On Monday (8th September), Hindu organisations staged a protest against the stone pelting incident. The police, however, resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the protesting Hindus, including women, and even arrested some of them.
A mob smashed the Ashoka Emblem carved on the marble plaque marking the foundation stone of a new structure within Hazratbal Dargah in Srinagar, calling it anti-Islam.
The clash began in Mudaka village near Firozpur Jhirka. Village Sarpanch Ramsingh Saini said a boy named Isra (some reports say son of Isra) parked his vehicle on a road leading to the village. A local Hindu youth, Samay Singh Saini, asked him to move it but the Muslim youth refused, leading to an argument between the two.
The incident took place in Meenapur village of Rajpur under the Sahebganj police station area. A Muslim mob is reported to have pelted stones from the roofs of houses near Meenapur Mosque.

Violence broke out during a Dalit wedding procession in Saharanpur’s Amarpur Garhi village after a group from the Muslim community allegedly attacked baratis for playing DJ music near a mosque. Several were injured, and five accused have been arrested.
