The Waqf (Amendment) Act, passed by the UPA administration in 2013, handed extensive power to the Waqf Board. 

"I want to assure the Muslim community that there is no threat through the Waqf Amendment Bill--neither to masjids, dargahs, Eidgahs, nor cemeteries. The real threat is to the waqf land mafia, who have looted properties worth crores and acted against the true purpose of waqf," Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi stated.

The Bill regulates the entry, immigration, stay, and exit of foreigners in India. It has streamlined the visa system and has simplified the application process for tourists, students and skilled professionals.
