The discussion around the possibility of Ahmedabad being recommended for hosting the upcoming Commonwealth Games has going on for quite some time. Keeping this in mind, the central and state governments have been working together for many years to make Ahmedabad a hub of sports infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the deceased Hindu boy’s mother told OpIndia that she has demanded cancellation of the school's recognition and has also made a representation to the higher authorities in this regard.

The school is run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church Organisation, which is a part of a global network. The headquarters of the organisation are located in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA.

The accused told his friend that he killed the Hindu boy and the latter told him that he should not have stabbed him.

The victim's family alleged that the school administration did not even call an ambulance to take the victim to a hospital after the incident.

Years later, a memorial was built in the Khadia area, in Ahmedabad, where the incident took place. The memorial says that Umakant Motiram Kadia attained martyrdom here.
