On Monday, the Senate of Pakistan passed a unanimous resolution to confer the highest civilian award, namely, Nishan-e-Pakistan on Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
In its resolution, the Pakistani Senate acknowledged the ‘sacrifices’ and ‘relentless struggle’ of Geelani in the separatist movement in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the resolution, the award was bestowed on him in light of his ‘dedication, perseverance, leadership, and unwavering commitment’ to the nefarious agenda of Pakistan in Kashmir.
The Senate of Pakistan also acknowledged his role in exposing the supposed ‘atrocities’ by the Indian State and the alleged ‘human rights violations’ in the Valley. In its resolution, the Senate lamented that the 90-year-old has been ‘unjustifiedly’ placed under house arrest.
Besides demanding that the Government of Pakistan felicitates Syed Ali Shah Geelani with Nishan-e-Pakistan, the Senate also called upon the State to rename the proposed ‘Pakistan University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies’ as ‘Syed Ali Shah Geelani University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies.’ The proposed university will be built near the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.
Resolution by Pakistan Senate
Further, the resolution demanded that the life and struggle of radical separatist Geelani be included in the educational curriculum at federal and province level.
Syed Ali Shah Geelani ‘quits’ Hurriyat
Last month, Geelani, the senior-most separatist leader in Jammu and Kashmir, had reportedly resigned from the Hurriyat Conference, a conglomerate of separatist groups in the Valley. The separatist leader, who is believed to be on the payroll of Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI, had also written a detailed two-page letter highlighting the reasons behind his resignation from the Hurriyat Conference.
As per the letter, Geelani was sidelined by the Pakistani chapter of Hurriyat in the key-decision making process for the past 2 years. Besides, he revealed that his colleagues also began to maintain distance from him.
While the Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray pontificated about the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony in Ayodhya be conducted via e-conference, the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra headed by him is reportedly mulling over relaxing certain restrictions imposed in the guidelines that were issued in the state on account of Bakra Eid.
#Breaking | Maharashtra Govt to issue revised guidelines on Bakri-Eid.
A group of disgruntled Muslim leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi government recently met NCP chief Sharad Pawar to raise their grievances against the restrictions placed by the Maharashtra government ahead of Eid al-Adha. The Muslim leaders rejected Uddhav Thackeray’s call for the symbolic sacrifice of animals, requesting Sharad Pawar to intervene to facilitate the relaxation of the restriction.
The state government is likely to come up with revised guidelines after Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat and state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh met the Chief Minister last night, reports Times Now.
Now, as per a report by Times Now, the Maharashtra government will allegedly issue a set of revised guidelines to celebrate the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha. The report says that while the government won’t budge on its ban on mass praying in the mosques, the caveat of virtual sacrifice will be dropped and the adherents will be likely allowed to sacrifice the goats.
Muslim leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi government met Sharad Pawar to voice their grievance
The meeting with Sharad Pawar came after several ministers in the state objected to the guidelines issued to celebrate Eid al-Adha in the wake of coronavirus outbreak. Ever since the Uddhav Thackeray-led government issued guidelines for the celebrations of Eid al-Adha in Maharashtra, Muslim leaders of the coalition have been scrambling to secure an appointment to meet the NCP chief and convey their displeasure over it.
Earlier, former minister Arif Naseem Khan has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray asking him to call an urgent meeting of ministers, present and ex MLAs to review the guidelines issued on the occasion of Bakra Eid. According to Khan, the Qurbani or the sacrifice of goats cannot be done symbolically.
He also stated that buying goats online and keeping livestock market closed was impractical. Khan opined that goats could only be bought after inspecting their size and health conditions and that such a thing could not be done while procuring animals online.
Congress MLA Amin Patel had stated that the symbolic sacrifice of goats was ‘unacceptable’ in Islam. He clarified that even though he was in favour of social distancing and praying at home amidst the pandemic, yet asking Muslims to sacrifice goats symbolically was a bit of overstretching. Patel said, “I am observing social distancing, not crowding, praying at home on Bakra Eid to prevent the spread of the pandemic, but Muslims cannot be asked to do Qurbani symbolically.”
Maharashtra government issues Bakra Eid guidelines
The Maha Vikas Aghadi government had issued a set of guidelines for celebrating the Muslim festival of Bakra Eid on July 31 and August 1 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As per the guidelines, people were asked to offer namaz at home instead of thronging nearby mosques and asked to purchase animals online or over the phone. The guidelines called for symbolic celebration of Bakra Eid, which rankled a raft of Muslims, including Muslim legislators.
The state government had asked that “qurbani” or ritual animal sacrifice preferably be done symbolically considering that Maharashtra is in the throes of a deadly respiratory illness, steadily inching towards the 4 lakh mark, with the death tally crossing 13,000.
Uddhav Thackeray suggested Bhoomi Pujan of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to be done via e-conference
It is pertinent to note that while the Maharashtra government led by Uddhav Thackeray is all set to scrap the guidelines that advised the Muslim adherents to observe virtual sacrifice, the Maharashtra CM had recently in an interview with the Shiv Sena mouthpiece advocated e-bhoomi pujan, keeping in view the coronavirus crisis.
“An e-Bhoomi Pujan can be done. The ground-breaking ceremony can be done through video conferencing. This is an event of joy and lakhs of people could attend it if we broadcast it via video conference. Will we allow the spread of the coronavirus?” Thackeray said in an interview with the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana.

Shafiqul Islam & Hon’ble Mayor, Uma Chowdhury Jolly were present. 300 year old temple’s reconstruction was supported by Govt of India pic.twitter.com/8wfQI8U9e4
According to a press release by the High Commission of India in Bangladesh, An MoU for the re-construction of Sree Sree JoyKali Matar Temple at Lalbazar, Natore, Bangladesh was signed on 23 October 2016. The Sree Sree JoyKali Matar Temple Committee with Indian grant assistance of BDT 97 lakhs and a total cost of BDT 1.33 Crores under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) Scheme of Government of India executed the project.
The Indian envoy said on the occasion that the High Commission of India is pleased to have supported the renovation of one of the oldest temples in Bangladesh. “India continues to be a committed partner of Bangladesh in the preservation of our shared heritage and culture, which further strengthens our people-to-people relations.”
The Bangladeshi minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that they had built Natore as a role model of development. India will continue to stand by Bangladesh in the coming days in this endeavour. “Taking advantage of Bangladesh’s progress in the software industry, India will further expand its area of cooperation with Bangladesh in the near future.”
One of the oldest temples in Bangladesh
Sree Sree JoyKali Matar temple is more than 300 years old. It is one of the oldest temples located in Bangladesh. It was built by Shri Dayaram Roy who was the influential Dewan of Rani Bhahani of Natore and founder of Dighapatia Royal Family in the 18th century. Religious festivals such as Durga Puja, Kali Puja and many others are celebrated in the temple every year. There is a Shiva temple in the temple compound as well.
India has been working with Bangladesh to preserve its ancient monuments along with historical and cultural heritage. The support India provided for the renovation of the temple is a perfect example of its efforts. The Government of India is also providing support for several other projects including the construction of Ramakrishna Temple, a two-storied Adibasi Shagshoil School and Niamatpur Girls’ Hostel, Small Developments Projects at Rajshahi City Corporation, restoration of Sree Sree Anandomoyee Kali Mata Mandir, construction of ground floor and first floor of Mahiganj Girls’ High School and college etc.
The security agencies in Bangladesh have received an intelligence input that terror outfit “neo-JMB”, followers of the ISIS ideology, are planning to carry out terror attacks on the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha. The terror attacks are allegedly schemed to mark the announcement of a new wing of ISIS–”Bengal Ulayat” in Bangladesh.
The police headquarters have received inputs that this new wing of ISIS could target police establishments, government establishments, and foreign missions or embassies in the country ahead of Eid-al-Adha scheduled to be held on August 1, 2020.
Following the input, several security units such as the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), Anti-Terrorism Unit and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been put on highest alert and instructed to take necessary actions to prevent subversive activities planned by the terrorists.
“The declaration of a new wing of a terror outfit is generally accompanied by subversive activities,” the instructions in a letter issued by Police Headquarters said while citing the data on terror activities at home and abroad.
Acting on the input and the past data, Bangladesh police have stepped up the measures to avert any untoward terror attack on its soil.
All units have been asked to increase surveillance of extremists and their organisations, maintain personal security for all police, not leave any police vehicle abandoned or empty, ensure security and identity while entering police buildings, stepping up surveillance of school-college-university students. It has also instructed the police units to intensify the searches at the check posts, search bags and bodies in case of suspicion and carry out block raids in suspected areas.
History reveals heightened activity from terrorists around August
Citing previous terror activities, the PHQ Additional Deputy Inspector General (intelligence and special affairs) Haider Ali Khan told Dhaka Tribune that terrorists have been particularly active in the month of August in the past.
Last year in September, a bomb exploded at an Awami League office in Khulna city. Before that, a people, including a female police officer, were injured in a bomb explosion near a police pickup in Dhaka’s Malibagh intersection on May 26. The police had then claimed that all the attacks were carried out by “Neo JMB”.
Last week, there was a bomb explosion in the capital’s Purana Paltan area around 8:45 pm. There was no casualty in the incident. However, the police have launched an investigation to determine who were the miscreants who planted the bomb and their affiliation with any terror outfit.
JMB’s long-standing goal is to convert Bangladesh into an Islamic caliphate like ISIS
Neo-JMB is an ultra-radical offshoot of the proscribed terror outfit Jamaat ul Mujahideen Bangladesh and followers of the ISIS ideology. JMB has a slated goal of supplanting the democratic government in Bangladesh with the Islamic state based on Sharia law. The plan to carry out targeted attacks, assassinations, bombing and other forms of attacks come on the heels of Bangladesh security agencies’ intensified clampdown against the terror activities in the country.
The Shaikh Hasina-led Bangladesh government has been particularly unsparing against the JMB, forcing many of its terrorists to flee Bangladesh through its porous borders with India. In the last few months, a bevvy of JMB terrorists has been nabbed in India and Bangladesh, chipping away at the outfit’s terror network in the two countries. With the announcement of a new wing of ISIS, the JMB possibly hopes to revitalise and mobilise its disillusioned and demoralised cadres towards its long-standing goal of establishing an Islamic caliphate in Bangladesh.
The rift between the old guard and the young leaders in the Congress party is widening with the changing political landscape of the country. The divide became apparent during the political crisis in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Congress leaders have taken contradictory stances on several issues in the past, owing to the communication gap between Team Rahul and Team Sonia.
In the latest development, the video testimonials on ‘national security’ uploaded by Rahul Gandhi on social media have reportedly become the bone of contention yet again between the two factions of the Congress party, as per a report in NDTV.
While emphasising that he spoke the ‘truth’ about China, Rahul Gandhi defended his move on Tuesday, “I don’t care if I don’t have a political career after that but I am going to say the truth as far as the India territory is concerned.”
Rahul was mocked widely for this statement, where many opposition leaders and other users pointed it out that he does not have a career in the first place.
However, his ideas have reportedly found no takers in the Sonia camp. Pointing out Rahul Gandhi’s ‘questionable’ approach, a Congress loyalist quoted by NDTV reportedly stated that Rahul does not consult the veteran leaders in the party. “He does not talk to us and we have no idea who is advising him”, the veteran politician lamented. Reportedly, Rahul has been devising strategies for the Congress party and exercising powers with no accountability, given that his mother Sonia Gandhi is the party chief now.
Veteran Congress leaders unhappy with Rahul Gandhi’s videos
As per the report, this has left the old guard disenchanted as Rahul Gandhi would not consult the veteran loyalists before taking a public stand, unlike Sonia Gandhi. On being asked whether Rahul Gandhi consulted him before airing video testimonials on foreign policy, former Home Minister Chidambaram informed that his opinion was not sought regarding them.
The NDTV report also stated that Chidambaram, in a party press conference, stated that though Rahul had sought his opinions on certain occasions,
Team Sonia is reportedly of the opinion that Rahul Gandhi’s comments on China lack depth, resulting in the isolation of the party for targeting the Prime Minister on national security amidst the border standoff.
The NDTV report stated that some Congress leaders loyal to the family are of the opinion that while their party president Sonia consults them and seeks their advice, Rahul thinks they are useless. The report claimed that Sonia loyalists are concerned that Rahul’s videos are portraying an image that Congress is needlessly attacking the PM on matters of national security.
The political drama in Rajasthan seems to be picking up pace after Sachin Pilot’s untimely and sudden abandonment of the party. While Congress blamed BJP of horse-trading and even dismissed Pilot from his Deputy-CM post, today, a Cabinet meeting chaired by CM Gehlot is underway to discuss the points raised by the Governor regarding the calling of an Assembly Session. Now, BSP supremo Mayawati has also joined the cacophony and has now decided to take Congress to court.
Speaking to the press, Dalit leader Mayawati said that after the assembly elections, the 6 MLAs of BSP had given unconditional support to the Congress, however, Ashok Gehlot betrayed the party by ensuring that all 6 MLAs merge into Congress.
In #Rajasthan, after elections results BSP gave unconditional support of all its 6 MLAs to Congress. Unfortunately CM Gehlot, out of his malicious intent & to damage BSP, merged them with Congress unconsititutionally. He did the same even in his last tenure: BSP Chief Mayawati pic.twitter.com/7GRopcGOtt
She said Ashok Gehlot did the same in his last tenure as well. Further, Mayawati said that she was waiting for the right time to teach Congress and Ashok Gehlot a lesson and has finally decided to go to Courts about the matter.
BSP could have gone to the court earlier too but we were looking for a time to teach Congress party and CM Ashok Gehlot a lesson. Now we have decided to go to the Court. We will not let this matter alone. We will go even to the Supreme Court: BSP Chief Mayawati pic.twitter.com/vxTI5up3BQ
Mayawati also said that BSP has instructed the 6 MLAs to vote against the Congress in the Rajasthan Assembly in any proceedings that held in the Assembly session. She warned that if they do not do so, their party membership will be cancelled.

While lashing out at the Congress, Dalit leader Mayawati also said that CM Yogi Adityanath should learn from her how to run a state since the law and order situation was under control when she was the Chief Minister.
Earlier too, the Bahujan Samajwadi Party leader Mayawati had lashed out at the Congress government in Rajasthan and demanded that President’s Rule be imposed in the state. Shortly after the BJP sought a CBI probe in the allegations levelled by the Congress party that it has the audio tapes to prove that the BJP was conspiring to topple the Gehlot government in Rajasthan, Mayawati took to Twitter to blast at the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for flagrantly violating the anti-defection laws and betraying the BSP by inducting its MLAs into the Congress fold. Mayawati also alleged that Gehlot has committed illegal and unconstitutional acts by authorising the phone-tapping.
“Rajasthan Chief Minister first violated the anti-defection law and betrayed the BSP by admitting its MLAs into the Congress. He has also presided over the illegal and unconstitutional decision of commissioning the phone tapping,” Mayawati had tweeted.
In a subsequent tweet, Mayawati had said, “The Governor of Rajasthan should take effective cognizance of the ongoing political deadlock, mutual disturbance and governmental instability and recommend imposition of President’s rule in the state so as to ward off threat to democracy”.
Several Bollywood celebrities have reportedly been in touch with a cartel of 15-20 Pakistani ‘agents’ who are backed by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), reported Times Now. As per the report, the unnamed stars made undercover deals with the said agents, despite being cautioned and sensitised about the same by the Indian security agencies.
Reportedly, the said deals have been classified as ‘shady and unclean.’ As per the report, several Bollywood actors have collaborated with Pakistani artists and ISI-backed agents and performed in countries such as Canada and the US. Reportedly, the authorities in Canada and the US are now compiling a list of all such agents in the two countries that will be to the leaders of the Indian diaspora.
The crucial story about the nexus between the ISI and the Bollywood comes to light days after a Pakistani-origin American citizen Rehan Siddiqui was blacklisted by India, as revealed by a dossier prepared by the Indian government. Reportedly, Siddiqui lured Bollywood stars for shows and events via two Indian citizens and used the money, raised from events, to fund anti-India activities.
SRK well-acquainted with Kashmiri separatist
Last Wednesday, netizens unearthed images of Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan with California based Kashmiri separatist Tony Ashai, who had been urging Kashmiri youth to fight against India. It is alleged that Shah Rukh Khan has a very close relationship with Tony Ashai. Ashai is believed to have built a lot of his properties in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and also designed his apartments in Los Angeles. His son Bilal Ashai has been urging the Kashmiri youth to pick up guns.
A Srinagar-based activist Al Iskandar @TheSkandar on Twitter posted a series of tweets alleging that Tony Ashai, also known as Aziz Ashai, has been a member of the terror group Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) sponsored by ISI. The Bollywood superstar, according to him, had hired Ashai as an architect. Khan’s wife Gauri, he claimed, is also involved with Ashai in a lot of her projects.
Facebook, on the 27th of July 2020, unpublished a page on the social media platform called ExMuslim TV, that merely shared short videos of ex-Muslims and the persecution they faced by the community after they had left Islam. ExMuslim TV took to Twitter on Monday to talk about how Facebook was being unjust in banning their page.
Dear cruel @Facebook, Our primary purpose is HUMANITARIAN. Most exMuslims who appear here are/were in danger. They either speak to ask for help or to bring hope to others like them.
Appealing to Facebook to reconsider their decision of banning the page, the Twitter page of ExMuslim TV said, “Our primary purpose is HUMANITARIAN. Most exMuslims who appear here are/were in danger. They either speak to ask for help or to bring hope to others like them”.
In the screenshots shared by the ExMuslim TV Twitter handle, it would appear that Facebook decided to unpublish the page because supposedly, the page went against their ‘incitement and violence’ standards. However, the page is only known the share videos of ex-Muslims who talk about their own ordeal in the videos. In most of the videos shared by the page, Muslims who had left Islam spoke about how they were hounded, persecuted and shunned by the Muslim community after their decision to leave the faith of Islam.
This is the message the Facebook page received before it was unpublished:
The rule Facebook cited to unpublished the page of ExMuslim TV
Facebook believed that ex-Muslims who had left the faith of Islam talking about their own persecution and appealing for help and understanding somehow posed a ‘genuine risk of physical harm or indirect threat to public safety’.
Further, Facebook informed the page that due to COVID, they have fewer reviewers onboard and hence, may not be able to cater to the appeal by the Facebook page. Essentially, this would mean that ExMuslim TV might not be able to appeal to the decision to unpublish the page by Facebook because the social media giant has fewer reviewers working due to the Wuhan Coronavirus pandemic.
Message Facebook sent to the ExMuslim TV page after it was unpublished
Facebook has long been accused of harbouring a bias against anything that goes against the tenets of Liberalism and the Left. In fact, one must recall that recently, they had also released an ‘anti-conservative bias’ report that had made clear that Facebook indeed is biased against anything that goes against the Left and is seen to be remotely ‘conservative’.
With Social Media becoming an ideological battleground, it has often been noticed that platforms selectively target right-leaning platforms in an ad-hoc fashion. Not too long ago, Twitter CEO had “fully admitted“, the platforms “left-leaning” bias.
Facebook has too hugely limited the reach of several pages, many of which are right-leaning. The page owners strongly suspect that their reach is being limited because of the inherent left-bias of these platforms.
Such tactics to silence voices that are inconvenient, however, are not new. It is often seen that voices that are inconvenient to the Left are often branded ‘inciteful’, ‘hateful’, etc just to delegitimise facts that they wish not be spoken about openly.
OpIndia had done a series of articles on the Halal economy and how Halal in itself is a deeply discriminatory process since it allows the employment only of Muslims. In fact, as a rule of slaughter mentioned on their website, it is also required for the Islamic shahada to be read out before the animal is slaughtered. From the slaughter to the packaging, only Muslims are allowed to handle the meat.
Such a discriminatory process is followed by most food packaging companies and in essence, discrimination and bigotry is promoted.
The articles then became of the target of the Liberal ire because several platforms came together to brand the articles ‘Islamophobic’ and ‘aggression against the Muslim community’. One such organisation that targeted OpIndia is ‘Stop Funding Hate’. It’s a community interest company that is registered in the United Kingdom. Recently, they orchestrated a targeted campaign against OpIndia and are still going at it. Their objective is to stop advertisements on OpIndia so that the website cannot earn revenues from them.
The reason for it is pretty clear. OpIndia is a right-wing media portal that regularly offends the orthodoxy of the Left and naturally, the Left cannot have that. It seeks to establish an unchallenged hold over narratives so that people are exposed to information only through Leftist lenses. Should anyone decide to not play by their rules, they wish to damage their revenue earning capacity so that they do not earn enough revenues to be able to run their operations. Whether they can, or cannot, has already been answered here, but try they do.
Something very similar seems to be happening with the Facebook page of ExMuslim TV. They have been de-platformed with misplaced accusations of inciting violence and hate when all they do is post short videos of ex-Muslims narrating the persecution they face. It is unfathomable that individuals talking about how they are being threatened and shunned could ‘incite violence’ by any means, however, Facebook decided to de-platform them simply because they were talking about issues the Left prefers not being talked about.
Anurag Srivastava, spokesperson, External Affairs Ministry, said on Monday that India had lodged a strong protest with Pakistan over reports of attempts to covert a historic Gurudwara into a Mosque in the eastern city of Lahore.
In reply to media queries, the official spokesperson said, “A strong protest was lodged with the Pakistan high commission today on the reported incident whereby Gurdwara Shahidi Asthan, site of martyrdom of Bhai Taru Singhji at Naulakha Bazaar in Lahore, Pakistan, has been claimed as the place of ‘Masjid Shahid Ganj’ and attempts are being made to convert it to a Mosque.”

— RP Singh: National Secretary BJP (@rpsinghkhalsa) July 27, 2020
Srivastava said that the Gurudwara is a place of reverence and considered sacred by the Sikh community. The said incident is of grave concern for India. The Sikhs are in the minority in Pakistan, and there have been calls for justice for them. India has expressed its interests in the strongest terms on this incident. India has asked Pakistan to investigate and take immediate action against those who are attempting to take over the Gurudwara. He said, “Pakistan was also called upon to look after the safety, security, well-being of its minority communities including protection of their religious rights and cultural heritage.”
What is the case?
There were media reports that a maulvi had occupied the land that belonged to the said Gurudwara in Lahore, Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is an Islamic country and only Muslims can stay here. The maulvi, Sohail Bhatt Attari, is associated with Daawat-e-Islami (Barelawi). He is the caretaker of Hazrat Shah Kaku Chishti Dargah in Lahore. It is believed that he took control of the Gurudwara’s land with the help of the locals. Sohail, in a video, claimed that the land on which Gurudwara stands belong to Hazrat Shah Kaku Chishti Dargah and Shaheedganj Masjid.
As per reports, Pakistan’s Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has taken cognisance of the protests and has asked the Lahore police to take ‘strict action’ against the maulvi named Sohail Bhatt Attari who has been provoking locals aginst the historic Gurudwara.

Bhai Taru Singh being tortured after he refused to convert to Islam
The said historical shrine was built at the spot where Bhai Taru Singh sustained fatal injuries back in 1745. Bhai Taru Singh was asked to convert by then Governor of Lahore, Zakariya Khan Bahadur. Bhai Taru Singh refused and said he could never betray his gurus. When all his attempts went unheard, Zakariya Khan said that he heard that Sikhs are known for their generosity and asked for his hair. Bhai Taru Singh smiled and agreed but on a condition that he will give hair with his skull. Bhai Taru Singh’s ultimate sacrifice is still remembered as one of the bravest acts in history.
In a shocking incident, a kitten was reportedly raped by a 15-year-old teenager and 6 of his friends for over a week in Lahore, Pakistan. The information about the gruesome incident was shared on Sunday by a Pakistan-based NGO named JFK Animal Rescue and Shelter.
Reportedly, following animal abuse, the cat could not eat, sit, or sleep due to trauma. The veterinary doctors had recovered sperm samples and plastic bags from the animal’s body. According to them, the rape was so brutal that there was virtually no separation between the anal and the vaginal region. The post read that the abuse had damaged the kitten’s internal parts so severely that sperm and blood kept on leaking. Multiple plastic bags, allegedly used by the boys to rape the animal, were found in her body by the veterinarian.
Accused is the son of the family who had bought the kitten
The post by the animal shelter read that the kitten was bought by a family in Lahore and the boy who, with other friends, had committed the crime is the 15-year-old son of the family. A local girl who was suspicious about the abuse had kept an eye on the kitten and the boys. The girl had also reportedly offered the family to take the kitten but she was refused.
The animal shelter page had also added that it was the fifth case of animal sexual abuse they have faced.
Multiple organ failure
As per the report, the kitten was abused to such an extent that she died due to multiple organ failure. The carcass was then left in a nearby dumpster. While the veterinary doctor conceded that the feline was raped, he refused to give it in writing to avoid involvement in the case. However, the mother of one of the accused has dismissed all allegations of rape. She said, “My son did not do this. Someone from the street must have done it.” A girl, under the assurance of anonymity, reported about the incident to the NGO. The animal rights organisation has condemned the heinous crime and demanded that all culprits be brought to justice.
Need for sex education
“Some rapists will get another dog or cat or a monkey. Because it is so much easier raping the voiceless and weak as they wont even be able to tell what you devils did to them right? You know this voiceless don’t have laws and are not taken seriously here, so you chose them to rape,” the post emphasized. The NGO demanded serious therapies and sex education programs urgently to fix the issue of animal abuse, despite the opposition of orthodox mullahs.
“The kitten is buried and surely speaking to God up there about what ever happened to her in this cruel world. This is Pakistan, and these are Pakistani men. Men are choosing animals for rape now after women and minors,” the Facebook post emphasised about the grim situation.
The NGO also emphasised that there is an urgent need for animal rights laws, a action force and helpline to deal with such situations. it also lamented that in a country like Pakistan where women and children do not get justice after heinous rape cases, who will care for an animal.
