Newslaundry columnist Sharjeel Usmani gives communal angle to crime to defame Hindus and ‘Jai Shri Ram’

Sharjeel Usmani, a known Islamist hatemonger, used an unfortunate crime in Haryana to peddle hatred against the Hindu community. As it so happens, the crime, as unfortunate as it was, did not have any communal angle to it.

The Newslaundry columnist said that Hindus who chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ are most likely terrorists.

Source: Twitter

The crime which Sharjeel Usmani used to defame Hindus is suspected to be a case of personal rivalry. One Asif was murdered during a clash between two groups. Only recently, the group Asif was associated with had attacked members of the other group.

Consequently, the other group pulled off a revenge attack during which Asif lost his life. Thus, quite clearly, it does not appear to be motivated by any communal inclinations. However, the allegations that are currently dominating discourse is that the mob that attacked Asif forced him to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

The first witness testimony by Asif’s brother Rashid does not mention any such allegations. He does name some of the accused such as Patwari but ‘Jai Shri Ram’ does not figure in his statement. It is quite a significant detail that does not expect a victim to forget while recording his statement in a video.

Incidentally, ‘Jai Shri Ram’ figured for the first time during the episode in a report by Maktoob Media. “A group of 15 stopped the car and started abusing the passengers. They shouted “maar mulle ko” — Kill Muslims— and lynched Khan,” Asif’s uncle Hasan Khan told Maktoob.

Maktoob, incidentally, has in the past indulged in mischief to peddle propaganda. In the violence at Jamia University episode, Maktoob released a heavily edited video online to cast aspersions at the Delhi Police which was forced to enter the campus to flush out rioters.

The husband of Aysha Renna, Afsal Rahman, is a contributor at Maktoob. Aysha Renna had called India ‘fascist’ for executing Mumbai Blast terrorist Yakub Memon.

According to Supreme Court lawyer Anas Tanwir says that the uncle is not an eyewitness and the eyewitness does not mention ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

Haryana Police has ruled out any communal angle to the crime. According to Police, two cases have been filed against Asif alias Saddu and five against Pradeep alias Patwari, the prime accused in the Asif murder case.

Initial investigation has revealed that Asif is a close aide of BSP leader from Sohna, Javed Ahmed. He is a relative of Congress MLA from Nuh, Chaudhary Aftab Ahmed. Pradeep is a close aide of local BJP leader, Bhalla, who is in turn a close aide of BJP’s Sohna MLA Kanwar Sanjay Singh.

In the village, there are two caste-based groups, one of Zakir caste led by Asif and other of Gurjar caste led by Pradeep. Each have 15-20 members each. About 20 days back, Asif’s group had beaten up members of Pradeep’s group and to avenge the same, Pradeep’s group attacked Asif.

Sharjeel Usmani has a record of instigating communal passions and hatred against the Hindu community. He had earlier celebrated the death of Aaj Tak news anchor Rohit Sardana.

Haryana: Police rules out communal angle in murder of Mewat youth Asif, two groups are old political rivals. Details

Haryana Police has ruled out any communal angle in the murder of Haryana youth Asif, a bodybuilder by profession, on Sunday. As per reports, Asif, along with his two cousins was returning from his sister’s house when he was allegedly attacked by a group of men and was beaten to death.

However, soon after the report of his death poured in, some media houses claimed that he was forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ before being killed, thereby giving it a communal angle.

Maktoob media report

Kerala-based portal Maktoob Media claimed that Asif was ‘forced to chant Jai Shri Ram’ and referred to the religious slogan as ‘warcry of Hindu nationalist militants’. However, Maktoob Media offered no evidence to prove this fact.

In fact, even the initial statement of one of the witnesses said how they were attacked by a group where most men were known to them.

As can be heard, the witness makes no reference whatsoever about the crime being communal.

Now, the Haryana Police has also given a statement and ruled out any communal angle. According to Police, two cases have been filed against Asif alias Saddu and five against Pradeep alias Patwari, the prime accused in Asif murder case.

Mamata Banerjee continues her tradition of sitting on dharna for accused, TMC leaders released on bail

Hours after Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Mamata Banerjee’s ministers Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee and Trinamool Congress MLA Madan Mitra in the Narada case, the West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee gheraoed the CBI office in Kolkata’s Nizam Palace.

According to reports, the party chief who had reached the 15th floor of the Nizam Palace where the CBI has the office of its anti-corruption cell, sat outside on a dharna, protesting the arrest of her minister.

Her spokesperson, lawyer Anindyo Raut told the media persons waiting outside the CBI office, “Didi (Mamata Banerjee) will not leave this CBI office until her party colleagues are released or until she is also arrested.”

The decision taken by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to stage a sit-in outside the CBI office was not surprising, considering her penchant for ‘Dharna politics’.

Recently, Mamata Banerjee was seen painting while siting on dharna at Gandhi Murti in Kolkata, to protest against a 24-hour ban imposed by ECI on her from campaigning from 8 pm of April 12 till 8 pm of April 13.

In February 2019 too she had started her dharna in support of Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar against whom CBI launched a probe in connection with the Saradha scam.

Meanwhile, according to reports, while Mamata Banerjee staged a sit-in outside the 15th floor CBI office, a large number of TMC supporters who protested outside the CBI office over the arrest of its leaders, reportedly, pelted stones on security forces, tried to break barricades and attacked the media vehicles as well.

Since then, the accused TMC leaders have been released on bail.

Twitter flags ‘men cannot get pregnant’ as ‘hate speech’, suspends Spanish politician

Social media behemoth Twitter had last week blocked the official account of Spanish politician Francisco José Contreras for 12 hours after he said “a man cannot get pregnant” because they have “no uterus or eggs.”

Contreras, deputy to Spain’s Vox party, made the comments in response to an article he shared on Twitter about a transgender male who proclaimed he was a father after giving birth to a baby girl.

The Spanish politician on May 11 took to Facebook to share a message he received from Twitter which informed him about the temporary suspension of his Twitter account. The message from Twitter said that Contreras’ tweet had violated its policies on “hate speech”.

In his post, Contreras called out Twitter’s policy of arbitrarily suspending his account. “The hateful tweet (which I was forced to delete) was one that said: “A man cannot get pregnant. A man has no womb or eggs…You can see this is already fascist biology. Next time I’ll try 2 + 2 = 4.”

As per Twitter policies, Contreras flouted its policy related to material that threatens, harasses, or fosters violence against other people on the basis of their race, ethnic origin, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religion, age, disability or disease.

The social media giant also cautioned Contreras that repeated policy violations might lead to a permanent ban. “Keep in mind that repeated defaults may lead to permanent suspension of your account,” Twitter warned. “Go to Twitter now to fix the problem with your account.”

The temporary suspension of Contreras’ Twitter account did not sit well with his supporters, who took to Twitter to trend #AManCannotBePregnant in response.

Speaking against the temporary suspension, Francisco José Contreras told LifeSite News that he will not give in to Twitter’s imposition of a twisted and anthropologically erroneous worldview. “We will continue to speak the truth about human nature. Biological truth should not be regarded as ‘hate speech’. It’s biology, not bigotry,” he said.

This is not the first time that a member of the Vox Party has been suspended by Twitter. Earlier too, Twitter had disabled the official Vox Party account for 24 hours during the country’s elections in January after the group attributed the existing high crime rates to North African immigrants.

Twitter censorship is believed by many to have gone out of control in recent times, a debate that was sparked after incumbent US President Donald Trump was suspended from the platform.

US President Joe Biden approves $735 million weapons sales to Israel amidst tensions with Palestine

As violence between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas escalates, American President Joe Biden has approved the sale of $735 million in precision-guided weapons to Israel.

According to a report published in the Washington Post, a major part of the proposed sale is of Joint Direct Attack Munitions, or JDAMS, kits that transform so-called “dumb” bombs into precision-guided missiles. Israel, which has bought a great many numbers of JDAMS from the US in the past, has said that it has been using precision-guided missiles to attack Hamas hideouts in Gaza to avoid civilian casualties.

The Congress was officially notified of the proposed sale on May 5, days before the tensions between Israel and Palestine spiralled into a full-fledged war, with Hamas terror outfit launching rockets towards Israel and the Jewish Nation retaliating back with even more ferocity. So far, about 200 Palestinians and 10 Israelis have died in the crisis that has been worse since the 2014 Hamas-Israeli war that lasted nearly two months.

As per US laws, the incumbent government is required to inform Congress of such sales, although official notification usually comes after Congress has informally agreed. Once the formal notification is made as in this case, the legislators have 20 days to object with a non-binding resolution of disapproval.

The weapons sale by the Joe Biden administration is likely to attract opposition from at least some members within his party who have been vocal in their support for Palestine.

Tensions between Israel and Palestine escalates after Hamas launches aerial rockets at the Jewish nation

Hostilities between Israel and its nemesis Hamas is at an all-time high, especially after the intense aerial exchanges that started on Tuesday evening and continued well past midnight. On Tuesday, Palestinian terrorist organisation Hamas unleashed massive airstrikes against Israel, firing hundreds of rockets inside the country. The country’s air defence system, popularly known as Iron Dome, intercepted the continuous barrage of rockets targeting Tel Aviv and central Israel.

Israel, in response, stepped up its attacks on the Palestinian terror group Hamas inside Gaza Strip. The Israel Defence Forces carried out airstrikes on targets in Gaza in response to continued attacks by Hamas against Israel. During the retaliatory strikes on Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike struck a high-rise office and residential building controlled by Hamas.

Last week, Israel attacked and destroyed the underground network of the tunnel, dubbed as the “Metro” that was used by Hamas for deploying terrorists and smuggling weapons.

A couple of days ago, in one of the most audacious attacks against Hamas, Israel demolished the Al Jalaa building that housed Al Jazeera and other international media offices. Israel defended the move claiming that Hamas operatives use tall buildings, including buildings used by the media outlets, to carry out their illegal activities.

Maharashtra: Cops book 50 covidiots for flouting Covid guidelines and offering Namaz

The Mumbai police have registered a case against 50-60 people for offering Namaz, despite the enforcement of a strict lockdown in the State of Maharashtra, reported News Track.

As per reports, the police had received information about a large gathering of Muslims at the Mahim Cemetery in Mumbai on Friday (May 14). They were offering Namaz secretly. This was despite the fact that religious and public places have been closed in the aftermath of the lockdown that was imposed to contain the Coronavirus pandemic. The police reached the spot and apprehended the ‘covidiots’. A case was registered against 50-60 people at the Mahim Police Station.

The cops have also booked the cemetery management for violating lockdown guidelines. The cemetery management has so far not issued any statement. While speaking about the matter, a senior police official named Vikas Shinde said, “About 60 people were praying at the Sunni Muslim cemetery in Mahim. As soon as the police came to know about it, she immediately rushed to the spot and caught everyone red-handed.” The police have not arrested anyone till now.

Rajasthan police bust large Eid gathering in Dungarpur mosque

Earlier on May 14, Rajasthan cops lathi-charged a group of Muslims who had congregated to offer Namaz at a local mosque in Dungarpur, Rajasthan, on the occasion of Eid in complete defiance to the lockdown rules amidst the second wave of the coronavirus.

According to India TV journalist Manish Bhattacharya, the Rajasthan police carried out raids at a local mosque in Dungarpur city after receiving information that several Muslims had congregated in the area to celebrate Eid despite the lockdown orders. As the police reached the spot, they witnessed a large congregation, who had gathered at a local mosque violating social distancing guidelines.

In the video that has gone viral on social media platforms, dozens of people can be seen exiting the mosque and running away in fear of police. Despite strict orders against public gathering, several dozen locals had gathered inside the closed premises, risking Covid spread.

From Mumbai 26/11 attacks to Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati assassination plot: How Islamic terrorists use Hindu symbols

Delhi Police recently averted a major assassination attempt against Dasna Devi Temple head-priest Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati with the arrest of a Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorist Mohd. Dar alias Jehangir from a hotel in the city’s Paharganj area.

Jehangir, who hailed from Pulwama, Kashmir, was acting at the behest of a Pakistani terrorist called Abid, who recruited him to eliminate Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, presumably for his recent remarks on Islam and Prophet Muhammad. For this mission, Dar was wired Rs 35,000 in his bank account and paid Rs 6,500 in cash.

With the aim of killing Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, Dar came to the national capital and was staying at a modest hotel in the central Delhi’s Paharganj area. Although the police had uncovered this assassination attempt 10 days ago, Dar’s arrest was kept under wraps, perhaps to nab other co-conspirators involved in the case.

Islamic terrorists using Hindu paraphernalia to perpetuate ‘Hindu Terror’ bogey

However, what’s intriguing aspect about the case is the list of items recovered by the Delhi Police from the Kashmiri terrorist. Besides a .30 bore pistol along with two magazine and 15 live rounds, the police recovered a Bhagwa kurta, a Kalava, a Mala and a Chandan-tika from the terrorist.

The seizure of overtly Hindu symbols such as a Bhagwa kurta, a Chandan-tika etc. from an Islamic terrorist points to the modus operandi that has often been put in use to carry out terror attacks in India and to assassinate important Hindu dignitaries.

The use of saffron attire and Hindu paraphernalia serves two purposes. Firstly, it allows the Islamic terrorists to masquerade themselves as pious Hindus, drawing less suspicions towards themselves and gaining easy access and proximity to their targets. Secondly, by dressing themselves as observant Hindus, they are essentially promoting the “Hindu terror” bogey, a fabrication that was conjured up by the UPA government to shield Islamic extremism.

Pakistani terrorists that carried out Mumbai 26/11 attacks carried fake Hindu identities and Hindu symbols

This modus operandi was put into use by terrorists who carried out the gruesome terror attack in Mumbai on 26 November 2008. The terrorists were given fake Hindu identities and red strings were tied on their wrists to give an impression that the attack was carried out by terrorists belonging to the Hindu fold.

However, the plan to implicate Hindus as terrorists went awry when Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, one among the group of 10 that carried out the terror attacks in Mumbai, was captured alive by the police. With Kasab being caught alive, the nefarious plan of Islamic terrorists to portray the attack as a case of “Hindu terror” stood exposed. It came to light that fake Hindu identities and Hindu symbols were deliberately attached to the terrorists, to project the attack as a handiwork of “Hindu terrorists”.

In his memoirs ‘Let Me Say It Now’, retired IPS officer Rakesh Maria, who as Mumbai Crime Branch-CID chief investigated the 26/11 terror attacks, spoke in detail about the vile plan of the terrorists to perpetuate the “Hindu terror” bogey.

As per Maria’s account, the LeT wanted Kasab to be killed as a Bengaluru resident ‘Samir Dinesh Chaudhari’, with a “red thread” tied around his wrist to portray the attack as a case of ‘Hindu terror’, but their plan apparently did not succeed and the police nabbed Kasab, who hailed from Faridkot in Pakistan and confessed to being radicalised in the name of Islam.

It is worth noting that Congress was the first one to invent the “Hindu Terror” bogey in the wake of the 2006 Malegaon blasts as a parallel to Islamic terrorism. With this imaginary construct, the Congress party wanted to assert that terror has no religion. However, their real intention was to shield Islamic extremism that was responsible for a string of terror attacks in the tumultuous decade between 2000 to 2010. The Congress party then wrongly implicated Sadhvi Pragya to firm up their “Hindu Terror” fabrication.

Subsequently, the Congress party furthered the imaginary construct of “Hindu extremism” by pinning the blame of the Mumbai 26/11 attacks on RSS. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh unveiled a book that held RSS responsible for the Mumbai terror attacks.

Killers of Kamlesh Tiwari came dressed as Hindus, wearing saffron kurtas

11 years later, the same methodology was once again employed to assassinate Hindu samaj leader Kamlesh Tiwari. Two assassins, Farid-ud-Din Shaikh and Ashfaq Shaikh came dressed in saffron kurtas at Tiwari’s office-cum-residence at Lucknow and assassinated him. They carried sweet boxes in which they had concealed weapons with which they killed the Hindu leader. They were able to get close to Kamlesh Tiwari by the virtue of being dressed in saffron robes, which attracted little suspicions about their possible intentions to make the visit.

Furthermore, they were successful in making an escape after assassinating Kamlesh Tiwari. However, the police later arrested them, and the entire assassination plot was brought to the fore. Tiwari was killed for comments made by him in 2015 where he raised questions on the sexual orientation of Prophet Muhammad. Tiwari’s remarks were in retaliation to offensive comments made against Hindu leaders by radical Muslim clerics. He was even jailed for his remarks against Prophet Muhammad.

But the Islamic terrorists felt such a punishment was not adequate and he was killed in broad daylight at his own residence. Had it not been for the vigilant police forces, his assassins would have beat the rap and their motive to kill Kamlesh would have never seen the light of the day. The mystery surrounding his death would have endured, and people would have attributed his assassination to personal enmity that led to his killing by men wearing saffron robes.

This time around it was Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, who was the target of assassination for the Islamic terrorists. Yati has of late been in the news for his comments on Islam and Prophet Muhammad. His comments on Prophet Muhammad has also drawn the ire of the Islamists across the country, most notably the MLA Amanatullah Khan, who whipped up frenzy against the Dasna Devi Temple head priest by openly calling for his beheading.

With the calls for the assassinations of Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati growing, the Islamic terrorist once again tried to employ the same tactics that had been in use for some time now. By manifesting himself as a practising Hindu, the Islamic terrorist not only sought closer proximity to Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati for committing his vile act, but he also wanted to perpetuate the theory of “Hindu extremism” that has been used by Congress and other political parties to guilt-trip Hindus and shield Islamic terrorism.

Turkey President Erdogan seeks Christian support for sanctions against Israel, calls Pope Francis

President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan has spoken with Pope Francis over the violence in Gaza and has urged the head of the Catholic Church to support sanctions against Israel. The revelation was made in a statement on social media by the Presidency of Turkey.

During the call, Erdogan emphasised that “Israel’s attacks concerned not only the Palestinians but all the Muslims, all the Christians and the entire humanity.”

Statement by the Turkish Presidency

The Turkish President highlighted the recent clashes at the Al-Aqsa Mosque to claim that Israel’s actions threatened regional peace. He also said that access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was also blocked. Significantly, Erdogan sought Christian support for sanctions against Israel.

The statement said, “Further stressing that the Palestinians would continue to be massacred unless the international community punished Israel, which had been committing a crime against humanity, with due sanctions, President Erdogan highlighted the great importance of the messages and reactions Pope Francis would continue to give in terms of mobilizing the Christian world and the international community.”

Erdogan also took subtle jibes at the Joe Biden administration after the USA blocked a joint statement by the UN Security Council urging ceasefire three times in a week.

The statement said, “Pointing out that the international community should give Israel the deterrent reaction and lesson it deserved and take concrete steps to that end, President Erdogan stated that Turkey devoted all its efforts to that aim and was carrying out intensive diplomacy efforts in all relevant international platforms, the United Nations in particular, but that the Security Council had yet to display the required awareness of responsibility.”

Violence has continued to rock the region as the Israel-Palestine conflict continues unabated. India has condemned the spate of violence at both ends and has called for immediate de-escalation.

Odisha: Sonu Sood clarifies after Ganjam DM says they had not received any communication from him regarding bed for COVID patient

The Collector and District Magistrate of Ganjam has called out Sonu Sood after the actor claimed to have arranged a bed for a patient at Ganjam City Hospital at Berhampur, Odisha. Through the official account of the administration on Twitter, it was informed that the patient was in home isolation in a stable condition.

It was also revealed that the patient did not require a bed and Brahmapur Municipal Corporation is monitoring the situation. Berhampur is also known as Brahmapur.

The tweet to the actor for help has since then been deleted. There has been suspicions that Sonu Sood had been falsely claiming credit for arranging help for Covid-19 patients without having done so. He had recently claimed credit for supplying plasma to a user who had sought help for a patient but later, the user had clarified that his family had no information on the arrangement.

In a separate case, the actor had claimed credit for securing a bed for a patient who had already succumbed to the disease. Meanwhile, Sood has been sharing cringe self-laudatory posts on social media portraying himself as a messiah for Covid patients.

The posts portrayed him as Lord Hanuman in one and another showed Bharat Mata bowing down to him for his service.

Update:

Sonu Sood later took to social media to clarify his position.

He said that he never claimed that they approached the district administration to help patients with providing help. He claimed that they had helped the patient with the bed themselves. he also attached screenshots of chat conversation his team had with the patient.
