As Ashutosh quits AAP, Social Media erupts with speculations and mirth

Senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, Ashutosh, took to Twitter on Independence Day to state that he has quit the party due to personal reasons. He wrote, “Every journey has an end. My association with AAP which was beautiful/revolutionary has also an end. I have resigned from the PARTY/requested PAC to accept the same. It is purely from a very very personal reason. Thanks to party/all of them who supported me Throughout. Thanks.”

Speculations have become rife following Ashutosh’s resignation from Kejriwal’s party. Some appear to believe that he is set to return to TV Studios before 2019.

Others see it as an indication that Kejriwal may be contemplating a merger with the Congress party ahead of the 2019 General Elections. They speculated that just like Ashish Khaitan, Ashutosh is now leaving the party to these people can fight for Sonia Gandhi from the TV studios instead of being a part of AAP officially.

Some appear to believe that not being elected the Rajya Sabha candidate from his party prompted Ashutosh to offer his resignation.

Others chose to see the funny side of things.

Whatever may be Ashutosh’s reason for quitting the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal has some serious cause for introspection. With the Delhi government at war with its bureaucracy and him, Manish Sisodia and 11 other MLAs having been charge-sheeted by the Delhi Police, there appears to be no end to Kejriwal’s troubles.
