The Bengaluru school- Orchid International has filed a police complaint against Vikram Simha, the father of the student who accused her teacher of asking the class to pray to ‘better god’ Allah as a punishment for failing to solve a math problem. In its complaint, the school has accused the class 2 student of defaming the school. The school had got involved in a major controversy after one of its teachers allegedly forced students to say Islamic prayers as punishment.

The school, in its complaint, accused the student of causing irreversible damage to the educational institutions and requested the police to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident.

Orchid International School registers a complaint accusing the student of defaming the school

According to the complaint, “A Class 2nd student and the daughter of Vikram Simha, released a video accusing the Orchid International School of pushing a religious agenda. The aforesaid video was discovered by the complainant on January 4th at 02:20 PM, after which the school officials questioned the student about it. The student has admitted to making the video public. In the light of events, the Orchid International School registers a complaint accusing the student of defaming the school. It has caused irreversible damage to educational institutions. Hence, we request you to carry out an investigation on the incident”, read the complaint filed by Orchid International School, Bengaluru.

It may be noted that after OpIndia reported about the incident on January 6, it received an email from one Shaoli Chakraborty on behalf of Orchid International Schools, in which we were informed about the complaint the school has filed against Vikram Simha, the father of the student who spoke against her teacher in the video.

“The school has investigated this matter thoroughly and found out that the allegations are baseless and completely untrue. Currently, we have started legal proceedings against the parents of the kids and an FIR has been lodged for maligning our reputation with false allegations. The incident is now under investigation by local police,” read the email sent to OpIndia by the representative of Orchid International Schools on January 7.

The school shared with us a copy of the acknowledgement of the complaint received by Mico Layout police station (B.T.M.Layout), Bengaluru.

Bengaluru school student alleges teacher forced class to pray to ‘better god’ Allah as punishment

It may be recalled that Vikram Simha had recorded a video of his daughter who said that she was forced to pray in the name of Allah at Orchid International School, BTM branch, Bengaluru. The girl in the video that went viral on social media, said that her teacher asked the Hindu students to make a bowl shape of their hands and pray.

Orchid International School issues statement calling allegations baseless

After the video of the young girl accusing her math teacher in Orchid International School of forcing students to pray in the name of Allah for failing to solve a problem went viral, the school had issued a statement calling allegations made by the child and the parent, baseless. Blatantly denying the allegations, the school maintained that the child in the video was lying and that the teachers at school don’t promote the practice of religion. It further called the act of making a bowl shape with hands the act of eye palming exercise.

“We have checked the CCTV footage of the class and have also spoken to other children. They all have denied the happening of any such incident”, the statement read.

Vikram Simha reveals how school intimidated his child by not allowing to speak

Following the statement, the father of the little girl had posted another video and detailed how the school tried to intimidate his daughter by refusing to let her speak about the incident that happened in the class. He noted that Mrs Manjula, the Principal of the BTM Branch school at Bengaluru, refused to listen to the child.

The girl in the next video had again fearlessly spoken about her teacher named Sarika Rana teaching the students that ‘Allah is a better God’. Further, refuting to the eye exercise claims made by the school, the student said that she did not get confused over the act of making a bowl shape with hands to be the Two Minutes Eye Exercise.

Several BJP leaders and activists have since then come up in support of the child and demanded strict action against the school and the communal teacher.

The Orchid International School, which is managed by St Theresa Educational Cultural and Social Development Society was earlier in news in October 2014 for sexual assault on a 4-year-old kid. According to the reports, the staff was being questioned in the case of assault on a minor girl in the school campus in the city.

Kanhaiya Kumar makes innuendos against Sonia Gandhi, says his ‘choice is young’ when asked about meeting the congress president

When questioned about meeting Congress president Sonia Gandhi in a recent interview with a new YouTube channel, Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar stated that one should consider his age when asking such questions. When asked why, Kanhaiya maintained that his wishes are similar to those of any other young person in the country.

The interview was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Unfiltered with Samdish’ on Friday (January 7). In the 57-minute film, Kanhaiya is questioned about his involvement with the Congress party and whether he still considers himself a communist.

From the long video, a 30-second clip has gone viral over the internet. People are sharing it on Twitter and other social media platforms. Twitter user Ankur Singh (@iAnkurSingh) tweeted the video saying “Kanhaiya when asked about Sonia Gandhi. Imagine the outrage had someone from RW said something like this.”

It can be seen in the video that when asked about his “Khwaahish” (Desire) of meeting Sonia Gandhi, he says “Iss tarah ke sawal aap humari umar dekh ke puchiye” (You must ask such questions considering my age). “Humari khwaahish bhi utni hi jawan hai jitni ek ordinary naujawan ki iss desh mein hai” (My desire is as young as that of an ordinary youth in this country) he added.

While the interviewer had asked Kanhaiya Kumar about meeting Sonia Gandhi as the chief of his party, he certainly had other ideas and took the question differently. He replied that he will meet people only if they are in his age group, and therefore he does not have a desire to meet Sonia Gandhi.

The Congress Love of Kanhaiya Kumar

Former JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar joined the Congress party in September 2021, along with Independent MLA from Gujarat and Dalit activist Jignesh Mevani. The import of these two figures was an attempt to co-opt two anti-BJP faces amid the G-23’s admonition that the Congress has to become more relevant. While Mevani became the face of Gujarat’s Dalit demonstrations in the aftermath of the Una flogging event, Kanhaiya earned notoriety following the anti-national sloganeering incident at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Kanhaiya and Mevani are unlikely to strengthen the party, and if Rahul Gandhi believes they would help resuscitate the Congress party’s prospects, he is gravely incorrect.

Kanhaiya Kumar was defeated decisively by the BJP’s Giriraj Singh in Begusarai during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, and Mevani was elected to the Gujarat Assembly only from a constituency thought to be a Congress bastion. Outside of Twitter, their political tenacity is at test.

Centre on alert after Jaish-e-Mohammed conducted a recce of RSS HQ, Hedgewar Bhavan in Nagpur: What we know so far

0

The Nagpur Police on Friday tightened security around the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters after Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists reportedly conducted a recce of headquarters and the Hedgewar Bhavan in the city. This is after the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF arrested 4 terrorists in Srinagar yesterday, one of whom confirmed to have visited Nagpur for recce.

Nagpur Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said that one of the terrorists identified as Naikoo Imad Nasar had come from Srinagar to Nagpur a month ago and stayed in the city for a few days. “The terrorists had done recce of many important places in the city which include RSS headquarters and Hedgewar Bhavan. The information about the terror plan emerged during the interrogation of a man arrested recently in Jammu and Kashmir”, he added.

It is reported that the arrested terrorist Naikoo is a Shopian resident and a student from Delhi. He had carried out the recce on the directions of Mujahideen Ghazwat-ul Hind (MGH) handlers, an offshoot of the terror outfit, Jaish-E-Mohammad.

Responding to the matter, Maharashtra BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis today said that the matter is serious and needs immediate attention. He, who is also a member of RSS, meanwhile expressed confidence in the central agencies and said that appropriate action will be taken by the authorities.

According to the Police, the JeM terrorists had visited Nagpur in the month of July 2021 and stayed in the city for two days. They had made plans to attack and trigger explosions to target crowded places, markets, as well as the premises of high-profile politicians and security forces ahead of the Republic Day and assembly elections.

In view of the threat, Kumar further informed that the city police has banned photography and the use of drones around the RSS headquarters at Mahal and the Hedgewar Smruti Bhavan, Reshimbagh. “Any drone found within a 2-km radius will either be destroyed or seized by the police. The use of drones in a no-drone zone could also invite legal action”, he added.

It is pertinent to note that the RSS headquarters has been on the radar of terrorists for years. According to the reports, the Police in 2006 had foiled a plot to trigger large scale communal violence with a terror attack on the RSS headquarters. The police then had killed all three heavily armed terrorists suspected to be members of Lashkar-e-Taiba. They had planned the attack with intentions to wipe off the Sangh leadership.

Also in the year 2018, the Bangladesh terror group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen had made attempts to target the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and its affiliates such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Durga Vahini calling them potential enemies and so targets.

Outrage in Varanasi after Indian Army said Sampurnanand Sanskrit University’s degree not valid for Religious Teacher post, VC to meet Rajnath Singh

Students and teachers of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi are outraged after the Indian Army refused to recognise the Shashtri degree for recruitment into the army. While the students from the university were allowed to sit for the entrance examination and their medical examinations were also done, at the last moment they were told that their qualification is not valid, creating a major controversy on the matter.

The matter is related to the recruitment of Junior Commissioned Officer (Religious Teacher) into the Indian Army, the advertisement for which was issued in January last year. The Indian Army had invited applications for the posts of Pandit, Pandit (Gorkha), Granthi, Maulvi (Sunni), Maulvi (Shia), Padre and Both Monk last year, and accordingly, the recruitment process went ahead.

The advertisement mention that the qualification for the post of religious teacher will be Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. In addition to that, candidate for the post of Pandit can be Acharya in Sanskrit or Shastri in Sanskrit with one-year diploma in ‘Karam Kand’. In Sanskrit Universities, the Acharya degree is considered to be equivalent to a post-graduate degree, while the Shastri is equal to a bachelor’s degree.

Relevant portion from the advertisement

The Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi offers these degrees, and accordingly, the qualified students from the University had applied to the Indian Army for the post of religious teachers. While their applications were accepted, their medical examination and the physical verification of their documents were done and admit cards for the written examination were issued, they were not allowed to sit for the exam at the last moment.  Reportedly, the Indian Army rejected their applications saying that their qualification is not valid. Army officials said that the Shastri degree from the university is not equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

This caused a major outrage in the university, and the students have sent a letter to the Prime Minister’s Public Relations Office in Varanasi to address the issue. They marched from the university to the office yesterday to deliver the letter, amid tight police security.

The students say that the UGC has recognised the university’s Shastri degree as equal to a bachelor’s degree, and in the past students from the university has been selected by Indian Army in the same post. Therefore, the decision of the officials to term their degree invalid is not correct, they said. Hindu scholars of Varanasi has also condemned this decision of the Indian Army. They passed a resolution, and sent a letter to the defence minister, asking to revert the decision.

Vice-Chancellor of the university Hare Ram Tripathi has said that he has sought an appointment with defence minister Rajnath Singh to resolve the issue. He said that he has also sent letters to the defence minister, Army chief and the recruitment board of army for a permanent solution of the problem.

He informed that the decision of the Indian Army is wrong as UGC recognises the Shastri and Acharya degrees of the university as equivalent to graduate and postgraduate degrees, and students of the university have been getting selected for the post of religious teacher based on these qualifications.

He said that therefore, he has sought a meeting with Rajnath Singh for a permanent solution to the issue.

In the meanwhile, Sampurnanand Sanskrit University has decided that from now on, they will mention the BA degree along with Shastri degree on both mark sheets and certificates in an effort to resolve the confusion. According to the university, due to the lack of awareness, some organisations tend to reject the degrees of the university as invalid. The university issues Madhyama for High School, Uttar Madhyama for Higher Secondary, Shastri for Graduate and Acharya for Post Graduate qualifications. From now on, the university will mention both versions on the certificates issued to the students.

Maulana Rashidi says Saudi crown prince might be a Jew because he’s allowing liquor and cinema in KSA, repeats threat of Ram Mandir demolition

Maulana Sajid Rashidi, the President of All India Imam Association, on January 7 said that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman or MBS as he is popularly known might be a Jew because he has permitted liquor and cinema in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia(KSA).

The speculation was raised during Rashidi’s interaction with Pakistani journalist Arzoo Kazmi, a video of which has been uploaded on the journalist’s YouTube channel. During the conversation, which touched upon discussions about Indian and Pakistani Muslims, the reality of Jannat, and reforms in Islam, Rashidi said that Saudi crown prince MBS is trying to sway Muslims away from their faith.

MBS might be an offspring of Jew parents, reforms touted by him are ‘haram’ as per Islam: Rashidi

On being asked how MBS is attempting to dilute the puritanical interpretation of Islam in the Kingdom by bringing a slew of reforms, Rashidi stated that the opening of liquor shops, bars and casinos cannot be termed as reforms under Islam. He added that, on the contrary, sanctioning liquor shops, allowing consumption of liquor and gambling is strictly prohibited by Islam and considered haram.

“I want to make no bones about this. The so-called reforms brought about by Mohammed Bin Salman are incompatible with Islam. He should take a leaf out of his ancestors’ books, how they have maintained the dignity of the Kingdom and protected the honour of Islam. Relaxing hijab restrictions, the opening of liquor shops, cinema halls, was inconceivable in erstwhile Saudi Arabia. What can be said about the misfortune of that man who is mulling over opening cinema halls in the holy city of Medina.”

Rashidi then went on to question whether Mohammed Bin Salman is a Muslim or a progeny of Jew parents. “I am doubtful if MBS is truly a Muslim and I won’t flinch from saying that MBS could be a son of Jewish parents. Jews have this pernicious mission of finishing Islam. They are working towards sowing discord among Muslims and causing infighting among us. So, I won’t be surprised if MBS has Jewish ancestry,” Rashidi said.

Islamic cleric claims 9/11 was an imaginary construct created by Jews to subjugate and vilify Muslims

When the Pakistani journalist asks Rashidi his prejudice against the Jews even though they have made splendid contributions to the world, such as the invention of the Internet, breakthrough achievement in medical treatment, the Islamic cleric responds back with another conspiracy theory, stating that the 9/11 twin tower attack was an imaginary construct created by the Jews to defame Muslims and Islam.

“You might be aware of the 9/11 incident. I am going to reveal the truth about it. The incident was carried out by Jews so that they can slander Islam and vilify Muslims over it. 9/11 is not a real-life incident. It is a fabricated one. It was concocted for the express purpose of defaming Muslims,” Rashidi said.

Non-believers have no place in Jannat, only Muslims are allowed entry in heaven: Maulana Sajid

Kazmi also sought Rashidi’s opinion on claims that only Muslims are allowed to enter Jannat and people from other faith, no matter their goodness is not allowed entry into heaven. To this, Rashidi said that one has to be a Muslim to enter Jannat, but that does not guarantee entry into heaven to every Muslim. He further added that non-believers or non-Muslims can never go to heaven because they have not embraced Islam and complied with the edicts of Allah.

Ram Mandir might be demolished by some Mohammad Bin Qasim in future, warns Rashidi

Towards the end of the interaction, Rashidi articulated another mythical fantasy that leftists in India continue to peddle in order to whitewash the crimes of tyrannical Muslim rulers who invaded India. Rashidi said Muslim kings who ruled India in the past were benevolent and secular rulers, who not only built mosques for their Muslim subjects but also built temples and generously donated for the upkeep of existing Hindu religious places.

However, Kazmi sharply pointed out that if what Rashidi is saying was true then the dispute of the Ram Mandir-Babri structure would have never taken place. Responding to Kazmi’s question, Rashidi reiterated his controversial statements on Ram Mandir that he had made after the Supreme Court of India had granted the disputed land to Hindus for the construction of a magnificent Ram Temple in 2019.

“I have said this before which stirred a controversy then but I will repeat it nevertheless. Supreme Court of India made 4 observations while granting the Ayodhya land to Hindus. It had said that there was no proof of a temple underneath the structure. It also said that the idol was illegally kept inside the structure in 1949. The third observation made by the top court was that the demolition of the Babri structure in 1992 was illegal and the last point it said was those responsible for the demolition of the structure should be punished. However, despite all these observations, the Supreme Court invoked the powers granted to it by Section 142 and accorded the land to Hindus,” Rashidi said.

He further added, “I had then said that it has been proven that no temple was demolished for the creation of Babri structure. But it is now proven that a mosque has been razed down for the construction of a Hindu temple. I fear that in future may be a certain Mohammad Bin Qasim will take birth who will demolish the temple and build a mosque over it.”

Rashidi had threatened demolition of Ram Mandir in past

Apparently, Rashidi had made similar controversial remarks against Ram Mandir following the Bhumi pujan of the Ram Temple in August 2020. The president of the All India Imam Association Sajid Rashidi had then said that a mosque will be rebuilt after demolishing the Ram Mandir.

The controversial Islamic cleric also went on to claim that Prime Minister Modi has ‘violated the constitution’ by visiting the Ayodhya temple event. He went on to claim that the land in which the temple is being built belonged to the disputed structure, which according to him was demolished by forces similar to German dictator Adolf Hitler’s forces.

A complaint was later filed against Islamic cleric Maulana Sajid Rashidi – the President of All India Imam Association– for making provocative statements against Hindus and for issuing threats to demolish the under-construction Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

Punjab: 3 operatives of Canada-based Khalistan Tiger Force held in Moga, terror attack on religious place averted

The Punjab Police on Friday arrested three accomplices who were about to execute a planned attack on a religious place and disturb the law and order situation in the city of Moga. According to the Moga Police, the accused had done recce of the religious place and had planned a grenade attack on it.

The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi, of Shadiwala village, Varinder Singh, alias Vinda, of Makhu and Baljeet Singh of Fatehgarh Panjtoor village in Moga district. The Police has recovered 2 hand grenades, 2 pistols, 3 magazines and 18 live cartridges from the three. “Among three, one Gurpreet Sidhu alias Gopi was earlier also involved in the Amritsar tiffin bomb case”, the Moga Police said.

Moga SSP Charanjeet Singh Sohal further informed that the accused wanted to create an atmosphere of fear. “During interrogation, they said that they were in regular touch with Arsh Dala, who provided them the grenades to throw at a religious place. Karnataka: NCB nabs Uganda woman with Rs 1.5 crore worth drugs, had packed in baby food cartons to avoid detection

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested a Ugandan woman at Karnataka’s Hubballi Railway Station on Friday, January 7, as part of a major crackdown on drug trafficking in the state. The department has recovered 995 grams of methamphetamine worth Rs 1.5 crore from the Uganda national.

The drugs were seized from a Ugandan lady’s possession, according to the NCB, based on specific intel. She was travelling with the drugs in a concealed form on a train. To avoid detection, the Uganda national had carefully packed the drugs in two Cerelac baby food carton boxes. Each box contained approximately 500 grams of methamphetamine, said the NCB sleuths.

The drug was sourced from Delhi and was meant to be distributed throughout Karnataka.

With this arrest, the NCB claimed to have effectively neutralised a narcotics syndicate operating in the southern regions in a systematic manner.

In a similar case, Narcotics Control Bureau officials busted a seven-member narcotics gang that operated through many food delivery boys in Bengaluru and Shivamogga and prospered during the lockdown time in October last year. 137 kg of high-grade marijuana packed in paper packets wrapped with adhesive tapes was seized by the department.

A statement released by the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Bengaluru Zonal Unit said it busted the major drug syndicate “operating in a unique and systematic manner and neutralised it by arresting the kingpin.”

NCB busts Sandalwood drug scandal in Karnataka

Similarly, in September last year, the NCB had busted a massive drug scandal in Karnataka involving Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi.

The drug scandal surfaced after the arrest of three individuals M Anoop, Anikha D, and R Ravindra. The Narcotics Bureau of India had busted a drug racket in the city of Bengaluru. The arrests of three drug peddlers had revealed that some prominent musicians, top actors, and children of VIPs had also involved in the drug racket.

Soon after NCB officials busted the drug racket in Bengaluru, popular Kannada director Indrajit Lankesh had made a shocking disclosure regarding the involvement of certain top actors in the drug menace. He had alleged the names of two new actresses had surfaced during an investigation, but they did not question them due to the supposed political connection. Indrajit Lankesh is the brother of journalist Gauri Lankesh, who was shot dead outside her residence three years ago.

Local Gurudwara urged protestors to block highway during PM security breach: Reports

On Wednesday (January 5), the Punjab Police allowed political protestors to block Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy, leaving him stranded for about 20 minutes on a flyover about 30 km away from Hussainiwala. It has now come to light that a local Gurudwara took part in exacerbating the security breach, reported The Tribune.

In its report dated January 6 and titled, ‘PM Modi cancels Ferozepur rally as farmers block flyover; Centre claims security breach’, The Tribune informed how announcements were made by an adjoining Gurudwara urging people to block the Highway.

It added, “…Announcements were made from a nearby gurdwara due to which more farmers reached the spot and the situation turned tense. SPG sleuths then decided to take the PM back to Bathinda as they feared he might get trapped if the protesters blocked the other side of flyover also.”

In a report published by News Track, it cited media reports to claim that more farmers thronged to block the Highway after learning from the local Gurdwara that the Prime Minister was stuck. “Due to the traffic jam, PM Modi’s convoy was stuck on a flyover for 15 to 20 minutes. During this, the announcement of the PM being trapped in this regard was also announced from the nearby gurudwara. Hearing that, more farmers gathered there. Then seeing the security of PM Modi at risk, the SPG team had to decide to remove him from there,” the report emphasised.

Screengrab of the report by News Track

After learning how a Gurudwara reportedly endangered the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National Security Affairs Analyst Divya Kumar Soti suggested the implementation of the Religious Institutions (Prevention of Misuse) Act, 1988. “This act prescribes imprisonment of 5 years for its violation. It was enacted in 1988, in view of Khalistani terrorists occupying and misusing Gurudwaras for anti-national activities,” he informed.

It must be mentioned that the Home Ministry had dubbed the security breach of January 5 as ‘a major lapse’ in the security of the PM. It stated that the PM’s travel plan was communicated well in advance to the state government. The state government is required to make necessary arrangements for security, logistics and also make a contingency plan ready in case of unexpected issues. Currently, the Director-General of Police in Punjab is Siddharth Chattopadhyaya, a 1986 Batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer whose appointment in the post was pushed by current State Congress Chief Navjot Singh Siddhu.

Ministry of Information and Technology blocks social media profiles distributing fake footage of cabinet briefing

Several accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Telegram are reported to have been blocked by the Ministry of Information and Technology (MeitY) for disseminating modified recordings of a cabinet briefing and promoting inappropriate or hostile content.

MeitY stated it had received a number of complaints stating that particular handles, users, and channels were posting inappropriate content and attempting to split communities.

Furthermore, multiple films have been circulating on social media, including the most recent altered footage purporting to depict a cabinet briefing with overlay audio.

In a tweet, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar revealed that 73 Twitter accounts had been suspended, four YouTube videos had been deleted, and one Instagram game had been taken down. The proprietors of these accounts are being identified and will face legal action, and these social media networks’ due diligence will be examined, he added.

Propaganda to divert from PM Modi’s security breach

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) propaganda Twitter handle released a doctored video on Friday (January 7) claiming that the Indian government is intending to remove Sikhs from the Indian army. The news comes amid a standoff between the central government and the Punjab government over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security lapse on January 5 of this year.

“Cabinet Committee on Security Meeting Minister Anurag Thakur, S Jaishankar calls for removal of Sikhs from the Indian army,” according to Anjali Kaur’s Twitter profile (@heyanjaliii). The aforementioned account was established in October of last year and currently has 987 followers. Someone was heard in the video arguing for the removal of all Punjabis from the Indian Army.

Reportedly, the audio belongs to one “Khal”, who had called for the removal of Punjabis from the Indian army during a Clubhouse discussion over alleged bragging by Khalistanis. The audio clip was already being shared on social media slamming the suggestion by many people. But the Pakistanis went ahead and added it to a Cabinet Committee of Security meeting to make baseless allegations against the Modi government.

The original footage was taken on December 9, last year, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level Cabinet Committee meeting in the wake of CDS General Bipin Rawat’s death.

The false account’s allegations were also refuted by the Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) official handle.

“A tweet referring to a viral video claim that in a #Cabinet Committee meeting on Security, there was a call for the removal of Sikhs from the Indian Army. The claim is fake. No such discussion/meeting has taken place”, PIB tweeted.
