Agniveer Amritpal Singh passed away on 10th October from a gunshot wound to the head while serving with his regiment, the 10 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, in the Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Legislator of Tumin–Lingee Assembly constituency, Sikkim, Ugyen Tshering Gyatso Bhutia, "The South Lhonak lake situated in North West Sikkim experienced an outburst in the early hours of Wednesday morning due to incessant monsoon rainfall.
