West Bengal: Son of BJP worker found dead, body hung from a tree in East Medinipur district

Two days after a BJP member named Arjun Chowrasiya was found hanging in West Bengal’s Cossipore, son of a BJP worker has suffered the same fate in East Medinipur district.

According to the reports, the 22-year-old Debashish Manna was found hanging from a tree in Khejuri, East Medinipur. Debashish is the son of a BJP booth worker Muktipada Manna.

The local BJP leadership has accused Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress of the death of Debashish Manna. However, the West Bengal police claim that Manna might have committed suicide.

“The family has not lodged a complaint yet. We will investigate if we receive a formal complaint,” police said.

Shockingly, Debashish Manna was found dead on the same day as Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to West Bengal. Union Home Minister Amit Mishra had visited the state amidst the ongoing political killings in the state. During his visit, Amit Shah had accused Mamata Banerjee-led government of promoting a culture of political violence and political murder.

Amit Shah also visited the residence of Arjun Chowrasia, who was found hanging in the Ghosh Bagan area inside an abandoned building in Cossipore.

On Saturday morning, the 26-year-old Chowrasiya, who had made all the arrangements for a bike rally to welcome Home Minister Shah to the state, was found hanging in an abandoned rail quarter in the Cossipore area. He was supposed to lead more than 200 bikes in the rally.

Tajinder Bagga gets relief from arrest by Punjab and Haryana HC in midnight hearing: Here are the events leading up to the court verdict

On Saturday (May 7) late night, the Punjab and Haryana High Court granted protection to BJP Delhi spokesperson Tajinder Bagga from arrest till May 10 in connection to the case registered against him by the Punjab police.

An urgent hearing of the case was held at the residence of Justice Anoop Chitkara in Chandigarh. The BJP leader was represented by advocates Mayank Aggarwal and Anil Mehta.

Tajinder Bagga informed the court that the case against him was the result of a political vendetta. His counsel stated that the custody of the BJP leader was not required for investigation, given that the evidence (which formed the basis of the case) was electronic in nature.

Bagga added that he has deep roots in the society and was not a ‘flight risk.’ On hearing the counsel for the BJP leader, Justice Chitkara provided interim relief to him.

While speaking about the matter, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa tweeted, “High Court has stayed the arrest of Tajinder Bagga. This is again a victory of good over evil. Once again, the nefarious agenda of vengeful Kejriwal and his stooges in the police department have failed.”

Mohali Court issued warrant against Tajinder Bagga

The BJP spokesperson had moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court after the Judicial Magistrate of SAS Nagar in Mohali, Ravtesh Inderjit Singh, issued an arrest warrant against him.

The court had directed the police to arrest Bagga and produce him before it.

The Mohali court stated in its order, “Keeping in view the contents of the application & the fact that sufficient opportunities have already been granted to the accused to join the investigation and despite that accused has failed to join the investigation.”

“It is necessary in the interest of justice, to issue nonbailable warrants for accused Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, who is evading arrest, in order to facilitate the investigation,” the order emphasised.

Earlier, in a high voltage drama on Friday, Tajinder Bagga was arrested by Punjab Police from his home without due process, which led to a case of kidnapping against Punjab Police.

Bagga immediately through his counsel moved to the Dwarka Court. His plea mentioned that he was being taken by some unknown persons. The Delhi Police, therefore, swung into action after the Court ordered his production. The Delhi Police informed the Haryana Police who stopped the Punjab police from taking Bagga to Punjab.

Earlier, Punjab Police had registered an FIR against Tajinder Bagga for his criticism of Arvind Kejriwal after the Delhi CM mocked ‘The Kashmir Files’ movie during the budget session of the Delhi assembly calling it a jhoothi film. The film depicts the sufferings of the Kashmiri Hindus during the genocide they suffered in Kashmir in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Khalistan flags placed by suspected ‘Punjab tourists’ appear on Himachal Pradesh Assembly gates

On Sunday morning, Khalistan flags were found tied to the main gate and boundary wall of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Dharamshala.

As reported by news agency ANI, SP Kangra, Khushal Sharma said that the placement of flags might have happened late night on Saturday or early morning on Sunday. The flags have since been removed. “It could be an act of some tourists from Punjab,” he said and added that a case will be registered today.

Khalistani elements in Himachal Pradesh

Last week, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Himachal Pradesh social media president Harpreet Singh Bedi had deleted his Twitter account after his pro-Khalistan and secessionist tweets hailing Bhindranwale had gone viral on social media. Prior to that, in March 2022, Himachal Pradesh had banned entry of vehicles carrying flags of Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Many cars coming from Punjab were spotted with flags and images of Bhindranwale.

In July 2021, during the so-called farmer protest around Delhi border, as many as 20 journalists from Himachal Pradesh got a threatening pre-recorded calls from pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). The caller identifying himself as Gurpatwant Singh Pannun from the US, the general counsel for SFJ, warned that Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur should not be allowed to hoist the tricolour on Independence Day.

Khalistani elements claim parts of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, which formed part of Greater Punjab till 1966, as part of ‘Khalistan’, an idea supported by ISI backed separatists. They want to ‘liberate’ Himachal Pradesh and Haryana and ‘merge’ into ‘Khalistan’.

‘Which party wants to ally with Congress?’ TRS leader KT Rama Rao ridicules Rahul Gandhi’s comment that Congress won’t ally with TRS in Telangana

After Rahul Gandhi said that Congress will not an alliance with TRS in Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samiti’s working president KT Rama Rao ridiculed Rahul Gandhi’s remarks and gave him a befitting reply. KT Rama Rao said that no political party in India wants to ally with Congress now, listing the scams done during Congress regime.

He said on Saturday 7th May 2022, “Congress is actually ‘Scamgress’. It has been involved in scams starting from the skies and ending deeper as ‘Paataal’. Augusta Westland, a helicopter flying in the sky, in which they did a scam. Spectrum waves in the air, there was also a scam by Congress. This is a hapless party caught up in the scams of coals which are found underground.” KT Rama Rao has made this statement while addressing farmers and his party workers in Warangal.

KT Rama Rao further said, “Congress has a list of scams from A to Z. A for Adarsh Scam (in Maharashtra, 2010), B for Bofors Scam (when Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister in 1987), C for Commonwealth Scam (in 2010) and so on.”

Rahul Gandhi is on his Telangana tour where while addressing his party workers he threw heavy criticism on the Telangana Rashtra Samiti which is the ruling party in Telangana state. Rahul Gandhi shared the stage with the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee head Revanth Reddy. Taking a jibe at this, KT Rama Rao said, “They are speaking of making a prosperous country while sitting beside the Pradesh Congress Committee person who is accused of the note-for-vote case. They buy MLAs at a rate of rupees 50 lakhs each. Rahul Gandhi should be aware of what he is talking about, and where and in front of whom, he is talking. When Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister, who had the remote control? Rahul Gandhi’s mother had the remote control. The UPA chairperson had more powers than the Prime Minister. The AICC is not the All India Congress Committee; it is rather the All India Crisis Committee. It is the same Rahul Gandhi who had dared to discard an ordinance in a press conference.”

Rahul Gandhi had denied any possibility of going into an alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti. Slamming the remarks of Rahul Gandhi, KT Rama Rao said, “Today, which party in the country is interested to be in alliance with Congress. There is none. Congress says that it is a pro-farmer party. If it is really one, then why did they lose in Punjab? TRS has performed better for farmers in the state. So much so that the parliament has been a witness to the report by the National Crime Records Bureau which says that Telangana is one of the states having the least percentage of farmer suicides. What Rahul Gandhi is promising now, we have already delivered better than his promises. Congress did not give us a separate state. We have fought and earned it. Congress is an incapable party. They cannot deliver what we have already had.”

Earlier Rahul Gandhi had criticized TRS while speaking in Hyderabad. He said, “Telangana is ruled not by a CM, but by a Raja who doesn’t listen to the voice of the people. When Congress forms government, we guarantee farmers: – ₹15,000 per acre direct transfer – ₹2 lakh loan waiver – Fair and accurate MSP.”

Rahul Gandhi also tweeted, “KCR has single-handedly destroyed the dream the people of Telangana and Sonia Ji had when statehood was granted. I welcome the youth, who believe in the ideology of the Congress, to join us in our mission to defeat TRS and build a glorious Telangana.”

Punjab: CBI raids Aam Aadmi Party MLA Jaswant Singh in connection with Rs 40 crore bank scam, recovers 94 signed blank cheques

On Saturday 7th of May, a CBI team carried out raids at the properties linked to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra in connection with an alleged bank fraud of Rupees 40 crores. The raids were conducted at 3 separate locations in Sangrur and Malerkotla.

The searches were conducted in connection with the case against the Amargarh MLA over a complaint lodged by Bank of India, Ludhiana branch. During the searches, the CBI team recovered 94 blank cheques signed by different signatories and several Aadhar cards.

Sharing details about the raids, the CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said, “Cash worth Rs 16.57 lakh (approx), around 88 foreign currency notes, some property documents, several bank accounts, and other incriminating documents were found and recovered during searches.”

Explaining the nature of the fraud, Joshi added, “The borrower firm was sanctioned loans at 4 intervals from 2011-2014 by the Bank. It was further alleged that the firm through its Directors had concealed hypothecated stock and diverted book debts with malafide and dishonest intention so that the same was not made available to the creditor Bank for inspection and for effecting recovery as a secured creditor. An alleged loss of Rs. 40.92 Crore(approx) was caused to the Bank.”

The case was registered against Jaswant Singh, Tara Corporation Ltd (renamed as Malaudh Agro Ltd.) based at Gaunspura, Tehsil- Malerkotla, and others. The AAP MLA was a director and guarantor in the accused company. Jaswant Singh’s brothers Balwant Singh and Kulwant Singh, and nephew Tejinder Singh are also accused in the case.

Kejriwal’s claim of ending corruption in Punjab takes a blow

Soon after winning the assembly elections in March and forming the government in Punjab, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal claimed that his party has ended corruption in Punjab within 10 days. However, that claim can not be taken seriously right now with even the party’s MLAs getting embroiled in large-scale fraud cases.

Jaswant Singh had earlier made news when he announced that he will only take Rupee 1 as salary during his MLA tenure, and will not take any pension.

Bollywood entertainer Swara Bhasker shares the stage with people behind anti-India propaganda during her USA trip

During her recent trip to the United States, Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker met with activists associated with an outfit named ‘Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR).’ Following her meeting with the organisation’s co-founder Sunita Vishwanath on May 5, the actress thanked her for a wonderful evening.

“Was inspiring to be in a room full of committed activists…Important to stand up for human rights and speak against injustice whenever we are…onward and upward!” she had tweeted.

Hindus for Human Rights and its active involvement in anti-India propaganda

Earlier on April 25 this year, Investigating Info-warfare and Psy-war OSINT Disinfo Lab had informed that the ‘Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR)’ had been promoting the misleading narrative of ‘Hindu Vs Hindutva’. The same organisation was also seen endorsing the ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva’ event.

As per Disinfo Lab, HfHR was formed in the year 2019 by two Islamist advocacy groups named Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) and the Organization for Minorities of India (OFMI). Interestingly, the three organisations had formed another outfit called the Alliance for Justice and Accountability (AJA).

As per an article in The Hindu, the Alliance for Justice and Accountability had been at the forefront of leading demonstrations against the visit of PM Modi to Houston on September 22, 2019.

“The AJA comprises of Hindu, Muslim, Dalit, Sikh and Christian groups, among others. They include the Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR), a progressive Hindu group that opposes Hindutva; the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC); and the Organization for Minorities of India (OFMI),” the article read.

According to Disinfo Lab, the co-founder of Hindus for Human Rights also runs an organisation named ‘Women for Afghan Women’, which is funded by the Soros Open Society Foundation. Last year, OpIndia reported in detail how George Soros had been fuelling a dangerous anti-India narrative through media and ‘civil society.’

Sunita Vishwanath, who was pictured alongside Swara Bhasker recently, had tried to create hysteria and panic among Indian Muslims about the National Register of Citizens (NRC)

“We are especially appalled by the most recent nightmare of the Kashmiri people, and the situation of 1.9 million people in India who are rendered stateless due to the imposition of the travesty called the National Register of Citizens.”

HfHR’s founding member Raju also heads EKTA. It is an associate organization of IAMC. The sole purpose was to have Hindus on the panel to project that the Hindus, in general, were against Hindutva. Interestingly, HfHR ran Facebook ads to promote previous USCIRF reports.

Swara Bhasker spotted with Polis Project founder

The Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker also caught up with Suchitra Vijayan, who happens to be the Founder of the Polis Project. While endorsing her book ‘Midnight Borders’, the actress tweeted, “In-flight reading sorted thanks to Suchitra. Thank you Suchitra and fab meeting you.”

Screengrab of the tweet by Swara Bhasker

A casual look at Suchitra’s Twitter timeline shows her political antecedents. In a recent post, she was seen batting for the release of riot-accused Umar Khalid. However, there is one aspect of her work, which is still shrouded in obscurity.

According to Disinfo Lab, the Facebook page of the Polis Project has a Pakistan-based admin, even though her entire propaganda work is based on India. The OSNIT also stated that ‘The Polis Project’ is regularly featured in events of Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC).

While Swara Bhasker is known for her anti-Modi rhetoric’s and anti-government agenda, she has upped the ante and now joined hands with the anti-India forces in the USA. Although the actress tried to downplay her meetup with Sunita Vishwanath and Suchitra Vijayan, it is quite evident that there is more to it than what meets the eye.

OFMI and Khalistani links

The Organization for Minorities of India (OFMI), with links to HrHR, was formed by Bhajan Bhinder, a Khalistani ISI handler, along with Khalistani supporter Pieter Friedrich. Notably, Pieter’s role was exposed during Farmer Protests, and it was revealed that he was on security agencies’ radar for a long time.

As per a 2003 report in East Bay Express, Bhinder and his accomplice Gurtej Singh met with an undercover agent posing as a weapon dealer to purchase assault weapons and shoulder-fired missiles for the Free Khalistan movement.”

The report added, “Bhinder allegedly said the weapons would travel via yacht to Pakistan. They would then move overland by truck into India, where members of the Free Khalistan movement would receive them. Bhinder, the declaration said, would pay half of the money when he got the weapons and the other half when the shipment arrived in India.”

Disinfo Lab mentioned that another front linked to these organizations and individuals was Equality Labs Thenimozhi Soundararajan. Earlier, they flaunted OFMI and Bhinder’s names on their website, but after Disinfo Lab’s earlier expose, they removed his name.

Mathura: Married Pappu Khan kills his married girlfriend Dolly with an axe after inviting her for Eid

In another grooming jihad case, a man named Pappu Khan killed his girlfriend Dolly with an axe in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura on Friday 6th May 2022. It is being reported that Dolly and Pappu Khan were both married with different spouses, but they had been living away from their homes in a live-in relationship with each other for the last one and a half years in the Shivnagar Colony area. On Friday, after a fight with Dolly, the accused committed the brutal incident. He then fled the house. People came to know about the murder the next morning. The case is now registered at the Govindpuri police station.

According to a report by Amar Ujala, 11 years ago, Dolly (age 32) was married to Shankar Lal, a resident of Khatik Pada in Hariparvat, Agra. But for the last one and a half years, her husband had broken up with her and she was living with Pappu Khan in Shivnagar. On the occasion of Eid, Pappu Khan took her with him to his village Jalalpur, where Pappu Khan’s wife opposed this relationship and there was a verbal fight between them. The wife used to constantly fight with Pappu over this. At the same time, Dolly constantly put pressure on him to get married. In such a situation, Pappu Khan, a driver by profession, went to the house late at night on Friday and carried out the brutal murder of Dolly.

The next morning Dolly’s body was spotted by her sister Geeta. Seeing the blood-soaked body, Geeta screamed out of fear. Hearing her screams, people around gathered. The police were then notified. After investigating the case, the police came to know that Pappu Khan killed Dolly due to the pressure of marriage. Now the police have deployed three teams to find the killer. The accused Pappu Khan is the father of four children and the deceased Dolly is also the mother of two children. For the last one and a half years, the two had left their homes and lived together in Shivnagar.

Some time ago, Dolly’s sister Geeta also came with her husband Deviram and children and started living with them. Deviram drives an e-rickshaw. Deviram said, “There was no such thing till 12 o’clock on Thursday night. But what happened after that, no one knows. When we woke up in the morning and saw the body, we were stunned.”

Geeta said that Pappu was with them till late on Thursday night, but it was not known where he had gone after that. According to Geeta, Pappu Khan murdered Dolly. Investigation revealed that the accused is the driver of the car of Anil Sharma, a resident of Chowk Bazar. Anil Sharma’s plot is in front of Birla Temple. He had left Pappu Khan there to look after his house. At first, Pappu used to live there alone. Later he started living with Dolly, pretending that she is her wife.

As Pfizer releases more than 80000 pages on its Covid-19 vaccine, claims about it flood social media: Here are the facts

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has started publishing documents related to its m-RNA Covid-19 vaccine and the trials of the vaccine. The first batch of over 80,000 pages of documents were released on May 2, triggering many information and mis-information being spread about the vaccine on social media.

While the over 80,000 pages of the document contain mostly raw data related to the vaccine and its trial, the company had also released a 53-page briefing document in December last year. According to this document, the efficacy of the BNT162b2 vaccine made by Pfizer is found to be 95%, which was already reported earlier. The document says that the vaccine is largely safe for population of all age groups, except some common side effects which go way with time.

In the clinical trial for the vaccine, 18198 participants had received the Pfizer vaccine, while 18325 participants had received placebo. This 95% efficacy is found a week after the second dose of the vaccine is taken. The efficacy is less before that, which is only 52% during the three weeks between the first and second dose.

The 95% efficacy rate is based on the finding that among the 18198 people who had received the vaccine, 8 among them had tested positive for Covid-19 a week after the second dose of the vaccine, compare to 162 people testing positive in the placebo group.

The Pfizer vaccine efficacy report

The vaccine efficacy (VE) is calculated on the basis positive cases found in both the vaccine group and the placebo group, and the formula for its calculation is- (placebo group positive – vaccine group positice)/ placebo group positive x 100%. Therefore, the VE for the Pfizer vaccine will be calculated as – (162-8)/162 x 100%, which is 95%.

The document also discusses adverse effects of the vaccine in detail, and it shows that majority of the recipients experienced some kinds of side effects of the doses. The most common solicited adverse reactions were injection site reactions (84.1%), fatigue (62.9%), headache (55.1%), muscle pain (38.3%), chills (31.9%), joint pain (23.6%), fever (14.2%). However, these effects were mild, and only maximum of 4.6% participants experienced severe adverse reactions.

However, the document notes that the occurrences of the severe adverse effects are not more than the rate of occurrence seen in general population, therefore they could not be linked to the vaccine.

Claims about the documents and the facts

After the documents regarding the Pfizer vaccines were released, several claims are being made about it, which have turned out to be false. The most common claim is that the document reveals that the actually vaccine efficacy of the Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine is 12%, not 95. However, this claim is completely false and baseless.

The 12% VE claim was first made by journalist Sonia Elijah on a substack post. Citing a para from page 42 of the FDA briefing document, she had calculated the VE to be 12%. The para referred to by her says, “Among 3410 total cases of suspected but unconfirmed COVID-19 in the overall study population, 1594 occurred in the vaccine group vs. 1816 in the placebo group.”

Taking 1594 and 1816 as positive cases in the vaccine group and the placebo group, she had calculated the VE as 12%, using the same formula shown above – (1816-1594)/1816 x 100%. However, this is a wrong calculation, because the numbers 1594 in vaccine group and 1816 in placebo does not represent positive Covid-19 cases in both the groups, as claimed by Elijah. These numbers actually refer to “suspected but unconfirmed” cases. This means, this shows number of people showing symptoms which are similar to Covid-19 symptoms, but the Covid-19 was not confirmed by PCR tests.

As Covid-19 symptoms include common symptoms like fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, loss of taste/smell, diarrhea, and vomiting, mere occurrence of these symptoms does not confirm a positive Covid-19 case, unless they are confirmed by a test.

These symptoms in those participants could have been the result of any other cause or disease, or some of them could be just effects of the vaccine, as many people suffer from fever etc due to vaccines. The document nowhere mentions that the total 3410 cases both the groups had tested positive for Covid-19, they are only suspected but unconfirmed cases. Therefore, these numbers can’t be used to calculate the vaccine efficacy.

Therefore, the claim that real VE of the Pfizer vaccine is 12%, not 95%, is incorrect and is based on wrong interpretation of data.

It is also notable that among the 3410 suspected cases, 409 cases in the vaccine group and 287 cases in the placebo group had occurred within the first 7 days of the first dose of the vaccine. The document says that it could be due to vaccine reactogenicity with symptoms similar to the Covid-19 symptoms. In simple terms, these symptoms could have caused by the vaccine, and not due to Covid-19.

Another interesting point is that these data on suspected but unconfirmed cases is not new, it was already mentioned in the briefing document released in December 2021, it is not something new revealed in the 80,000-page documents.

Similarly, there are claims that the new documents reveal the Pfizer vaccine to be dangerous and not safe. There are claims that the Pfizer has said in the documents that the vaccine is not safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Screenshots purportedly from the documents are being used to make these claims.

But these are also baseless claims, because the screenshot is from an old and British document and not from the Pfizer data. The document seen in the screenshot is from Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), issued in 2020. At that time the Covid-19 vaccine was new, and as with any new drug, the vaccine was also deemed unsafe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

But subsequently MHRA has updated the guidelines, which does not prohibit the vaccine for women during pregnancy and lactation. It now says that there is limited data on the vaccine in pregnant women, but study on animals do not indicate harmful effects on pregnancy. It therefore says, “administration of the COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 in pregnancy should only be considered when the potential benefits outweigh any potential risks for the mother and foetus.”

Tajinder Bagga has injuries on his back and shoulder after his arrest by the Punjab Police: Medical report

On Saturday, the medical report of BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga revealed that he has suffered several injuries on his back and shoulder after his arrest by the Punjab Police. The BJP leader has alleged that he sustained these injuries after the Punjab Police assaulted him during the course of his arrest.

According to the reports, the BJP leader reached home on Saturday morning and said that he would continue to fight the battle against the Punjab Police, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and the Aam Aadmi Party. “Those who believe they can do anything with the help of Police, I want to tell them a BJP worker will not be scared of anyone”, he added thanking the Haryana and Delhi Police for supporting him in the case against the Punjab Police.

“This was an illegal detention. No local police officer was informed about this. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal can register 100 more FIRs against me if he wants to. We will keep fighting until he apologizes for what he said about Kashmiri Pandits,” the BJP leader emphasized on May 7.

After his arrival in Delhi, Bagga was taken for medical tests as part of due procedure, during which the report of the injuries suffered by him came out.

Earlier, in a high voltage drama on Friday, Tajinder Bagga was picked up by Punjab Police from his home without due process, which led to a case of kidnapping against Punjab Police.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court further rejected the Punjab government’s request to keep Bagga in Haryana. After the Delhi police took custody of Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, the Punjab police reached the high court trying to stop the Delhi Police from taking him back to Delhi. Reportedly, the leader was asked to appear before the Metropolitan Magistrate Swayam Siddha Tripathi today. The Court directed the SHO Janakpuri to ensure Bagga’s safety and security.

Punjab court issues arrest warrant against BJP leader Tajinder Bagga for his remark against Arvind Kejriwal, asks police to produce him in court

A day after Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday rejected the Punjab government’s request to keep the Bharatiya Janata Party leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga in Haryana, a local court in SAS Nagar, Punjab has ordered Punjab police to arrest the BJP leader and produce before the court.

The court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Ravtesh Inderjeet Singh of Criminal Courts, SAS Nagar has issued an arrest warrant against BJP leader Tajinder Pal Bagga under IPC sections – 153A, 505, 506. The judge has also directed the Punjab police to produce him before the court.

Arrest warrant issued against Tajinder Bagga

The case against Tajinder Pal Bagga is scheduled to be heard on May 23.

The warrant comes just a day after a high drama in the national capital after the BJP leader was arrested by Punjab police for his remarks against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The reports indicate that 50 policemen in several cars came to arrest Tajinder Bagga from his residence.

The Delhi Police, with the intervention of the Haryana Police, had brought Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga back to Delhi after the Punjab police had picked up Bagga without any proper notice.

An FIR accusing the Punjab Police team of kidnapping Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has also been registered by the Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had rejected the Punjab government’s request to keep the Bharatiya Janata Party leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga in Haryana. After the Delhi police took custody of Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, the Punjab police reached the high court trying to stop the Delhi police from taking him back to Delhi.

A day later, the Punjab police again reached a lower court in SAS Nagar to obtain another warrant to arrest Tajinder Pal Bagga.

The firebrand BJP leader was arrested by Punjab Police on Friday morning for his criticism of Arvind Kejriwal after the Delhi CM mocked the movie – ‘The Kashmir Files’ during the budget session of the Delhi assembly, calling it a jhoothi film
