Politicians against Ram Lalla: After Shiv Sena, Congress suggests conducting Bhoomi Pujan of Ram Mandir ‘virtually’

The Congress party has now come out and suggested that the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the construction of the Bhavya Ram Mandir at Ayodhya should be conducted virtually. Earlier, the same suggestion was made by their alliance partner in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena. The Bhoomi Pujan is set to occur on the 5th of August, 2020.

Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra from the Congress party and Cabinet Minister in the current government, Ashok Chavan, said, “All the religious places have been shut due to the Coronavirus outbreak. If Bhumi Pujan could be done virtually it would be good.”

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had called for conducting the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony through video conferencing. However, neither Thackeray nor Chavan have offered any opinion as to how it could be done and whether such a momentous occasion for the Hindu community could be compromised with. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad had slammed the Shiv Sena supremo for his remark.

Congress supporter Saket Gokhale had also filed a petition at the Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony in the first week of August. Gokhale had alleged that the ceremony was in violation of ‘Unlock 2.0’ guidelines. The Allahabad High Court was not convinced and proceeded to dismiss the plea.

The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony has brought out the anti-Hindu nature of the ‘secular’ political parties in India. The Communists claimed that telecasting the event live was against ‘India’s secular image’. Previously, the Congress party and the NCP have also objected to Prime Minister Modi attending the event.

HC allows Harsh Mander to withdraw plea seeking registration of FIR against politicians for hate speech during Delhi anti-Hindu riots

The Delhi High Court has granted permission to ‘activist’ Harsh Mander to withdraw his writ petition which sought filing of FIR against politicians such as Anurag Thakur, Kapil Mishra, Parvesh Verma and others for allegedly inciting the Delhi anti-Hindu riots.

The permission was granted after Harsh Mander’s counsel, Kapil Sibal, contended that his client was seeking to approach jurisdictional Magistrate under Section 156(3) of Code of Criminal Procedure for the same relief.

The withdrawal of the petition was allowed by a bench comprising Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan.

Besides, the court also adjourned the hearing on the pleas in the batch till the next Monday, asking Delhi Police to streamline the petitions.

Earlier, the Delhi Police in its affidavit on the petitions, had asserted that the police authorities acted swiftly and expeditiously without any fear or favour as a result of which violence could be limited to certain areas and contained in a few days.

“Speeches made by politicians such as Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Anurag Thakur, Kapil Mishra, Pravesh Verma, Waris Pathan, and others, are being scrutinised by Delhi Police and appropriate action will be taken against the individual over the course of time if their speeches had led to the incitement of Delhi riots,” read the affidavit filed by Delhi police, adding that pleas raising aspersions on the investigation is nothing but a brazen attempt to misuse public interest litigation.

Harsh Mander accused of inciting violence

While Harsh Mander filed a petition seeking registration of FIR against politicians for their alleged hate speech, he is accused of inciting violence with provocative statements.

The controversial left-wing ‘activist’ who is associated with billionaire George Soros, was seen inciting mobs to hit the streets to protests against the country. In what appeared like an attempt to create anarchy and violence on the streets of the country, Mander said the time has come to decide our fate on the streets as he indirectly called for the dismantling of public institutions in the country. Harsh Mander was also named in the FIR filed by the Delhi Police in the case related to the murder of police personnel Ratan Lal during the Delhi anti-Hindu riots.

Ayodhya Bhoomi Pujan: PM Modi to place 22.6 kg silver brick at the foundation site of Ram Mandir. Read details

PM Modi, LK Advani to participate in Bhoomi Pujan

The ceremony will be a culmination of three-day Vedic rituals performed by sages from Varanasi. The ceremony will also involve the placing of a silver brick at the sanctum sanctorum. BJP stalwart and former deputy prime minister LK Advani, who was instrumental in shaping the Ram Mandir movement, is likely to accompany Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Ram Mandir’s Bhoomi puja in Ayodhya. The PM is set to visit the Ram Janmabhoomi on August 5, when the Bhoomi Pujan is expected to be performed.

Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust established for the construction of the temple, will organise the events. The trust has also appealed to the general public, especially Hindu devotees to watch the event on TV and light diyas in their homes on the day to mark the historic and spiritual event.

The Nanoor Massacre: When CPI(M) workers slaughtered 11 landless labourers and then blamed ‘evil’ landlords for their crimes

There is an impression among the vast majority of people that the ongoing spree of political violence in West Bengal is a recent development. Some have also pinned the blame for the violence on the rise of ‘fascist Hindutva party’ BJP. However, those who remember the days of yesteryear know that it is farcical to reach such a conclusion.

It is widely known that the Left Front ruled Bengal in tyrannical fashion and liberally made use of violence to prevent the rise of rival political parties in the state. The Trinamool Congress merely taken up that particular mantle after defeating the Communists in the Assembly Elections of 2011.

When people speak of Communist violence in West Bengal, they often speak of the lynching of Ananda Margis, the Sain Bari Massacre and the violence at Singur. However, there is another such massacre that transpired that has failed to imprint itself in public memory. Of course, it is not the public to be blamed as such demonstrations of brutality is extremely commonplace in Bengal, unfortunately enough.

We speak, of course, of the Nanoor Massacre. It occurred on the 27th of July, twenty years ago. Monday was the anniversary of the massacre and hardly anyone so much as whispered about the horrific atrocities committed by the Left Front. Nanoor lies in Birbhum district, which in those days, happened to be one of the most politically disturbed areas in the state.

The 11 victims belonged to the minority and Scheduled Caste communities and were brutally hacked to death by functionaries of Communist political outfits. They were all supporters of the Trinamool Congress. The Left Front these days tries to give people the impression that it is only they who care about minorities and SCs. When they were in power, however, too many of their functionaries did not shy away from attacking and torturing them.

Over ten years after the massacre, 44 CPI(M) supporters and local leaders were awarded life sentences for their role in the events that transpired all those years ago. Additional district and sessions judge Biswanath Konar convicted the accused on the charges of murder, rioting and unlawful assembly.

The list of convicted CPI(M) functionaries included Nitya Narayan Chatterjee, former member of the Zilla Parishad from the CPI(M) who was accused of leading the mob and Ramprasad Ghosh, a member of the Communist party’s district committee. The chargesheet was submitted by Nanoor Police in 2001 and the trials began the following year.

One of the key witnesses in the case, Abdul Khalek, was attacked by goons associated with the CPI(M) in May 2005 and he was severely injured. It has also been alleged that the families of the victims were threatened in order to dissuade them from, pursuing justice. Apart from Nitya Chatterjee, other convicted well known CPI(M) faces in the district included Golam Seikh, Golam Sarwar, Kalo Sekh,Harai Sekh, Subash Chandra Dey and Gopal Ghosh.

Despite overwhelming evidence, the CPI(M) for a long time refused to accept responsibility for the Nanoor Massacre. That was not all, they even tried to blame Trinamool Congress for it even though all the deceased were TMC supporters. Then CPI(M) Zonal Committee Member in Keshpur, Imtiaz Ali, claimed that the political violence underway in rural regions of Bengal, including the Nanoor Massacre, were clashes between landless labourers and landlords. He further claimed that the landlords were funded by Trinamool Congress.

The context was that in a major land reform, the Left Front government years ago had distributed land among the landless masses. During the reforms, landlords had to give up their own land for the same. Thus, Ali claimed that these landlords were seeking retribution and were being funded by the Trinamool Congress.According to Ali, these landlords had found an ‘ally’ in Mamata Banerjee.

“Hence, the violence in Midanpore. Since there was no dearth of licensed arms with Trinamool supporters, funded by these affluent landlords, they went on a rampage, displacing thousands of workers from villages. They began returning after two and a half years. What happened in Nanoor in July? It was a fight between farmers and landlords desperate to recapture land,” he remarked.

Then Chief Minister Jyoti Basu was in no mood to accept blame for the massacre either. He instead chose to focus on the alleged deaths of CPI(M) workers during the same period. Merely a month after the Nanoor Massacre, he claimed that at least 800 workers of the Left front had been murdered by the Trinamool Congress. Then, he went on to say that while Communists were being attacked in the state, they should not retaliate even though they had the right to self-defence.

This was, of course, a complete inversion of reality. But inversion of reality has been the prerogative of the Left Front after having committed atrocities. With the passage of time, it became evident that the Nanoor Massacre was entirely the crime of Communists in the district. However, this aspect of history is often one that is ignored by the mainstream narrative.

While ‘intellectuals’ keep blaming one party and one politician for the 2002 Gujarat Riots despite a clean chit by the Court, they maintain a resolute silence on the Sainbari Massacre, the lynching of Ananda Margis and the Nanoor Massacre. It is this conspiracy of silence that has allowed a culture of political violence to fester in West Bengal. And it is due to this conspiracy of silence that there is no end in sight.

Did Sadhvi Pragya say reciting Hanuman Chalisa will ‘cure’ coronavirus? Read details

The Member of Parliament from Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya recently agains came under attack for a seemingly innocuous statement, urging people to undertake a spiritual effort to ward off the threat emanating from coronavirus outbreak.

Sadhvi Pragya posted a tweet, along with a video message, exhorting her followers to join her in a spiritual attempt to wish people good health in their fight against coronavirus. She asked people to recite Hanuman Chalisa for 5 times a day from July 25th to August 5th at 7 PM in the evening and conclude it with lighting a lamp in their houses.

“Let us all together make a spiritual effort to wish the people good health and bring an end to the coronavirus epidemic by reading Hanuman Chalisa 5 times daily in our homes from 25th to 5th August today at 7:00 pm and conclude it with Ramlalla’s aarti by lighting a lamp in our houses” Sadhvi Pragya tweeted.

However, the appeal by the Bhopal MP to offer prayers to Hindu God Lord Hanuman did not sit well with a set of individuals and some mainstream media houses, who distorted the request made by Sadhvi Pragya to allege that she is advocating recital of Hanuman Chalisa as a ‘cure’ for coronavirus.

Sadhvi Pragya’s call for chanting Hanuman Chalisa triggers a meltdown among MSM and liberals

Sadhvi Pragya’s tweet triggered an instant meltdown among the liberal intelligentsia, who is already having a hard time coming to terms with Pragya’s election to the Parliament from Bhopal constituency. In the fit of their hatred against the BJP leader, liberals and the mainstream media outlets twisted the request made by her and ridiculed her for advocating the recital of Hanuman Chalisa as a solution to end the pandemic.

Tavleen Singh’s tweet

NDTV journalist Stutee Mishra could not suppress her disdain for Sadhvi Mishra and in the process also revealed how her election to parliament is still a cause of burn for many journalists of liberal hue. Ms Mishra perverted Sadhvi Pragya’s request for reciting Hanuman Chalisa, alleging that the call for prayer to Hindu God Lord Hanuman for spiritual purposes is akin to going backwards and an anathema to science and logical thinking.

Tweet by NDTV journey

Prashant Bhushan, who is a serial fake news peddler, also declared that Sadhvi Pragya has announced that Hanuman Chalisa can ‘cure’ coronavirus. He then proceeded to mock the PM’s call to countrymen to appreciate COVID warriors.

Leftist site The Wire too misrepresented the Bhopal MP’s statement and insinuated that Pragya has claimed that chanting Hanuman Chalisa till August 5 will ‘end’ coronavirus.

Mainstream media organisations such as CNN News18, Hindustan Times, and ABP News also had run misleading headlines regarding Sadhvi Pragya’s statement. A harmless call to devout Hindu adherents to recite Hanuman Chalisa was perverted by the media organisations to contend that the lawmaker has advocated chanting of Hanuman Chalisa as a cure for the viral infection.

Sadhvi Pragya’s innocuous tweet asking Hindu believers to embark on a spiritual endeavour with Hanuman Chalisa and aarti in the evenings appeared only as a means to uplift their spirits in the face of a deadly contagion and not as a treatment or cure to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the wanton distortion of Sadhvi Pragya’s request seemed like a concerted attempt undertaken by a certain section of mainstream media to mock the MP.

Dear Aatish Taseer, where is the spirit of Kaagaz Nahin Dikhayenge?

Let me start by reading you this paragraph.

“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.”

This official oath is the final legal step required for a person to be naturalized as a citizen of the United States of America. Today, our good friend Aatish Taseer took to Twitter to announce the happy news that he has taken the official oath and become a US citizen.

Now because Aatish has mentioned India in his tweet, I have some questions.

Did Aatish Taseer dare to hide any background info on his US citizenship application? My guess would be no.

Can you imagine Aatish Taseer hiding info on his US citizenship application? And saying later that he is big and famous enough that details about him are well known, so who cares about filling forms? No! I daresay Aatish has dotted every “i” and crossed every “t” in his application.

Because his sense of entitlement is limited to India. Only in India can his mother expect the Home Minister to personally attend to clerical issues about her son’s visa application. Only in India would he demand an exemption from the law as a personal favor.

But I have some more questions, especially with regard to the oath that Aatish has just taken. If you will notice, Aatish has just sworn publicly that he will

A. Bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law
B. Perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law
C. Perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law.

Not my words, Aatish. Orders of the US government. Repeated loyally by YOU.

So I guess my question is: how did you get so patriotic, Aatish?

It seems like only yesterday that liberals were making fun of the “Hindu nationalists” and their obsession with the military. Now suddenly we have Aatish Taseer humbly promising to serve in the US military as a precondition for becoming a citizen.

There’s more fun questions we can ask. How about that ending to the oath which says “So help me God“? Did you protest that this makes the oath “exclusionary”?

That reminds me. Didn’t you write recently that the word “Bharat” itself is “exclusionary”? You don’t seem to hold such extreme views about the US citizenship oath.

Wait. There’s more fun. In order to be naturalized as a US citizen, you have to assure the US government in writing that you are not a Communist and do not advocate Communism. Sounds almost like an ideological test. So if you have ever praised Kanhaiya Kumar or Sitaram Yechury, be sure to speak to a lawyer.

Relax, Aatish. I didn’t mean to scare you. America is a country with a big heart. They don’t generally cross-check this stuff. But just so you know, they could, if they wanted to.

It’s nice to see Aatish this way. Standing before the backdrop of the stars and stripes. In another photo, holding a smaller flag for good measure, with a banner in the background that shows Lady Liberty.

America mata ki jai, right?

Now if only you and your ilk could show the same respect to an Indian who sings Vande Mataram or says Bharat Mata ki jai. Don’t call us “exclusionary” for saying “Bharat.” When a persecuted Hindu or Sikh or Jain or Buddhist from Pakistan becomes part of India, they feel much the same sentiment as you do. Allow them to feel that sentiment without being labeled as Nazi by you and your elite friends. Just because they have less access to closed privilege clubs of global media does not mean their emotions are less human than yours.

Now I cannot say for sure, but it looks like your positions on patriotism, nationalism, militarism and secularism have evolved just a little.

I guess you gotta make some compromises Aatish to become a citizen of the land of the brave and the home of the free.

Did you see what I did there Aatish? Did you catch that? I’m sure you did. I scrambled the ending of your National Anthem. It’s actually “land of the free and the home of the brave.”

I’m sure you noticed because you probably sang the Anthem at the citizenship ceremony. Did you stand up to sing it and place your hand over your heart? Or did you show off your “liberty” by sitting down? I’m sure you didn’t. After all, they make you sing the anthem before you take the oath and become a citizen.

I hope you become a good American, my dear Aatish. Vande Mataram and God bless the USA.

Congress leader Captain Amrinder Singh has no right to outrage against Pakistan Gurudwara being turned into a Mosque: Here is why

The persecution of religious minorities including Hindus and Sikhs is not a new phenomenon in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Religious persecution and forced conversion continue unabated in the terror state of Pakistan. Despite repeated appeals by the Indian government, the Pakistani government has been doing little to save its religious minorities from the atrocities being meted out at them almost every other day.

Persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan

Last month, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) noted that despite restraining orders issued by a senior civil judge of Bahawalpur bench, the local authorities levelled 25 houses and partly demolished another 10 houses belonging to Hindus, leaving the occupants including women and children homeless. Around the same time, 102 Hindus were forcibly converted to Islam in the Golarchi district which falls under the Badin district of Sindh province, Pakistan. Earlier, a radical extremist was seen dismantling the temporary boundary wall of the new Sri Krishna temple in Islamabad. .Huma Younus, a Christian girl who was kidnapped from her home in Karachi on October 10 last year, has become pregnant due to the incessant sexual violence perpetrated by her abductor Abdul Jabbar.

Attempt to convert Gurdwara to mosque

Recently, a Maulvi named Sohail Bhatt Attari reportedly took control of the land of Gurdwara Shahidi Asthan, the site of martyrdom of Bhai Taru Singhji, in Naulakha Bazaar in Lahore. The Maulvi who is the caretaker of Hazrat Shah Kaku Chishti Dargah encroached upon the land with the help of locals. Sohail, in a video, claimed that the land on which Gurudwara stands belongs to Hazrat Shah Kaku Chishti Dargah and Shaheedganj Masjid. As per reports, attempts are now being made to convert the Gurdwara into a mosque.

As per reports, Pakistan’s Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has taken cognisance of the protests and has asked the Lahore police to take ‘strict action’ against the maulvi named Sohail Bhatt Attari who has been provoking locals against the historic Gurudwara. Anurag Srivastava, spokesperson, External Affairs Ministry, said on Monday that India had lodged a strong protest with Pakistan over the issue.

Captain Amarinder Singh expresses his concern

Days after the Maulvi encroached upon the land of the historic Gurudwara Sri Shahidi Asthan in a bid to convert it into a mosque in the eastern city of Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday urged Ministry of External Affairs to intervene and convey the concerns of Punjab to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to protect places of worship sacred to the Sikh community.

Singh tweeted, “Strongly condemn attempts being made to convert holy Gurdwara Sri Shahidi Asthan in Lahore, site of martyrdom of Bhai Taru Singh Ji, into a Mosque. Urge Dr S Jaishankar to convey Punjab’s concerns in strongest terms to Pakistan to safeguard all Sikh places of reverence.”

Captain Amarinder Singh lost moral ground

While concerns raised by Captain Amarinder Singh are not unfounded, it must be remembered that he was amongst those politicians who opposed the humanitarian Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019. The law seeks to fast track citizenship of persecuted minorities who fled from the Islamic majority countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan to avoid torture and harassment.

Despite being well-aware of the treatment meted out to religious minorities in the neighbouring Islamic nations, the ace Congress politician opposed the CAA. “You want to change the secular fabric of the country. We want to break brotherhood merely for politics. Clearly, no lessons have been learnt from history,” he was quoted as saying. He had said that the ongoing situation in India was similar to the one witnessed in Germany during the 1930s under the leadership of Adolf Hitler. Opposing the act tooth-and-nail, the Punjab Congress government had even passed a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the state assembly.

By doing so, Captain Amarinder Singh has lost the moral high ground to ask the Indian government to intervene and talk to Pakistan whenever instances of religious discrimination and persecution of Sikhs come to light. It is indeed hypocritical for a politician to be vocal against law designed to help persecuted minorities on one hand and simultaneously asking the central govt to intervene to ensure their protection.

Moreover, the government of India has already lodged a protest with the Pakistani authorities, condemning and sharply criticising the attempts to convert the Gurudwara into a Mosque.

Punjab CM had exposed his hypocrisy during the Afghanistan Gurudwara attack too

It is not the first time that the Punjab CM had exposed his hypocrisy over the issue of Sikhs facing religious persecution in Islamic countries. Earlier in March, when Islamic terrorists had attacked a Gurudwara in Kabul’s Shor Bazar area, killing 28 and injuring 15 others, Amarinder Singh had urged MEA S Jaishankar to make arrangements to ‘airlift’ the Sikh families living under threat in Afghanistan.

Punjab CM’s tweet after Kabul Gurudwara attack

It is indeed remarkable how conveniently the Punjab CM has highlighted the plight of Sikhs in Pakistan and Afghanistan to gain political mileage, but when the Indian government was bringing a landmark law that will provide real, practical help to the persecuted minorities, including Sikhs in those countries, Amarinder Singh had instead chosen to appease his political masters and had opposed the CAA.

The Bhoomi Pujan at Ram Janmabhoomi is no place for ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ who believe Shri Rama is an Islamic cleric and not a God

The Bhoomi Pujan at Ram Janmabhoomi for the construction of the much awaited Bhavya Ram Mandir is all set to occur on the 5th of August, 2020. The event will be attended by various luminaries and the Puja will be performed by Prime Minister Modi himself. With days remaining for the auspicious event, it is being reported that certain ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ are on the way to Ayodhya in their bid to attend the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony.

Before we proceed any further, there is a need to take a moment to comprehend the monumental significance of the event. The Bhoomi Pujan at Ram Janmabhoomi is the successful culmination of a battle that lasted over five hundred centuries. It is the fulfilment of a dream that has been nurtured by Hindus generations after generation ever since the Temple that stood at the sacred site was demolished by Islamic invaders.

Hundreds and thousands of Hindus marched to their deaths with a smile on their lips so that Shri Rama could return to His Janmabhoomi again. For centuries, our ancestors lived under the hope that a Bhavya Ram Mandir will be constructed at that sacred land again, that the King of Ayodhya will make His return to claim what is His by right. This is the dream that our ancestors harboured. We are living it.

Under such circumstances, that some ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ are marching to Ayodhya to attend the Bhoomi Pujan event is a matter of grave concern. It is a matter of grave of concern because the significance of the day is threatened to be hijacked for the purpose of singing paeans to Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb. The 5th of August 2020 is not about that. That day belongs to Rama and His devotees alone.

The concern is further aggravated by the fact that such ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ do not believe that Shri Rama is Bhagwan. They, instead, relegate Him to the status of an Imam. ‘Imam-e-Hind’ they call Shri Rama. And they wish to attend the event not to pay their respect to the Hindu God but to an Islamic cleric. It is also reported that one Faiz Khan is carrying bricks for the Temple from his home state of Chhatisgarh. And he is carrying those bricks for an Islamic cleric.

Words fail to describe the preposterous indecency of the whole affair. It is Hindus who sacrificed their lives in order to ensure the return of Shri Rama to His abode. It is Hindu men who forfeited their lives for the cause. It is Hindu women who bid goodbye to their husbands, their sons, their fathers when the men marched for battle knowing fully well that they might never be able to hold their loved ones in their embrace again.

And after centuries, when the Janmabhoomi has finally been reclaimed, the auspicious Bhoomi Pujan event is sought to be hijacked to further the narrative of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb. It will be a mockery of the sacrifices the Hindu community has made over hundreds of years in the Battle for Rama if people who believe Rama to be an Islamic cleric are allowed to attend the event.

One such ‘Muslim Ram Bhakt’ says, “We Indian Muslims believe Ram was Imam-e-Hind and I will be in Ayodhya to celebrate the construction of the temple.” Another stated boldly, “We converted to Islam and embraced a system of prayer according to Islam, but changing our religion doesn’t change our ancestors. We believe Ram was our ancestor and we will celebrate with our Hindu brothers.”

All of this is fine but there is a time and place for everything. The Bhoomi Pujan event for construction of the historic Temple is not one of those times. The minimum requirement for any attendee of the event ought to be that he or she believes in the divinity of Rama. If they do not even recognise His divinity, what is even the point of attending the Bhoomi Pujan event?

The proper place to pay respect to an Islamic cleric is not a Hindu Temple, it is an Islamic shrine or a Mosque. If the ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ are so intent on paying their respect to Rama, then they would be better served by paying their respect to Him at a Mosque or an Islamic shrine dedicated to Rama. The Bhavya Ram Mandir at Janmabhoomi is not the place for it.

It needs to be emphasised here that they don’t really seem to be devotees of Shri Rama, they are devotees of a mythical image of Shri Rama they have created in their head. Shri Rama is not an Imam, He is not an Islamic cleric. ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ are bound by their religious faith to not worship Rama because ‘There is no God but Allah’ is the core doctrine of their religious identity.

There is another issue at hand here. At least some ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ have expressed the desire to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the Temple. The sanctum sanctorum is the designated place within the Temple where the Puja is performed. It is mostly reserved for Purohitas and those performing the Puja. That some of them are expressing such a wish reveals that they have very little idea about Hindu traditions.

While the desire for communal harmony and better relations between the two communities is indeed desirable, it should not come at the expense of trampling upon the faith of one particular community. The objective of the establishment of the Temple is to worship Shri Rama and that alone. Towards that end, traditions should not be compromised in order to improve communal relations. There are a million other avenues where the latter objective can be effectively pursued.

And this is not all. One of the ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ is a devout Muslim who has even been on a pilgrimage to Mecca. Under such circumstances, should they be allowed to attend the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony? Will such blasphemy be tolerated on such an auspicious day? And how earth will such conduct improve relations between the two communities? It will cause an irreparable fissure between Hindus and Muslims, a divide that may be too big to heal.

It is important to understand the message that will be sent by the participation of these ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ at the Bhoomi Pujan event. Here we have some people who believe Rama is a servant of Allah, here we have people who follow the same ideology as the invaders who destroyed the original Ram Mandir in the first place. And they have not ever denied the same. In fact, some of them even undertook the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.

Permission for their attendance will only serve as reinforcement of the doctrine of Islamic supremacy. The ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ have shown no inclination at all to worship Bhagwan Rama. They have reduced Rama to an Islamic cleric, a servant of Allah and not only are they not apologetic about it, they are gloating and expect to receive praise from Hindus for it.

One could not blame Hindus if they come to believe that it is a cynical ploy to shame the Hindu community on the auspicious day. There is nothing wrong if ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ pay their respect in their own homes, as they have all this, while Hindus were busy trying to reclaim the land. The 5th of August is not just the appropriate time.

Truth be told, we could even respect their sentiments that they believe Rama is their ancestor. But believing that is simply not enough when they reduce Him to a servant of Allah. Denying the divinity of Shri Rama and still being insistent on attending the Bhoomi Pujan event could only ever be considered as an insult to the Hindu community. It is a naked display of Islamic supremacy and it is not palatable with the significance of the occasion.

Through the War for Rama, which lasted for over 500 centuries, Hindus battled Islamic Supremacy, British Colonialism and the Secular State of India to reclaim the sacred land. Hindus had to overcome concocted myths of ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb’ tpo earn themselves the right to construct a Temple at Janmabhoomi. Paying obeisance to the same ideology on the occasion of Bhoomi Pujan would only serve to leave a bitter taste in the mouth of the actual devotees of Shri Rama.

It also needs to be emphasised that barring the entry of non-Hindus at a Hindu Temple is not controversial. Even Sonia Gandhi, when she was the wife of the sitting Prime Minister, was not permitted to enter the Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal. The entry of non-Hindus is still barred at various Hindu Temples. It is for the simple reason that Temples are not tourist places and Hindus believe them to be the home of the Gods. Consequently, it is only natural for Hindus to not permit the entry of non-Hindus at the Bhoomi Pujan event of the Bhavya Ram Mandir.

We are standing at the precipice of history here. The construction of the Bhavya Ram Mandir at Janmabhoomi will mark the dawn of a new age. The BJP and the RSS must also be extremely cautious on how to proceed here. It is an indisputable fact that they earned great goodwill among Hindus for the stellar manner in which they organised and led the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement. And they rewarded the BJP and RSS by awarding them their votes at the ballot box.

The attendance of ‘Muslim Ram Bhakts’ on the 5th of August 2020 will resurrect the Ghost of the Babri at Janmabhoomi on the auspicious occasion of Bhoomi Pujan. If the BJP governments in the state and centre permit such a thing to occur, it will undeniably incredibly dent the goodwill they enjoy among people who have put their faith in them for their great work thus far in the reclamation of the Janmabhoomi.

It takes one moment of madness to destroy years of hard work and sacrifice. It is one of those moments. The sentiments of the Hindu community are far too great with regards to the Janmabhoomi for them to consent to the presence of those who wish to pay respect to Islamic cleric Rama at Janmabhoomi on the auspicious day. And respecting their sentiments is the bare minimum that the Indian State could do after delaying the construction of the Temple for so many years.

Unfortunately enough, a deliberate attempt has been made to pin the blame for the riots on the Hindu community and paint the spree of violence as an anti-Muslim pogrom. The mainstream narrative depicts the riots as a consequence of the Central government’s refusal to heed the concerns of the Muslim community and an inevitable consequence of ‘Hindu bigotry’.

At OpIndia, we were greatly troubled by the credence the mainstream narrative was gathering for itself because it was a preposterous lie that did not contain a shred of truth. We felt the acute need to portray the events of February accurately at the face of a seemingly insurmountable barrage of lies. The Delhi Riots Opindia report is our humble effort towards the same.

Contrary to the mainstream narrative, we posit that the communal riots at the national capital during US President Donald Trump’s visit to India was the culmination of a cycle of violence that was initiated in December 2019. We posit that the riots in February ought not be seen in isolation of the events of the preceding months.

We posit that the communal violence in Delhi was not an anti-Muslim pogrom but anti-Hindu in nature and was the manifestation of deep seated bigotry that festers in the hearts of the anti-CAA protesters. Denial of such obvious realities is what prompted us to make an effort that would lead to the publication of the Delhi Riots Opindia report.

Towards that end, our report documents the anti-CAA protests and other significant developments related to the matter from the month of December when violence first broke out not only in Delhi but across the country. We trace the events in the country from December 2019 through the month of January and conclude our documentation of events with the initial stages of the investigation into the riots in the first half of March.

Needless to say, the Delhi Riots Opindia report is by no means an exhaustive documentation of events as such an effort is practically impossible. We might have missed one or the other development during the course of the three months in question but we have made a genuine attempt at documenting the entire series of events.

In our report, we have documented the manner in which politicians, non-governmental organisations and ‘civil society’ joined hands with the extremist elements within the Muslim community to wreak havoc across the country. We documented the unparalleled bigotry of the Shaheen Bagh protests and how things were not as great as they were made out to be. We documented the role of certain far-left organisations in the communal violence that transpired.

But most importantly, we documented the manner in which Radical Islamists conspired to unleash a spree of violence across the country and how their actions led directly to the Anti-Hindu Delhi riots. This is our humble effort to document the true version of events. This is our humble effort to ensure that truth is not sacrificed at the altar of propaganda.

We sincerely hope that our report lives up to the expectations of our readers and our readers are pleased with the effort we have made. 20% of the collections from our report will be handed over to Nimittekam, an organisation dedicated to helping Pakistani Hindus and Sikhs in need. Our report is now live and can be purchased by clicking here.

Pakistan gives Nishan-e-Pakistan award to Kashmiri radical Syed Ali Shah Geelani, wants his ‘struggles’ included in school curriculum

On Monday, the Senate of Pakistan passed a unanimous resolution to confer the highest civilian award, namely, Nishan-e-Pakistan on Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

In its resolution, the Pakistani Senate acknowledged the ‘sacrifices’ and ‘relentless struggle’ of Geelani in the separatist movement in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the resolution, the award was bestowed on him in light of his ‘dedication, perseverance, leadership, and unwavering commitment’ to the nefarious agenda of Pakistan in Kashmir.

The Senate of Pakistan also acknowledged his role in exposing the supposed ‘atrocities’ by the Indian State and the alleged ‘human rights violations’ in the Valley. In its resolution, the Senate lamented that the 90-year-old has been ‘unjustifiedly’ placed under house arrest.

Besides demanding that the Government of Pakistan felicitates Syed Ali Shah Geelani with Nishan-e-Pakistan, the Senate also called upon the State to rename the proposed ‘Pakistan University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies’ as ‘Syed Ali Shah Geelani University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies.’ The proposed university will be built near the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.

Further, the resolution demanded that the life and struggle of radical separatist Geelani be included in the educational curriculum at federal and province level.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani ‘quits’ Hurriyat

Last month, Geelani, the senior-most separatist leader in Jammu and Kashmir, had reportedly resigned from the Hurriyat Conference, a conglomerate of separatist groups in the Valley. The separatist leader, who is believed to be on the payroll of Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI, had also written a detailed two-page letter highlighting the reasons behind his resignation from the Hurriyat Conference.

As per the letter, Geelani was sidelined by the Pakistani chapter of Hurriyat in the key-decision making process for the past 2 years. Besides, he revealed that his colleagues also began to maintain distance from him.
