‘Bigot no 1’, Actor Farhan Akhtar labels a concerned citizen of India for asking him to reach out to people to contain violence

With Muslim mobs taking to violence to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, a concerned citizen asked Bollywood entertainer Farhan Akhtar, his father Javed Akhtar and his step-mother Shabana Azmi to reach out to the Muslim community and ask them not to destroy our country’s property.

The citizen also advised these ‘celebrities’ not to cry when these rioters are arrested and beaten black and blue. There are several instances in the past when the Islamists and their supporters have shed tears for the cause of terror sympathisers, Naxalites and anti-social elements.

However, Farhan Akhtar, just like his father Javed Akhtar, indulged in arrogance and replied in a condescending manner. Taking a jibe at Gitika, Farhan Akhtar said he will requesting an individual named David Dhawan to cast her in a movie named ‘Bigot no 1’ as Farhan thought the citizen was perfect for the part.

When a situation arises, it is very normal for celebrities and people in influential position to use their clout to appeal to people for peace. However, Akhtar, instead of appealing for peace, used this opportunity to try and bully an individual.

Akhtar was called out by Twitterati for whitewashing and downplaying the violence by Muslim mobs especially in Bengal.

People pointed out the irony that instead of condemning the ghastly violence, Akhtar chose to condemn a Twitter user who asked him to appeal to the people of his community in good faith.

The rampage of the Muslim mob continues in West Bengal under the watch of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as Islamists have now vandalised more than five railway stations and set fire to a toll plaza in Murshidabad district on Saturday during their protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Last week, the Muslim mobs had vandalised the complex and some trains by resorting to stone pelting, injuring a driver, officials said. The violence affected train services in Sealdah division of the Eastern Railway.

Protests against the CAB were planned soon after Friday prayers across mosques in the State and other various parts of the country which has resulted in extreme violence in parts of West Bengal.

Unsurprisingly, following the violence, the ‘liberal-secular’ industry which often gives moral science lectures on constitutionalism, democracy, rule of law seems has also joined the bandwagon to ignore the riots that are being unleashed by Muslim mobs in the state. It is not shocking anymore to see that the media often referred to as the fourth pillar of the democracy has turned a blind eye to the barbarity that is being unleashed by Islamist forces in West Bengal.

Muslim mobs across the country are continuing their rampage as a form of protests over Citizenship Amendment Act. Unsurprisingly, the members of the ‘liberal-secular’ industry have deliberately chosen to ignore the crimes committed by the Muslim community, exposing their hypocrisy regarding commitment towards the rule of law.

Bollywood entertainer Farhan Akhtar not only turned a blind eye to the riots unleashed by the Muslim mob across the country but also labelled a concerned citizen a ‘bigot’ for requesting him to reach out to Muslim community to stop rioting and indulging in violence during the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

West Bengal lawyer who shared his harrowing experience on Muslim mob violence now blames the BJP IT cell for being ‘divisive force’

0

In a bizarre turn of events, a West Bengal based lawyer, Sankhadeep Shome, who took to Facebook on Friday to talk about the harrowing experience where a Muslim mob of 500-700 people emerged after the ‘Jummah Namaaz’ and blocked a railway line at Uluberia station, has now blamed the BJP IT cell for indulging in ‘evil and divisive forces’.

Taking to Facebook, Shome accused the BJP of using his experience where Muslim mob ran amok terrorising people while protesting against the CAB, for ‘vicious poll plank’.

He accused the BJP of trying to project him as “former sickular libtard who’s now had a Ghar Wapsi after witnessing first hand how barbarous the lot of ‘illegal’ Muslims are.”

According to his own post about the rioting Muslim mob, “A massive crowd of rioters then descended on the station, young lads barely on the verge of their 20s and some as young as 7 and 8 dressed in kurta pyjamas and skullcaps armed with rods and stones. First, they shattered all the window panes of an empty rake of Humsafar Express. Then they got to our train and started to pelt it with stones. The elderly were traumatized, the children crying. A stone shattered the glass window of the adjacent coupe. My heart pounded as I heard them screaming. I saw them laughing sadistically as they poked the rods through the broken window panes to terrify the passengers. I ducked and stayed dead still. One stray stone, one swing of the rod is all it would take. The district police were nowhere to be seen.”

Muslim mob comprising of young kids, some even as young as 7 and 8 years (as he himself said), pelted stones and laughed sadistically as they poked rods through broken window panes to terrify passengers. The district police was nowhere to be seen, as per his own account.

However, for reasons perhaps best known to him, the BJP IT cell is to be blamed for his blood-curling, near-death experience on hands of a Muslim mob.

Fresh records show the four suspects killed in Telangana encounter may be minors, Police in a huddle after SC orders inquiry

Following the direction of the Supreme Court to constitute a three-member inquiry panel led by a retired top court judge, Justice VS Sirpurkar to inquire into the Hyderabad encounters in which four accused was shot dead, the Telangana police are now anxious as reports of irregularities in the investigation have emerged.

According to the Sunday Guardian report, the apex court’s inquiry has shocked the top brass of the Telangana police as there are now reports that four accused who were shot dead may have been minors and secondly there is no concrete evidence for their involvement in the crime.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde had ordered for an independent inquiry to unearth all facts surrounding the encounter killing of the four youths, who were accused of raping and murdering the victim on 27 November.

On December 6, the four youths were killed by the police of Cyberabad in an encounter when the four accused had tried to attack the police officials and flee from the police custody on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

A series of writ petitions has been filed in the Supreme Court alleging that the encounter was fake. These petitions filed by different groups had alleged that the police had tried to hide facts rather than bringing the guilty to justice.

Senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi, who appeared for the Telangana government, had resisted a suggestion from the Supreme Court for a probe as already the High Court, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and an SIT were on the same job.

The Telangana government has already constituted an SIT led by senior IPS officer and Rachakonda police commissioner, Mahesh Bhagawat, to investigate the sequence of events right from the gang rape, murder by burning the victim alive to the encounter killing of the accused.

Meanwhile, the NHRC has also sent its own team to Hyderabad on the same day of the encounter. The Human rights panel team returned to Delhi on Thursday and submitted its finding to the Supreme Court. The High Court had stayed the cremation of the bodies of the accused, till Telangana police had submitted a report on the encounter. The Supreme Court’s panel will also submit its report within six months.

Reportedly, the Cyberabad police are finding tough to answers to questions raised by these three independent investigations. With Supreme Court’s ordering to set up another panel, the Cyberabad police will be under pressure to prove their case.

The Supreme Court order has pushed the gang rape and murder of the victim to the background while focusing on the encounter of the accused, said Sunday Guardian while quoting a source.

Reportedly, the Cyberabad police have enough evidence to prove the circumstances that led to the killing of the four accused at the spot. However, reports suggest that four accused were minors at the time of the incident and there is no substantial evidence to establish their crime.

Cyberabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar, who appeared before the Supreme Court this week, faced the judges who were not satisfied with the ongoing probe at the state level. The top court has now stayed all the three probes—NHRC, HC and the SIT. There is uncertainty over powers of the Supreme Court initiated probe panel.

On Thursday, the Telangana High Court also directed the state government to seek clarification from the Supreme Court on the cremation of the dead bodies of the accused that are lying in the mortuary of Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for the last one week. Already, two post-mortems were conducted on these bodies and there is a chance of one more being carried out by the Supreme Court panel.

The worry for the Cyberabad police is the presence of former Bombay High Court judge, Rekha Baltoda and former CBI chief DR Karthikeyen on the panel as cops feel that the experts may go into minute details of the encounter. Some rights activists had demanded that the case be referred to the CBI.

A major concern of the Telangana police is that the Aadhaar cards of the four accused—Mohammad Arif, Shiva, Chennakesavulu, Srinu and Naveen states that they were all minors, below the age of 18 years. However, the FIR filed by the Cyberabad police at the Shadnagar police station mentioned their ages between 21 and 26. The policemen do not have any recorded evidence to prove their point as per the report.

If the youths turned out to be minors, then the police will be facing a lot of heat from the Supreme Court panel regarding the loopholes in the investigation procedure. The Cyberabad police have built their entire case based on the confessional statements of the accused and there is not enough independent evidence to prove their culpability.

“Rahul Jinnah” would be more appropriate name: BJP on Congress’ Wayanad MP’s Savarkar jibe

Congress MP from Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi’s Savarkar jibe hasn’t gone down too well with the opposition, the BJP as well as the ally, Shiv Sena. The Bharatiya Janata Party has responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s refusal to apologise for his “rape in India” remark, and accused Gandhi-scion of practising “Muslim appeasement politics”, and said that he was a more suitable heir of Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

“The more appropriate name for you Rahul Gandhi is Rahul Jinnah,” said BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao. He added, “Your Muslim appeasement politics and mindset makes you a worthy legatee of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, not Savarkar,” he said. Gandhi, while addressing  a rally in Delhi on Saturday had said that he is Rahul Gandhi, not Rahul Savarkar and hence will not apologise.

Savarkar jibe has also not gone down too well with the newly minted Congress ally Shiv Sena. As reported by Aaj Tak, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has suggested that Congress leaders pass on some books and literature on Savarkar to Rahul Gandhi so that he can educate himself about the same. He said that Maharashtra Congress leaders should go to Delhi and give Rahul Gandhi a few books on Savarkar and also inform him on how Savarkar fought against the British for India’s independence.

Furious at Rahul Gandhi over his outrageous remark, Ranjit Savarkar, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s grandson, tore into the senior Congress leader saying that he should be beaten in public by the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray for his offensive comment.

On Saturday, while addressing the Bharat Bachao rally, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi went on to attack the BJP for demanding an apology for his “rape in India” remark and said, “My name is Rahul Gandhi, not Rahul Savarkar. I will never apologise for speaking truth.”

He said, “I will die, but I will not apologise for speaking the truth. It is Narendra Modi and Amit Shah who have to apologise to the country for destroying India’s economy.” The Congress leader also alleged that the BJP and Prime Minister Modi have set the entire northeast region on fire.

International shooter Vartika Singh writes letter in blood to HM Amit Shah requesting to carry out execution of Nirbhaya’s rapists

International shooter Vartika Singh has written a letter in her own blood to Home Minister Amit Shah requesting him to appoint her to carry out execution of Nirbhaya’s rapists who are sentenced to death for the gruesome rape of Nirbhaya (name changed) on 16th December, 2012.

In her letter, she writes that the hanging of all four of the convicts should be done by her as that will send a message cross the country that a woman can also conduct execution.

Six men, including a juvenile, were convicted of raping 23-year-old Nirbhaya seven years back. While the juvenile, also believed to be the most brutal, was let go after he serving time in juvenile home, one of the convicts had committed suicide while in prison. The remaining four are to be executed shortly. Preparations are on in Tihar jail for their execution.

After it was known that the Tihar jail does not have a hangman to carry out the execution of the four convicted rapists, many people have come forward and shown willingness to carry out the task. One Ravi Kumar from Himachal Pradesh had written to President Kovind to appoint him to hang the four convicts.

“Beat Rahul Gandhi in public”: Savarkar’s grandson tears into Congress MP for his Savarkar remark

He also said that he is thankful that Rahul’s last name is not Savarkar.

He said, “It is good that Rahul Gandhi is not Rahul Savarkar or else we will have to hide our faces. Now, I want that Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray should beat him openly as he said many times that if anyone insults Veer Savarkar, he will beat him publicly. I expect the Shiv Sena would not change its stand on Veer Savarkar (that he should get Bharat Ratna).”

Defiant to apologise for his sexist and insensitive ‘Rape in India’ comment, mocking the violent crimes against women by twisting the ‘make in India’ slogan originally intended to promote growth and economic development in the country, the Gandhi-scion Rahul Gandhi today during the ‘Bharat Bachao’ rally in Delhi said, “My name is not Rahul Savarkar, won’t apologise for the truth”, alluding to Savarkar’s alleged apology to the British seeking an early release from Andaman jail.

As if the ridiculous ‘Rape in India’ comment was not disgraceful enough that the senior Congress leader went on to invoke Savarkar, opening up a whole new can of worms for himself.

Ranjit Savarkar further added, “Rahul Gandhi should be grateful to his grandmother Indira Gandhi that she dropped her surname (Nehru) or else people would have called them British servants. Jawaharlal Nehru was a British loyalist as in 1946 he accepted to work in the Vice Royal Council as a minister. He expressed loyalty to the then monarch of England, King George VI and took an oath to be loyal to the British.”

Moreover, union minister Giriraj Singh also took to Twitter to attack Rahul Gandhi saying Vir Savarkar was a real patriot. “No one becomes Gandhi and a patriot by merely adopting a surname. One needs Indian blood to become a real patriot. Many people have looted the country in disguise. It is unacceptable,” he tweeted

The war of words over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks further intensified with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut issuing a veiled threat to its Maharashtra ally to not ‘insult’ the Hindutva icon.

In a series of tweets in Marathi, Raut said that there will be “no compromises on Savarkar”.

“Veer Savarkar is the god of not only Maharashtra but also the country. The name Savarkar is the pride of nation. Like Nehru and Gandhi, Savarkar sacrificed his life for independence. Every such god should be honoured. There are no compromises. Jai Hind”

“We believe in Pandit Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi. Do not insult Veer Savarkar,” Raut added without naming the Congress.

Rahul Gandhi’s rape comment:

On Thursday, the Wayanad MP, taking a dig at BJP’s ‘Make in India’ scheme declared that instead now the country has become ‘Rape in India’ while addressing a poll-rally in Jharkhand.

“Wherever you see in the nation, Narendra Modi had said Make in India. But now wherever you see, ‘Make in India’ is not happening, it is ‘rape in India’,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi’s ridiculous comment had triggered an uproar in the Parliament. Several MPs including women members across the party lines condemned the statements made by former Congress President and demanded an apology.

While Union Minister Smriti Irani tore into Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his remark, the BJP veteran leader and India’s defence minister Rajnath Singh said people like Rahul Gandhi should not be elected to the House.

JNU protests: VC M Jagadesh Kumar escapes attack mounted by 10-15 ‘students’ who pulled and gheraod him on campus

The students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Thursday allegedly mounted an assault against the vice-chancellor (VC), M Jagadesh Kumar, in the university campus. According to the vice-chancellor, 10-15 protesting students surrounded him but the on-duty security personnel rescued him from an imminent attack.

Speaking to the media, Kumar revealed that he was attacked by the JNu students. “I was attacked today. I had gone today to visit the School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU. There were around 10-15 students who surrounded me. They were trying to pull me down and in a mood to attack me. Fortunately, I was rescued by the security and managed to escape,” he said.

Besides, M Jagadesh Kumar’s car was allegedly vandalised by the students inside the university premises.

The vice-chancellor came to his office for the first time since the protesting students took hold of the administrative block, had a meeting with the presidents of 18 hostels, but the meeting remained inconclusive.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the police to provide adequate security when the vice-chancellor, registrar and other officials come to the administrative block on Thursday. However, despite the security, JNU hoodlums managed to reach dangerously close to the vice-chancellor and were on the verge of attacking him.

It is noteworthy to mention that JNU students have been protesting for more than a month now on the issue of the new hostel manual which advocated a hike in hostel fees, dress code regulations, and curfew timings. The JNUSU also called for a protest-march from college to Parliament to demand the rollback of the increased fees, along with multiple other restrictions imposed which witnessed unprecedented violence and incidents of vandalism. The protesting students also vandalised a soon-to-be inaugurated Swami Vivekananda’s bust in opposition to the new fee hike and other restrictions.

Taking cognisance of the extended protests, the Ministry of Human Resource Development decided to constitute a panel to placate the angry students and take measures to end the protests.

The JNU administration explained its rationale behind the fee hike saying that the university is facing a deficit of Rs 45 crore and fee hike is necessary because of the huge electricity, water charges and the salary of contractual staff. However, the freeloaders of the JNU did not budge on their decision to continue protests.

In yet another shocking incident of brutality against minors, the Madhya Pradesh police have arrested a man named Ramesh Deora from Neemuch for sexually assaulting his daughter for over more than 2 years. An SIT has been instituted and the investigations in the case is underway.

The medical examination of the girl confirmed that she was indeed subjected to sexual assault. According to CSP Rakesh Mohan Shukla, the child helpline was informed that the resident of the scheme number 34 of the city routinely assaulted his daughter in a drunken state.

Childline counsellor talked to the girl who confirmed the assault committed by her father. The mother of the daughter had left them about 3 years back. Since then, the girl’s father, who worked as a labourer, sexually assaulted her routinely under the influence of alcohol.

About three years back, the wife of the accused absconded leaving her husband and their 4 children. One of the girls lived with her uncle while the other three kept living with their father Ramesh Deora. The 8-year-old victim had two younger siblings- brothers aged 6 and 3 years. According to the report, after the brothers fell asleep in the night, the father used to rape his 8-year-old daughter.

Fearing sexual abuse, on many occasions, the girl avoided being at her home and instead kept wandering on the streets for a day or two. However, when police interrogated the victim about the assault, she openly narrated her ordeal. An FIR has been registered against the accused under Section 376 of the IPC and the relevant sections of the POCSO Act.

The incidents of sexual assaults and murders, especially against the minors are steadily increasing. Recently, a similar incident of rape and murder was reported from the Pune city of Maharashtra. A 15-year-old teenage girl was allegedly raped and strangled to death in the Bhosari area of Pune by her step-father.

I don’t want to die, please save me: Man rapes an 18-year-old girl and sets her on fire when she threatened to lodge complain in UP

Days after the horrific tragedy of the Unnao rape victim, who was set ablaze by her alleged perpetrators while she was travelling to the court, another incident involving the rape victim being burnt alive has come to the fore. The incident pertains to Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh where an 18-year-old was raped and subsequently set on fire by her assaulter.

When OpIndia contacted the Hosainganj Police Station, the police confirmed that the accused named as Mevalal has been arrested under the charges of Section 376(rape) and 307(attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The police mentioned that the victim’s brother has filed a complaint against the accused and a probe has been ordered in the case.

On Friday night, a man living in the neighbourhood in the Husainganj area of Fatehpur raped the teenager. However, on Saturday morning, when the victim’s family was about to take her to file a complaint against the perpetrator, the assaulter poured Kerosene on the victim and set her ablaze. The victim sustained 90 per cent burns and was admitted to the district hospital. She was later transferred to the Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in Kanpur and is currently in critical condition.

According to the victim, when she threatened the rapist of informing her family of the incident, the accused dragged her inside the room and set her on fire. Hearing the screams of the girl, the neighbours rushed to help the girl and douse the fire. She was rushed to the district hospital. Looking at the girl’s critical condition, doctors referred her to be transferred to the Kanpur hospital. According to the doctors at the district hospital, the girl had sustained 90 per cent burn injuries and only her lower legs remained unscathed.

The victim continued screaming in pain as reached the district hospital. When the district magistrate reached the hospital to record her statement, the victim continued saying, “Sir, I don’t want to die, please save me”.
