Fugitive Vijay Mallya files for permission to appeal against his extradition orders in the UK

Trying his level best to evade the extradition process, fugitive liquor baron, Vijay Mallya has filed his application in the UK High Court, seeking permission to appeal against the extradition order signed by the British Home Secretary.

As per reports, the business tycoon, who remains on an extradition warrant in the UK, had made the application in the Administrative Court division of the High Court on Thursday, 10 days after Home Secretary Sajid Javid signed the extradition order, giving Mallya a 14-day window for the appeal application.

According to a UK court representative, “the application has been sent for a judge on papers decision, which is expected any time between two to four weeks.”

A ‘judge on papers’ decision will involve a High Court judge examining the merits of the application and if it is accepted, the case will proceed to a ‘substantive hearing’ in the next few months’ time, as per reports.

If by any chance Vijay Mallya’s application gets rejected at this stage, he will have the option to submit a ‘renewal form’.

The renewal process will lead to a 30-minute oral hearing, during which Mallya’s legal team and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), representing the Indian government, will renew their respective claims for and against an appeal for a judge to decide if it can proceed to a full hearing. This process may take months depending on various factors, such as availability of judges.

Following the outcome at the High court level, both parties could appeal to the Supreme court, which would further delay the process by another six weeks.

However, that process is more complex as the UK High Court must certify that the appeal involves a point of law of general public importance, and either the High Court or the Supreme Court gives leave for the appeal to be made.

Mallya who is active on social media did not make any renewed comment on his appeal. However, earlier after the home secretary had signed off on the Westminster Magistrate’ Court order in favour of Mallya’s extradition on February 4, the businessman had taken to social media to confirm his plans to seek an appeal.

The fugitive business tycoon and the former boss of the now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines has been wanted by Indian authorities after he fled to the UK in early 2016.

Recently, there have been reports that the Enforcement Directorate (ED), through a consortium of banks led by the SBI, has informally conveyed to Heineken NV, the part-owner of United Breweries (UB), that it intends to allow banks to auction Vijay Mallya’s shares in the company that the banks had attached once the court grants its approval to the agency for the same.

Earlier last month the former Rajya Sabha MP was declared a fugitive economic offender by the special PMLA court in Mumbai and there were reports that his properties could now be confiscated by the Government of India.

It was reported in October 2018, that Swiss bank USB had moved the UK High Court seeking an order of eviction against Vijay Mallya, his mother, and son from their plush multi-million-pound mansion overlooking Regent’s Park in London. The bank has sought repossession of the property over the non-payment of a 20.4 million pounds’ mortgage loan.

Mallya had left India in March 2016 and is wanted by Indian authorities for defaulting on loans taken from a consortium of Indian banks to the tunes of 9000 crores.

Congress IT Cell head shares NDTV’s half truth to discredit Vande Bharat Express, insensitively drags Pulwama terror attack

In a rush to discredit the success of India’s fastest train ‘Vande Bharat Express‘, the actor-turned-politician Divya Spandana not only resorted to propagating fake news but also went on to pass some insensitive statements regarding the recent Pulwama terror attack.

In a tweet, Divya Spandana, the Congress IT cell chief and one of the close aides of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, attempted to disrepute the newly launched India’s fastest train-‘Vande Bharat Express’ which was stopped midway after it had suffered a cattle hit. Divya Spandana through her post not only resorted to propagating fake news but also tried to use it as an opportunity to politically target and troll Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

Train-18, which has been officially renamed as ‘Vande Bharat Express’ was on a trial run with few passengers from Varanasi to Delhi. While the newly launched train was returning to Delhi, it suffered a cattle hit and broke down early on Saturday morning at Tundla, around 200 km from Delhi.

As one of the cattle had come under train’s wheels, the communication system of the last coach broke down affecting the train’s control management system. The coach was isolated and the train resumed its journey at 8.15 AM. However, the ‘Vande Bharat Express’ was not a scheduled commercial run.

NDTV, the Congress-backed left-wing channel, often known for propagating fake news, deliberately ignored the fact of the cattle hit and presented their report as if Train-18 had stopped due to some technical issues while trying to discredit NDA government for its successful initiative.

Divya Spandana, in a hurry to target the NDA government, especially at a time when the entire nation is mourning for the death of 44 CRPF soldiers, used the half-truth report of the NDTV to paint a picture that Train-18 was already a failure. In her attempt to defame Indian Railways, she also dragged the heinous incident of Pulwama terror attack to troll Railway Minister Piyush Goyal for his alleged statements, where he had allegedly said that Train-18 was a response to Pakistan for perpetrating terror in recent Pulwama attack.

The Congress social media cell head has also shamefully justified Pulawama terror attack mastermind Adil Dar joining Terrorism. Divya Spandana retweeted a Twitter post of highly controversial, ultra-left wing lawyer Prashant Bhushan, in which he had justified Kashmiri youths joining terrorism to wage war against the country.

Pulwama terror attack: Congress and its President, Rahul Gandhi’s good-cop-bad-cop routine is not fooling anyone

Kashmir witnessed one of the most horrific and dastardly terror attacks yesterday. The death toll in the horrific terrorist attack sponsored by the terrorist state of Pakistan has reached 44 and the entire nation is thirsting for revenge. The anger and the demands for punitive action to be taken against Pakistan has been louder than ever, as India bids goodbye to its braves.

Even as the Left ecosystem blamed India and some even celebrated the attack, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress president, displayed remarkable and surprising maturity in the face of such adversity.

Rahul Gandhi said that this is a time of mourning, sadness and respect and that Congress is fully supporting the Government of India and our security forces. He added, “we are not going to get into any other conversation apart from this”.

After Rahul Gandhi’s reactions on the Surgical Strikes, Congress asking for proof of the strikes by the Indian Army and Rahul Gandhi branding ‘Bharat tere tukde honge’ slogans as freedom of speech, this statement by the Congress President was certainly a breath of fresh air. Perhaps, finally, Rahul Gandhi had “come of age”. But has he?

No matter how much Rahul tries to feign respect for the armed forces, more often than not, his true self provides a glimpse into his nonchalance.

For starters, while paying respects to the martyrs, Rahul Gandhi was seen fidgeting with his mobile phone.

Then, there are his party members who run amock making outlandish and offensive statements at this hour of grief.

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who often expresses his love towards the terrorist state of Pakistan has once again issued a shocking clean chit to Pakistan by claiming that ‘Terrorism has no country’ and indicated that Pakistan has no role in the Pulwama terrorist attack.

While condemning the heinous terrorist attack on the CRPF soldiers, Navjot Singh Sidhu said that terrorism has no country, giving a clean chit to Pakistan despite Jaish-e-Mohammed, a terrorist group backed by the Pakistani establishment has taken the responsibility for the attack on CRPF soldiers at Pulwama.

On the other hand, Congress trolls who Rahul Gandhi met personally have been floating theories about how India itself maybe responsible for the Pulwama attack. Insinuating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘let the attack happen’.

At the same time, Divya Spandana, Rahul Gandhi’s close aide and Congress’ IT Cell Head was found retweeting tweets that whitewashed the terrorist who carried out the Pulwama terror attack.

Divya Spandana endorses tweet whitewashing Pulwama terrorist

Firstly, there is no corroborative evidence to what the terrorist’s father is saying. It is obvious that the father would blame the security forces and the Indian Army for the fate of his son, but the fact remains that Islamic radicalisation is high in Kashmir. For Divya Spandana to endorse a tweet that blames the Army for a terrorist being radicalised and then murdering 44 CRPF jawans in cold blood betrays the ‘mature’ stance that Rahul Gandhi is pretending to take.

In fact, the line taken by Divya Spandana is no different from what radical Islamists take while trying to shield their terrorists.

Yet, after that one mandatory statement by Rahul Gandhi, we have seen no condemnation of this line of argument taken by his party functionaries and supporters.

One would not be off the mark to assume that Congress is trying to play good-cop-bad-cop. While Rahul Gandhi postures with a ‘mature’ line post the Pulwama attack, his party functionaries have been given a free hand to pander to the “secular” and leftist elements who would blame the Indian Army for Kashmiri terrorists.

Politically, Rahul Gandhi’s strategy makes sense since he seems to be monkey-balancing between opposing ideologies. While his support to the central government may please concerned citizens and those millions who stand with the Indian Army, statements by his party functionaries and supporters pander to the Islamists and Leftists who have historically been against the Indian Army and have supported Pakistan. However, one can only hope that the Indian electorate has matured and learnt to discern these political tactics that exploit the emotions of the citizens.

Instead of correcting the defects in their petitions, lawyers are busy claiming publicity: SC on Rafale review petitions

0

The Supreme Court has expressed displeasure over some lawyers seeking wide publicity over the Rafale case by filing defective review petitions. A Bench headed by CJI Gogoi while referring to the review petitions filed against the Rafale Case verdict said that the lawyers who file these petitions go to the media for publicity instead of removing the defects in these petitions.

“The other side is not so innocent. The petitioners go to media and claim wide publicity,” said the Bench consisting of CJI Gogoi and Justice Sanjiv Khanna. The remarks by the Apex Court came when it was hearing the lawyers who were mentioning cases for urgent listing and hearing.

The CJI clarified that the delay in the hearing of the review petitions is not on the part of the Court but on the part of the lawyers who are not correcting the defects in the petitions.

Earlier, on December 14 the Supreme Court had dismissed a batch of petitions challenging the Rafale deal saying that there was no occasion to “really doubt the decision-making process” requiring the setting aside of the contract. Petitions seeking filing of an FIR and a court-monitored probe into the alleged irregularities in the Rafale deal entered into between India and France were rejected by the Apex Court. The review petitions filed in the court include the petition of Aam Admi Party lawmaker Sanjay Singh.

Sonu Nigam, Kangana Ranaut blast those who preach peace to India after Pakistan sponsored terror attacks

The horrible terrorist attack in Pulwama that claimed 44 lives of Indian CRPF personnel on 14 February has caused millions of people to express their anguish and pain at the brutal loss of lives and the savagery displayed by Islamic terrorists.

In a video that has now gone viral, singer Sonu Nigam has shared his anger that millions of Indians are feeling right now after the dreadful terrorist attack on CRPF Jawans that saw 44 young personnel martyred. In a scathing attack on the ‘secular liberal’ intelligentsia that often shows solidarity with separatists and Tukde Tukde gang that hails terrorists and blames the Indian security forces for violence in Kashmir, Nigam has reminded everyone of the slogans that had reverberated in JNU to celebrate Afzal Guru.

In the video Nigam takes a caustic dig on people who have raised slogans of ‘Bharat Tere Tukde Honge, Inshallah Inshallah” and Afzal Hum Sharminda Hain, Tere Qatil Zinda Hain” in JNU a couple of years ago. He calls the secular liberal gang and their supporters to stop pretending to care for the soldiers who have lost their lives.

Nigam’s video is being hailed as a tight slap to the preachers of peace, the kind of people who never stop claiming that ‘Terror has no religion’ but do not miss a chance to blame RSS, Hindutva and nationalist forces for every mishap.

Nigam’s video is also hard hitting on numerous Bollywood celebrities who had gone overboard on claiming intolerance, Islamophobia and have been a part of placard protests to target Hindus and Hinduism while maintaining an eerie silence over endless acts of violence committed by Islamic terrorists.

Actor Kangana Ranaut too has expressed her disdain for the ‘Aman Ki Asha’ preachers, who pretend to call for peace and dialogue while turning a blind eye towards the very religious fanaticism that causes deaths and violence in the Kashmir.

Ranaut has said, “Pakistan has not only violated our nation’s security they have also attacked our dignity by openly threatening and humiliating us. We need to take decisive actions or else our silence will be misunderstood for our cowardice. Bharat is bleeding today, the killing of our sons is like a dagger in our gut, anyone who lectures about non-violence and peace at this time should be painted black, put on a donkey and slapped by everyone on the streets.”

Recently, actress Shabana Azmi announced that the cultural exchange between the artists of India and Pakistan cannot take place at the wake of such attacks. She had announced that they will decline an invitation by the Karachi Art Council.

Shabana Azmi tweets

Kangana, however, was unfazed by the announcement. Not known for being one who minces her words, Kangana even tore down on Shabana and Javed Akhtar.

Kangna recalled the celebrity couple’s support for the Tukde Tukde gang and said, “People like Shabana Azmi calling for a halt on cultural exchange, they are the ones who promote Bharat Tere Tukde Honge gangs. Why did they organise an event in Karachi in the first place when Pakistani artistes have been banned after Uri attacks? And now they are trying to save face? The film industry is full of such anti-nationals who boost enemies’ morals in many ways, but right now is the time to focus on decisive actions. Pakistan ban is not the focus, Pakistan destruction is.”

Kangana Ranaut has canceled the celebratory event organised for the recent success of her movie Manikarnika to stand in solidarity with the grieving families of the CRPF Jawans.

Pulwama terrorist attack: US NSA John Bolton speaks to NSA Ajit Doval, supports India’s right to self-defence

Following the deadly terrorist attack by Pakistani terrorists in Pulwama, on Friday US National Security Adviser John Bolton has assured Indian NSA Ajit Doval that America supports India’s right to self-defence.

According to the reports, John Bolton talked to NSA Ajit Doval on Friday morning to express his condolences for the death of 44 CRPF soldiers in the Kashmir and offered his country’s full support to India in confronting terrorism.

“I told Ajit Doval today that we support India’s right to self-defence. I have spoken to him twice, including this morning… and expressed US’ condolences over the terrorist attack, he told PTI.

Adding that the US has been very clear to Pakistan on ending support to terrorist safe havens, Bolton said that the US has been very clear on the issue of terror and said that they are continuing to be in discussions with the Pakistanis. Earlier, the White House and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asked Pakistan to end its support to terrorist safe havens inside the country.

“We stand with India as it confronts terrorism. Pakistan must not provide a safe haven for terrorists to threaten international security, Pompeo said on Twitter.

In a strict message to Pakistan, the White House has asked Islamabad to “immediately end” its “support” to all terror groups and not to provide “safe haven” to them, as the US condemned the brutal Pulwama terror attack claimed the lives of at least 40 CRPF soldiers.

“The United States calls on Pakistan to end immediately the support and safe haven provided to all terrorist groups operating on its soil, whose only goal is to sow chaos, violence, and terror in the region,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a late night statement on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid his last respects to the 40 CRPF personnel martyred in the Pulwama terror attack carried out by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) at the Palam technical area. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a clear warning to Pakistan and the perpetrators of the terror attack on a CRPF convoy in the Valley, on Friday he said ”security forces have been given “full freedom” to choose a “time and place” for the “future course of action”.

India has lodged a strong protest against Pakistan on Friday in connection with the Pulwama terror attack and said that it would reach out to diplomatic channels to ensure Pakistan’s complete isolation internationally. India’s Foreign Secretary, Vijay Gokhale has met around 25 heads of missions based in New Delhi from United Nation P5 countries, South Asian countries and Japan, Germany and the Republic of Korea. India also withdrew Pakistan’s MFN (Most Favoured Nation) tag.

Sohail Mahmood, the Pakistan high commissioner to India, was also summoned by foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale, who issued a very strong demarche in connection with the terrorist attack. Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria has also been called to Delhi for consultations on diplomatic action against Pakistan in the wake of the dreadful Pulwama attack.

Security of elements having links with terrorist organisations will be reviewed: Rajnath Singh on Kashmiri Separatists

In the aftermath of the horrific terrorist attack on a CRPF convoy at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Rajnath Singh reached Srinagar to pay homage to martyred CRPF soldiers and review the security situation. In an address to the media, the Home Minister expressed solidarity with the families of the slain soldiers. “We stand with the families of the jawans. We salute the bravery of our martyrs. We will succeed in fighting terrorism. We have requested the state governments to help the families of the deceased”, Singh asserted.

In an obvious reference to Kashmiri separatists, Singh said that there are some elements which are in connivance with terrorist organisations and are involved in terror conspiracies.

The Home Minister said the security provided to such elements who take money from Pakistan will be reviewed.

These comments of the home minister imply that security cover provided to Hurriyat Conference leaders will be reviewed, and may be withdrawn.

Singh announced that for some time, the civilian movement will be stopped when a large convoy of security forces will pass through an area.

Following the ghastly terrorist attack on the CRPF personnel that shook the conscience of the whole nation, PM Modi has announced that the security forces have allowed full freedom to act in the wake of the attack.

Congress supporting abusive troll claims Pulwama was an inside job by India

Congress supporting abusive troll Sanjukta Basu today took to social media to claim that the Pulwama terror attack by Jaish-e-Mohammad which claimed lives of 44 soldiers, could be an inside job carried out on behest of Prime Minister Modi owing to ‘criminal-politician nexus’. It all started last night when Basu, was triggered perhaps by the wave of grief that took over the country over one of the worst terror attacks on armed forces, wondered if this attack could have been a conspiracy.

She was encouraged by a Congress spokesperson in the conspiracy theory.

But then, Basu took an offence to people calling it a ‘conspiracy theory’. She went on to justify it by referring to it as ‘history repeating itself’. In a Facebook post published by Basu at about 3:30 pm today, Basu lies.

It is not conspiracy theory. This is just history repeating itself. 2001, BJP was at its worst in Guj, endless allegations against Keshubhai Patel of corruption, misgovernance. Modi by then known as a successful election strategist but never contested a single election himself. He was offered Dy CM post to turn around BJP’s performance in forthcoming election in Dec 2002. He refused DyCM post, either CM or nothing, he said. Party gave in. He was sworn in as CM on 7th Oct 2001 without ever contesting a single election. Within 5 months March 2002 Godhra happen. He sat quietly as people died. He let the tragedy escalate. “Let Hindus take revenge,” he was reportedly heard saying. State govt (Modi as CM) caused 24 hours delay in sending support to Army, said Gen Shah in his book. Modi was overnight the face of Hindutva. Dec 2002, BJP’s great performance in elections.

Sanjukta claims that ‘Modi was reportedly’ heard saying “Let Hindus take revenge.” This is a lie as there is no such evidence. In his public address right after the Godhra carnage where 58 karsevaks, the pilgrims returning from Ayodhya, were burnt alive, the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had appealed for peace.

Her second lie is that the state government caused a 24-hour delay in sending support to the Army. She cites General Shah’s book “The Sarkari Mussalman” to prove her point. However, the note submitted as part of the investigation by the ACS (Home) as well as media reports from back then proves otherwise. Within 16 hours of official communication, the Army was brought from forward/border areas and deployed in Gujarat, thereby completely refuting Lt Gen Zameeruddin Shah’s claims.

Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. Zameeruddin Shah, actor Naseeruddin Shah’s brother, was appointed as the vice chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University in 2012, under the UPA. As vice chancellor of AMU had rejected demands of girls to access the Maulana Azad Library by reportedly saying that there would be ‘four times more boys’ in the library if girls are around. Since Times of India reported the incident, Lt. Gen. Shah banned Times of India on the campus.

Taking her conspiracy theory further, Basu explains how as children, facing tough exams, one wishes for a natural calamity to get the exam cancelled, the Pulwama terror attack is a ‘win-win situation for JeM and Modi-Shah’. How, you ask? Sanjukta’s fertile brain has reaped another story. “JeM gets to reaffirm their presence in the Valley and Modi gets to re-enact the same drama of how he is a strong man with 56″ chest, seeing him Pakistan pisses in its pants. He can teach a Pakistan lesson in their own language. You saw this drama, fell for it, trusted him but what happened then? Have you forgotten Modi’s photo hugging Nawaz Sharif eating biryani. Why was Modi so friendly to Shariff a corrupt Pakistani politician now doing jail for corruption? Why did Modi call ISI of all people to investigate Pathankot airbase attack? Why the Pathankot attack happen in first place, soon after Modi visited Pakistan?”

So the man who is on the hitlist of each and every terror organisation because of the riots which broke in Gujarat after the Godhra carnage is now hand-in-glove with the very people who want him dead. One wonders if being harebrained is one of the prerequisites of being a Congress loyalist or one becomes one after having too much Pappuitis.

To prove her point further, she mentions that the Supreme Court has also voiced similar concerns over ‘politician-criminal nexus’. Well, she is indeed correct in this. Recently, Gujarat Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor’s aide was arrested for violence against Non-Gujaratis in Gujarat. Thakor has also sat on a fast demanding release of a riot accused. While there is nothing new about politician-criminal nexus, to cast aspersions that the Prime Minister of India is conspiring with the terrorists who actually want him dead, to kill his own soldiers is a bit too far-fetched, to say the least.

She adds she does not speak from ‘hate’ and her allegations should be investigated. “Modi is a hollow man with an insatiable hunger for power. An incompetent liar with big talks zero action. He needed a tragedy to make votes out of your tears, anger and fear. So it is not very shocking if he chose to ignore intelligence inputs and let JeM carry out its attack. An attack of this nature cannot happen without internal support. I hope voices will rise from within our forces. Because they know the truth,” she adds.

Of course, her insinuations are not stemmed from hate.

Sanjukta had spent past 24 hours building ground for the theory that the Pulwama attack was an inside job, carried out on behest of Modi.

Of course, others chimed in too.

Clearly, back in 1999, the BJP knew that 20 years later, Modi will need the terrorists who want him dead to kill soldiers so he could again win elections on the promise of killing the terrorists. Okay, then.

And of course, Modi should be investigated because he met Nawaz Sharif.

Only an extremely troubled, hate-filled person would want India and its Prime Minister investigated for a terror attack perpetrated by JeM. An attack, for which JeM has taken responsibility. The hate that blinds such an individual clearly, has no remedy.

Sanjukta Basu’s hate for Modi and Hindus, in general, is not new. In fact, she once sent a legal notice to TimesNow for referring to her as Hindu-hater.

Sanjukta Basu described as Hindu hater by Times Now

This was after the Congress President had a social media outreach where he met his supporters including Abhishek Mishra, who was recently arrested for spreading fake news. Sanjukta, in a bid to toe to the party line, even went on a sexist, abusive rant against ANI’s Editor, Smita Prakash, after Rahul Gandhi slyly referred to as ‘pliable journalist’ for her interview with Prime Minister Modi.

But perhaps there is more to it than what meets the eye. What if the trolls are just testing the ground by putting out such wild allegations before Pennywise himself comes up with something as outrageous? We have seen how after trying to legitimise distasteful attacks against Goa Chief Minister and former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar with his false narrative about dubious tapes, Rahul Gandhi then politicised his personal visit to the ailing chief minister who is recovering from pancreatic cancer, to lie about Rafale.

While Rahul Gandhi said that he was on a personal visit and Congress even confirmed that the dubious Rafale tapes were not discussed, Rahul later claimed that Parrikar had nothing to do in the new Rafale deal ‘orchestrated by PM Modi’ to ‘benefit Anil Ambani’. This came a day after he tweeted alleging that Parrikar is ‘in possession of explosive Rafale secrets’ which give him power over the PM.

So what if, after testing the ground on social media for reaction, Pennywise goes ahead and tries to build a narrative that the Prime Minister was hand-in-gloves with Jaish-e-Mohammad? After all, the minions are already on the job.

Pulwama attack: India starts effort to isolate Pakistan in international arena, Foreign Secretary briefs envoys of around 25 nations

0

In the wake of the ghastly Pulwama attack, which has left the country trembling in extreme anguish and rage, the Foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale briefed the envoys of key countries in India on Friday to apprise them on Pakistan’s involvement in supporting terrorism.

The meeting was part of the government’s diplomatic outreach to work towards, what has been described by the government as an attempt of “complete isolation” of Pakistan.

As part of continuing diplomatic efforts on the matter, Foreign Secretary has met around 25 Heads of Mission based in New Delhi today, which included all P-5 countries – US, China, Russia, the UK and France – (permanent members of UN security council), all South Asian countries and several other important partners like Japan, Germany, Republic of Korea and others.

All the head of the mission were convinced of the role Pakistan plays in supporting and breeding terrorism. They all agreed to the fact that Pakistan has supported Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in carrying out this demonic act and unanimously felt that Pakistan should forthwith stop funding and supporting terrorism.

The Foreign Secretary also highlighted the role played by Pakistan in using terrorism as an instrument of its state policy. The Ministry of External Affairs will continue to take all steps to expose the complicity of Pakistan in the Pulwama Attack and demand immediate and verifiable action against JeM and its leader Masood Azhar.

Prior to this, the foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale of the Ministry of External Affairs had summoned the Pakistan High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood at MEA to register India’s protest against the Pulwama Terrorist attack.

Earlier today, taking stock of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the aftermath of the grisly attack on the CRPF personnel, a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to take diplomatic action to isolate Pakistan on an international level.

Briefing the media after attending the CCS meet, senior Cabinet minister Arun Jaitley announced that the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to Pakistan stands withdrawn.

Almost immediately after the Pulwama attack, India had reminded the international community about efforts to ban terror groups operating from territories controlled by Pakistan. It had also voiced how an attempt to designate Jaish-e-Mohammed chief, Masood Azhar as an international terrorist is still pending.

Relating to the anguish and infuriation of the citizens, PM Modi today promised vengeance against the plotters of the ghastly attack. He reassured that the country’s Armed Forces have been given free rein to exact revenge from Pakistan. PM further warned that the perpetrators committed a huge mistake to attack the Indian armed forces, for which they will have to pay a huge price.
