US secretly ‘interfering’ in Indian politics, planning to use Andhra Baptist Chuch to coerce Chandrababu Naidu into leaving NDA: Reports

"The Andhra Baptist Church is the biggest tool in the CIA's pocket right now to be used against CBN," reported Sputnik India, citing sources.

The US government is secretly interfering in India’s domestic politics through its diplomats and affiliate groups, sparking concerns from the Modi government.

According to a report by Sputnik India published on Wednesday (14th August), the Indian intelligence authorities have flagged meetings between Jennifer Larson and Indian Opposition leaders

Larson is the US Consul General who is in charge of the American mission in Hyderabad. She recently courted controversy by meeting All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

The US diplomat also met N Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Revanth Reddy, the CM of Telangana.

It must be pointed out that Nadiu is the Chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and is an ally of the ruling BJP govt at the centre. TDP’s minority cell has opposed amendments proposed by the government to the Waqf Act.

In its report, Sputnik India noted, “More significantly, intelligence sources expressed concerns over the internal political discussions figuring in conversations with American diplomats. Sources didn’t rule out the possibility of a “no-confidence motion” against the government over differences on Waqf law.

Citing sources, the media news agency stated that the American Baptist Church, which provides financial support to the Andra Baptist Church, could coerce Chandrababu Naidu into switching sides.

“The Andhra Baptist Church is the biggest tool in the CIA’s pocket right now to be used against CBN,” it claimed. Reportedly, meetings with American diplomats and the Opposition leaders have become a routine affair in the Andra-Telangana region.

Apprehensions about US-led ‘regime change operation’ in India have been rife ever since Sheikh Hasina was ousted as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The recent revelations by Sputnik India have added to the fears of possible political instability in India in near future.
