Congress leader spreads fake stories implying Dera chief used Adani chopper after conviction in rape case

A Congress leader called Salman Nizami on Saturday tweeted photographs of AgustaWestland choppers AW139 series, one which had Prime Minister Narendra Modi getting off and other had the Dera Sauda Sacha chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who was yesterday pronounced guilty in a 2002 rape case, sitting inside.

Nizami claimed that Dera chief used Adani’s chopper to be airlifted from Panchkula to Rohtak.

The Congress leader provided no details about his source of information, which most probably was a WhatsApp forward meant for political propaganda.

He was immediately called out for spreading misinformation.

Other users also tried correcting him for the misinformation.

While others even ridiculed him for the same.

While others reminded them of the AgustaWestland scam Congress leaders are accused of being involved in.

And then someone even compared him to Dera chief’s fans who ran a rampage in Haryana and Punjab yesterday after the verdict.

And then, Twitter doesn’t forget. Nizami also got a lesson in history.

Guess it is a good idea to have a quick fact check before posting things on Twitter.
