The Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday took to Twitter to pose a question on why do so many dictators have their names starting with ‘M’. Though he did not care to elaborate on the context of the tweet, he shared a list of number of dictators whose names started with the alphabet ‘M’.

“Why do so many dictators have names that begin with M ? Marcos, Mussolini, Milosevic, Mubarak, Mobutu, Musharraf, Micombero,” the Congress leader tweeted.

Even though the Wayanad MP did not explicitly mention in his tweet, the indirect reference to PM Modi was hard to miss. For the last few months, Gandhi has been attacking the central government and accusing PM Modi of exhibiting fascist and dictatorial tendencies.

Rahul Gandhi drops off mentioning Mao Zedong in the list of dictators starting with ‘M’

While the Gandhi scion spoke about the dictators who had their initials starting with ‘M’, his list did not include the infamous Chinese autocrat Mao Zedong, who is arguably the biggest mass murderer in the history of the world.

Most people assume that Adolf Hitler or Soviet Dictator Joseph Stalin to be the biggest despots the world has ever seen. However, both Hitler and Stalin were outdone by the former Chinese premier Mao Zedong, also the founder of the People’s Republic of China. From 1958 to 1962, Mao presided over a hare-brained campaign of Great Leap forward policy that led to the deaths of about 45 million people—easily making it the largest episode of mass murders ever recorded.

However, a book ‘Black Book of Communism’ chronicling the tumultuous years of Mao’s regime pegs the number of people died due to Mao’s policies even higher. It states that 65 million people perished because of Mao’s merciless attempts to create a utopian socialist society in China. Under the “Great Leap Forward”, China suffered an unprecedented famine, leading to the deaths of tens of millions of people.

Five years later when Mao sensed that the revolutionary fervour in China is on the wane, he announced another campaign—Cultural Revolution. Under this revolution, gangs of Red Guards — young men and women between 14 and 21—prowled the cities targeting the revisionists and those who were perceived as enemies of the state, especially teachers and intellectuals.

Teachers and Professors across the length and breadth of the country were humiliated, their faces smeared with think and they were forced to get down on their knees and bark like dogs. Some of them were beaten to death by the rampaging Red Guards Army. It was only after the Red Guards started attacking the Communist Party members that Mao called in the Red Army to put down the marauding Red Guards. But by then, a million Chinese were already dead.

Communism continues to be a source of terror in India

Mao’s brand of Communism was adopted by subsequent Chinese leaders, including the current Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, under whose leadership, persecution of minorities have continued unabated. Uyghur Muslim minorities in the Chinese province of Xinjiang have been subjected to unspeakable atrocities under the auspices of Xi Jinping. They have been forcibly sent to detention centres that are described as “re-education camps” and “training centres” by the Communist leaders. They are separated from their families and dissuaded from following religious practices.

Communism remains an enduring threat, not just for the people of China, but for the Indians too. In India, the Communist Party of India(Maoists) carried out terror activities in the form of Naxal attacks in some parts of the rural India. The Communist Party of India(Maoists) draws its ideological inspiration from the Chinese Communist Party.

The CPI (Maoists) is a designated terror organisation by the Indian Government under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act since 2009. Recently, a US report published in 2019 ranked CPI(M) as the 6th deadliest terror outfit in the world. The report blamed the Communist Party of India (Maoist) for the killing of 311 people in 2018 and involvement in over 177 terror incidents in the same year. Although the party is losing its strength, it is still a force to reckon with and the Indian government is taking measures to annihilate them.

Congress signed an MoU with CCP in 2008

The absence of Mao Zedong’s name from the list of dictators tweeted by Rahul Gandhi is also instructive of the Congress party’s close ties with the Chinese Communist Party. It is worth noting that Congress had signed an MoU with the CCP during the UPA 1 regime to consult on ‘important issues’.

In 2008, the Congress party and the Communist Party of China (CPC) had signed a deal in Beijing for exchanging high-level information and co-operation between them. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) also provided the two parties with the “opportunity to consult each other on important bilateral, regional and international developments”.

Interestingly, the MoU was signed by the then Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi and on the Chinese side, it was signed by none other than Xi Jinping himself, who was then the Chinese vice-president and standing committee member of the CPC’s politburo. The MoU was signed in the presence of his mother and party president Sonia Gandhi.

It is also pertinent to note that Rahul Gandhi allegedly had a secret meeting with Chinese ministers during his Kailash Mansarovar visit in September 2018. While addressing a town hall meeting titled Reimagining India in Bhubaneswar in January 2019, Rahul Gandhi revealed that he had met Chinese ministers during his visit to Kailash Mansarovar.

Furthermore, it has also been observed that Congress and Rahul Gandhi have been studiously mealy-mouthed about criticising China and the Chinese Communist Party. Perhaps, the alleged closeness between Congress and the CCP is the reason why Rahul Gandhi has consciously refrained from including Mao Zedong in the list of dictators he tweeted earlier today?

Greta Thunberg has inadvertently revealed the insidious nature of the global campaign against India. After music sensation Rihanna and adult movie actress Mia Khalifa jumped in to amplify the targeted campaign against the Indian government, the school drop out activist also registered her contribution in the matter.

However, she appears to have given the game away when she shared a document that detailed the manner in which people all over the world could contribute to undermine laws passed by the democratically elected Parliament of India.

The document, titled, ‘Global Farmer Strike First Wave’, implores individuals across the world to be a part of the ‘largest protest’ in human history. The objective is, apparently, to protest against the ‘unregulated corporatisation’ of the farming sector.

The document registers actions people can take to undermine the democratic will of the Indian population. The proposed measures include, “Call/Email any of your govt representatives and ask them to take action, Sign online Petitions and take action to Divest from monopolists and oligopolists like Adani-Ambani” and “Organise an on-ground action near the closest Indian Embassy, Media House or your local Govt. office on 13th February, 2020.”

The document also lists a series of ‘prior actions’ that were undertaken. These include, “Physical Actions – Near Indian Embassies, Govt. offices, Media houses (or even Adani-Ambani offices) globally – 26th January” and “Watch out for (or Join) the Farmers’ March / Parade (a first of its kind) into Delhi and back to the borders on 26th January.”

About the protests on Republic Day, the document, which was clearly prepared before the 26th of January, states, “On 26th January, a major day of globally coordinated actions, Show your support at local physical locations, wherever you are. Either find protests happening in your city/state/country and participate in large (or small) numbers or organize one.”

“In addition to the options below, you are encouraged to organise solidarity protests either at/near Indian Embassies, near your local Govt. offices or offices of various multinational Adani and Ambani companies. While we are focusing on the 26th, you are encouraged to continue organising gatherings as and when possible – for this is not going to end anytime soon,” it adds.

The document also urges individuals to participate in a ‘Global TweetStorm’ on the 23rd and 26th of January. It is pertinent to mention that the 23rd of January marks the birth anniversary of legendary Indian freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

The document also mentions @thepmo, @UNDP, @UNFAO @XRebellionInd (if on Instagram) and @PMOIndia, @UNDP_India, @nstomar, @XRebellionInd, @timestrolley (if on Twitter) as the accounts to tag in during the ‘TweetStorm’.

The document also asks individuals to sign certain petitions. What is clear from the document is that there was a coordinated attempt by hostile elements abroad to incite unrest in India all along. Furthermore, while it is unclear precisely when the coordinated efforts began, it is more than evident that such attempts began even prior to the 23rd of January.

Moreover, there were attempts by hostile elements abroad to stir up passions on Republic Day. Greta Thunberg has tagged the handles of two obscure groups in the tweet where she shared the document. One is “Extinction Rebellion India” and the other is “Fridays For Future India”.

There is not much information about the identities of the individuals involved in either of these two groups. The website for FFFI does not list the names of the head of the group or the board running things. However, given their antecedents, it is clear that they are a part of a bigger effort to undermine Indian democracy.

On February 3, Ramesh Pawar, Joint Municipal Commissioner, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, accidentally sipped a mouthful of hand sanitiser instead of water and immediately spat it out. The incident took place just before he prepared himself to read and table the annual education budget 2021-2022 on Wednesday.

A video of Pawar has gone viral in which he was seen picking up a bottle of a transparent liquid lying in front of him. He opened it, took a sip and immediately spit it out.

Explaining the incident, Pawar said that he thought it was a water bottle, so he drank it. He said, “I thought that I should drink water before starting my speech, so I lifted the bottle and drank. Bottles of water & sanitiser kept there, were similar. So it happened. As soon as I drank it, I realized the mistake & didn’t gulp it all the way down.”

IMF had lent $350 million to Myanmar as ‘unconditional emergency aid package’ days before the coup: Details

Just days before Myanmar Army took control of the country by staging a coup, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had sent $350 million to the Myanmar government as part of an unconditional emergency aid package to help the country battle the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement on January 13, the IMF had said the money would help Myanmar meet ‘urgent balance-of-payments needs arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, especially the government’s recovery measures to ensure macroeconomic and financial stability while supporting affected sectors and vulnerable groups’.

However, days later, the military leaders in Myanmar deposed its elected power to seize power and detained elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi and other elected officials.

Reportedly, the IMF, unlike its regular financing programs, in which it provides finance in smaller increments based on performance benchmarks for agreed policy reforms, this time it had sanctioned emergency coronavirus aid to Myanmar in a single payment.

However, the IMF cannot withdraw the funds now as Covid-19 financing programs come with no conditions. The IMF can now only hope that the Myanmar government emerges from the current political turmoil and spend the money appropriately.

More than $700 million funds have been given to Myanmar by the IMF

In the last seven months, the IMF has provided Myanmar with $700 million in emergency coronavirus financing, including last week’s payment that included $116.6 million through the IMF’s Rapid Credit Facility and $233.4 million through the Rapid Financing Instrument.

“We are following the unfolding developments closely. We are deeply concerned about the impact of events on the economy and on the people of Myanmar,” said an IMF spokesperson confirming the payment.

Apparently, since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis last year, the International Monetary Fund has provided emergency financing to 80 countries.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the ruling Myanmar military appointed Than Nyein as the country’s new central bank governor, reinstating him to a post he previously held between 2007-2013, during the rule of the last military rule.

The World Bank had also stated that it was gravely concerned about the military takeover in Myanmar and warned about the major setback to the country’s transition and its development prospects.

Military coup in Myanmar

On February 1, Myanmar’s military announced that it had taken control of the government and declared a state of emergency for one year. The Army allegedly took the step after Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi was re-elected with a large mandate in the recent elections. The Army detained Aung San and other leaders of her National League for Democracy party in the early morning raids.

Earlier this week, the Myanmar Army had suggested they were ready to take control of the country after pointing out the alleged election fraud in the November 8 election. In the elections, the incumbent NLD had won the election by a landslide, ensuring Aung San Suu Kyi a second five-year term in office.

West Bengal tops the list of missing children consecutively for 3 years, 1 in 6 children missing from the state: Details

The State of West Bengal, ruled by the incumbent Trinamool Congress government, has witnessed more cases of missing children that any other State in the country.

As per reports, the Minister of Women and Child Welfare, Smriti Irani had informed in the Lok Sabha that West Bengal topped the list of missing children in India consecutively from 2016 to 2018. As per the data, around 16,881 children went missing in 2016 from different parts of the State while 19,671 children went missing in 2017. In the following year, about 16,027 children went missing from West Bengal.

Earlier, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) also revealed the grim picture of such cases in the State. One out of 6 such cases come from West Bengal. As per the NCRB report (2017), there were 1,19,013 missing children in India and West Bengal accounted for 16.5% of the total cases. Similarly, the State accounted for 15.1% of all 1,11,569 cases in the country.

Human trafficking in West Bengal

West Bengal also ranked 2nd in human trafficking in 2017, with 357 cases. It is important to note that a total of 2,857 cases were recorded in the same year. But, the data from 2016 reveals that West Bengal accounted for a whopping 3579 cases (44%) of human trafficking in the country, which recorded a total of 8,132 cases.

Shakti Vahini member Rishi Kant, however, noted, “While the efforts of the State in tracing missing children is commendable. We have to look at the cases of human trafficking in accordance with the data of missing children. Looking only at the data of the NCRB on human trafficking may not give a clear picture”

On Tuesday, international songwriter Rihanna attempted to peddle false propaganda against India by expressing her solidarity with a bunch of protestors, who have been accused of unleashing riots on the streets of Delhi.

As songwriter Rihanna, along with former porn-stars and irrelevant protestors endorsed violence in the name of supporting ‘farmer’ protests, several citizens of the country took to social media platforms to condemn the unnecessary interference foreign individuals into country’s internal affairs.

Issuing a stern warning to the foreign celebrities, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) asked these foreign individuals and entities to ascertain facts and undertake a proper understanding of the farmers’ protest before rushing to comment on it.

However, hours after Rihanna stormed a massive political controversy, reports have now highlighted the reason behind Rihanna’s intervention to support Khalistani protestors disguised as ‘farmers’ in India.

It is being suspected that Canadian top politician Jagmeet Singh, who is notoriously known for supporting Khalistan separatism, could be behind Rihanna’s anti-Indian propaganda. Hours after Rihanna posted a tweet intervening in India’s affairs, controversial Canadian lawmaker Jagmeet Singh took to Twitter to hail Rihanna for consistently ‘uplifting and empowering the voices of the oppressed’.

Is Jagmeet Singh behind Rihanna’s anti-India tweets?

Jagmeet Singh, who is accused of terror funding and under the radar of Indian Intelligence agencies for sheltering pro-Khalistani sympathisers, shares a good relationship with songwriter Rihanna and had once openly bragged about it on a TV show.

In an interview just before Canadian elections in 2019, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh had boasted about how Rihanna had followed him on Instagram. Speaking on the same, the controversial lawmaker had claimed that he had received a text from the pop-singer on Instagram too.

With Jagmeet Singh’s anti-India hatred is already out in the open, it is now being alleged that Jagmeet Singh may have persuaded Rihanna to put out political tweets targeting the Indian government. Social media users are now pointing out that Jagmeet Singh may have used his political clout to convince Rihanna to put a tweet in support of the alleged ‘farmer’ protests, which have been hijacked by the pro-Khalistan elements.

Several social media users also highlighted the links between the Canadian MP and Rihanna to allege that the tweet by the latter might well be a co-ordinated campaign to defame India internationally.

National-award winning actress Kangana Ranaut, who is extremely vocal about Khalistani interference in Indian politics, particularly the ongoing protests, also pointed out how the accused of funding terrorist activities may have influenced Rihanna to tweet in favour of protestors.

Who is Jagmeet Singh?

Jagmeet Singh, also known as Jimmy Dhaliwal, was born in 1979 to immigrant Indian parents in Canada. A lawyer-turned-politician, Singh is currently serving as leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP) since 2017 and as a Member of Parliament since 2019.

However, Jagdeep Singh is known for his support for Khalistani terrorists and has openly voiced his support for the anti-Indian Khalistanis in Canada, earning him the tag of being ‘Pro-Khalistan’.

In 2014, the Indian government had denied Singh a visa to visit India for criticising human rights record of India. Denying him a visa, the Indian government had accused him of misusing the human rights cause to pursue his “insidious agenda of disturbing the social fabric of India and undermining the peace, harmony and territorial integrity of India”. He also became the first western legislator ever to be denied entry into the country.

In June of 2015, Singh, who was then just an NDP member of the Ontario legislature, appeared on stage at a Khalistan rally in San Francisco which had featured a large poster of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, the Khalistani terrorist, who led an armed movement against India and had occupied the Golden Temple.

In 2016, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh had participated in a pro-Khalistani seminar and had even endorsed the use of political violence as a “legitimate form of resistance” to achieve an independent Sikh homeland in India.

Shockingly, in his speech, Singh had even accused India of committing “genocide” against Sikhs in the Golden Temple assault. In April 2017, Jagmeet Singh was also responsible for passing a motion recognizing the 1984 Sikh riots in India as a “genocide”.

The anti-India propaganda of Jagmeet Singh does not end just there. Following the abrogation of Article 370 by the Narendra Modi government, Singh had even expressed his support to pro-Pakistan propaganda on Kashmir. He had made public statements against India and accused the country of human rights violations in the region.

Ajay Devgn to Karan Johar: Bollywood personalities take on Rihanna and gang over support to ‘farmers’ protest, call for unity

Prominent Bollywood personalities Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Suniel Shetty, Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, Kailash Kher and several others have called for unity in the light of comments made by several international figures, including singer Rihanna and activist Greta Thunberg, over the ongoing farmers’ protests. 

Posting tweets with a similar language, the Bollywood actors urged people to not pay attention to anyone creating differences. 

Quoting a statement shared by the External Affairs Ministry on Twitter, Akshay tweeted, “Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences. #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.”

Filmmaker Karan Johar too weighed in on his views after global celebrities commented on the farmers protest. 

“We live in turbulent times and the need of the hour is prudence and patience at every turn. Let us together, make every effort we can to find solutions that work for everyone—our farmers are the backbone of India. Let us not let anyone divide us. #IndiaTogether,” Johar tweeted. 

Ajay Devgn advised against falling for any propaganda against India and Indian policies. He said it is important to stand united without any infighting.

Ekta Kapoor tweeted, “Lets stand united against any propaganda. Together we can and we will! #IndiaAgainstPropoganda #IndiaTogether.”

Actor Suniel Shetty said it is important to take comprehensive view of things and warned against half truths.

Singer Kailash Kher also tweeted against the propaganda propped up by Rihanna and other global celebrities.

On Tuesday evening, singer Rihanna tweeted, “Why aren’t we talking about this?” while sharing a news story about the farmers’ protest. Sharing the same story, activist Greta Thunberg expressed her ‘solidarity’ with the protesters.

A statement was issued by the external affairs ministry subsequently contending that “vested interest groups” are trying to enforce their agenda on the protests to derail them and said that these groups are trying to mobilise global support against India. The statement also referred to “sensationalist social media hashtags and comments” by “celebrities and others” but didn’t name anyone in particular.

Delhi Police has announced a reward for information regarding the main accused of Republic Day riots, including actor-turned-activist and Khalistani supporter Deep Sidhu. On the other hand, Sidhu has released another video on his Facebook page making sensational allegations. Sidhu had alleged that the farmers union leaders were present at the Red Fort, contrary to what those leaders had claimed earlier.

He said that he has video proof of those leaders who were present at Red Fort with their faces covered. Sidhu further alleged that those leaders did not try to control the situation, after which he had to step up. He claimed if he had not controlled the agitated protestors, things would have gone out of hand, but now everyone is making him a scapegoat and saying he provoked people to march towards Red Fort.

In the first two videos that he had released on February 2, Deep Sidhu spoke in English, possibly to make it easier to understand by everyone. He said he joined the protests in September, and at that time, all political parties, including Congress, AAP and BJP, had approached him, but he denied any affiliation.

He said Congress had uploaded his video that went viral in November but later deleted it due to the backlash he had received after his interview with Barkha Dutt. Sidhu tried to indirectly justify his leaning towards Khalistanis by saying that in a democratic country, people should listen to both sides.

‘I was made a scapegoat, and now I am running from cops’

Deep Sidhu said that though he had controlled the situation at Red Fort and he was the only known face at the time of the incident, he has been made a scapegoat by everyone, including union leaders, opposition parties and the government. He further alleged that there is no proof that he provoked anyone for the march towards Red Fort, and it was the leaders who decided to march towards Red Fort earlier.

Sidhu claimed that he has proof to show he joined the march at 9 AM and not earlier as everyone is suggesting. By the time he started, people had already reached Red Fort. Sidhu said despite being a lawyer and practicing in the Supreme Court with famous lawyers like Mukul Rohtagi and Harish Salve, he has to run from cops because of the cases filed against him.

In the second video, Sidhu claimed that union leaders are using their ‘IT cell’ to put him in a bad light. He said whenever he tries to put up his side of the story, the ‘IT cells’ get activated and throw him under the bus. He said that he is staying close to the protest site in Haryana and can reach there anytime. He also challenged farmer leaders to have a discussion with him on how they are mismanaging the movement.

There is a part of the video where he tried to compare himself with Lord Hanuman with fire on his tail, but that part of the video was edited, and it only includes the reference of the burning tail and the name ‘Hanu’ after which the video was trimmed.  

‘There was no violence’

Deep Sidhu tried to whitewash the violence that took place on Republic Day. He claimed that while he was driving towards Red Fort, there was no violence on the road. He alleged what the media is showing in the name of violence are only small incidents that took place here and there. He completely denied any attack on police personnel, but in reality, hundreds of them were injured as rioters attacked them with swords, batons and tractors.

‘I am disappointed in you, Ravish Kumar’

Specifically naming journalist Ravish Kumar of NDTV, Sidhu said that he had thought Ravish is a sensible journalist, but the way he had presented him on his show was disappointing. He said just because Ravish wanted to use his name in his prime time show, he did not try to talk to Sidhu and learn his side of the story. He also claimed that he stopped giving interviews to the media after his interview with Barkha Dutt, where he was shown in a bad light.

‘I can prove who provoked’

Sidhu, in the second video that was released on February 3, claimed that he has proof of who had provoked the protestors. He said that he would soon publish all the videos he had, including the video he had recorded on January 26 at 4 AM. He claimed that he only talked about supporting each other, and the union leaders were the ones who provoked. He further asked people to join protests from villages and cities irrespective of how far they are from Delhi.

‘There is nothing wrong in Nishan Sahib on Red Fort’

Sidhu claimed that Red Fort belongs to everyone in the country, and there is nothing wrong with hoisting Nishan Sahib on an empty pole. However, Sidhu failed to mention that that empty pole is reserved for National Flag that is hoisted every August 15. Sidhu also failed to acknowledge how National Flag was thrown by the person who went on the top of the pole to hoist the religious flag. He further failed to acknowledge that two flags with the Sikh holy symbol, one triangular and the other rectangular flag were hoisted on the dome of Red Fort.

Sidhu again boasted about Langars by Sikhs

Towards the end of both videos, Sidhu boasted how Sikhs organize Langars regularly. He claimed people walked towards Nishan Sahib during Covid-19 in the hope of free food, and Army also walk with Nishan Sahib while moving towards the China border, but now when it was hoisted on Red Fort, the holy symbol is being ridiculed.

Interestingly, no one is ridiculing Nishan Sahib as everyone has the utmost respect for the holy symbol. On the contrary, people are criticizing the way this particular section of protesters is trying to portray as if hoisting a religious flag on Red Fort is not a big deal.

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh refuses to condemn Khalistanis after Kangana Ranaut says that’s all she wants

Hollywood’s billionaire singer-actor Rihanna kicked up a storm after extending support to protesting ‘farmers’ in India who have been indulging in rioting and road blockades since over two months now. There have been reports of Khalistani elements have infiltrated and hijacked the protest which are mainly led by ‘farmers’ from Punjab. Punjabi actor-singer and other celebrities, too, have extended their support.

Amongst them, Diljit Dosanjh has been a very vocal supporter. In December 2020, when the ‘farmers’ from Punjab had just settled themselves on Delhi border, Diljit had even gone to the protest sites to participate in ‘concerts’. He even got into a verbal spat with Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut on Twitter which turned pretty ugly pretty quickly. Dosanjh was cheered by ‘liberals’, some of whom even wanted him to become Prime Minister of Canada.

Dosanjh, however, has been deafeningly silent on the Republic Day riots and the violence these protestors unleashed on the streets of Delhi when the Republic Day parade was on.

The two actors again locked horns today on social media.

After Rihanna’s midnight tweet, Diljit sang a song praising her. To that, Kangana quipped and questioned how long it took him to prepare the same.

To that, Diljit claimed that he made the song in half an hour.

To that, Kangana said that her only work is being a patriot and that’s all she does all day. “But I will not let you do your work, you Khalistani,” she said.

Diljit responded and claimed that what Ranaut is saying makes no sense and said that he does not wish to talk to her.

“Your Canada gang will not be able to do anything. Khalistan will only remain the name of empty space in your brains. We will not let the country break,” she said.

Triggered, Dosanjh asked Kangana if she is unwell. He said that the country is of everyone.

Kangana retorted and said that India is only for Indians, not for Khalistanis. “Say you are not a Khalistani. Please say you condemn fringe groups such as Khalistanis participating in protests. If you say this I will apologise and consider you a true patriot. Please say I am waiting,” she tweeted.

To that, Dosanjh claimed that he is also with India. “Whoever is doing wrong, the government will lookout. Who are you and I to decide. You get hung up on one point and not let go,” he said. Dosanjh, however, did not condemn Khalistanis who have been hailing the violence.

To this, Kangana said how she knew he would never admit that he is Khalistani. She added that it is now for all to see that he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

To this, Dosanjh tweeted that Ranaut is not the only Indian. “We are all Indians, not just you. You are happy drawing your own interpretations. Don’t walk around distributing certificates like this as if you’re the only patriot,” he said.

Some time later, he tweeted to Kangana again and said that going forward he will not respond to her tweets. “You have developed habit of playing ‘tweet-tweet’. You anyway make no sense. And why should anyone be answerable to you? Are you a teacher?” he quipped.

Kangana again pointed out that all she wants to listen once is that Diljit Dosanjh does not support Khalistan movement. “Just say simply. Why are you not saying? All discussion will be closed and my doubts will also be cleared. Please say,” she said.

Dosanjh, however, has not yet condemned the Khalistani movement nor the Republic day riots.

When Diljit Dosanjh openly supported ISI backed separatist outfit SJF

In June 2020, a demand for an FIR against Diljit Dosanjh was raised after he was seen supporting Gurpatwant Pannu’s and Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) demand for Khalistan. Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu had urged Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to order that FIR’s be filed in every police station of the state against singer Diljit Dosanjh and two others. He had criticised the ‘Udta Punjab’ actor for supporting the UK-based Khalistani separatist group ‘Sikhs for Justice’, backed by Pakistan’s ISI.

Further, Dosanjh has expressed ‘sadness’ over alleged torture of Jagtar Singh Johal, a British Sikh accused for alleged involvement in assassination of multiple RSS leaders. Many Twitter accounts who have been extending their support to Rihanna and abusing those who question her locus standi are also Johal’s suppoters.

It is also pertinent to note that Diljit Dosanjh has been a vocal supporter of the ongoing farmers’ protests and has also donated Rs 1 crore to the farmers’ cause.

‘Congress is a secular party’: Livid, Congress distances itself from Rajasthan NSUI’s Ram Mandir fund collection drive

After the Rajasthan wing of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of Congress, launched a drive to collect funds for the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, the Rajasthan Congress has distanced itself from the NSUI’s drive.

The NSUI had launched a campaign named ‘Rs 1 Ram k Nam’ in Rajasthan on Tuesday to collect donations from students for the construction of Ram Mandir. The NSUI state president Abhishek Chaudhary launched the campaign at Commerce College in Jaipur. The NSUI had launched the campaign alleging the BJP and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the RSS, were looting people in the name of collecting funds. A statement issued by the NSUI claimed that the campaign will last 15 days and all the money collected will be transferred to the Ram Temple Trust.

Congress is a secular party: Party treasurer Pawan Bansal

However, the state Congress has distanced itself from the Ram Mandir drive of Rajasthan NSUI. Speaking at a press conference in Jaipur in the presence of Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, Congress National Treasurer Pawan Bansal said that this was not the official stand of the Congress Party as it was a secular party.

“I was not aware that NSUI in Rajasthan will be collecting funds for Ram temple. But this is not the stand of the Congress. The Congress has no plans to collect donations for the Ram temple. I was contacted for the drive but I refused, as religion for me is my personal faith and personal matter. The Congress is secular”, said Bansal.

NSUI’s drive causes stir among liberals

Rajasthan NSUI’s decision to collect funds for the construction of the Ram temple has made the liberals uneasy. Apparently, the news particularly disturbed ‘journalist’ Rana Ayyub who tagged Congress scion Rahul Gandhi on Twitter seeking his response on the NSUI’s drive.

“Oh hello”, wrote Ayyub on Twitter tagging Rahul Gandhi. However, she deleted the tweet later.

Congress party’s stand regarding Ram Mandir has not been very clear. While the party leaders like Digvijaya Singh and Raghunathan Pillai (Kerala Congress) made donations for the construction of Ram Mandir and inaugurated the fund collection drive respectively, Congress has been trying hard to project itself as a secular party.
