‘Will bring back Kohinoor’: Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham says during his Ram Katha in London

Popular Hindu spiritual leader and Mahant of Bageshwar Dham, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is currently in London for his Ram Katha event. The event is being attended by hundreds of devotees along with some British officials. On Thursday, July 27, a British person named Simon also visited Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri to seek his blessings. During the event, Pandit Dheerendra Krishna Shastri talked about the historic Kohinoor diamond.

On July 25, a video was posted from the official Twitter handle of Bageshwar Dham in which a British person named Simon was seen donning a Ram Naami scarf during the said event. In the British official’s presence, Dhirendra Shastri said in response to a question that “There was a time when the British used to speak and our ancestors listened but today they listen to our Ram Katha in London.

Notably, the Koh-i-noor (mountain of light) diamond has been a source of conflict between India and England for many years, with demands arising in India for its repatriation. Bageshwar Baba’s unguarded comments regarding the precious diamond re-sparked debate over its legitimate provenance and repatriation to India.

As seen in the 4:13 minute-long video, Shastri while addressing a huge gathering in a hall said that the Koh-i-noor will be brought back. “By the way, I cannot say give back the Kohinoor,” he added. I have to come here much more frequently now. People will say that he spreads chaos. already infamous as whatever is in my heart, I express it clearly,” Shastri said.

During the event, Bageshwar Baba Pandit Dhirendra Shastri from the stage wished for the liberation of England and blessed the King of Britain from the Vyas Peeth. He also prayed for England’s economic growth.

Koh-i-noor

The controversial diamond, which is now part of Crown Jewels, was originally unearthed in Southern India. Reportedly, the East India Company seized Koh-i-Noor from Maharaja Duleep Singh in 1849 and handed it over to Queen Victoria. The diamond was then recut in 1852 by the royal jeweller, Garrad of London, to improve its brilliance.

Bageshwar Dham and Mahant Dhirendra Krishna Shastri

The Bageshwar Dham Temple is situated in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The temple is devoted to Lord Hanuman. 26-year-old Dhirendra Krishna Shastri originally was Dhirendra Krishna Garg. Shastri is the Mahant (head priest) of the temple and is popularly called ‘Bageshwar Dham Sarkar’. According to the information available on the website of Bageshwar Dham, Shastri is the successor of his grandfather Dada Guruji Maharaj who was a ‘Siddh’ saint.

Twitter blocked in Indonesia as Elon Musk’s ‘X’ rebrand raises concerns over adult content

In a surprising turn of events, Elon Musk’s decision to rebrand Twitter as ‘X’ has resulted in the social media platform being blocked in Indonesia. The strict laws in the Southeast Asian nation pertaining to adult content and gambling are at the core of this development.

The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics raised concerns about the domain X.com, chosen by Musk for Twitter’s rebranding, as it could potentially violate the nation’s regulations against negative content, including adult material. The domain had a history of association with websites that had previously violated these laws, prompting the Indonesian authorities to take precautionary action.

Usman Kansong, the ministry’s director general of information and public communication, revealed that the Indonesian government sought clarification from Musk’s company regarding the nature of the rebranded site. Twitter representatives assured the Indonesian authorities that X.com would be exclusively used for Twitter.

The block on X.com caused significant disruption to approximately 24 million Twitter users in Indonesia. Aribowo Sasmito, a co-founder of the fact-checking group MAFINDO, suggested that the block might have been influenced by the potentially negative associations with the domain name, which is somewhat close to “XXX,” raising concerns about adult content.

The situation presents a dilemma for internet users in Indonesia, who find themselves torn between the desire for internet freedom and the need to comply with the country’s regulations, which are influenced, in part, by the dominant religious beliefs in the Muslim-majority nation.

This is not the first time that popular websites have faced scrutiny in Indonesia. Platforms like Netflix, Facebook, Google, Instagram, and Twitter had previously faced the possibility of being blocked if they failed to provide detailed content descriptions to the ministry within a specific deadline.

Twitter’s issue in Indonesia is the latest challenge in a series that Elon Musk has encountered since announcing the ambitious rebranding, with some critics questioning the rationale behind abandoning a globally recognized brand in favour of ‘X,’ Musk’s favourite character.

The X.com URL

Elon Musk had originally bought the X.com URL in 1999, when he used it to host an online banking platform. The earliest Internet Archive of the site is from December 1996, which shows that it was under construction at that time and had no content. Later archives before 1999 show that it was used as a personal page by its three creators. Archives from 2000 onwards show its use as an online banking platform that was named X.com and offered a free service named PayPal.

In 2000, the company was merged with a company named Confinity and it was called X.com. But in the next year, the merged entity was renamed PayPal and it became the wonder of the X.com website. However, the URL was not used as the company started to use the PayPal.com URL.

In 2017, Elon Musk bought back the X.com domain from PayPal, raising speculations about his use of it. And after acquiring Twitter, he used it to rebrand the social media platform.

At present, visiting X.com redirects to the existing Twitter.com website.

Nitesh Tiwari demeans the memory of 6 million murdered Jews: Jewish rights organisation demands removal of movie Bawaal from Amazon Prime

The Bollywood movie Bawaal, which uses the Holocaust as a plot reference and already attracted lots of criticism from Indian viewers, has now earned international criticism. A Jewish organisation has written an open letter to Prime Video to take down the movie from the OTT platform, and not make money from the movie which trivialises the ‘suffering and systematic murder of millions of victims of the Nazi Holocaust’.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC), a human rights NGO dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Nazi Holocaust, has requested Amazon Prime Video to remove the movie Bawaal for using the Holocaust as a plot device.

The Nitesh Kumar venture has been the subject of controversies ever since it was released. Heavy criticism was levelled at the film for trivialising Jewish oppression during the Nazi regime under Hitler. The storyline has provoked international outcry for its callous portrayal of Nazi Germany’s brutality towards Jews and for utilising their persecution as a mere plot device to motivate character development.

Varun Dhawan starred as Ajay and Janhvi Kapoor played Nisha in the movie which is being slammed for the way it has devalued the tragedy in the narrative. The main characters visited Auschwitz’s gas chamber while travelling to World War II locations. They are depicted in a gas chamber during a dream sequence that included scenes of them having trouble breathing.

When discussing human avarice, Nisha implored, “We’re all a little like Hitler, aren’t we?” The character also remarked, “Every relationship goes through their Auschwitz,” in another moment, indicating that every relationship has its challenges. The trivialisation of such a critical historical occurrence has not gone down well with many who have objected to the same.

A statement issued by SWC said, “Directed by well-known Indian filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, the film’s storyline which is set in contemporary times, leads to scenes in which the protagonists enter a gas chamber in Auschwitz and are suffocated while wearing striped clothing. Hitler is used as a metaphor in the movie for human greed, with the main protagonist, saying to his wife, ‘We’re all a little like Hitler, aren’t we?’”

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of Simon Wiesenthal Centre and Director of Global Social Action, demanded that Amazon “stop monetising” Bawaal right away and has referred to the movie as a “banal trivialization of the suffering and systematic murder of millions of victims of the Nazi Holocaust.”

SWC stands up for the security of Jews everywhere and denounces anti-Semitism and hatred. Additionally, the group aims to preserve the memory of those who died during the Holocaust.

He stated, “Auschwitz is not a metaphor. It is the quintessential example of Man’s capacity for Evil. By having the protagonist in this movie declare that ‘every relationship goes through their Auschwitz,’ Nitesh Tiwari trivializes and demeans the memory of six million murdered Jews and millions of others who suffered at the hands of Hitler’s genocidal regime.”

He further added, “If the filmmaker’s goal was to gain PR for their movie by reportedly filming a fantasy sequence at the Nazi death camp, he has succeeded. Amazon Prime should stop monetizing Bawaal by immediately removing this banal trivialization of the suffering and systematic murder of millions of victims of the Nazi Holocaust.”

The Bawaal

The movie features Varun Dhawan as a teacher Ajay who is married to Nisha played by Janhvi Kapoor, an epilepsy patient so he does not like her. Ajay is suspended from the job for slapping the son of a politician. To save the job, he devices the most bizarre plan, visit Word War II places of interest in Europe and live stream history classes from there. Because, “his students will never understand this chapter of history unless he lives and feels it.”

Financed by his father, he reluctantly takes his wife on the European tour to visit places like Paris, Normandy, Amsterdam, Berlin, Auschwitz etc. As they travel various historical cites including Nazi concentration camps and gas chambers, their falling mariage starts to heal as Ajay finds that Nisha knows better about the places.

However, problems start to emerge when the main characters start to use the Holocaust events to relate to their own lives and comparing them. Like, when Ajay has to pack his bag quickly, he compares it with how Jews were ordered to take everything they could when Nazis arrived and sent them to ghetos and then to concentration camps. Or how Ajay starts feeling for Nisha after imagining them trappped in a gas chamber along with Jewish prisoners.

According to film critic Rahul Desai, it looks worse than it sounds.

Social media reaction to the tone-deaf treatment of World War II

Social media users weren’t far behind to criticise the film either. An individual expressed his astonishment at the movie’s dialogue, which says “‘”every relationship goes through their Auschwitz”.

One referred to it as the “Most Insensitive Bollywood Film Award” and called it a mediocre and lacklustre love story.

A netizen posted, “Comparison with Hitler without knowing about Hitler.” He asserted that the makers have forgotten that he is “the murderer of millions of people.”

Another wrote, “Comparing tribulations and problems in a marriage to Auschwitz mass genocide is the lowest a Bollywood movie has ever stooped to,” and alleged that any Hollywood movie would have been cancelled if it had attempted the same.

“How can you compare your turbulent relationship with Auschwitz,” questioned Hunoon.

Bawaal team defended the film

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, director Nitesh Tiwari defended his film and commented, “I am a bit disappointed with the way some people have comprehended it. That was never the intention. It would never be my intention to be insensitive in any which way.”

He voiced, “Don’t we see Ajju and Nisha getting completely troubled and moved by what they see in Auschwitz? They do. They see the prisoners, they see how they were stacked, they see how they were exterminated. Are they being insensitive about it? No. They are moved to tears.”

The director defended, “You can question the creative process, you can question the creatives, but please do not question the intent. The moment you start questioning the intent, it becomes hurtful. You run down the entire movie by eliminating one or two peculiar instances.” He insisted, “There are so many good messages which are there in the movie.”

Varun Dhawan voiced, “Some people got triggered or sensitive about this. But I don’t understand where does that sensitivity or trigger go when they watch, suppose an English film, I’m saying for example. They’re allowed to do everything there, they’re allowed to take leaps and they’re allowed to show things in a certain way, but you’ll find that correct.”

“I know people have got very triggered after watching a small scene in a brilliant film, recently released. It’s a scene that’s important to our culture and our country. But that’s okay for you. You don’t feel they should be more sensitive to you? So where does your criticism go then,” he asked.

Janhvi Kapoor supported the movie as well and stated that when she discussed it with an Ivy League professor whose relatives perished in the Holocaust, he wasn’t outraged but rather very moved by it. “He understood everything that we set out to do with the film, and never once in the conversation did he ever allude to being offended by anything.”

Srinagar: Shia community takes out Muharram processions on the traditional route after 34 years

After more than three decades of being prohibited, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday decided to permit the 8th Muharram to proceed through the centre of Srinagar on Thursday, July 27. However, the administration designated a fixed time for the procession.

“The permission is hereby granted…for taking out Muharram procession on 8th Muharram-1445 from Guru Bazar to Dalgate via Budshah Kadal and M.A Road, Srinagar, from 6 am to 8 am on 27th July, 2023,” the order issued by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Ajaz Asad read on Wednesday.

“The time window has been finalised in the larger public interest as the procession route encompasses massive business/commercial establishments, movement of ambulances, students, office staff, general passengers, etc,” the order added.

The procession’s approval is noteworthy because it was previously forbidden for more than three decades due to the links with separatists in the valley. The procession was banned at the start of separatist terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir in 1990.

The administration advised participants of the processions not to “engage in any anti-national/anti-establishment speeches/sloganeering or propaganda” in its directive on Wednesday. According to the directive, no behaviour that is “prejudicial to security and sovereignty of the State” should take place during the parade, and participants “should not disrespect any national symbol/emblem.”

“They (processions) shall not hoist any flag depicting provocative slogans/text and/or photos of terror outfits, logos of banned organisations at both national and international level. Activities of the participants attending the procession should remain strictly confined to the program only. They shall cooperate with local police and other security agencies as desired by them in the public interest,” the order read.

The 8th Muharram procession begins in the Shaheed Gunj area of the city, travels through Lalchowk in the city centre, and ends in the Dalgate neighbourhood of Srinagar. The 10th Muharram procession, meanwhile, travels through Shia-dominated areas of the city.

As per the reports, Ittihadul Muslimeen, a member of the separatist conglomerate Hurriyat Conference, traditionally organised the 8th Muharram processions, and some Sunnis also participated in them.

The decision on the procession was made after senior administration officials believed that letting the procession would send a “strong signal” about calm in the area. Meetings with Shia Muslim community representatives were then held, and ultimately the prohibition was lifted.

Ruining lives of teenagers over Sulli/Bulli deals, whitewashing Udupi case as a ‘prank’: How elements like Zubair, Dhanya and their ilk dehumanise Hindus

On 21st July, a Karnataka-based organisation, All College Student Power (ACSP), wrote the Superintendent of Police, district Udupi, about an incident at Netra Jyoti College where three female students of the Muslim community secretly made a video of Hindu female students.

The college took up the matter, and three students responsible for recording the videos were suspended effective immediately, pending internal investigation. Though the victim(s) did not wish to file an official complaint in the matter, the college went ahead and informed the police keeping in mind the sensitivity of the matter.

The media initially did mention ‘two communities’. It also mentioned that the video was circulated among community groups by the Muslim girls who clicked the video of the Hindu girls.

As soon as the details of the case were out, including the name of the Muslim women, the Left-Islamist cabal went into overdrive trying to whitewash the case. Interestingly, the police left no stone unturned as well, seemingly, to downplay the case where women’s dignity was compromised. Almost immediately, the police declared that there was no communal angle to the case. There had also been no FIR registered against the women who videotaped Hindu women in the washroom – a crime by any standard where the process of the law should have been followed. The police also declared that no videos were shared over Whatsapp or any other social media platforms. In fact, the police went on to claim that they looked through the phones and found no such video at all.

The News Minute, which was one of the loudest voices whitewashing the case quoted the police saying, “We looked through the phone and didn’t find any such video. We thoroughly investigated the matter, and there is no evidence that the video was shared. It was a one-off incident in the college and had no communal angle to it. The purported victim doesn’t want to file a police complaint.”

The News Minute report which quoted the police, in fact, shamelessly went on further to whitewash the crime. At the very beginning of the report, TNM wrote, “While the college management and the police maintain that there was no criminal intent and that the video was deleted, right-wing groups have been mobilising public opinion by spreading the rumour that sexually explicit videos of many Hindu women have been circulated to hundreds of Muslim men by women from the community as part of a larger Jihadi conspiracy”.

TNM went on to further claim that the action of the Muslim students videographing the Hindu women in the washroom was a mere prank and that they deleted the video in front of the victims. They also used the fact that the students were acquainted with each other as a peg to downplay the crime.

One has to wonder if the TNM staff, run by a woman herself, Dhanya Rajendran, would be comfortable if such a “prank” was played on them. TNM essentially furthered this shameless narrative, very clearly saying that there was no criminal intent since it was supposedly a “fun prank” and therefore, the Muslim women should not be held legally liable for their actions.

The TNM does not just stop there. They, in fact, go on to paint victims of Muslim women. They quote the chairman of the institute saying that the Muslim women were scared for their safety because the Hijab row had also erupted in Udupi.

Here is how TNM decided to end their report on the Udupi scandal where Hindu women were targeted by Muslim women (even though there was supposedly no communal angle, according to the police):

Adding to the already charged atmosphere, this incident occurred a year after the hijab ban controversy in Karnataka. Udupi became the center of a heated dispute in colleges over the wearing of hijabs by Muslim students. The conflict gained international attention when photographs of Muslim students studying on the stairs outside their classrooms surfaced, leading to protests and violence. While the recent incident is not related to the previous hijab ban dispute, authorities emphasise that it should not be communalised. The college management and the police call for restraint and unity in dealing with the matter.

Essentially, even in a case where 3 Muslim women victimised Hindu women, TNM ensured not only to dehumanise the Hindu women by calling the crime a mere prank but also ensured that it is the Muslim women who are branded as the REAL victims (since they are scared after the Hijab ban in schools). For TNM, clearly, videotaping secret videos of topless Hindu women is a prank, but the Muslim women who committed the crime are the real victims since they are scared because the court asked them to not wear hijabs in schools and stick to their school uniform.

An Archive version of the TNM report can be read here.

Taking a cue from The News Minute, the dog-whistler in chief, AltNews’ co-founder Mohammad Zubair also proceeded to downplay the crime.

Zubair, who is famous for whitewashing crimes against Hindus, randomly came forward and claimed that the tweets by Rashmi Samant and Shefali Vaidya, demanding justice for the Hindu women, were fake news. He launched a vicious attack against female right-wingers and activists, including Shafali Vaidya and Rashmi Samant, for raising their voices against the heinous incident. When Zubair was called out, he played the victim card and said when he exposes fake news; people accuse him of dog whistling.

One does not particularly know what Zubair was going on and on about. Rashmi Samant and Shefali Vaidya tweeted that 3 Muslim women had made secret videos of Hindu women and circulated the video in community WhatsApp groups – information that was widely reported by the media. Zubair claimed it was fake news and the Karnataka govt filed an FIR against Samant. It is pertinent to note that the Congress govt in Karnataka has allied with AltNews to bust misinformation – ironically.

He then amplified the narrative that the Muslim women taking secret videos was merely a prank.

Rashmi Samant and Shefali Vaidya immediately started getting hate directed towards them. They were being abused and threatened while Zubair, who was calling the Udupi case a mere prank, was playing the victim.

Essentially, The New Minute, Mohammad Zubair, Anusha Ravi Sood and other Islamists and Leftists had the following assertions to make about the Udupi scandal:

  1. The Muslim women had no “criminal intention”.
  2. There was no “larger nexus” or crime here.
  3. The Muslim women were just “pranking” the Hindu women by making their topless videos by secretly planting cameras in the washrooms.
  4. This case was being exaggerated and blown out of proportions by “right wing accounts and organisations”.
  5. The Muslim students were scared because of the Hijab row a year ago.
  6. The real victims are, therefore, the Muslims here (the criminal women and every other Muslim because of the hijab row that happened a year ago) and the real culprits here were the Hindus (the mean people asking for an investigation).
  7. Anyone who is actually offended at the criminal act and wants an investigation is a Hindu terrorists and therefore, must be put behind bars.

Their entire propaganda fell like a house of cards when after widespread outrage, the Karnataka police grudgingly filed an FIR against the 3 Muslim women and the university administration – for making the secret videos, destroying evidence and failing to provide evidence and documents to the police.

Even after the FIRs, Zubair, Sood and others continued to peddle half information to further their lies about the case, leaving out crucial information about the FIR. The details of that propaganda can be read here.

While The News Minute, Dhanya Rajendran, Zubair and others continued to demonise the “right-wing” and claim that it is the Hindus who are communalising the issue, one could see blatant disregard for the privacy and dignity of the Hindu women in just how the cabal conducted itself when this case surfaced. The sole aim seemed to have been to shield the perpetrators since they were Muslim women, blame the ‘right wing’ and turn their protestations the fulcrum of the case and gaslight the Hindu victim by repeating, over and over again, that the Muslim women were “young girls” merely playing a prank. The Home Minister of Karnataka went a step further to say that this was just a “minor issue between friends” and that it was the BJP who was politicising the issue.

Such dehumanisation of the Hindu victim is not unusual, but one has to marvel at the brazenness of the cabal that only seems to be on an upward trajectory. As the Hindus get more vocal, the Left-Islamist nexus becomes more shameless. That is just how it is.

Sulli Deals, Bulli Bai and the Udupi case: How liberals and Islamists dehumanise Hindus and their shameless hypocrisy

We are often tuned to wonder how would this very cabal, which is today deeming the Udupi case a ‘minor prank between friends’, react if the roles were reversed. What if the victim woman was a Muslim and it was Hindu girls who were filming her? Would these very people react the same way? Would they call it a mere prank? Would they say that demands for justice were an overreaction, politicisation or communalisation?

One recalls the Bulli Bai and Sulli Deal controversy which erupted in 2021 and 2022. Essentially, it was a bunch of teenagers taking publicly available pictures of some Muslim women and putting them on an app which was hosted on GitHub. Apparently, they were “auctioning” these images. Now, since they are publicly available images, nobody would buy those images. It was not even meant for that. It was an asinine move by a bunch of over-zealous teenagers who did not realise the ecosystem they were up against.

As a woman, I understand the indignation and humiliation that the Muslim women felt. I know what it feels like when one’s images are misused – I experience it on a regular basis on the internet by Muslim men who believe I should be killed or raped for my ideological moorings. However, let’s be honest here. These were publicly available images. The teenagers had no access to the women’s intimate or private images which they had not themselves put up on the internet. If one is to define a “prank”, in the true sense of the word, this was it. A disgusting one, but a prank nonetheless.

The reaction of the Muslim community and those who ideologically back them was disproportionate. The teenagers involved spent several months in jail, there was global outrage about Islamophobia and the plight of Muslim men at the hands of “Hindu fascists”, the teenagers were branded Hindu terrorists and the entire community was put on trial for victimising Muslims – especially Muslim women.

Sample this tearjerker which was published by The Wire.

On January 1, 2022, while the rest of India was either forwarding New Year greetings to friends and family on WhatsApp groups or recuperating from the celebrations of the previous day, Muslim women in India were battling with themselves and with the world outside on how to address the threat, trauma and indignity that they had been targeted with once again.

‘Bulli Bai’, an app hosted on Github, was offering us, Indian Muslim women, on auction. Many women, including myself, opened their social media accounts to their photos with the phrase, ‘Your Bulli Bai of the day is…”

For those who may not be aware, ‘Bulli/Sulli’ are Islamophobic slurs referring to Muslim women, alterations of the term ‘Mulli’ often used by the right wing to troll Muslim women. In 2021, a similar app called ‘Sulli Deals‘, which was also hosted on Github, had listed hundreds of Muslim women for “auction” with their photographs doctored and sourced without their permission. For many women, they were listed in the first app as well as the ‘Bulli Bai’ app.

I had a nervous breakdown when the severity of the situation sunk in. As a Muslim woman in India, I am not new to Islamophobia or anti-Muslim narratives and hate. From outrightly being denied houses on rent because of my religious identity to workplace Islamophobia and hate, I have had my fair share. But this was a new low.

This article was written by Mariya Salim, apparently, a women’s rights activist.

Another article in a website called “religion news” read:

The roughly 100 women targeted are from different age groups and diverse career paths, but we had one thing in common: We are all Muslim and known for our vocal stance against Hindutva, the far-right extremist ideology driving much of the violence and hateful rhetoric against Christians, Muslims, Dalits and other minorities in India.

The woman says she was humiliated and felt like a prostitute for being put up for “auction”. She was not, of course. Nobody was auctioning her or purchasing her. These were publicly available images. However, the article went on to talk about Hindutva, Hindu “extremists”, the mythical trope of Muslims being targeted by Hindus in India, lynchings etc.

The very people who furthered the “prank” trope while Hindu women were quite literally violated by placing secret cameras in a washroom were outraging about this fiasco in 2021 and 2022.

Here is Dhanya Rajendran crying Islamophobia:

Dhanya, who today defends her platform calling the Udupi case a mere prank, wanted trafficking charges to apply to the teenagers who were arrested in the case. Trafficking charges would mean that the teenagers involved go to jail for prostitution and flesh trade because they put publicly available images on an app.

She doxxed the teenagers accused. An 18 year old girl as well.

Zubair gave tips on how to investigate and arrested the teenagers involved in the controversy. The thread was a mile-long one where he said that Muslims were being victimised.

He was outraged that these teenagers who used publicly available images of Muslim women were not arrested immediately, responding to another Islamist account that blamed all Hindus, especially Upper Caste Hindus.

The fact that Dhanya Rajendran, Zubair and their entire ecosystem cried copious amounts of tears and ruined the lives of teenagers after the Bulli/Sulli deal controversy proves that they are capable of fighting for the rights of women, however, they are capable of sympathising with the plight only of a specific set of women – Muslims and those who align with them politically and ideologically.

When the injustice is met out to Hindu women, especially if the perpetrators are Muslims, the sympathy is thrown right out of the window and the task at hand becomes that of whitewashing the perpetrator and gaslighting the victim.

On June 9th 2022, audio of Clubhouse conversation between the alleged social media’ influencers’ started to make rounds on Twitter where the speaker normalised ‘hate sex’ with ‘sanghis’ because women are ‘hot’. In the undated conversation, that happened on the Clubhouse app in a room titled “sex with your ex” on the topic “Do you only date hot people”, one speaker identified as Neeraj Kadamboor (Instagram ID kadamboorneeraj) made a derogatory remark about women who are opposed to his political ideology.

Neeraj essentially said that he finds “sanghis” “hot” and would like to have sex with them. Right at that time, his fellow “influencers” chimed in, saying that “Sanghis are not hot” because of their political ideology. At this point, Neeraj Kadamboor says that he would want to have ‘hate sex’ with Sanghis.

Interestingly, one person who was involved in this entire episode was one Aishwarya Subramanyam.

When Aishwarya Subramanyam, one of the moderators of the ClubHouse room, asked Neeraj if he dates only hot people, he responded, “No, I date all kinds of people but on the dating apps, I do sometimes thirst for these very hot Sanghi types, just for fun.”

To this Aishwarya responded that Sanghis are not hot, but Neeraj nevertheless defended himself saying he finds them hot. Neeraj further adds, “Just like the opposite of paper bag sex….”, to which a lady in the group remarked: “It is like having hate sex”.

After outrage about the dehumanisation of those women who these Leftist influencers don’t agree with politically, there was a shameless defence mounted which further dehumanised Hindus.

What was essentially being justified here is the use of sex as a tool to vent out anger and hatred against another individual. In that sense, the mentality here is not much different from the ones that motivate crimes against women. In many cases, rapists subject women to sexual violence in order to assert their dominance over them. In other cases, rapists attack women to humiliate and emotionally damage her husband and other men in the family. In the ‘hate’ sex scandal, a similar mentality was on display.

The liberal gloated over the fact that he is ‘f*cking’ someone he hates, exercising domination over an object of hatred and showing the individual his or her place beneath him. That’s the mentality at work here. It is essentially the weaponisation of sex against political adversaries.

This mentality is also one of the defining aspects of Grooming Jihad. As a part of the Grooming Jihad in India, Hindu women are entrapped by assailants who pose as imposters, intending to have a sexual relationship, marrying them and later manipulating them into eschewing their beliefs and faith.

It does not need the IQ of Einstein to realise why the weaponisation of sex is so problematic. It only leads to more crimes against women and dehumanises political adversaries. Once adversaries have been sufficiently dehumanised, all manners of crimes against them are justifiable.

The denial of the existence of Love Jihad, justification of using sex as a weapon against political opponents, the silence when Hindu women are gang raped and murdered in Bengal as political vendetta, the silence when Hindu women are hounded and abused and the whitewashing of the Udupi case – all point towards the shameless dehumanisation of Hindu women to a point where all crimes against them, if perpetrated by Muslims, will have a context attached to them as a justification, forcing people to look away because of the inherent normalisation of such crimes. Individuals like Zubair, Dhanya Rajendran and their likes are mere foot soldiers who further this narrative. It is perhaps time for Hindus to realise that these elements would piss on their dead skull and dance around their corpse if they could and instead of the insistence on being morally superior, it is survival that should drive them.

Rajasthan: PM Modi dedicates various development projects, releases PM-Kisan installment

0

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated various development projects, including the release of the 14th instalment of the Centre’s flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) at a programme held during his visit to Rajasthan’s Sikar on Thursday.

Funds worth Rs 17,000 crore were released directly into bank accounts of more than 8.5 crore PM-Kisan beneficiaries. PM-Kisan is a central sector scheme launched in February 2019 to supplement the financial needs of all land-holding farmers subject to certain exclusion criteria of higher income status. Financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments in every four months is transferred into the bank accounts of farmers.

Further, in a significant move benefiting farmers, PM Modi also dedicated 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs) to the nation. PMKSKs are being developed to provide a one-stop solution for all farmers’ needs. From information on agri-inputs (fertilisers, seeds, implements) to testing facilities for soil, seeds, and fertilisers, to information regarding various government schemes, PMKSKs are envisaged to become a reliable support system for farmers in the country.

‘If police come here, break their hands and legs’: Mob gathers in Haryana village after the death of one Shekul Khan in police custody

On Tuesday, 25th July 2023, a video from Faridabad, Haryana went viral on social media. In this approximately 3-minute-long video, an individual from the mob can be seen provoking others, urging them to assault police personnel. The person delivering these inflammatory statements encouraged his listeners not to fear anyone. The video was originally shared by DTV News on its Facebook page.

In the said video, the individual making the provocative statement has been identified as Jabir Ghatmika, hailing from Mewat, Haryana. Jabir boldly challenged the Khattar government at the outset of the video, declaring his intention to face any action including being shot by a gun. He further said that he is not afraid of anyone and that he has nothing to do with any politician or leader.

Jabir Ghatmika said, “I am telling the public. If the CIA police enter a village without information, if they are not from your local police station, then break their hands and legs. Cut them apart. Because there is a section for self-defence. Tell me, Sir, how do we know if there are goons? Are there any stars? Is there anything written on their forehead? Are they here to protect us? Because they themselves have become terrorists, my brothers.”

In another part of the same video, Jabir alleged the frequent deaths of Mewat residents in police custody. Questioning the security personnel, Jabir said that the condition of returning was to file an FIR against the policemen.

Jabir further said, “The policemen who killed him, if you know that 2 have killed him, then catch them and give them to us. We also kill them. We will also not file a case. I’ll say they died of the attack.”

Jabir also said that the mob neither needs jobs nor money. As a demand, the mob demanded a ‘section 302 accused’ (murder accused). In the same video, Jabir said that the number of Mewatis in the country is 2.75 crore.

Speaking to OpIndia, Bittu Bajrangi, an office-bearer of an Hindu outfit in Haryana, said that the video is from July 25, Tuesday. He also named the government-run B K Hospital in Faridabad as the location of the video. Bittu Bajrangi described Jabir, who is making provocative statements, as originally from Mewat and also active in the Junaid-Nasir case some time ago in which hatred was incited against Hindus by accusing them of burning Muslims.

Bittu Bajrangi has demanded action from Faridabad Police against Jabir on this statement. According to information received by OpIndia, Jabir came out of jail on bail this month for the offence of Section 307.

The four had also named Shekul Khan in the interrogation, who was arrested on July 20, 2023. On July 21, the police produced Shekul Khan in the court and took 10-day custody remand.

On July 21, Shekul complained of breathlessness and weakness after which he was admitted to the hospital by the police.

According to the police spokesman, on July 21, the accused was given medicine in the hospital and again brought back with the police. Varanasi’s tourist footfall was 8 times that of Goa in 2022: Here is how major projects have led to a big jump in spiritual tourism

Varanasi has seen eight times the number of tourists as Goa in 2022, according to data shared by ICICI Direct. The holy city received a footfall of 7.16 crore tourists last year as compared to 85 lakh received by Goa.

In fact, after Kashi, other UP cities including Mathura, Ayodhya, and Prayagraj had more tourists than Goa in 2022, indicating a massive increase in spiritual tourism of India’s ancient holy cities. Kashi also received 80,000 foreign tourists last year according to the statistics.

The holy city of Varanasi located on the banks of the holy Ganga river has been a pilgrimage for Hindus since time immemorial. Devotees have thronged the ancient city in search of God, artists in search of creativity, and scholars in search of knowledge. It is one of the oldest living cities in India and is considered the abode of Mahadev, Lord Shiva.

Varanasi, also known as Benaras and Kashi, has long been associated with spiritual tourism centuries before the term was coined. It houses 4,000 ancient temples and several religious centres including Buddhist and Jain community centres.

Utilizing its deep spiritual appeal, the government has put a specific focus on boosting the economy of Kashi, which is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency. According to the ICICI Direct data, Varanasi hosts around 250 startups becoming one of the rising startup hubs in India in order to achieve CM Yogi Adityanath’s $1 trillion economy dream.

Uttar Pradesh in total has more than 8,000 startups and 50% of these are run by women. Special Secretary, IT & Electronics & MD, Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation, Kumar Vineet reportedly said that the government is planning to have at least one incubator in every district.

Besides providing a nurturing ecosystem for businesses, Varanasi’s economy has received an impetus across sectors. The ICICI Direct report mainly credits four sectors in this regard namely, Tourism, Manufacturing, Hotel, and Education.

Projects like the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Tent City on the banks of Ganga, air-circuit pilgrimage, Ganga Ghat revamp, the longest river cruise network, and the ropeway project are some of the completed and ongoing projects directly aimed at increasing not only tourist footfall but also inviting investors.

The holy city has attracted big money in the tourism sector. In February this year, Benares received investment proposals worth a whopping Rs 11,500 crore with more than 40 MoUs signed with the tourism department. Local businesses and vendors too have seen a surge in demand for products and services.

ICICI Direct says the income of people associated with the tourism sector has increased anywhere between 20% to 65%. Employment in the tourism sector has increased by 34.18%. Consequently, another sector benefitting out of this and adding to the city’s economic growth is the hotel and hospitality industry.

As per ICIC Direct, the income of hotel owners in Kashi has increased by 65% recording a year-round profit. It said that the hotels in the city are booked for at least 15 days. Oyo founder and CEO Ritesh Agarwal too in December last year noted that Varanasi is outperforming Goa in terms of hospitality as hotel bookings in the city kept increasing by the hour.

In a big boost to the hotel and hospitality industry, Japan’s Hotel Management International Company Limited (HMICL) earlier this year signed a memorandum of understanding with the UP government worth Rs 7,200 crore. The chain plans to build luxury hotels across 30 major cities in the state including Varanasi. Ecotourism has also received great impetus with a focus on experience-based green tourism.

Famous for its Benarsi silk sarees, the holy city generates a significant percentage of its revenue from silk weaving. While the city’s silk products are exported globally, products from pottery, wooden toys, brassware, carpets, wall hangings, and more have a special appeal amongst tourists. Modi government’s vocal for local pitch, too, has given a much-needed boost to local artisans and silk weavers.

The Yogi government in UP also plans to set up a silk exchange project called Integrated Silk Complex for the weavers of Benares for Rs 8 crore under One District One Product scheme. The city also houses heavy metal giants like Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), and Diesel Locomotive Works.

Education is another key contributing sector to the economy of Varanasi. The holy city has historically been a center of knowledge for saints, priests, subject scholars, intellectuals, and students. This learning center is home to the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) which sees an influx of students from across Uttar Pradesh and beyond. Varanasi’s average literacy rate is 79.27%.

IIT (BHU) has signed MoUs with many foreign universities in Japan, France, Finland, and others. It has also been at the forefront of implementing the National Education Policy, 2020. In March this year, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of ‘Centre of Excellence on Machine Tools Design’ at IIT (BHU).

Sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, and Ustad Bismillah Khan are all sons of the blessed city or have lived here for a major part of their lives. Mrs. Annie Besant chose Varanasi as the home for her ‘Theosophical Society’ and Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, to institute ‘Benares Hindu University, the biggest University in Asia. Ayurveda is said to be originated at Varanasi and is believed to be the basis of modern medical sciences such as Plastic surgery, cataracts, and Calculus operations. Maharshi Patanjali, the preceptor of Ayurveda and Yoga, was also affiliated with Varanasi, the holy city.

Moreover, Varanasi exports around three tonnes of green peas & green chillies daily to Persian Gulf countries. Fruits & vegetables are being exported to Nepal & Bangladesh. Its ‘langda’ mangoes, Ghazipur’s okra and green chillies, Jaunpur’s radish and melons have started reaching foreign markets. Agro-food parks in the city have also generated export quality food products thereby exposing the city to global markets.

Not only sarees and other traditional products but food also has aided the brand Varanasi. GI tag to Banarsi paan among other delicacies from various UP cities gives a “must try” message to domestic and foreign travelers introducing them to tastes and experiences specific only to Kashi.

In March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the clarion call for “Developing Tourism in Mission Mode”. He said that “events like global conferences and sporting events have the potential to create a stupendous level of infrastructure”. He cited the example of the recent FIFA World Cup 2022, which benefitted Qatar’s economy massively.

Ganga Aarti

Two months later, in June, Varanasi hosted the three-day G20 Development Ministers’ Meeting. In April, the city also hosted the G20 meeting of the Agriculture Working Group. Earlier this year, the city also hosted Khelo Banaras competition wherein more than one lakh youth participated across various sports disciplines. PM Modi also inaugurated the Sigra International Stadium in Varanasi in March.

While Varanasi is widely known as a spiritual tourism destination, the various development projects in the city across sectors have made it a center of amalgamation for the more modern tourism industries too.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal ‘runs away’ again after he was confronted by BJP at NDMC meeting over flood management

On Wednesday, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) meeting witnessed a heated exchange between Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and the BJP leaders as the former accused the latter of turning the meeting into a ‘political battlefield’. The CM then adjourned the meeting and attempted to ‘run away’ from answering the questions posed by the BJP members.

This is after the BJP members during the meeting raised the issue of CM Kejriwal engaging in ‘political tourism and alliances’ at a time when the nation’s capital was witnessing devastating floods.

Notably, the video of the ruckus went viral over social media in which CM Kejriwal could be seen having no answers to questions put forth by the BJP members during the meeting. Later the CM who was chairing the meeting in the absence of Union minister and New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi, adjourned the session for Thursday without any discussion on the other listed matters.

According to a representative of the NDMC, Kejriwal presides over council meetings when Lekhi is absent. When neither is present, the sessions are presided over by NDMC Chairman Amit Yadav, a national government-appointed bureaucrat.

The BJP council members charged Kejriwal with continuing to engage in “political tourism” while the city was under water at the beginning of the meeting on Wednesday. Satish Upadhyay, the vice chairman of the NDMC and a prominent member of the BJP, stated that party members spoke out about the difficulties that New Delhi residents were having amid the rains and ensuing flooding in the second week of July.

“Members raised concerns over the delay in holding the apex meeting on flood control in Delhi, which played a significant role in worsening the rain and flood situation across Delhi as well as the New Delhi area. Timely desilting of drainage systems was not done, which increased the problems of floods in various areas of NDMC, and the overflow of sewers in MCD areas resulted in backwater flooding the New Delhi area, causing further hardship to the citizens of the New Delhi area. VIP areas like Connaught Place, Bharti Nagar, Golf Link, Lodhi Road were also highly affected due to this mismanagement,” he said.

Also, BJP Council member Kuljeet Singh Chahal criticized AAP saying that Kejriwal was busy attending alliance meetings with other political parties in Patna and Bengaluru at a time when Delhi was flooded. “NDMC organised more than 70 suvidha camps in its area, but Kejriwal, as the area’s representative, has not participated in any camp,” he could be heard saying.

The AAP meanwhile refuted to the allegations and blamed the BJP for not allowing Kejriwal to conduct the session. In the video that has been going viral on social media, Kejriwal can been seen keeping mum while asked by BJP members to answer and later the CM adjourned the meeting.

Kejriwal walked away in May, 2023 too after he was questioned about renovation at CM’s residence

Well, this is not the first time when Kejriwal has opted to keep shut and ‘run away’ from the questions posed by the BJP. Earlier in May this year, Kejriwal walked out of a New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) meeting after BJP leaders raised the issue of the renovation of his official residence at the expense of taxpayers’ money.

BJP leader and NDMC member Kuljeet Singh Chahal raised the issue of the alleged irregularities during the renovation of Kejriwal’s Flagstaff Road bungalow as he narrated the story of a ‘Dhongi Raja’. Chahal apparently referred to CM Kejriwal as a Dhongi Raja and went on to talk about the expenditure on the renovation of Kejriwal’s official residence as he said that the money used in renovating Kejriwal’s residence was taken from Delhi’s exchequer. He added that marble worth Rs 6 crore was used in Kejriwal’s residence.

Calling Kejriwal ‘dhongi’ and ‘chor’, Chahal asserted that Kejriwal will have to give an account of the public’s money squandered for his personal comfort.

Chahal had started narrating the story of “Dhongi Raja” in CM Arvind Kejriwal’s style. If one recalls, in April, Arvind Kejriwal had targeted PM Modi without naming him, by narrating a story about a less educated King in the Delhi Assembly. Chahal took a cue from the CM and narrated a similar story in his style about a Dhongi Raja.

“He (Kejriwal) used to say that I will not take a big bungalow, big car or jeep, but has spent every penny of the hard-earned money of the people of Delhi in revamping his house” Chahal said.

Kejriwal walked away in 2022 also after he was questioned about funds used for school development

Also, in September 2022, Kejriwal was seen running away from a New Delhi Municipal Corporation meeting after Bharatiya Janata Party’s New Delhi General Secretary and NDMC member Kuljeet Singh Chahal confronted him over the AAP government’s claims about school development. Chahal cited an RTI query where multiple questions were asked, and one of them was if Kejriwal utilized funds from his MLA quota for development in NDMC schools.

Chahal raised questions over the claims made by CM Kejriwal and the Delhi government about the development of the Schools. Chahal cited the RTI during the meeting and questioned Kejriwal over his inactions towards the development of the schools.

Instead of answering Chahal, Kejriwal got irked and left the meeting in a hasty manner. The video of the meeting had gone viral on social media platforms back then too.

Uttar Pradesh: POCSO Court awards death sentence to Mohd Faheem for raping and killing a four-year-old girl

On Wednesday, July 26, a special POCSO Court in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, awarded a death sentence to a 35-year-old man named Mohammed Faheem for raping and killing a four-year-old girl child. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.2 lakh on the accused which would be paid to the victim’s family. According to reports, the incident happened in April this year in the Jahagirabad area of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.

Calling a “rarest of rare” case, Dhruv Rai, special judge (POCSO) said, “Such a crime is not only a violation of law, human and social relations but also destroys the social structure. The person committing such a crime deserves maximum punishment.”

After the court pronounced the verdict, the additional district government counsel Bharat Sharma said, “Dhruv Rai, special judge (POCSO), has ordered that the accused be hanged till death under IPC section 302 and section 6 of POCSO Act with a fine of Rs 1 lakh; seven-year imprisonment under section IPC 201 with Rs 20,000 penalty.”

The perpetrator, according to SSP Bulandshahr Shlok Kumar, lured the little girl to his home as she was playing outside, raped her, and strangled her to death.

“The girl’s family reported her to the police after she vanished while playing inside the house. When the police arrived, the neighbours told them that they had seen the girl with Faheem, who lived nearby. The girl’s body was found in Faheem’s home later that evening. He had hidden the body, which was covered in many bite marks, under a bed, the SSP continued.

The SSP added that the accused was arrested the same night he committed the heinous crime. The autopsy report of the little girl confirmed that she was raped and murdered. The accused has been lodged in jail since his arrest in April.
