Their story began around four years ago when Anshika met Monu at a local fair in the Bhojipura area. At that time, she was visiting her sister and had casually gone to the fair. The meeting led to regular conversations, phone calls, and a bond that slowly turned into love. With time, both decided they wanted to spend their lives together and began planning their future.
Anshika said her interest in Sanatan Dharma started long before the marriage. For nearly four years, she had been drawn to Hindu traditions and beliefs. She often visited temples and tried to understand Hindu rituals and customs. Her connection with Sanatan Dharma grew stronger after she came closer to Monu, and she felt more at peace following these traditions.
Speaking openly about why she chose to leave Islam, Anshika said she was uncomfortable with practices such as triple talaq, halala, and hijab, which she described as compulsory for Muslim women to follow. She said these practices did not align with how she wanted to live her life and that she felt restricted by them. According to her, Sanatan Dharma gave her a sense of freedom, respect, and spiritual comfort that she had been searching for.
The head priest of the ashram, Pandit KK Shankhdhar, said the purification rituals were carried out with Anshika’s full consent. He added that the marriage was performed strictly according to Sanatan Dharma traditions and without any kind of pressure. He also confirmed that all required legal steps were completed before the wedding ceremony.
The marriage has drawn attention in the area, with the couple saying they hope their decision will be respected and that they wish to live peacefully as husband and wife, following the faith and values they have chosen.
