4-year-old girl allegedly raped by Christian priest in Jharkhand’s Gumla

The child is admitted to hospital. Villagers have claimed that the accused was involved in religious conversions too.

As per media reports, a 4 years old girl was allegedly raped by a man who is believed to be a Christian pastor in Jharkhand’s Gumla.

“The man was arrested as soon as the complaint was received. We’re being told that he’s a Pastor. We’re investigating this thoroughly”, Gumla SP Anshuman Kumar said. Some reports mention the girl’s age as 5 years.

The accused, Charku Uraon, is a father of five children himself, reports claim. On Thursday, the little girl was playing alone near the alleged pastor’s home. The accused managed to cajole her into entering his home where he raped her and warned her not to tell anyone of the matter. The girl went home crying and told her grandmother who, in turn, told the girl’s parents. The girl is currently admitted to a hospital.
