On Saturday, ex-AAP MLA and BJP politician, Kapil Mishra hit out at AAP convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, on Twitter for “forcing teachers” to attend his swearing-in-ceremony at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday.
His tweet read, “It is a great thing that teachers are coming to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Government. But, coercing teachers to attend the event through a government order and keeping the track of their attendance at Ramlila Maidan sets a wrong precedent. The auspicious occasion must not be eclipsed by such unnecessary things.”

Mishra’s tweet comes at the backdrop of a circular issued by Delhi’s Directorate of Education to teachers and principals on Friday to attend the swearing-in-ceremony of Arvind Kejriwal.

In a press conference on Saturday, Manish Sisodia, AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, said that those teachers, students, Mohalla clinic doctors, etc. who benefited from the AAP’s schemes were invited to the oath-taking ceremony. He defended the decision by attributing the AAP’s victory in the recent polls, to the people of Delhi.

Kapil Mishra has been at loggerheads with Arvind Kejriwal ever since he left the Aam Aadmi Party. Last year, Mishra took the Delhi CM off guard by asking, “If Mohalla clinics are that great, why do Kejriwal and his ministers spend lakhs in private hospitals?” The ex-AAP MLA was also issued a notice by the Election Commission ahead of Delhi polls for comparing the elections as a contest between India and Pakistan.
