students of Aligarh Muslim University took out a rally on Sunday night (8 October) opposing Israel action against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas is an acronym for Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya, which means “Islamic Resistance Movement”. It was founded by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin who was a Palestinian cleric.
