaut
The Bollywood star also said that she was ready to return her Padma Shri if she failed to prove her statements in the investigation of the case.
“I am telling you, if I have said anything, which I can’t testify, which I can’t prove, and which is not in the public domain, I will return my Padma Shri. I don’t deserve it. I am not that person who will go on record (to make such statements), and everything that I have said is in public domain,” Kangana Ranaut said.
The death of Sushant Singh Rajput has opened a can of worms as there has been a raging debate across the country regarding nepotism and favoritism to star kids in the industry, which resulted in 34-year-old self-made actor committing suicide. Following that, Bollywood biggies like Kangana Ranaut have stepped their attack on the movie-mafia in the country, especially targetting Mahesh Bhatt and Karan Johar.
During a meeting on 18th July, Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust decided on two possible dates to lay down the foundation for Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The trust has sent an invitation to PM Narendra Modi to join the proceedings. They have asked PMO to finalize any date among 3rd and 5th August for “Bhoomi Poojan”. The final decision will depend on the hectic schedule of PM and other factors, including the widespread of Chinese coronavirus across the country.
L&T begins soil sampling
Kameshwar Chaupal, member Ram Janmabhoomi Trust said that the Trust had sent two dates to the Prime Minister to choose from. “The construction will begin on the date he deems fit,” he added. Champat Rai, General Secretary, Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust said that Larsen & Toubro is collecting soil samples for testing. The drawings for the foundation of the temple will be based on the strength of soil 60 m below the surface.
Many trust members, including Trust president, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Maharaj, were present for the meeting held in circuit house on 18th July 2020. While eleven trust members were present at the circuit house, four joined via video conferencing. Before the meeting commenced, members from RSS and VHP met with the saints and discussed the course of action.
Outreach program to collect funds for Temple to begin after monsoon
Champat Rai said that Sompura Marbles would provide the bricks for the Ram Temple. Rai also informed that once the Monsoon season gets over, the trust will start an outreach program to 10 crore families across four lakh locations in the country to raise funds for the temple.
Changes proposed in Temple design
There are some changes in the size and design of the temple. As decided by the trust members, now there will be five domes instead of three. The proposed height of the temples has been raised to 161 feet from the previously decided 148 feet. However, the design of the temple will remain in accordance with the one provided by Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Renowned architect Chandrakant Sompura, who designed the initial blueprint for the temple will continue the work. It may take up to 3.5 years to complete the construction.
Babri Masjid advocate Iqbal Ansari said in a statement that they are ready to welcome Prime Minister to Ayodhya. He noted that the construction of the temple should begin soon as desired by the saints. There were some rumours regarding Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in the past few days. A news report suggested that PM Modi wants to build an all-religion site in Ayodhya which turned out to be fake. Nripendra Mishra, Chairman Ram Mandir Trust debunked all such rumours while talking to the press.
The Pakistan government has reportedly spent PKR 30 lakh on members of a British parliamentary group, which visited the country and the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) region between February 18-22 this year. The said group was led by Debbie Abrahams and it sought ‘justice’ for the people of Kashmir. Abrahams was reportedly denied a visa to India due to her expired e-visa. She had been a vocal opponent of the abrogation of Article 370 in the past.
As per the report, the register of All-Party Parliamentary groups on Kashmir (APPGK) had received monetary benefit amounting between £31,501 and £33000 from the Pakistan government during the members’ visit to Pakistan and PoK in February. Reportedly, the ‘benefit in kind’ was received on February 18, 2020.
All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPG) are bound to declare benefits that are worth more than £1500 pounds in its register. The members of APPGK who visited Pakistan and PoK comprised of MPs and politicians across party lines. As per AsianLite report, some of the members of the group were of Pakistani descent. Their objective was to support the right to self-determination of Kashmiris and seek justice for the so-called ‘human rights abuses’ in Kashmir.
The original news report in Asian Lite International
Funding by Pakistan government in 2018
Reportedly, the British Parliamentary group had also received similar monetary benefits from the Pakistani government in the past. On September 17, 2018, the Pakistan High Commission in London paid around £12,000 to the APPGK for a trip to Pakistan and PoK between September 17-20 in that year.
APPGK recently held meeting on Kashmir
On July 15, APPGK has recently held a video conference meeting with Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon and discussed the topic of Kashmir. According to MP Tan Dhesi who was present in the said meeting, concerns were raised by him regarding the escalated tension in the Kashmir region between India, China and Pakistan. He also recommended the re-opening of Kartarpur Sahib, ‘protection’ of human rights in Kashmir, and freeing democratically elected leaders.
Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon tweeted, “Good discussion with Debbie Abrahams and colleagues in the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir. I reinforced the need for all actors to protect and uphold human rights. UK continues to encourage efforts to bring economic development to the region.”

Debbie Abrahams has connections with the ISI
Earlier, the intelligence agencies had revealed that the Debbie Abrahams was in contact with an ISI conduit Raja Najabat Hussain, the chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI). The agencies suspect JKSDMI to be an ISI-funded organisation. The revelation came after Debbie was deported after arriving in India as her visa was already cancelled by Indian authorities. According to the intelligence agencies, Hussain was in touch with Debbie on several occasions and the Pakistani spy agency has been financially supporting activities of the APPGK.
Congress’s online magazine for ‘youth’ Yuva Desh and Islamists joined hands with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to attack and hurl personal abuses at columnist Shefali Vaidya after she asked the ‘animal rights group’ to be as vocal about goat sacrifice on Bakri Eid as it is about Hindu festivals.
We shouldn’t tolerate such brutal trolling by PETA India. Let’s all oppose it ??
Every hypocrite needs to be shown a mirror. A vegetarian/animal lover will always oppose animal killing without having it to ralate to any religion. Non vegetarians talking about lives of animals is sheer bullshit. Very well done @PetaIndia#SnakesLivesMatterpic.twitter.com/alyg2cINij
— Sapna Madan / सपना मदान (@sapnamadan) July 19, 2020
Soon, PETA India, taking cue from the support it received from Congress and Islamists who attacked Vaidya by calling her names and ‘snake’, tweeted how they ‘help’ snakes too.
While PETA has been on the receiving end of criticism for its lack of courage to take on Islamic festival which include inhumane animal slaughter, personal attacks on an individual is a new low even by PETA standards.
PETA and goat slaughter on Bakri Eid controversy
PETA India recently launched a ‘go vegan’ campaign wherein it asked Hindus to not use cow leather ‘this Rakshabandhan’. Netizens were shocked to see the campaign poster as leather, especially cow leather, has no correlation with the Hindu festival. In its defence, PETA claimed that the message of the campaign was that cows are like our sisters and hence they too need protection. Which is even more strange because cows are revered as mothers in Hinduism, not ‘sisters’. Further, just few weeks prior, Muslim clerics had opposed PETA’s poster in Lucknow appealing banning goat slaughter. The poster was later removed after it hurt the ‘religious sentiments’ of Muslim clerics. Lucknow Police told OpIndia that PETA removed the posters after opposition from Muslim clerics. However, Bhaskar report claims police informed them that the posters were removed without PETA’s knowledge.
After the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced its guidelines to conduct exams of the final year students, the debate surrounding exams took a turn for the worse. Calls for mass promotion intensified, digital smear campaigns, co-ordinated spamming exploded onto the Social Media sites and confusion became the new normal for the students.
Historically our nation has fought against many socio-political divides. Our fighting spirit comes from our legacy of struggle for Independence and social equality. But even after our glorious strides in the past seven decades, some bad elements trying to exploit our nation’s fault-lines do exist a plenty. And I believe creating a faultline between promotee and non-promotees will result in an unbridgeable class-divide. The consequences of which no entity can predict right now.
As the Coronavirus cases refuse to signal its retreat, many student outfits of some political parties are hellbent on receiving mass promotion for students. The student community is left helpless to the political wolves trying to capitalise on student’s peril. NSUI, a student body affiliated to Congress, has been shepherding the effort while student bodies of other political parties play second fiddle. The hysteria surrounding pandemic and with no normalcy in sight, students across India are stricken with fear. The abovementioned student bodies are trying to encash this fear to sub-serve their own political agenda. Mass Promotion aside, they have gone as absurd as demanding 10% bonus marks too. The people demanding Mass Promotion are either unable to comprehend the ripple effect of this or are purposefully sacrificing student’s future to gain political ground.
If we take a look back into the period of 1973-74, The ‘Navnirman Andolan’, a student-led agitation against corruption, was blooming in Gujrat. The exams of year 74 were made voluntary and Mass Promotion was in effect. Those who went in and gave exams received marks accordingly, those who didn’t were promoted. Story of two batchmates from L.E. College in Morvi, which was the epicentre of Navnirman Andolan, tells a telling tale. One whose father was a principal in another college, explained to him about perils of promotion and he gave exams, another didn’t and was promoted. After completing his education, the later applied for a job with Tata Motors in Pune. He was turned down explicitly because he was ‘Mass Promotee’. PSU’s denied Promotee scholars in favour of others and even though foreign education was not as prevalent as today, the aspirants suffered the same fate. In the end, those who took the easy way out literally chose the ‘Way Out’.
The carrot of promotion which is being dangled in front of students to gain political momentum effectively divides students into two classes. Branding one of them as rejects, freeloaders or worse. The realities of the job market are harsh as is, but the inherent disadvantage of walking into it as a promotee makes them even worst. As the example shows, for an employer you who accepted mass promotion cease to exist as a person. Your talents, aspirations, dreams and desires are no more, and you just become another brick in the wall of promotees. A wall on which others step on to climb high while you don’t. No human should go through this but those who are gambling for their own gains might commit large section of students to this future if they succeed in canceling all exams. ‘Promoted due to COVID-19 circumstances’ is already showing up on students marksheets, marking the beginning of a new class divide!
With justifiable fear for health controlling students, is it okay to give into their demand of Promotion? Is it necessary to create a generation of ‘Rejects’ to be passed on and ignored in favor of their contemporaries who by no fault of their own are being made to experience this trauma?
The overpoliticization of the issue also doses not help. The political leadership demanding mass promotion be it Congress-Left or the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra are fearful of being ousted, and instead are trying to court the public instead of leading them out of this crisis. Choosing what’s popular over what’s right seems to be their mantra in order to maintain their already shaky grip on the power. States who have already failed to contain the outbreak in the first place are now capitalizing on the fear and legitimate health concerns of the students. This is an elaborate scheme to sweep their failures under the rug. This deliberate attempt to sabotage education may seem like an easy solution right now, but this feels like a sinister ploy to engineer a new class divide which come election can be harvested as a vote bank. The political parties who have lost their significance post 2019 may see this as an opportunity to disenfranchise this class, create discontent and win next elections. And here we see, the Brits may have left India, but their tactic to divide and rule still prevails at the cost of student’s future.
When all apex bodies of various professions already rejecting mass promotion, the student is now confused, scared, angry and rightly so. But one thing they must remember, two years down the line it is they themselves who will have to fight the stigma of being a ‘Promotee’, It’s their degree which will have to face harsh scrutiny and fight the stigma attached to it, not some politician. And in the end their degree should reflect culmination of their hard work and not some stamp forced on them by petty politicians. It is in our hands to choose whether to be a victor or a victim.
So, with hoping for the better future I appeal to the student community, that we learn from the past, see through the smokescreen of Social Media outrage and make an informed choice. Choose courage over fear, patience over panic and evaluation over promotion.
The past few weeks haven’t been too good a time to be a stand-up comedian in India. It all started with the Agrima Joshua controversy but soon escalated into a free-for-all digital slam-dunks on comedians. Screenshots of tweets and clips of their performances went viral on social media, following which, quite a few of them deactivated their account on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The whole affair, which was a stellar advertisement for Prime Minister Modi’s Digital India campaign, came to an end with ‘edgy’ comedians, drunk on the intoxicating fervour of revolution, apologised profusely, not to the BJP who they accused of being fascist, but the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance and the MNS.
One so-called comedian whose tweets and videos went viral on social media is Radhika Vaz, a generally obnoxious woman who disguises her lack of manners under the guise of humour. When her tweets started going viral on the platform, she defended herself saying that she had only ‘questioned’ man-made traditions and did not mock any religion. Needless to say, she was not very revolutionary when she started feeling the pressure.
Tweet by Radhika Vaz
There were times, however, when Radhika Vaz was feeling pretty revolutionary, enough to perform on stage without any shred of clothes on her body. In an act in 2015 that was titled ‘WHAT THE F**K SHOULD I WEAR?’, she demonstrated her ostensible confusion by not wearing anything at all on stage.
Unfortunately, however, the jokes were not up to the mark and her performance was not strong enough and therefore, one could not be sure whether the audience was laughing at her or her jokes. And largely, it came across as gross moral sermon rather than humour.
In another clip of hers that went viral, Radhika Vaz could be seen mocking the Hindu festival of Karwa Chauth in an extremely derogatory manner. She also referred to the Hindu women who observe the fast for the health of their husbands as ‘bi*ches’. Throughout the clip, which was about two minutes long, the ‘comedian’ could be seen speaking of the sacred festival in an extremely disgusting fashion.
Look at this rice bag convert @radvaz abusing Hindu beliefs and faith Then if someone abuses her she will play victim card
Radhika Vaz also has an extremely unorthodox sense of humour, to put it mildly. For instance, she has proudly mentioned that she does not call her father ‘dad’ or anything of that sort. She calls him ‘motherf*cker’, she says.
In her father’s day wish to her father, Radhika Vaz said that others could have the world’s greatest dad but she has the world’s coolest ‘motherf*cker’.
Radhika Vaz also appears to harbour a rather unhealthy obsession with the female genitalia. She drags in the biological organ whenever she has to denigrate a Hindu festival.
Radhika Vaz is also an extremely abusive woman and freely abuses anyone and everyone who replies to her tweets. She is as abusive as the abusive ‘trolls’ she claims to abuse, probably much worse.
Source: Twitter
While Radhika Vaz wastes no opportunity to insult Hindu traditions and festivals and hurt Hindu sentiments, she is quite appreciative of Islamic tools of oppression. In any case, for a ‘comedian’ who appears to enjoy public nudity and performed on stage wearing nothing, she also wants to try out Islamic garments such as the Burqa and the Hijab, widely seen by women across the world as a tool of oppression.
Radhika Vaz also appears to hate everything Hindu, so naturally she hates Hindu men as well. She claims that India is the 4th most dangerous country in the world for women and she blames Hindu men for it. However, it is not clear where she conjured those statistics from and how she reached the conclusion that Hindu men are responsible for it.
tweet by Radhika Vaz
Furthermore, her claim that she has never insulted Hindu religion is quite clearly wrong as she has made extremely derogatory tweets about Hindu Gods in the past. In one such tweet, Radhika Vaz said, “Goddess Laxmi was definitely in my building last. Just saw her do the walk of shame this morning.”
‘Walk of Shame’ is defined as “An instance of walking back home on the day after an unplanned casual sexual encounter, typically dressed in the same clothes as the previous evening.” It is an extremely derogatory manner to talk about Hindu Gods. Thus, her claim that she has never made fun of any religion is quite clearly a lie.
Tweet by Radhika Vaz
Given all of this, it is quite clear that Radhika Vaz is an abusive hypocrite who disguises her unpleasantness under the garb of humour. It is also clear that she targets one, and only one, religion over and over again while giving other religions a free pass. Furthermore, her ‘revolutionary’ zeal is quite hollow as she is only ever too willing to compromise with her supposed hallowed principles in order to escape legal consequences for her actions.
A distressing video of a girl desperately pleading for justice for her family and her slain father has gone viral on social media. In the video, the girl, identified as Kiran Rajput, is seen seeking justice for her father’s murder. She has alleged that the police officials of Govindpura area of Bhopal have colluded with the murderers in order to shield them.
“Is there anybody who can help us. We are very poor and a great deal of wrong is being committed against us. Even after my father’s murder, R N Chouhan of Govindpura police station has received bribery to distort the charge sheet filed in the case. In the charge sheet, I have received today, murderers’ relatives have been listed as witnesses and the depositions of the witnesses provided by us have been twisted and warped to absolve the miscreants of their crime,” the girl said in anguish.
Apparently, Kiran has been fighting for her father’s murder since mid-April but the heartrending video of her desperate appeal which was uploaded yesterday has caught the attention of social media and shook their conscience. A bevvy of netizens have expressed their support and solidarity with Kiran and have asked the Madhya Pradesh government to launch a probe into the explosive allegations levelled by Kiran. #JusticeForKiranRajput was trending on Twitter, with people extending their support to the victim who is seeking justice for her father’s murder.
Kiran’s father murdered by assailants
Kiran, who hails from Govindpura area of Bhopal, had posted a tweet regarding her father’s death on April 20. Sharing a picture of her father’s dead body, Kiran claimed that about 8 boys barged into her house and mortally injured her father, who died after being in an unconscious state for 3 days. She added that the police officials of the Govindpura police stations were on the payrolls of the miscreants who had thrashed her father, alleging that the law enforcement officials were in cahoots with the wrongdoers.

The entire sequence of the incident has been painstakingly chronicled in a blog post. Kiran says that on the afternoon of April 16, about 14 men came to her house. Out of 14, 6 of them broke into their house and dragged her father out of the house, on the platform situated outside, she alleged. According to her account, the men, identified as Deepak, Aman, Aakash, Bhura, Tomma and Raj, were the ones who barged into her house and hustled her father out. They were all armed with weapons such as batons, steel rods, hockey and baseball bats.
Her father was mercilessly thrashed by the truculent men. Even her family members, who tried to stop the attackers from beating their father, were not spared, the blog uploaded by Kiran claims. She has also added the photographs of the injury allegedly sustained while fending off the miscreants who had charged at her home and assaulted her father. After enduring the fatal injuries for about 3 days, her father breathed his last on April 18.
Kiran alleges Police of being in cahoots with the murderers
Kiran and her family members have approached the police station to bring to book the culprits who are responsible for the death of her father. However, she has levelled explosive allegations against the police, alleging them to be in cahoots with the murderers and claiming that they have all been bribed to assist and protect the criminals. Kiran has alleged that despite naming all the culprits in the FIR, the police refrained from mentioning the same in the FIR. She also added that even after giving detailed information about the weapons brought by them, they were conspicuously absent from the FIR.
“My father’s post mortem report says that his eye was smashed. His skull was seriously damaged and he had sustained severe injuries at 9 places in his body. Can this all be done without weapons?” said Kiran in the blog post.
Kiran has sought action against Special Inspector RN Chouhan of Govindpura police station, claiming that he has received bribe from the culprits in lieu of protecting them.
