Trinamool Congress on Sunday (June 29) issued a show-cause notice to senior party leader and Kamarhati MLA Madan Mitra for his controversial remarks regarding the rape of a student of South Calcutta Law College by a TMC functionary

A war of words has erupted within the Trinamool Congress after a student leader linked to the party was accused of rape. Controversial remarks by senior leaders triggered backlash, forcing the party to issue a clarification and deepen internal divisions.

A case of conversion has come to light in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. An attempt was being made to change the religion of children outside Madhav Rao Sapre school. Three women have been arrested in this case. The women were trying to deceive the children outside the school. Allegedly, the three women were asking children to go to church and convert to Christianity after a holiday outside the school.

On Thursday (26th June), when the family members of the victim went to a local fair, the BNP leader seized the opportunity to break into his house and rape her at gunpoint.

According to reports, the NIA found that most of the men involved in the murder of the Hindu activist are directly connected to the banned radical Islamic outfit Popular Front of India (PFI).

Mohammed Zubair played a central role in triggering Sar Tan Se Juda protests across the country, which ultimately led to the killing of Kanhaiya Lal.

"He has been killed as part of a conspiracy," the victim's mother told AajTak News. She said that Yash was in a relationship with a Muslim girl.

TMC leader Monojit Mishra threatened to kill the victim's boyfriend and get her parents arrested using his political influence in the ruling party.

The rape accused has been seen meeting several TMC leaders, including Abhishek Banerjee, Mamata Banerjee's sister-in-law and even Firhad Hakim.

A large cache of weapons, cartridges, and illegal weapon-making tools were seized in Lucknow, just a day before Muharram from the house of Hakim Salahuddin in Lucknow.
