Anti pollution protests in Delhi turned into a show of strength by Urban Naxals when protestors used chilli powder, lionised Madvi Hidma

The Wire, which conveniently omits to present the pain of the families of the security personnel killed in Naxal attacks, mentions how Hidma's mother and other people from his native village mourned his death.

Killed just days before a planned capture deadline, Madvi Hidma had long evaded agencies with his deep forest networks, multi-layer security ring and leadership of PLGA Battalion No 1, linked to India’s deadliest Naxal attacks.

Responding to OpIndia’s RTI, the MHA confirmed over Rs 630 crore released under the Special Infrastructure Scheme to Naxal-affected states, reflecting the Modi government’s focus on accountability and modernisation in its war against Left-Wing Extremism.

The RTI reply highlights a sharp fall in Naxal violence under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with BJP-led governments showing stronger centre–state coordination and higher operational success in curbing insurgency across India’s shrinking Red Corridor.

This Deepavali is particularly special because, for the first time, lamps will be lit in many districts across the country, including remote areas. These are the districts where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been eradicated from the root.
