Ludhiana: Three persons booked for forcefully performing circumcision on a 10-year-old in an attempt to convert to Islam

A gruesome incident of forced circumcision on a 10-year-old boy has come to light in Ludhiana. According to reports, three Muslim men allegedly performed circumcision on the boy in an attempt to convert him to Islam.

The police in Machhiwara area have lodged an FIR after the victim’s complaint. The boy has reportedly told the police that he hails from Ghaziabad and was abandoned by his father after his mother died eight months ago. The boy was left in a train and had reached Ludhiana seven months back. He had worked as a domestic help but was hired by the main accused named Mobin Khan to work in a juice vending stall Khan owned.

The boy has stated that he was employed with the promised salary of Rs 1000 per month but Mobin had started beating him every day and was forcing him to convert to Islam. He has reportedly stated that on Friday, Mobin and two of his accomplices had grabbed him and performed circumcision on him following which he had started bleeding profusely.

The boy reportedly managed to run away and reached a nearby market area where members of a local tempo union rushed him to hospital. The police were also alerted by the union members.

The SHO of Machhiwara station has reportedly informed the media that the condition of the boy is now stable. The police have filed an FIR against Mobin Khan and his two friends under section 295( hurting religious sentiments), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by a weapon) and section 34 of the IPC. The accused are yet to be arrested.
