Maharashtra: Latur declares two days off for schools to allow Muslim teachers and students to attend Ijtema organised by Tablighi Jamaat

The Latur Administration in Maharashtra issued notices to the schools in the city directing them to declare two days of holiday citing the occasion of the Islamic evangelical event termed as ‘Ijtema’ organised by Tablighi Jamaat. The notice stated that the schools shall declare two days off allowing all Muslim teachers and students to participate in the event.

According to the letter obtained by OpIndia, the directions were issued by the Education Department of the Latur district administration based on the memorandum submitted by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Vikram Vasantrao Kale, who also is a current member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council. Kale in his memorandum had stated that the Ijtema was being organised in the Ausa town of Latur district and that it was important for all the Muslim students and teachers to attend the event for their ‘intellectual and social growth’.

Notice issued by Latur Administration obtained by OpIndia

He added that many Islamic scholars were slated to attend the event organised on December 5 and 6 and that it would be better if the administration declared two days off in all the schools across the district. He also termed the Islamic event as a ‘social awareness program’ and demanded that all Muslim students and teachers be present at the event.

Accordingly, the Latur administrative officials released a notice on December 3 declaring two days off for schools across the district. The officials, including Block Education Officers Vandana Futane and Nagesh Mapari, also said that the schools shall compensate for the holidays by calling the students on Saturdays (weekly off days) for a month. Further, the officials also forced the private school principals to declare two days’ holiday on the occasion of Ijtema which was organised by Tablighi Jamaat.

Ijtema is a show of strength event for Muslims which is all about the moral reform of individuals and is often described as ‘making Muslims true Muslims’. It is termed a religious program in which several Islamic scholars are invited to offer guidance. It is an Islamic gathering organised by Islamic organizations for Muslims. It is considered to be an important aspect of the Tablighi Jamaat all over the world since it claims to have a big impact on the lives of Muslims.

Tablighi Jamaat, of which Tablighi Ijtema is an integral part, is a global Islamic missionary movement that urges Muslims to return to the way Islam was practised during the time of Prophet Muhammad. The focus is on rituals, dress, and personal behavior, and is considered one of the most influential Islamic religious movements of the 20th century. It has become the world’s second-largest Muslim congregation after the Islamic holy pilgrimage of Hajj.

Participation in Ijtema, according to a European Journal, promotes religious authority, prestige, and empowerment, and adds to Muslim identity through the concepts of brotherhood and Ummah.

30 years of Babri demolition: Read about the temporary ‘temple tent’ set up at Ram Janmabhoomi after levelling of the disputed structure

On this day 30 years ago (December 6, 1992), hundreds of Karsevaks brought down the disputed structure of Babri Masjid at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya.

The Babri structure was symbolic of brute strength, of how native culture was subjugated, and how the universally adored Lord Ram was shown his position by the invaders. It was a dark symbol of tyranny and barbarism. On December 6, 1992, that monument of tyranny came crumbling down and thus began another chapter in the glorious history of the great Hindu Civilization.

Though the structure was demolished, the struggle for the reclamation of Ram Janmabhoomi continued until the Supreme Court, in a historic decision on 9th November 2019, ruled in favour of Ram Lalla Virajmaan and ordered the government of India to provide support for the construction of the Ram Mandir. A trust was formed in February 2020 as per the court’s guidelines.

On August 5, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did the Bhoomi Pujan which marked the beginning of the construction of the Bhavya Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

Prior to the Bhumi Pujan, the idol of Ram Lalla was shifted from the makeshift tent, where Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram) had been living for years, to a new structure in the early hours on March 25, 2020, in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

How the temporary ‘temple tent’ of Ram Lalla came up in Ayodhya after the Babri demolition in 1992

At this point, before we proceed any further, it becomes crucial to revisit how Ram Lalla’s ‘temporary Mandir’ or the ‘makeshift temple tent’ appeared in Ayodhya following the demolition of the disputed Babri Masjid structure in 1992.

Notably, as the date of Bhoomi Pujan for Ram Mandir inched closer, several stories about the demolition of the disputed structure of Babri Masjid started surfacing. One such story was of the temporary Mandir of Ram Lalla that was raised in 1992 after the demolition.

Baba Satyanarayan Maurya, one of those Karsewaks who were present at the time when the temporary Mandir was built, had then in a video, narrated how they had to think quickly and build a temporary Mandir to place the Ram Lalla idol at the site before armed forces entered the premises to take them away.

Baba Satyanarayan Maurya, famous by the name Baba said, “on 7th December, when we came to know that police is arriving at the demolition site in few hours we did not have any way to build the temple quickly. If we did not build a temporary Mandir at the site, it would have still been a disputed land, not the location of Ram Mandir. Bhagwan Ram showed us the path, and we built a small temporary Mandir using the cloth we took with us to make banners.”

Basically, before the demolition of the mosque, Ram Lalla’s idol was placed inside the mosque under its central dome. It was placed by some devotees on a December night in 1949, after which the mosque was locked by the government to prevent any communal violence. Before that, both Muslims and Hindus worshipped at the site, as the British government had divided the site into two parts by erecting a fence in 1859. The inner court including the mosque was given to Muslims, while Hindus were allowed to use the outer court. After the mosque was demolished in 1992, the temporary temple, which was basically a tent, was raised to place the idol.

Ram Lalla idol shifted from ‘temple tent’

The ‘temporary Mandir’ or the ‘temple tent’ remained in the same structure till the time Ram Lalla was shifted in March 2020 by Yogi Adityanath ahead of the construction of the Ram Mandir.

With the shifting of the idol, the site was cleared for the construction of the grand Ram temple.

According to reports, the Ram Lalla idol was placed on a 9.5 kg silver throne in the new structure. The idol of the deity will remain in the structure till the construction of the Ram temple is completed on the site that has been allotted to the Ram Lalla by the Supreme Court.

In October this year, Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister Yogi Adityanath informed that over 50% construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya has been completed. According to the temple trust, the Lord Ram idol is likely to be enshrined in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum on Mankar Sankranti Day in 2024, and the temple’s construction, which began in 2020, is anticipated to be finished by the end of 2024.

Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya

The construction work on the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya began on August 5, 2020, after the foundation stone laying ceremony by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra (SRJBTK), the authority in charge of Ram Mandir’s operations, is supervising the temple’s construction. Former IAS Nripendra Mishra is the chairman of the construction committee.

Larsen & Toubro is the main contractor for the construction of the temple and the ramparts, while Tata Consulting Engineers has been hired as the project management consultant, while four other engineers four engineers Jagdish Aphale (IIT- Mumbai), Girish Sahastrabhujani (IIT-Mumbai), Jagannathji (from Aurangabad), and Avinash Sangamnerkar (from Nagpur) are also working voluntarily on behalf of the Trust.

The entire project is projected to cost between 900 and 1,000 crores and will be spread over 110 acres of land. The temple complex will also include a museum, a research centre, and an archival centre. By December 2023, the temple’s lower floor, which will house the sanctum sanctorum and a Ram Lalla idol, would be ready for worship.

Paresh Rawal summoned by Kolkata Police over his ‘cooking fish’ remark for illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas

BJP MP Paresh Rawal was on Tuesday summoned by Kolkata Police over his ‘cooking fish’ remarks made against illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas during the campaign for the Gujarat state elections.

The actor has been asked to appear before the Taltala police station on Monday, December 12.

The controversy erupted after he asked the voters in Gujarat if they will ‘cook fish for the Bengalis’ with their gas connections. He later apologised for his comments and said that he “meant illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingya” people when he asked at a rally what the audience will do with gas cylinders. The actor and BJP leader also took to social media and apologised for his remarks, asserting that they were meant for illegal intruders from Bangladesh and Rohingyas.

However, on December 2, an FIR was filed against Paresh Rawal by West Bengal Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Mohammed Salim. The FIR was filed at Kolkata’s Taltala police station, where Rawal is asked to appear on Monday.

The CPM leader alleged that Rawal’s ‘cooking fish’ remark could foster anti-Bengali sentiments among people of other states in the country, causing problems for expatriate Bengalis. “In this context, I filed a complaint against Paresh Rawal and urged that he receives appropriate punishment,” he said.

The comments were made during his rally in Gujarat’s Valsad. Rawal had said that Gujarat can tolerate inflation but not “Illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas”.

Gujarat Police arrests TMC leader Saket Gokhale

The summons to Paresh Rawal came hours after Gujarat Police arrested TMC leader Saket Gokhale after he landed at Jaipur airport. TMC MP Derek O’Brien took to Twitter to inform about Gokhale’s arrest, adding that he was picked up by Police and that at 2 AM he called up his mother to inform her that the police is taking him to Ahmedabad and that he will arrive in the city by noon on Tuesday.

Gokhale, a former RTI ‘activist’ and current Trinamool Congress leader, was caught sharing a fabricated news report about an RTI query and its response that does not exist. He had claimed that ₹30 crores were spent on PM Modi’s Morbi visit, sharing a news clipping from an unnamed Gujarati newspaper, which was claimed to be Gujarat Samachar. But BJP has said that it is fabricated and no such report was published and there is no such RTI reply, and Gujarat Samachar has also said that they have not published such a report.

Citing the so-called report, Gokhale claimed that ₹ 5.5 crore was purely for “welcome, event management, & photography”. He also claimed that “Modi’s event management & PR costs more than the life of 135 people”, as the families of the 135 victims of the tragedy were given ex-gratia of ₹4 lakh each, totalling ₹5 crores.

There was no such RTI and no such media report as claimed by Gokhale.

UP: Village head Sattar abuses PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath, insults Hindus, Sitapur police arrest him after audio goes viral

0

Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur police Tuesday arrested a man named Sattar for allegedly abusing PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Sattar, who is reportedly the Pradhan (head) of Khanpur Sadat village located in Laharpur Tehsil of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh, was also accused of making some objectionable remarks against the Hindu community.

Sitapur police took to Twitter on 5 December 2022 to inform that the accused has been arrested.

The arrest was made after an audio clip went viral on social media, wherein the accused Sattar was heard making disparaging remarks against the PM and UP CM and also denigrating the Hindu samaj. In the audio clip, Pradhan Sattar could be heard saying, “If you sell your daughter, you will get votes.” Provocative remarks like “Parcham Leharega” and “Aag Laga do” could also be heard in the purported audio clip.

The Sitapur police, however, sprung into action after a youth named Ankit approached the police with a complaint against Sattar. Ankit confirmed that the voice in the audio clip was that of Khanpur Sadat village head Sattar.

Based on the complaint, the Sitapur police registered a case against Sattar under sections 504, 506, 295-A of the IPC, and section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment 2013.

OpIndia is in possession of a copy of the FIR registered against village pradhan Sattar, who was arrested, and taken to court for further action.

Copy of the FIR filed against the Pradhan of Khanpur Sadat village located in Laharpur Tehsil of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh

The police said that as per the complainant Ankit, he was incidentally in the Khanpur Sadat village with his friend Amit for some personal work on the day when the incident happened. On reaching the village he heard Sattar, the village Pradhan, denigrating PM Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, by using abusive words about their mothers or sisters. The complainant further alleged that Sattar made disparaging statements against Hindu society as a whole as well.

Ankit further alleged in his complaint that Sattar started abusing him as well when he tried to stop him. Ankit added that the Hindus gathered there were so terrified of Sattar’s outburst that they dispersed and quickly shut the doors to their businesses and residences. While the local Hindu community was incensed by Pradhan’s remarks, the fear in their eyes was also evident, said Ankit.

He added that after the incident he approached the police and urged them to file a complaint against the accused Pradhan.

Meanwhile, the incident has sparked outrage, with members of the Hindu organisation Rashtriya Hindu Sher Sena vowing a huge protest if the culprit is not punished severely.

Muslim politicians and ‘activists’ cry ‘death of Indian democracy’ on the 30th anniversary of the Babri demolition at the Ram Janmabhoomi site

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, Muslim politicians and ‘activists’ took to Twitter to write obituaries for Indian democracy.

Thousands of karsevaks had torn down the disputed structure and reclaimed the Ram Janmabhoomi on December 6, 1992. AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi, who had earlier called upon Muslims to not lose disputed structures at any cost, labelled it as ‘Black Day for Indian democracy.’

He claimed, “The desecration and demolition of Babri Masjid is a symbol of injustice. Those responsible for its destruction were never convicted. We will not forget it & we will ensure that future generations remember it too.”

Independent ‘journalist’ Asad Rizvi wrote, “It was the darkest day in the history of independent India and will always remain a blot on India’s secular fabric.”

Asma Zehra Tayeba, the President of the Shariah Committee of Hyderabad, tweeted, “We shall not forget. And We will remember this day.’Yaume Shahadat’.Masajid are centre markaz of the Muslim community. Fall of Babri masjid and conditions of Muslims in last 30 yrs need introspection.”

She also tweeted a poster of the disputed structure with the caption “Babri Masjid – Fallen shall rise.”

‘Activist’ Khalida Parveen also dubbed the reclamation of the Ram Janmabhoomi by the karsevaks as ‘black spot on Indian democracy.’ “State has utterly failed to safegaurd the rights of its minority. 6th dec reminds Sabar of Indian Muslims and the Death of Indian Democracy,” she made sweeping claims.

Lawyer-cum-Muslimah Noor Mahvish tweeted, “Babri Masjid was not just a mosque- it had history engraved on it. And on December 6, 1992, its demolition by Hindu Kar Sevaks raised a question about India’s future as a secular nation. 30 years of Babri demolition, We will never forget, We never forgive.”

Radical Islamist outfit, Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) also claimed, “December 6: The darkest day in the history of independent India.”

Opindia had earlier reported how several Muslim Twitter users were trending hashtags such as ‘Babri Zinda Hai, ‘6 December’, ‘Babri Masjid’, etc on Twitter to post hateful comments against the Hindu community.

Former diplomat, Kanwal Sibal, had lambasted a journalist for fantasising about the collapse of the Indian State. “How can any serious journalist embrace such thinking? “We” is a coterie which wanted the nation to collapse along with Babri structure & 30 years later feels cheated it didn’t happen,” he wrote.

“India is doing well & it is the strategy of those who hoped for its collapse that’s in ruins,” Sibal emphasised.

On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court of India favoured Ram Lalla Virajmaan and handed over the disputed land to the Hindus in its landmark judgment. The court had asked the central government to form a trust that will take over the construction of Bhavya Ram Mandir.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was formed in February 2020. On August 5 of that year, Bhoomipujan was performed at Ram Janmabhoomi to begin the construction of the temple in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other leaders and saints.

The construction of the temple is expected to complete by December 2023.

Indonesia bans sex outside marriage, live-in relationships, and insulting the president

0

On December 5, Indonesia banned sex outside marriage, and live-in relationships, insulting the Indonesian President and expressing views counter to state ideology. Reportedly, the new law passed by the Indonesian government is a partially watered-down version of an earlier version of the bill. As per the new law, sex outside marriage and live-in relationships can only be reported by people related to the offenders such as spouses, parents, or children.

The critics, however, believe that it could be used to police the morality of the people living in the country. Notably, Indonesia is the largest Muslim-majority nation in the world. In recent years, there have been reports on the rise of religious conservatism in the country. Reports suggest that the law may apply to foreigners as well which would directly impact tourists and visitors to the country. Notably, Bali is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. Though adultery was already banned in the country, premarital sex was not banned by law.

Furthermore, the laws passed by the government banned insulting the president and the state institutions, blasphemy, protesting without notification, and promoting views that are against the state’s ideology. The critics believe that such restrictions under the new law will become a threat to freedom of expression and association.

Critics have suggested that some Sharia or Islamic law-inspired local bylaws could get replicated in other areas which would lead to discrimination against women and the LGBT community in the country. It is notable that though the new laws would apply to both the citizens in Indonesia and foreigners alike, they will not come to force for another three years as per the guidelines.

Recently, Indonesia successfully hosted the G20 summit. However, the new laws might affect the position of the country on the global stage. It may also affect the image of the country as an investment destination and tourist spot.

Deputy chief of Indonesia’s tourism industry board Maulana Yusran said in a statement, “We deeply regret that the government has closed their eyes. We have already expressed our concern to the ministry of tourism about how harmful this law is.” Deputy chairperson of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (APINDO) Shinta Widjaja Kamdani expressed concerns that the new laws would do more harm than good.

The bill was first tabled in 2019 leading to mass street protests across the nation over concerns of a threat to civil liberties. Following the protests, President Joko Widodo stepped in and shelved the bill. Recently, some of the provisions in the bill were revised to silence the criticism. However, critics believe the changes were merely a whitewash and called it a “huge setback” to the young democracy in the country.

Interestingly, the new laws have gotten support from all parties in the parliament. Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly told the parliament, “It’s not easy for a multicultural and multi-ethnic country to make a criminal code that can accommodate all interests,” as an attempt to silence the criticism.

It is noteworthy that the population of Indonesia comprises Muslims, Hindus, Christians, and people of other faiths with Muslims being the majority community. In recent years, the Muslim community, which largely practised a moderate version of Islamic values, has become religiously conservative to a large extent and it has affected the political scenario of the archipelago.

Bhagalpur police, state govt trying to hush up the killing of Neelam Yadav by ‘habitual offender’ Shakeel Miyan, alleges BJP leader Nikhil Anand

0

A day after it was reported that a man named Shakeel Miyan brutally stabbed and chopped off body parts of a married woman named Neelam Yadav in broad daylight in the middle of a busy market area in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district on Saturday, December 3, 2022, BJP leader and state spokesperson Nikhil Anand slammed the state machinery for covering up the incident.

In a video message posted on Twitter, the BJP leader condemned the barbaric killing the woman from the Yadav community. He accused the Bhagalpur police of sheltering the perpetrator Shakeel Miyan, by twisting the facts.

Nikhil Anand alleged that the Bhagalpur police, under pressure from the state administration, are erroneously saying that the deceased’s husband took a loan from the accused and when he refused to return it, the latter committed the crime in a fit of wrath. This, according to the BJP leader, was done to divert attention away from the underlying motivation of the crime, which was clearly communal and stemmed from the perpetrator’s jihadi mindset.

The BJP leader Tweeted, “The Bhagalpur police is misleading the murder case of an OBC Yadav community woman by a Muslim man. The SP is presenting a hypothesis under the pressure from the state govt. It is a clear-cut case on communal lines with the Fundamentalist Talibani mindset.”

In the video, the BJP leader can be heard saying that the police and the state administration are trying to divert and hush up the killing of the OBC Yadav community woman Neelam Devi. He accused the police and the administration of protecting the criminals by not revealing their identities, photographs and backgrounds in the public domain. Despite knowing that they have a past criminal background, the police never booked them and now the police are trying to save them.

The BJP leader further levelled some serious allegations against the Bhagalpur SP saying that he has shared theory that the victim took a loan from the accused. This, the BJP leader maintained is a baseless theory and clearly devised to save the accused as the family members and neighbours of the victim have clearly denied this charge.

Shakeel Miyan brutally stabs a Hindu woman in Bihar’s Bhagalpur area, cuts her ears, breasts and hands in full public view

The BJP spokesperson went on to say that local women have corroborated that the accused is a habitual criminal who has a history of harassing Hindu women in the village. The BJP leader stated that he was convinced that the crime was committed with a Talibani mindset, but the Bhagalpur police and the state government were busy providing a hypothesis to divert attention away from the actual issue.

On December 5, OpIndia reported how a 42-year-old married woman named Neelam Yadav was stabbed and chopped into pieces in broad daylight in the middle of a market area on Saturday, December 3, 2022, by a person named Sheikh Shakeel Miyan.

According to reports, the accused brutally stabbed the woman to death and cut off her hands, legs, ears and breasts before fleeing the crime scene. It is being said that Shakeel was miffed after Neelam Yadav’s husband had forbidden him from visiting their house. Shakeel Miyan was so enraged by this that he attacked his friend’s wife when she was returning home from the busy market area on Saturday.

Shakeel first struck Neelam Yadav on the back of the head. When she collapsed, he stabbed her numerous times in the head, back, and stomach with a sharp weapon. He then cut Neelam’s Yadav ears, hands, legs, and breasts off before running away.

According to the deceased’s husband, his and the accused Shakeel Miyan’s fields were adjacent to each other, which is why Shakeel Miyan frequented his residence. Ashok Yadav suspected Shakeel Miyan of having evil intentions toward his wife. He also said that Shakeel was hot-headed and often indulged in unnecessary arguments and fights with the villagers, therefore he asked him to stop visiting his home. This enraged Shakeel, who then carried out the heinous act.

Pune: Converted Christian beat wife for 21 years to force her to convert to Christianity, threatened to shift children to a Christian school, booked

0

In a shocking case, the Maharashtra Police registered an FIR against a Christian individual identified as Ravindersingh Bhanwarsingh Rajpurohit for harassing and physically abusing his wife for 21 years and forcing her to convert to Christianity. The FIR was filed against the accused on December 3 at Yerwada Police Station in Pune.

According to the reports, Ravindersingh Bhanwarsingh Rajpurohit, a resident of the Yerwada area of Pune city had quit his religion and accepted Christianity 21 years ago. Since then, he physically and mentally harassed his wife and even her parents and children to convert to Christianity. The complaint further mentioned that the accused wanted the children to attend a Christian school. The woman stated that both her children study in a reputed school in Pune and that their studies are getting impacted due to the stressful environment at home caused by the accused. The case has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the law. Further investigations are underway.

Hindu Mahasabha leader detained during bid to recite Hanuman Chalisa at Shahi Idgah Masjid in Mathura

0

On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh police detained an Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha representative while he, along with other members of the organization, was going to recite Hanuman Chalisa at the Shahi Idgah Masjid located in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi complex. The Police stated that 7-8 other leaders of the organization have also been detained at their homes across the city.

According to the reports, the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha had called for a recital of Hanuman Chalisa within the Shahi Idgah Masjid to commemorate the demolition of the Babri Mosque. “The Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha’s Agra region in-charge Saurabh Sharma was arrested when he was attempting to go towards the Idgah mosque on the complex,” confirmed Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Martandey Singh.

He stated that the Mahasabha’s president, Rajshri Chaudhary, and treasurer, Dinesh Sharma, were not among the others detained at their houses and that the police had no details on the two. The Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha wanted to commemorate the ‘Shaurya Diwas’ on the 30th anniversary of the demolition of the disputed structure of Babri Masjid at Ram Janmabhoomi. On December 6, the disputed structure in Ayodhya was brought down by Hindu activists in 1992.

This morning, security had been beefed up in the city of Mathura after Hindu Mahasabha announced the decision to recite Hanuman Chalisa at the Idgah on Tuesday. The police force was deployed at the spot, and drone cameras were set up to keep an eye on the situation.

According to the India Today report, the Police also detained people belonging to different communities on the evening of December 5 as a precaution, to maintain the law and order situation in the city. Shailesh Kumar Pandey, Senior Superintendent of Police, stated that the law and order situation would not be jeopardized. “Social media is also being closely monitored,” he said.

The SSP had said on Monday that no new tradition or ritual would be allowed to be performed. “The orders of the Supreme Court would be followed and the implementation of prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC in letter and spirit would be ensured,” he was quoted.

Earlier on December 2, the Mathura city magistrate had issued bailable warrants against 16 people linked with a Hindu outfit amid their call to recite the Hanuman Chalisa inside Shahi Idgah mosque. “No permission has been sought by any organisation and cases have already been registered against two people so far for attempting to gather a crowd for the event,” Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Martandey Singh had said.

Last year, the organization had issued a similar call, but their plans were thwarted by the district administration. “We were not prepared in 2021 as it was the first time. Our activists were targeted heavily by the police, and thus, the venue was changed and ‘Jal Abhishek’ was conducted at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. We are more prepared this time and activists have been asked to protect themselves,” ABHM national president Rajshri Chaudhary was quoted as saying.

Aligarh man has been in jail for 7 years, the woman he was accused of killing found alive, living with husband and children

0

In 2015, a minor woman in Aligarh was reported missing after visiting a temple. After some days of the incident, a dead body was found. A person named Vishnu was accused of killing the girl. Since 2015, Vishnu has been in jail in Aligarh. As per reports, the girl he was accused of killing has been found alive recently.

The girl is now reportedly married and was found living with her husband and 2 children. After Vishnu’s family flagged the issue and demanded his release from jail, the police restarted the investigation. The girl has been taken into custody.

On 17 February 2015, a 17-year-old girl’s father filed a police complaint in Aligarh stating that his daughter has been missing after she went to a local temple. An FIR was lodged in the case against unknown persons under IPC sections 363 and 366.

On 24 March 2015, the police had found the dead body of an unknown girl. The missing girl’s family had identified the body saying it was their missing daughter. The family had named Vishnu, a fellow villager from Dhanthauli and accused him of kidnapping her, saying that she was last seen with him. Vishnu was arrested under IPC sections 302, and 201 for killing the girl and trying to eliminate evidence.

The charge sheet against Vishnu in the murder case was filed in December 2015. Sub Inspector Khalid Khan was the investigator in the case. After spending over 2 years in jail, Vishnu Gautam was granted bail in 2017.

However, the girl’s family had requested the court to send Vishnu back to jail. And he was sent back to jail after the trial in the case began.

In the meanwhile, Vishnu’s mother was trying to gather evidence to prove her son’s innocence. After searching a lot, she eventually got to know that the missing girl is alive and is living in Agra all this while. After confirming the girl’s identity, Vishnu’s mother sought help from some Hindu activists in Aligarh and approached SSP Kalanidhi Naithani. The SSP ordered immediate action and the girl, now a married woman was arrested from the Hathras gate area, in the village of Nagla Chokha. DSP Raghavendra Singh informed that the woman’s DNA will be tested to confirm her identity.

As per the latest reports in the case, a special POCSO court has ordered the DNA test of the woman.

Vishnu’s mother has reportedly stated that the girl’s family is now trying to force her to ‘compromise’ in the case.
