Proposal of joining Congress will be a matter of respect for me: AAP MLA Alka Lamba hints at going back to Congress

Earlier Alka Lamba was removed from AAP's official WhatsApp group and Kejriwal had unfollowed her on Twitter

AAP MLA Alka Lamba has hinted at the possibility of joining Congress if a proposal comes from the party. Lamba who was earlier in Congress, said that she had given 20 years to the party and Congress only would decide on the matter.

In a tweet posted by Lamba, she said that five years ago she had ended her 20-year-old relation with Congress to defeat BJP and had joined Aam Admi Party. And BJP was defeated.

She added that there is nothing wrong in ending a 5-year-old relation in order to defeat BJP again. Lamba was, in all probability, hinted that she was ready to end her 5-year-old relation with the Aam Admi Party expressing her desire to join the Grand Old Party. Lamba had tweeted a couple of days ago that she was approached by the BJP to join the party.

She later tweeted that she might not be seen supporting any particular leader or party in the upcoming general elections but will stand by a decision which is in the interest of the country regardless of which party or leader has taken the decision.

Alka Lamba’s relation with her party has been stormy in recent weeks. She was even asked to resign from the assembly by Arvind Kejriwal in December last year over a resolution on Rajiv Gandhi’s Bharat Ratna. Although that episode was resolved and she didn’t resign, she became an outsider for the inner circle of the party. She was removed from the party’s WhatsApp group, and Kejriwal had unfollowed her on Twitter, clearly indicating that she is no longer wanted in the party.

The origins of the separate electorate can be traced back to British India, when the foreign regime acquiesced to the demands presented by the Islamists to facilitate their communal agenda. The British Parliament's Indian Councils Act 1909, also referred to as the Morley-Minto Reforms, proposed the creation of distinct electorates for Muslims.
