With the assembly elections in Kerala just six months away, BJP’s win is a boost for the party, as it has struggled to find footings in the state. BJP has so far won only one MLA seat in Kerala, when O Rajagopal won the Nemom seat in 2016.
Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrashekhar said the Sabarimala gold controversy is far more serious than earlier known, claiming idol removal and damage to sacred steps. He demanded a CBI probe, while the state government said action will be taken against the guilty.
"The UDF and LDF have once again exposed their shameless politics of appeasement by opposing the Waqf Amendment Bill. Nothing but a blatant betrayal of the people of Kerala, especially the residents of Munambam who were facing eviction from their own land!" said Chandrasekhar in a post on X.
The Rouse Avenue court has taken cognisance of Defamation complaint filed against Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. This complaint has been filed by BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
According to the Police, the case has been filed against Shashi Tharoor based on a complaint lodged by BJP leader J R Padmakumar. The BJP leader accused Tharoor of carrying out a false campaign against Rajeev Chandrasekhar during a television program.
